    Loaded apple strudel - wow
    Brien M.

My partner LOVES the cinnamon rolls. I like the breakfast cake but today I fell in love with their apple strudel. GF or not, they're amazing bakers.

Wow, what a find. This bakery is completely gluten-free, with some items even dairy free. We came away with a loaf of the honey white bread, a slice of blueberry breakfast cake, a blueberry and cardamom roll, an apple cinnamon mini bundt cake, a chocolate whoopie pie, and a sourdough baguette. So far the sourdough baguette, and whoopie pie have been amazing.

Bam Bam Bakery, offering entirely gluten-free food options, has found a home in Falmouth filling a gap in our food scene in Greater Portland! Whatever you're looking for - pies, whoopie pies, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, lemon squares, needhams, brownies, eclairs, tiramisu, breakfast sandwiches, and breads - they have it... and more (it's important to note that selection may vary depend on [time of] day)! Many of these options are even vegan. I've tried several of their both gluten-free and vegan options now, but unfortunately they just aren't for me. The peanut butter fudge, the turnover-like pastry, and the chocolate raspberry tart I had were all so, so grainy in texture. I found them to be surprisingly hard to bite into as well (y'know, when you have to use your side teeth just to nibble something off?)! I understand I'm not their demographic (I'm plant-based, not GF), so - going against the grain here - to me it all definitely tastes like gluten-free baked goods and I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. If you are their demographic however, you'll probably be delighted to have a bakery where you can get some classic treats! And for reasonable prices too!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. So many options to choose from. The fresh smells of baked goods in the air and knowing I could eat any of it being gluten free. They also have vegan options. I grabbed a bagel breakfast sandwich and a warm cinnamon roll which was to die for. I even bought a pie for later

Love this spot so much...I'm here almost daily. YES, EVERYTHING! Is gluten free The brownies are my absolute favorite, but they have hot sandwiches (yes, with GF buns), pizza and tons of premade items ready for the taking! The staff is always so helpful and happy

Such a wonderful gluten free bakery! Can't wait to go back! So many delicious options! I ordered a variety of things and I was not disappointed. The BEST item I got was a cinnamon bun, and I got it right out of the oven The other items were the lemon bar, whoopie pie, raspberry almond breakfast cake, coconut bread, breakfast sandwich, and a pack of frozen bagels. Everything was a hit, but bagels would be at the bottom of the list. There's a small area to eat and enjoy your finds. A lot of people seemed to order to-go and they might even take pre-orders. If you're in Portland, you HAVE to go! Small parking lot, but right off the throughway.

Do not come here expecting to sit at a cafe and eat indoors. There are only a few outdoor tables. This is more of a take out spot. There was a preorder area which had no line seemed like a good option if you want to just drive up and grab your goods without waiting in a long line. The drinks (iced tea/cold brew/hot coffee/tea) are premade and I would say are above average. The pastries we had were unbelievable! Flakey, buttery croissants with simple but punchy flavors. This spot is worth the wait!

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!

The raisin croissant was great - it was flaky, light, there was a nice simple syrup that created almost a candied undercarriage - this could have also been the sugar that cooked out of the raisins when baking. The croissant didn't exactly have anything particularly standout about it, it just tasted like it was very well executed. Oddly didn't get much of a buttery flavor from this croissant, I also feel like a very small amount of spices could have gone a long way to help pull in some warm undertones for the flavor. If I get back here on another trip, I'll be sure to arrive earlier to get some different options.

Upon entry, you'll see the current offerings in a display to the right, and a view into the kitchen through a window in the left. The friendly staff could not be nicer; zero attitude whatsoever even after winning a prestigious James Beard award. Zero seating, too, unfortunately, other than a few benches outside. -- Chocolate Croissant: A sturdy brown contraption with a crusty exterior and a bready interior. Mine was still warm, with a good crackly bite and hints of wood flavor from the oven. Underneath were strong accents of chocolate. Very good and very different. -- Almond Croissant: A swirl shape along the lines of pain au raisins, but with almonds and almond filling. That filling was nicely understated and natural, complementing while deferring to the still-warm dough. Another example of very good and very different. This place strikes me more as a bread bakery that also bakes pastries than a pastry shop that also bakes bread-- not that there's anything wrong with that. And it's a place that's willing to sacrifice breadth of offerings (at least at any one time) for quality of offerings, and there's nothing wrong with that either. Looking forward to many more visits to get that breadth-- and bread-- over time.

They didn't up charge the soy sauce too much either. Would come back again even though the selection was small.
