Great food and lattes. I've had the apple pie latte previously back in the fall, which prompted me to come back again today. I knew they didn't have the apple pie latte, so I asked the associate if there was any seasonal flavors or recommendations she had. She suggested the campfire latte, which is the best choice for a dreary day. I also ordered the Bada Bing Bada Boom without peppers, which is a very well put together sandwich. You can tell by the taste that the ingredients are fresh. Great service as well. The brownie points for me writing this review is that the owner said a appreciation comment about law enforcement and it made me happy hearing this comment considering I am a wife of an officer. The menu made it so hard to decide as I wanted everything. I finally decided on the Chunky Dunk and no regrets other than I couldn't finish it. I paired it with the potato salad which I LOVED. I'm usually meh about restaurant potato salad but always have high hopes. I also added the Red Pepper ans Smoked Gouda Soup. Hubby choice on that one as I'm not a Pepper fan. I think I ended up eating more of it than him it was so yummy. This place is absolutely a keeper and I can't wait to come back and try more! read more

We stumbled across this place while walking through Occoquan and we're SO glad we stopped here! Everyone loved their food and we were able to find a cute place to sit in the shade and enjoy our meal! -Bada Bing Bada Boom: great sandwich! All the different toppings meshed well together and the rosemary focaccia bread was the perfect way to tie it all together. -La-Di-Da: very tasty sandwich with some unique flavors! This one was a little too sweet for me personally to be able to eat an entire one of these sandwiches, but my mom really enjoyed it! -Back on the Ranch (weekly special): this one was a big hit! Chicken and bacon were good quality, and all the flavors went well together- tasted like an elevated chicken sandwich with fresh ingredients! -Watermelon Rose Mint Italian soda: I wasn't sure how I felt about this at first, but after a few sips I really enjoyed it and it was a perfect refreshing drink for a hot day. The best sandwiches I've had in a while! I don't know if this is new or not, but my husband and I spotted it while walking through Occoquan. It's located at a small stand nearby Riverfront park. There is a bench and an outdoor seating space, but in general, this place is meant for a grab and go sandwich spot. I ordered the reuben, and my husband ordered the hogan's hero, along with a latte. Both sandwiches were delicious, along with the latte! My son, who is a very picky eater, loved both sandwiches as well..that's saying a lot! The service was very slow and I really got tired of hearing the young man behind the counter that seemed to be the only one cooking yelling at the other 3-4 staff just standing around... and then yelling out order numbers to be picked up. He started getting annoyed when orders weren't getting picked up, and finally one of the staff came inside and yelled back that customers sitting outside don't know their orders are ready because the speakers outside weren't working. The place wasn't slammed, but I do know they take online orders and there was a steady flow of customers coming in for pick-ups. 20+ minutes later I see one of the staff that was just standing around start making one of our cold cut sandwiches and another 5 minutes later our entire order was ready. Unfortunately, my sides were incorrect but I didn't notice until we started driving away. The sandwiches we ordered were delicious, generous sizes, and packed well for to-go, but not worth the wait for next time. My iced latte could have been better but wasn't iced cold and instead room temperature. The Italian sodas weren't good, but honestly probably just not our thing. I was expecting more of a bubbly slightly sweet soda, but tasted more bitter club soda and there wasn't enough ice to keep them cold. read more

Way too many diners on a Saturday morning in August to get a seat in one of the other boutique eateries, the Ballywhack Shack to the rescue! This place is a small gem in this small town. My wife ordered the Bada Bing Bada Boom and I got the Down the Shore. Bada Bing Bada Boom has a great Mayo/pesto sauce. Ciabatta bread is nice and crispy. Great sandwich. Yes it maybe a little more expensive than a potbelly but I rather pay the little extra and help a local business. We've been in Nova for a good 20 years and seldom have made it to southern Fairfax but with High School Crew Regattas at Sandy Spring Park we've had the opportunity to visit the Occoquan Historic District a few times which is a nice area to grab a bite/go for a walk/enjoy the weather. We've been to a few of the sit down brunch joints and they are a good place for an outdoor meal on the patio. If you don't have much time and want to avoid the local chains I'd recommend Ballywhack. The sandwich options all sound pretty good and I went with the Bada Bing which is a nice take on the standard Turkey sandwich with avocado, roasted peppers, arugula and a pesto on focaccia. Nice fresh ingredients and healthy. Had a drip coffee which had good flavor also. It really is a shack so no place really to eat but you can grab a bench or walk down to the Mill park and enjoy the river and wildlife. read more

This place is easy to walk right past since it's so small, but don't do that! It was delicious!! When I tried what they call 'pumpkin' in a latte syrup, I was so surprised how fresh it tasted- it was like actual pumpkin instead of a baked feeling. There's a regular menu, but the weekly specials are usually worth trying. Minus one star for the fact that all their seating is outside and mostly upstairs. Great if it's a nice day and available, but I consider this a grab and go location. I had the BLT (can't remember the name of it) and added avocado. It was delicious! There was an aioli on it that was a nice touch. Service was relatively quick given it was run by only 2 people with lots of orders being placed. It was a little expensive, $14ish dollars for a sandwich, chips, and a water but it's supporting a small business so I didn't mind! We managed to find a table to sit at but sandwich was well put together so easily could've eaten it on my lap on a park bench. Seriously awesome sandwiches!! Wow yum. This is a cute little walk up shack in downtown Occoquan. We stopped last weekend for the first time and you just find a bench and grab your sandwich. Stopped by after a nice, leisurely kayak trip on the Occoquan. We were hungry and my Super Special Hot Dog (with home made slaw, home made chili) was incredible! The bun was perfect (not too small, just big enough to hold all the yummy ingredients) and fresh. Their menu reads like a fine dining restaurant and they have amazing fresh drinks as well.
