I came because I needed to repair my AC. I immediately left when I heard the owner mistreat his employee and outsourcer. He asked if they could speak English because they had an accent? Repeatedly said they didn't understand which they clearly did and in fact was him who was just being entitled and did not hear any reason. He called them MF's and ORDERED them to "wait in the car" until he got there? Mind you, the owner also had an accent. This is LA, a cultural melting pot, Armenians, Indians, Korean, Chinese, Hispanics and so on. With everything happening right now, being rude and racist is unacceptable. This guy who came up to me who was evidently late to the shop and didn't show up came to the side of my car, and I briefly told him my concerns about my car and he kept brushing off with an annoyed disgusted look. Jack was really nice and very easy to deal with. I got too close to a moving truck while trying to park my baby (g37) a few weeks ago and what resulted was a long, narrow scratch on the driver side of the front bumper. I could've used touch-up paint to try to correct the issue but I wanted my baby to look immaculate. I went to 5 body shops all with high yelp ratings and Balistek's estimate was the second lowest. Even though it wasn't cheapest, I had a great impression of Jack and the shop and he met me halfway with the price difference so I ended up going with him. The paint job was going to take two days and luckily I was going on a trip that week so I dropped off the car before my flight and picked it up several days later. It was really nice of Jack to accommodate my schedule and let me pick up the car on a Sunday. Unfortunately, the color wasn't right. The bumper ended up being a lighter shade of white than the rest of the car. I'm not talking about a small difference; it was a noticeable difference that you can point out even if the car is 50 feet away. I took the car back to Jack and he immediately offered to fix the problem. What sucked was that this time, I had to leave my car for two days again and I didn't have a backup car so I had to take the bus to work. When I picked it up the second time, I could still see a slight difference in color but I guess it's good enough. Jack pointed out that if it had been an insurance claim, they would've painted more of the car so that all of the different colors would've blend in better. I don't think I can give Balistek a higher rating based on the hassle that I had to go through. Jack said I got a good price; it may very well be true but I wish I had paid a little more to get it done right the first time. read more

I love this place! I randomly came across this place one day when I was driving and Jack helped me with a smokey, crashed hood car (lol) so I decided to bring it back to have it fully repaired. Since then I've gotten two different cars repaired at this shop (one old, one new) due to accidents and they did an awesome job. These guys were the nicest. We broke down on the side of the road earlier and has to get a jump start from a nice stranger who recommended this place. Apparently the battery terminal was corroded on my cousin's '99 Toyota corolla. Jake suggested we hit up the nearby autozone to pick up a new one and bring it back. This review is about a month late, but better late than never! I was staying at my boyfriends house around the area one day and in the morning when I was getting ready to leave. I can't say enough how awesome these guys are. I ruined my front bumper to my brand new BMW 2016 528i. The look is a metallic blue paint (sparkles) and they got it to match exactly. They got it back to its pristine state. The level of detail they put into the work is impeccable. All the parts put back perfectly with no bumps or bleeds into the parts. The guy who worked on my car is named Martin. Look for him. He's been doing BMWs for over 2 decades. Also, Roger (owner) really works with his customers on price. I went here to get my thermostat and thermostat housing replaced about 4 months ago because it was leaking, spent a few hundred bucks. Either they did not actually replace the housing, or they did it incorrectly, because I just had to have the housing replaced (again). There was a leak from the housing and I moved out of state since going here, so I had to find a new mechanic. The mechanic who did the work this time showed me the cracked parts and a stripped screw. So going to Balistek ended up being a big waste of my hard earned money. I would not trust them and do not recommend them. read more

I came into this shop after getting referred from a guy named Mike, who owns an affiliated repair shop. Mike specifically referred me to Jack, who assured me that my car could get a replacement door for cheap for my '07 Kia Spectra and that he and his team could get the new door smoothed out, polished, and put back on within a business day. He kept his word, price was EXTREMELY fair, and he got my rental car arrangements taken care of too. Given that I am female, I am wary of getting ripped off when it comes to car issues - even Audi dealership has given me a song and dance in the past. So I prefer to get car related vendors from friends' recommendations. I found Balistek from a friend who also has an Audi and just had my Audi A4 rear left and right bumper/quarter panels redone from two separate parking hit and runs. jack did the most amazing work on my car. i was rear ended :( and I took my car to three different shops to evaluate the damage. i wanted to give my business to one in my hood because a) he was a fellow coreano, 2) it was literally 7 minutes from my home and 3) rave yelp reviews. it was an insurance job and they estimated 10 days to finish the work. i figured i'd kill two birds and get an old dent repaired too (an out of pocket repair) while i had a rental car. long story short, their business was semi shady and i couldn't get a straight answer from them. lame. but as they say, "a fourth time's the charm." cut to - balistek auto works. There aren't, however, a lot of places where you can find somebody who is going to break it down for you what needs to be done, explain to you this process and give you a great deal on top of it.
