    Ajvar and Pita
    Michael T.

Wow, talk about a hidden gem. I don't know how this place has flown under my radar for so long. We visited here for Wildwood Restaurant Week and we couldn't be happier with the dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is very spacious and gives a very relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the prix fixe meal, we chose: Ajvar and Pita, Mozzarella Sticks, Hanger Steak, Jelly Crepes, and the chocolate cake. Everything was amazing from start to finish. I can't believe this is probably the best steak I've had in a very long time. At first glance, I was hoping to get some steak sauce, but as it turns out, it wasn't necessary at all. They have tenderized this steak and seasoned it incredibly. It was a very soft, juicy, and delicious piece of meat that needed no sauce. I was also a huge fan of the jelly crepes for dessert. They were very fluffy and had the right amount of blueberry filling. I was conflicted between getting the jelly or the nutella filling, but I knew I would be satisfied either way given how the meal went so far. I also really appreciate the good variety of dishes they have on both their restaurant week and regular menu. Needless to say Balkan Fusion was a very pleasant surprise that blow every expectation out of the water. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

We were pleasantly surprised, and very impressed with the results. The food was outstanding. The husband started with a cup of Borsch soup, very flavorful with a nice mix of beets and carrots. Then we shared the Hummus Platter appetizer. Nicely done with Kalamata olives, celery, cucumber, carrots and pita bread. The main event included Musaka and Turli Tave. The musaka was layered up with potatoes, ground beef & pork, topped with egg and cheese with a side salad of cabbage in a vinegar dressing. The flavors were very good and there was enough to feed two. The turli tava was really tasty. It was in a stew form and plentiful. It came with pita bread which allowed him to wipe the crock clean, as a good Italian is taught. The final scene included Honey Cake and Tulumba. The cake was finely layered and extremely decadent. The tulumba were also very good, small fried dough similar to churros, but soaked in simple syrup. Alex (chef owner) and his wife Monica (server), along with their little guy Noah were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Definitely a return trip in the future for us. If you are in the neighborhood and hungry, give them a try. Don't worry, they have stuff on the menu for the non-adventurous. It's a BYOB too, that's a plus. Check them out, 17th and New York Avenues, N Wildwood.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Delicious food made with care in a low key atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner prepared the most delicious dishes that we thoroughly enjoyed with very fresh strawberries, perfect avocados, moist flaky salmon for the Strawberry salad, and the Beef kabobs were had juicy flavorful meat, and crisp onions and peppers with seasoned French fries and sauces.... We had the Beet Salad as our appetizer and it was a substantial portion and also very delicious! This is our families new go-to spot conveniently located on 17th and New York Ave in North Wildwood We can't wait to go back again and will definitely use this as our go-to take out spot as well... Definitely go check it out! More people need to discover his great food... It is BYO, so plan to bring your own alcoholic beverages if that's your thing, and they do take cash and credit with no surcharge.

I cannot say enough great things about this place! The owners are super friendly as well as the wait staff. Every item is cooked to order and you can tell because it is high quality food. The best homefries around and the fluffiest eggs. Also, I loved the french toast and waffle. My boyfriend and I are coming back to try some of their traditional dishes and we can't wait!

We have been here twice now. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. This place is outstanding. For dinner we got traditional Balkan fare for dinner, the mixed grill and tomato/cucumber/feta salad. Everything was fantastic. They also have a large kids menu and very reasonably priced. I hate spending $12 on a kids meal for my kids to pick at the food. Everything on their menu was $5-$10 (I think the kids salmon was $12, but it was a huge piece of salmon!) and my kids ate every bite. They have traditional Balkan food and also many American basics like short ribs, burgers, etc. We went back for breakfast a few weeks later. Also fantastic. Huge menu. Best omelette I've had in years. Kids got chocolate chip pancakes and stuffed French toast. Sooo good. Try the Turkish coffee! The couple who owns Balkan Fusion is so nice. They are extremely accommodating and take pride in the food they serve. We are so happy to have this new local gem in NWW.

We came for breakfast and will def be back! We arrived at 9:30am on Memorial Weekend and no one was in there. They are a newer place-hidden gem if you ask me. Food was delicious-had a little bit of everything. Eggs, toast, scrapple(not my fave but i think it was just the brand i didn't like-it was cooked perfectly though!), hash browns (stringy kind-yum!), chocolate pancakes with whipped cream, Nutella filled french toast(my husband and kids loved-i cant do that sweet in the morning!) and waffle with Nutella and bananas. Friendly staff, kid-friendly environment, kind owner. The ambiance wasn't the best but the music was good, staff were friendly and the food made it worth it! Cant wait to try their dinner and come back for another breakfast meal!

My son's Coast Guard graduation feast!

We came here with 6 hungry people after graduation and were greeted like family! Such a lovely couple running this restaurant. We ordered all of the appetizers, since my son is a Balkan food connoisseur and devoured everything before I could get a picture! The meats on the wooden plank were succulent, seasoned and totally authentic! Everything was so delicious. Desserts were an excellent way to finish this extraordinary meal. Honey cake and tulumba were an exciting finish. We all wished we lived closer. We'd be regulars! They lovingly wrapped up our leftovers and were so generous with their hospitality! Thank you for making our trip!

Being from Croatian and Macedonian decent, I told my family we had to go when I found this spot on Google. We went for breakfast, and they have homemade Ajvar and Burek. We were very pleased and will return for Cevapi. I'm so glad we came across this.

Surprisingly an awesome culinary find. We had no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. This place has your traditional American type foods ( burgers and sandwiches). But it is the typical Yugoslavian food that really shines. We had the traditional Yugoslavian grilled meat platter which included lamb sausage, beef patty, and boneless chicken thighs. It was all very delicious. You would think that it would be a heavy meal but the choice of meats were fresh and savory. We also had the cabbage with pork and bacon, again it was all very tasty. Both meals came with pita bread. It's a BYOB establishment, so bring a nice bottle of red to pair with all the savory meats. Don't forget to get the honey cake or Baklava for dessert- so yummy.

The service is shit! 1000/10 do not recommend. We had reached out ahead if time to ask if there'd be room for a decent size group on a Tuesday to watch a championship game. They had that on one tv then on the other tvs were highlights and then a regular season baseball game. We got there had, to ask numerous times to put the game on the tv where we were sitting. Then a smaller group who was there for the baseball game ended up asking the bartender to change the game sound to the baseball game. Which we were confused because we were told that we would be good had we asked the bartenders and the MOD was aware. Well that wasn't the case. Now for the food.... Well there's a few different things that were missing or just unacceptable. I had ordered wings which when ordering asked some clarifying question and even asked to sample the sauce to see if I could handle it. I got the sauce. Tried it and it was bearable that I could eat them with ranch/ blue cheese and handle it. Well when the food came out. They didn't even taste the same. They were dry and not very saucy and they tasted like they just had hot sauce on it. I even asked someone who likes hot sauces to taste both the sample of the sauce as well as the wing and he immediately said there was a difference. On top of that, they forgot sauce on one cheesesteak and a side of sauce for someone else's fries that was requested... When the server(bartender) came back after awhile I had said that I couldn't eat the wings as they were too spicy and had requested if I could get the truffle Parmesan INSTEAD. when I went to hand the plate back as I did not want to eat the wings. He had asked me if I wanted a box for them. I said well I can't eat them they're too spicy. And he again said I can get you a box and I said I mean I won't eat them though and again mentioned the box and I said I mean i guess but I can't eat them. I asked for the replacement because I could not eat them. And I was fully prepared to give them back to be replaced. I also stated to get the other wings boxed up. We immediately also asked for checks as we were already not happy with the situation ongoing. When I received my check it showed that I was getting charged for 2 orders of wings and not just one. I did not want two orders of wings. I wanted one order that I would be able to eat because I couldn't eat the initial order that was served to me. When he came back to grab checks I explained that I wanted the other wings to replace the wings I was served which was why I didn't want the box. The man looked at me like I was speaking a different fucking language. Then when I proceeded to ask him to just cancel the 2nd order of wings and fix my check to reflect such, he questioned it like he was stunned that I even bothered asking. And to top it all off, as we were leaving they smirked and laughed like it was funny that we had a bad experience. I have worked all of my life in customer service type positions whether that be serving, bartending or other services and honestly it was actually sad that we come there for the first time and it is fully going to be the last as well. Do better.

They have so many options and delicious combinations on the menu that it was difficult to commit to just one. I settled on the California which was warm lobster with drawn butter topped with wasabi-avocado-cucumber aioli sauce. It was loaded with melt in your mouth fresh giant chunks of lobster meat. It also came with a generous side of delicious tater tots, homemade coleslaw, and street corn which was nice and spicy too. While I was waiting they handed me a complementary homemade lobster bisque also loaded with lobster meat. It was fantastic. I took everything to go and enjoyed it on the beach....perfect. This is the second best! It is also the second most expensive. It does come with a side of tots, but I can do with out that. Staff is very friendly! As soon as you look their direction and look like you are walking towards them, they greet you. Which is pretty nice! I went with the Connecticut, because I love butter lol! I also added more meat! It was pretty good, no complaints on the size. The lobster was... ok? It was like they cleaned it earlier that morning, stuck the meat in the fridge, tossed it on the grill to warm it up, but the inside was cold and the outside was warm and dry. It could be that I just had a bad experience! My biggest issue is the lobster shells that I had in my lobster... so disappointing! I took pictures, but Yelp keeps removing them... I guess the owner pays them to keep taking down negative pictures? All in all, if you want lobster, go to Quincys 500 feet north of there next to ripleys... It is ok here, just watch out for the shells!
