I've been here twice now on 2 different visits to Portland and I'm completely obsessed. I can't leave without ordering too many things to bring back home and freeze. They have an incredible variety of goodies, as well as drinks, and savory breakfast and lunch foods. The shop is small and not air conditioned in the summer, but everything is so great that it doesn't even matter. The employees are very helpful and are happy to answer any questions or make recommendations. Overall, this is a gluten free heaven and I can't wait to go back again. It's so unfortunate when good businesses have bad management. Up until recently I would have given a 5 star review to Bam bam bakery. The baked goods are still excellent I wish I could say that about customer service. With the exception of the fantastic woman with spiky blonde hair who is absolutely wonderful. The manager I spoke with was so rude, I downloaded yelp to warn others. It's a real shame. Hopefully the owner sees this and makes some changes to the team before they loose more customers. read more

Bam Bam Bakery is the kind of place to remember your name, your order, and your kids' names. The last time I went, they greeted me with "Couldn't resist coming back?" The food is incredible. Wow, what a find. This bakery is completely gluten-free, with some items even dairy free. We came away with a loaf of the honey white bread, a slice of blueberry breakfast cake, a blueberry and cardamom roll, an apple cinnamon mini bundt cake, a chocolate whoopie pie, and a sourdough baguette. This spot is SO yummy!!! They have a ton of baked goods and varieties to choose from; everything is fresh. There is also a couple options for breakfast sandwiches, and premade pot pies, mac & cheese, soup, etc to bring home. There are also loaves for sale which are around $15. I want to try the pumpkin one next time! Keep in mind it is small, there's minimal seating and parking. Sometimes if you order food it can take a good 20 minutes. Bam Bam Bakery, offering entirely gluten-free food options, has found a home in Falmouth filling a gap in our food scene in Greater Portland! Whatever you're looking for - pies, whoopie pies, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, lemon squares, needhams, brownies, eclairs, tiramisu, breakfast sandwiches, and breads - they have it... and more (it's important to note that selection may vary depend on [time of] day)! Many of these options are even vegan. I've tried several of their both gluten-free and vegan options now, but unfortunately they just aren't for me. The peanut butter fudge, the turnover-like pastry, and the chocolate raspberry tart I had were all so, so grainy in texture. I found them to be surprisingly hard to bite into as well (y'know, when you have to use your side teeth just to nibble something off?)! I understand I'm not their demographic (I'm plant-based, not GF), so - going against the grain here - to me it all definitely tastes like gluten-free baked goods and I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. Quite possibly our favorite GF bakery on the planet, this place never fails to disappoint. We were super bummed when they closed after the pandemic in the Old Port and then surprisingly popped back up in Falmouth just a short drive away from my MIL. We loaded up twice on goodies last week when we were in town for our annual summer sojourn. All the baked goods are excellent and the coffees were really good as well. Be sure to hit up the day old, half price basket at check out for a deal too. Myself, not being gluten free, didn't really take to the breakfast sandwich texture as much as I might have liked, but I tried the avocado toast with an egg the second visit and that hit the spot really nicely. Can't say enough good things about this place and definitely the one place we make a point of getting to when we're in town! read more

The baked goods are absolutely amazing. If you didn't know they were gluten-free you would never guess it, and they taste so good it is hard to believe they are gluten free. Every baked item is exactly as it should...rich and delicious, moist, flaky, chewy...all the best things about every item. I've tried to whoopie pies, the carrot cake, the lobster tail, the pizza slices, the cupcakes. I need to go back to try more! Counter service is efficient and friendly. I have a severe gluten allergy (celiac) and live about 10 minutes from Bam Bam. Many bakeries offer very limited gluten free options, but this place has an amazing selection! Food is good quality and is reasonably priced! Service is fast and staff are very friendly! Bam Bam has a small but cute building leading to a very comfortable space. The BEST item I got was a cinnamon bun, and I got it right out of the oven The other items were the lemon bar, whoopie pie, raspberry almond breakfast cake, coconut bread, breakfast sandwich, and a pack of frozen bagels. Everything was a hit, but bagels would be at the bottom of the list. There's a small area to eat and enjoy your finds. A lot of people seemed to order to-go and they might even take pre-orders. This place is a joke. I came in to support a local business, bought a breakfast sandwich and a pastry, and asked for a simple glass of tap water--only to be charged for it. Seriously? Charging customers for tap water is greedy and ridiculous. It says a lot about a business when they're more focused on squeezing every last cent than treating people with basic decency. Excellent, tasty, yet creative offerings. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Although it closes at 3, I've found the kitchen to only be open until 2. Great tuna fish sandwich. I had a slice of very flavorful and hearty coconut bread, and tried bites of a few other items my family members ordered, like a breakfast sandwich and pumpkin/chocolate chip bread. As a person with several allergies, it's difficult to find a place that I can enjoy goodies. When we visit new places we always try to find a place like this. We are not celiac but this is a complete gluten free bakery that also has vegan options, which is great because I can't do dairy or eggs either. Things are clearly marked vegan, nuts( I can't ingest cashews or peanuts either) and if you have any questions the staff was super friendly and helpful. On my 3rd attempt to find them open, I entered and there was no greeting employee. It was 2:40, and the available bakery items were looking tired and unappealing. A friendly woman finally came over. I ordered the tuna sandwich posted on the menu board. She replied that they could not provide this because they closed at 3. (!!) The baked goods I looked at were unappealing. Had an absolutely delicious blt with avocado on their delicious homemade bread. The baby ate a giant brownie which he loved and our friend had an amazing cinnamon roll. They've got such a great variety of cookies, bars, cheesecakes, savory items like pot pies, bagels, breads, pop tarts, all gluten free! And for vegans they've got multiple vegan items as well.
