Fun place to stay on the cheap. The cabin cost us around $50/night after tax. Very simple platform…read more No frills, just like a real cabin. Don't expect to be staying at the Hiltons . Expect to be staying at your grandpa's cabin. Not perfect, but clean and lots of character. Pros: The view is great. The rooms are cheap. Close to amenities but not in town. Cable tv. Excellent 4G cell signal in the area on Verizon. Cons : Wooden walls with no insulation so the cars on the major road in front of the cabins can easily be heard. Heat is electric toaster heaters so if it's cold it may take a while to get the room warm. Poorly lit parking behind the cabins. All In all an excellent experience for the price. If we end up in the U.P. again we will definitely be staying there!

Be ware of deceiving website that make you think you can see Mackinaw Bridge - NOT TRUE. . You can relax there if you enjoy natural sounds of cars and trucks passing by. When my wife made a reservation she was told to make it NOW, BECAUSE CABINS GO LIKE CRAZY and they have only 1 available left. When we came to see it only 1 cabin was taken (poor people). When we stopped by to say we will not stay in this disaster guy said he will charge us for one night anyway because they have 24h cancellation policy. STAY AWAY PEOPLE - STAY AWAY!!!

The balcony faced the lake for amazing sunrises and the side faced the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. We were there end of May beginning of June and the weather was high 60s/low 70s so the heated pool was so nice. The hot tub even nicer! The room was clean and spacious! The staff was amazing. So nice, accommodating. Bed was very comfortable but like all hotel rooms, the pillows were too soft for me. The room had a small fridge and microwave as well as a single cup coffee maker. The breakfast was good. Hot breakfast but still a hotel breakfast. Again, the staff so nice and accommodating! Always asking if you need anything. Each night there is a lakeside bonfire with s'mores! 5 min walk to the Sheplers ferry or if you tell the front desk, they will order you a shuttle so you don't have to pay the crazy prices!!!

Our economy room had two queen beds, a refrigerator, microwave with a terrace overlooking the pool. Our room was dated but very clean, quiet and sufficient for two nights. There was plenty of free parking. The motel was right on Lake Huron, the Straits of Mackinac. We are a five minute walk to the ferry to Mackinac Island. Breakfast was served until 10 o'clock in the morning. It was very busy with big groups of children under five and seniors; an interesting mix. There were three waffle makers with assorted toppings, coffee, frozen pastries, yogurt, biscuits & gravy, eggs & bacon. There was an indoor & an outdoor pool, coin operated washing machines, fitness center, nightly bonfire and playground on the premises. A golf cart shuttled seniors & children around the property.
