We stopped into this brewery to check out some local craft beer and really enjoyed our visit. The place has a unique, quirky vibe that gives it a lot of character, and it's the kind of spot that's fun to explore while you're sipping a beer. I remember thinking the menu looked pretty awesome, although I somehow managed to accidentally delete my photo of it! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and as a dog lover, I have to mention that the pup hanging out inside was absolutely adorable. One thing I thought was especially cool was that they could add different flavors to some of the beers, which made for a fun and customizable experience. It's also within walking distance of the cruise port, making it an easy stop for cruise passengers looking to support a local business. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and enjoy craft beer. read more

Tiny little shared space and glad we came in for a beer. We always love to explore new brewery's and this one was pretty rad. We got a flight and got to sample their selection they have and they were delicious. My favorite is their Sour. The service was great, the guy at the front Craig serving the beers was chill and helpful. The space is small but we had 4 in our group and were able to grab a table. We had the banana beer and a hefeweizen. The assistant brewer was friendly and knowledgeable. The place is quite small as it shares the space with a coffee shop. We almost missed it walking by it. Prices are reasonable especially compared to on our cruise ship. It's in walking distance to the cruise terminal. Bring a sticker from your local brewery and they will display it. The owner AL is a master brewer who studied in Bavaria. read more

Hiding in the back of Local Grounds coffee is a tiny brewery behind double swinging doors. The bartender was very friendly and helped us pick out beer from their tap list. I settled on the Dimension B and my partner got the bananaweissen with fresh banana puree. Both beers were good, but rather pricy compared to other drinks in town. This brewing location shares a space with a coffee stop, but you'll need to enter the brewing side through a fun swinging wooden door. They have a few seats and a wraparound bar area that you'll order at. Bar tender was quick and friendly. The menu was easy to read, and they had several offerings to choose from. The atmosphere was a touch odd in that it shares the space with another business, but they separate it well and have each decorated very differently once you're inside! Stopped in while in Ketchikan for a local beer. Very small blink and miss kinda place. Very small and nothing fancy, inside the coffee store, kinda in a closet feel. Baleen Brewing was a fantastic stop in our time at Ketchikan! Sharing a building with the coffee shop, Baleen is serving up several beer standards along with some twists. The wonderfully friendly and informative Jon invited us to try the Abbey style smoked with cottonwood, as well as the Alt Bier frothed up with a heated metal stick. Sub-leased location inside a coffee shop? Interesting! Baleen is the most "Saloon" as you can get in the modern day. $10 for a 12 ounce pour is pretty pricy for a black and tan. Luckily, the beer was pretty delicious. You can't take your beer out of the area around the bar. Can't take it to the coffee shop, and can't take it into the virtual golf area. Overall, I'm glad I got to try Ketchikan's brewery, but it didn't blow my socks off. Its aight, especially for that pricing. read more

I'm not saying that I'm in love with the beer, but what a cool place, with a cool brewer serving you beer. I'm currently kicked back on a comfy couch, playing with their adorable Pomeranian named Luna. I'm enjoying trying variance of beer flavor additives combined with their flagship stout. Very cool place. Wish I could hang out here and do my homework or something, if I was still a school person. The personalized interactions with the Brewer is something you don't get to do in a lot of places unless they're tiny like this. Stop by and see how they maintain a flawless rating. read more

Came here while waiting for coffee next door, that experience was not the best. BUT you know what was the best!?! John's friendliness and welcoming spirit!! You're there! You think it's a coffee shop but just to the left through the tiny saloon doors open up to this microbrewery that JUST opened its doors this year. Specialties

It might be nice for you to know your brewery's brewer. So I will take a moment to tell everyone how I came to be. My passionate and affectionate relationship with beer has intertwined my life going all the way back to the 1980's and a fortunate trip to Belgium and later other countries around the world, just to try their beers. Finally in 2007, I was admitted into a brewing school in Chicago and again later in Bavaria at an academy called Doemens. It was there that my obsession with beer was directed and focused into making high quality beer by exposure to the microbiologists who trained me personally. As well as the amazing scientists who tweak the yeasts into different strains, cross breed the hops into different varieties, and who taught the maltsters how to improve the malting process with the barley our farmers produce. Without them I'd be nothing. What I've learned over the years of brewing and sampling beers, is to bring you the best beers I can make, and the best beer you have ever had.

Ultimately, the experience landed in the "average, but not exceptional" category. We ordered caprese salad bites, asaigo & artichoke dip and Nonno Joe's meatballs in our appetizer round. All of it was delicious. I especially recommend the meatballs. They were truly amazing. We ordered Hawaiian Popper and Italian Supreme pizzas. Again, it was all delicious. Thin tasty crust with a lot of toppings and cheese. The service was spot on. Took care of all our needs from drink refills to extra napkins. I highly recommend this place if you are craving some amazing Italian inspired dishes. We will be back for more.

We found the wines weren't much higher than in California, and they had a good selection. The clerk knows better than to advise you of your cruise ship's policies. An interesting sign overhead promoted "Corona for a Cure." Over a 3-month period a portion of purchases of cerveza was donated to cancer research. Yeah, drink for cancer! It's the Alaskan way!

I got all the toppings except curry, because my cousin said not to it, and the jalapeno. While waiting, i saw other people's orders and was a bit jealous that I didn't get the salmon doughnut. That doughnut was loaded with a salmon mixture on it. Love the decor and the signage. Oh, and the convenience as it was right across from my cruise ship as there are 5 berths. We were docked at #4. No tables but there is a counter facing the street if you want to sit for a quick bite. As instructed, it took about 15-minutes for me to receive my dumplings. I shared it with my new group of friends and we thought it was just ok. Service was unenthusiastically friendly and helpful. It is pricey but understandably so as ingredients have to be shipped in. Because I didn't get to try anything else as we aren't allowed to bring outside food into the shop, I wasn't able to try anything else. However, I still recommend Jellyfish doughnuts and hope to try their salmon doughnuts in the future.
