Used Pacific Highway Storage since Jan of 2020 and it's been awesome. We recently had an awful experience and had to move out of an apartment ASAP, and they were able to get us 2 huuuge units, ground level, right next to each other; AND right next to the door. The girl working in the office was super helpful in making everything easy and convenient for us. I never got the vibe that there were people making meth or anything inside their units and it always felt safe, despite the inherently creepy vibe of storage unit places. Great place, super clean, good rates. Would rent again (but hopefully never have to). read more

Had a great experience with this storage company the entire time. All of the people that work here are super nice and Ken was a very happy and upbeat guy from beginning to end. The only reason it is not five stars is because when I put my very expensive couch in my storage unit it was grey and now taking my couch out of the storage unit my couch is a lavender/purple but only where it was exposed and didn't have anything touching it. When I told the office about it they seems to feel somewhat bad that it happened but didn't really have anything to say other then that they don't put chemicals in the vents and they have never seen it before. read more

Like most below, until two days ago (8/25/15) I had nothing but good things to say about this business. They were helpful, personable, and the facilities seemed clean and secure. I held this opinion thoughout the ~9 months I leased from them. However, things have gone south in the 3 days since. After depositing my life's possessions in their care, I moved interstate for work. Last week - with the indispensable help of Kris (a manager here) I arranged for an independent shipper to clear my unit and mail the contents to me. To save costs, I gave the shipper a small list of furniture he could keep - including a white antique wood desk. After picking up my things, the shipper called to notify me the desk was water damaged and that Kris had volunteered to get rid of it. Since I told the shipper he could keep the desk, I didn't really care and thanked him for the call. My belongings arrived a couple days later. I hired 3 movers to unload. The first thing I noticed that was off was a yellow water-stained pillow. I told the movers what the shipper had said about the desk and that they could just throw the pillow away. The movers acquiesced but noted I should really call the storage company. I declined and decided to write off the pillow (I told them this). Then they brought in a previously all-white foam-roller I used to PT a back injury that was now entirely yellow and had a lot of mold. The movers noted it was disgusting, and it was. It was in perfect condition when I stored it. I took a picture of this one. After bringing in nearly everything the movers said I needed to come out and see my mattress (which was less than a year old when stored). It looks like several people peed on it (huge/deep yellow stains). After this I called PHS sameday - the mattress was new and expensive. Kris answered and said she would look into the cause of this damage and talk to upper management about compensating me - while also noting that my contract with them may have disclaimed ALL of their liability for damaging my property. I asked if that meant they would have been blameless had they gone in and set my property on fire. Kris said no, ...but not convincingly. Since then I've started opening boxes and all of my linens, pillows, and towels are ruined. With the mattress, this is at least a $4,000 loss. A handful of blouses were also ruined and i haven't finished unpacking. Yesterday Kris emailed a kind of non-response follow-up that failed to address the cause of this extensive damage. A couple relevant photos to-date have been uploaded. PHS has already seen these. I guess just beware if you rent here. read more

We have two units with these guys. We have been very happy with the service and rate. They have auto pay and take credit cards which is super convenient. We have been here over a year and are quite pleased. We have two 10x10 units and they have high ceilings and are super clean and never have to worry about my stuff getting dirty or having bugs or cobwebs (I'm also in the units often moving stuff around downsizing) Would recommend :) read more

Horrible customer service and business hours. The staff threw my open house in dumpster and didn't bother calling phone number on sign and double check name if they belong to tenant. I complained to management and they told me I'm lucky I didn't get charge $250 for throwing my signs away. You would think they would give you courtesy call before disposing the signs. read more

I love this place. The staff is incredibly nice and awesome to hangout with. I'm a brand new business owner. With few resources, I have to save money by using their conference room as office space. They have a great setup inside that allows for private meetings. They also have a nice kitchen in the space that allows people to cook food or enjoy beverages and entertain guests. The staff has been incredibly supportive in helping my business by telling their friends and offering support on Social Media. I've never met a storage place that does that. This place offers a discount if u give a 5 star yelp review. That's why there are so many good ones. The elevators stay open for 1 second which makes it impossible to load it up with 1-2 ppl. If u get a unit that's far away from the elevator you will spend hours walking down hallways. It's clean though, and in a good location. The place is ok, but it's definitely shady their bribing ppl for yelp reviews. read more

Pacific Highway Storage (PHS) has accommodated my needs and it still does! The location is definitely a win-win for me because the convenience of it --that its close to my work where I can easily pick up/store in items when heading to and fro work when ever I need to. I have experienced w/ other storage places and this storage facility definitely tops it. Unlike other places, this place has a super fancy office where you get a visual picture of what size storage that will accommodate your items/possessions that way you can narrow down what will fit in the room you choose. Unlike other storage places, PHS definitely provides their clienteles w/ a hassle/stress free environment (i.e. free truck transportation (w/in 10 mile radius) w/ a driver that may help you move your items, also, if you decide to get the second floor unit (or a storage unit that may require some walking from your car) they provide you w/ a large push cart to stack handful of items on it. And the reviewers are true to their word when they say that the staff are helpful and nice because they really are! I have met w/ Debbie & Kris (who attentively did my paperwork w/ no hassle) and Ken, who is fairly new, will bend backward to do whatever it takes to help you (and I am sure the rest of the staff will,too). All in all, so far, I am pleased with the outcome of what this place provides. Even my boyfriend, who came with me to unload my boxes, was amazed how clean/secured this place was and had recommend it to many of his relatives! This is a great storage place! This place is nice in all the way storage places are usually not: They're supposed to be dirty and kind of sketchy - this place is like a spaceship inside, all stainless steel and white enamel... The staff is supposed to be rude and/or scary - Here they're very friendly and professional. The halls are supposed to be dark, not, and stinky - Here it's cool, bright and clean inside. The units are clean and not worn at all. No plywood walls and narrow winding corridors, all roomy with metal and concrete. Even the non-air conditioned areas are comfortable in the summer. Always pretty good tunes playing to make it more pleasant to work in your unit. They even have wine tastings, an occasional 'garage sale day" between tenants, and other events - not like a typical bare bones place. I've rented various units there since 2011 and I'm really glad I found this place. The quality is great and the prices are on par with other storage (especially right on the coast), and it's in a really convenient location near the junction of I-8, I-5, and PCH. read more

I was the first to review this place and can't believe I am still here!!! One of the reasons I am here is because the people have changed but the friendly service is still there. They always seem to be in a good and welcoming mood!! The Air-Conditioned buildings are a blessing, since we seem to have so many of these heat waves now??? I hate getting things out and bringing them back in the heat, so once inside the building, the air-conditioning takes the stress down and it becomes a better experience. Ease of coming and going is great. Plus the security of the gate and of course the great location are some of the reasons why this place is Awesome!! Thanks for being a step above the others, I have no reason to leave, unless I move away or take the time to actualy go thru my stuff!!! yeah right!! One other thing, this place is very very clean. Clean and secure storage units! No hassle, easy access. Very safe. Included a moving truck with driver (FREE OF CHARGE) came to my house & back to the storage unit. Recommend to anyone. Good pricing. Great facility with great hours. Lack of some lighting when it gets dark need a flashlight if you store some stuff on the outside but other then that it's a secure place to have your stuff. I haven't had any problems with the storage. read more

Very unprofessional. Walked in and a woman was eating an orange in the customer chair which we presume is the manager. While talking to the associate that works the the same lady while eating her orange kept interjecting in our conversation. Was going to sign up and asked about the special online as well as the one on the building and the associate told us it no longer was valid they haven't had it for months. As we head back into the office after seeing the unit he asked the manager ( lady eating the orange) if we could get that offer. She said only if we pay the 2nd month up front as well.... I would never sign up for the storage after being treated like an inconvenience to them... imagine how we would of been treated as tenants... do yourself a favor and check out storage etc on Sherman I went there and was treated soo much better. read more

Pacific Highway Storage pretty much saved my life. Or at least my sanity for that matter. Let's just say, their excellent customer service and nice facilities really take them above and beyond your average storage facility! So I was having a really rough couple of weeks. I was in between housing (nice way to say homeless and couch surfing haha) and I finally decided I had to suck it up, and put my stuff in storage. I couldn't keep lugging it from place to place while I house hunted. I was seriously upset and felt so defeated from my situation...not fun. I found this place using a combination of Google and Yelp. This is important, because I want you to know that I did price hunt. Pacific Highway Storage had either very comparable prices or the best available, and when cross-referenced with their high Yelp reviews, it was a no-brainer! Pam was working that day, and she was so so so so so nice and empathetic. I cannot stress that enough. I was having like the worst two weeks of my life, and she was this amazing ray of sunshine, coming from the most unexpected place. She helped me choose a size using their in-office storage space demo units, and was able to get me the last small storage unit they had available. She walked me to my new storage unit, showed me how to open it, and showed me how to enter and exit the facility. This is important for storage-newbies like myself. Yes, I needed somebody to hold my hand a bit. Some other cool bonuses: they have a free moving truck for local moves! They only have 2 times a day they are available, so you need to schedule it in advance. The actual storage area is really nice, at a normal temperature, well lit, clean, in good condition, and secure. You need a code to enter the facility, and a code to use the elevators. They have carts for your usage as well. They do have hours where they are closed at night, and I believe they charge for you to access your items after hours. No biggie for me, but just so you know. When parking within the facility, well...I wasn't quite sure where to park. I didn't want to block the lower level units, and there was a no parking sign in front of the elevators. I think most people just park in front of the units, but I could be wrong. Another customer got a little weird with me about the parking, but it was my fault and she was parked in front of the no parking sign. So in conclusion, I still don't know where to park haha, but that was the only thing that happened, and it was with a customer, not a staff member. As a matter of fact, when I call them to pay my bill, I think I will ask where the best place to park is :) And there ya have it! An awesome storage facility in San Diego that really helped a girl in need. Yes you get a little reward for writing a review, but I would have given them 5 stars anyway. My partner and I downsized, we needed a place to store our extra stuff. We searched and searched and weren't really happy with any of the facilities in San Diego - they were either to $$$$ (yes, I know, it's what the market can sustain!), or they weren't very well maintained or secure. We found Pacific Highway storage to be the right combination of a VERY reasonable price with an extremely well-maintained and secure facility. We like that this facility is climate-controlled and pest-controlled, and that access is HIGHLY restricted, even between floors. Our only downsides - and admittedly, they are personal - is that it is not located close to us and it isn't open 24 hours. Minor issues we were well aware of, and certainly not deal breakers. If you are looking for a long-term storage facility in San Diego, I HIGHLY recommend this place!! read more

5 stars all the way! Larry and Julie were awesome during my rental acquisition and move-in earlier this month. I found Pacific Highway Storage through Google. They were offering excellent move-in specials (WAY cheaper than anywhere else I looked, and I looked at a lot of places), so I called, then went by to check them out. I met with Larry, one of the managers there, who is a great guy with a good sense of humor. He was very helpful and courteous. He showed me different storage units and let me pick the location I wanted. Before going to see this place, I looked them up here (on Yelp); the reviews were mostly very good, but I found one that concerned me. Someone mentioned that their rent was raised...? When I mentioned it to Larry, he said that he wasn't familiar with that happening, but also that he was fairly new, so he put a note in my file to ensure that my rent doesn't get raised for at least a year. Upon move-in, they allowed me late gate access for one night because they knew I was driving up to LA to pack all of my things in a U-Haul truck and driving back down the same day. That was a HUGE help for me! They didn't have to allow me late access, but that really says something about their customer service. Speaking of which... When we arrived with all of my stuff, it was right around 7:00pm. The office had closed at 6:00 that night, but Julie was still there, so she came by to introduce herself and make sure everything was alright. Thank God she was still there because, when I went up to my unit, I realized that I had underestimated the size I needed. Julie was gracious enough to swap me out to a new, larger unit in the same area I had selected before, even though the office was closed. Another way they went above and beyond to help me. Larry and Julie made a very stressful couple of days a little easier and I am very grateful to have found this place with such a great staff. ***** WHAT THEY OFFER/ EASE OF SERVICE ***** They offer self-storage units of all sizes, as well as vaults and wine storage that are temperature controlled. They have duplicate sized units in their lobby, so you can get a visual if you don't want to walk the grounds to see one. This is a very nice and rare option for customers. You can reserve units on-line instead of having to go in ahead of time. You can pay your bill on-line, in person, via mail or set up automatic payments. They have a FREE moving truck and driver (huge plus!) for new tenants of larger units. Check with them for the details on that. The grounds are extremely clean and accessible. They have several carts to help you move your items. The gates are secure and they appear to have a great security system in place. And of course, the OUTSTANDING customer service I received! I just completed a year and a half of renting there, and moved out because of my move to LA. The units and facility were clean, staff pleasant, and best of all, NO constant rent increases like other places. Gate codes always worked, nice little bathroom on site for the customers, and the rents were in line with what you would expect for the units. This place was convenient for me on my way home from work, so all in all, it was a good fit. Last little thing, I had a second floor unit, which is cheaper, but I thought might be a pain. That said, they leave plenty of hand trucks and dollies around, and considering the price difference, I think the second floor is the way to go. read more

I rented a storage unit here from July until last Saturday. This rating is not based on the price or the quality of the unit itself - as those standards were pretty good. This rating, is however, based on the TERRIBLE customer service from the manager Julie. I have worked in customer service so I think have a pretty good understanding of how you should treat your customer. She was insulting, accusing and just plain rude. To explain a little further, when I went there Saturday to move all of my stuff, the key to my lock was not working. Rather than being sympathetic or apologetic, she was snappy and assumed it must be something I did for it to not be working. She proceeded to charge me a $25 dollar fee and refused to open my unit until I paid. When I asked for someone else I could talk to she insisted she was the top person there. Everyone has a boss though, so I kept asking and eventually got his name and number. After the whole debacle, her employees that had witnessed the exchange came over to my unit to apologize for her behavior!!! I felt like apologizing to them for having to work with such an awful person. To sum it up - the units are good and the price is fair (I had promotional pricing) but I would never ever rent here again just because of her. I would rather pay more money and receive GOOD customer service than deal with someone who clearly hates their job. (p.s. Julie's manager was very apologetic when I described the situation to him over the phone --- but it still doesn't changed what happened. WHY IS SHE STILL WORKING THERE?) read more

Way cheaper than Public Storage, and they offer a truck and driver if you are moving within the area. I'm paying $75 for the same size storage I had at Public Storage for $115. Yeah.. it wasn't a hard decision to make. Also, the storage halls are well lit, and air conditioned unlike PS. They do referrals, and give military and student discounts. I moved in over a month ago and I'm satisfied with the clean storage facility, high level of security, competitive prices, available carts, etc. But this review is all about the staff. Pam was very friendly when setting up my account, showing me the units, etc. I rented a unit and went to drive my friend's truck over to unload... but the p.o.s. truck wouldn't start. Embarrassed and stressed, I walked back inside to ask if they had jumper cables. Kris had a pair and was very willing to go above and beyond, offering her own car to help. The jump didn't work so she even drove me to and from a nearby auto parts store. Yadda yadda, the truck eventually started and I unloaded it. Btw, the unit I got was recently fitted with a wheelchair accessible strap to open the door - making it super easy to open when standing as well. I didn't need to even bend down and I'm 6'2". Summary: Both ladies were very friendly and shared a great "can-do" attitude, going above and beyond to make my experience a good one despite the hiccups. It's about more than just the bottom line to them - their high standard of customer service, or just being good people, earned this company my 5 star rating. Technical Difficulties: I made a reservation and paid online a few days prior to moving in. But when I showed up, they had no record of it. I checked my bank account and saw the payment was processed. So they hunted down the reservation in the computer - a flawed system for sure - and applied the original payment accordingly. Apparently they have since revamped the "reserve & pay online" feature because this issue had come up before. This added about 30 minutes to my wait. They were both apologetic and genuinely concerned about giving me a positive experience. Now over a month later, I got a call from Pam about a billing issue. My grace period of non-payment was about to end. (WTF?!) I had filled out the auto pay form when I moved in, but for some reason it didn't process correctly. Over the phone, I reminded Pam about it and she was able to complete the payment. Again, apologizing for the technical difficulty. Conclusion: Stuff happens but a business' perceived value is heavily influenced by the customer service you receive from its employees. Pacific Highway Storage is staffed by at least two good people. So this is my all time favorite storage unit facility...It sounds weird, but I have used so many storage unit facilities over the years and I like this one best of all. I have had to store stuff for about 5 years since relocating all over southern California (2010). The place is clean, the staff (Ken) is very flexible and really nice! Its the kind of place that gives you piece of mind. Many storage facilities are very scetchy, dirty and low security. This one is always clean, well-kept, and good security despite the neighborhood. Our company Injoy Entertainment was home to Pac Hwy Storage for 6+ months. The only reason for our move was to be closer to home. Extremely professional staff, clean facility, 24 hour access was amazing for our late gig load outs and long nights at the office. We've had problems lately with our mail being forwarded and unfortunately they are still being inundated with receiving our mail. They have been so nice to follow up with us telling us that they're still receiving our mail. They could easily just dump our mail into the trash but they go out of their way to let us know. I recently relocated from San Francisco to San Diego and was in need of a storage facility in the area while I was in between houses. A friend had told me about Pacific Highway storage so I booked a reservation online. When I arrived with a Uhaul after a long 8 hour drive, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the facilities were and how close it was to the freeway. The staff was very friendly and were able to check me in very quickly as they had been expecting me. Not only was the facility very clean, it had air conditioning and a great security system making it not only highly secure but very easy to access. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in San Diego who has storage needs. read more
