We stopped by and the customer service is off the hook fantastic, we met Darlene, she has been here for over 19 years and knows the property like the back of her hand. She rented a unit to us but after further conversation realized our new address is in PB/ Pacific Beach. She said they have a facility closer to our home which in fact was only two blocks away and we are to new we didn't realize! She helped us secure an until at that location, she called for us and talked to their manager if that location to reserve a 10x10 unit. She didn't need to help us or call in our behalf but she did, this is fantastic. Service and such a nice person. Darlene, we wish you all the best health, happiness and success as you retire soon. Me & my friend wanted to share a storage unit - 1 month free great deal right? The door was giving us issues that we both brought to the attention of the property Comes closing time and I couldn't get my door to shut & lock completely When I finally manage to get the door locked I then proceeded to make my way down making sure I picked up any trash and I was accompanied by my dogs. And left. But because they saw that as me intentionally staying pass closing and kicked my friend & me out! Of our lease! Limited hours! And it's hard enough not having transportation but if the office is closed I can't move out??! Then I'm waiting downstairs for my ride and my DoorDash cause I'm extremely hungry and it's hot as fuck outside. I'm with my dogs mind you and they are giving me issues. I signed a lease and they wanna tell me that I didn't and then I wasn't on there and I told him who who did the lease would be one of the coworkers that was a male and they straight up, told me no, but when I confirmed with my friend that I was sharing the storage unit with he also confirmed that a man That worked at this facility employee a male employee did our lease and they were telling me that I was wrong and they were telling me that I didn't know what I was talking about and that they were just being like the way that they were talking about as if it doesn't matter like I was like dude we're trying to move the stuff out like why are you giving me issues like they are fucking really fucking foul like as soon as you're not fucking paying the money anymore they don't give a fuck about you like they really are fucking something. Don't fucking rent here. Honestly, I hope this place burns to the ground for the way they fucking treated me For just waiting for my food because it was hot outside. read more

This place is wonderful. I've had a number of storage units in other places, and none compare to this A1 facility. It is remarkably clean, well maintained, well lit, safe and never a problem of any kind. That is so rare. The staff are friendly, helpful, and are always there during operating hours. And the manager, Darlene, is just a doll. She always has a smile and a can do attitude. I looked at other A1 places in the area, and this one stood out as the nicest. For someone who has moved 12 times, I can attest to a myriad of experiences with storage facilities. But I'm not gonna waste time writing about past horror stories or even mediocre ones. Darlene and her crew are best of the best! They treat their facility like a home. Meticulously clean, secure yet welcoming. We only needed a unit for one month. Darlene was so friendly and thorough during check in. And while moving in one late afternoon, Karina from the office, sensed that I worried about moving carts not being available for the next day, July 4th. Not knowing the process of reserving carts, Karina instead approached me and asked if I needed one for the holiday and informed me of what to do next. Thank you Karina! Another time, my husband made a mistake of entering the open glass doors without punching in on the keypad. The alarms went off and within seconds I got a call from the office, Karina again, asking if either one of us entered without using the keypad. I apologized of course and made sure my husband doesn't do it again. Whoa this place is safe! I love that we finally found an excellent storage facility. Moving can often be a stressful time. And temporarily storing your valuables is often an important part of the process. For me at least important things I look for when I rent a storage space are convenient location and access whenever I need to visit my unit, security and cost. It's also important to have a helpful friendly staff. Darlene and Karina at the Hotel Circle South location made the entire move-in process very easy. That's one less thing I need to worry about as I move. The Hotel Circle South location is not only close to where I'm moving, it's also very easy to access from either the east or west 8 freeway. Access times are from 6 am to 10 pm daily, including holidays. That's perfect for me. Security? They've got you covered. Cameras in strategic locations, keypad access, motion sensing lights in the corridors and security sensors on every unit door. Wide elevators and large format trolleys. Incredibly clean inside and out. And price? Incredibly reasonable as far as I'm concerned. I'm paying almost the same amount I paid for a similar side unit in north county close to 30 years ago. So if you find yourself moving from point A to point B in the future, make sure you check out A1 Self Storage. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is mainly for the customer service at this location since there are several places around town to store stuff. It's nice that the associates here try to be helpful whenever possible whether you're an enthusiastic collector or looking to declutter your living space, but not quite ready to let go of such precious things. I didn't know that you are supposed to punch in your code into the building's security keypad each and every time before accessing your storage unit, even if someone else was holding the building door open to move their stuff. We got a courtesy call from the office a few minutes after I unlocked the roll top door to get at my hoarder pile. She called us to make sure thieves weren't breaking into our storage unit. That was reassuring. We initially chose this place because it was freeway accessible and we needed a temporary solution for our extra crap while moving into a different place across town. Prices seemed reasonable at the time and there was a move-in special as new customers. Not pleased that we got hit with a rent hike, but the higher monthly rent did help motivate us to get our stuff moved out sooner than later. My only other observations were the few accessible parking spaces in front of the east entrance and an oddly slanted surface at that same entryway. Three narrow parking spaces plus a precariously uneven incline through the security door can be a challenge. We've been fortunate not to have to push an overloaded cart around the long way to the other entrance because of no clear pathway for push carts when the east side parking is full. Additional notables: +clean, spacious facility with some convenient moving supplies and additional business services available +free coffee, water, and m&m's candy in the office +other freebies with yelp check-in. -random characters wandering around nearby at times -narrow pathways between storage units. Pray that your neighbor doesn't have their stuff blocking the aisle and it's tough to squeeze a pushcart past another ++imma mention the nice employees working there again A1 Storage is worth checking out. If you're unsure about what size room to rent, then they'll show you their sample storage unit with the wall that slides back to compare dimensions there instead of wandering around to see different rooms. read more

I had a very tough experience moving yesterday. I was having problems with contacting anyone at a different location. I was unable to get in or unload my Uhaul due to the morena location's office being closed. My day was ruined until I called this location and spoke with Darlene who was extremely sweet and helpful on the phone. She single handedly saved the day and dealt with all of my issues in minutes time. She went out of her way to bring a lock from a different location and meet me. Not only this but she came back a second time to help. She was so wonderful and apt in service. I am thankful for her and the management at the Hotel Circle location. P.s.
