We stopped into Wildflours because it's dedicated gluten free. It's a little bit off the beaten path, but easy to get to. When I walked in, three women were standing behind the counter, but I wasn't greeted. They carried on their conversation. Since you can see their entire facility from the front, it was nice to see everything was clean. I ordered a blueberry muffin and a smores bar. The muffin was gigantic, and pretty good. While in Maine... it's a must to try Whoopie pie. Unfortunately I am one of the few that has to be cautious, but their gluten intake. At Wildflours Gluten-Free Bakery , I was a kid in the candy store or bakery. This bakery is a quaint little treat at Collegetown with helpful and happy employees that are eager for a customer to leave happy and giddy. I got a pumpkin Whoopie pie that made all the fall feels so much more sweet. While visiting from Colorado, I found this gluten-free bakery and am in love with it, wish I could take the bakery back home with me! Both times I visited, the staff was super friendly and helpful. I brought some frozen bread and made room for it in my suitcase! Perfect in every way. read more

We got a blueberry muffin and a s'mores bar. The entire shop is gluten free which is amazing but the staff didn't care about customers to serve them. The blueberry muffin was huge and flavorful and the smores bar was tasty with mallow and chocolate stuffed in the middle of it! The fact that EVERYTHING is gluten-free is great! However, I stopped coming to this place because of attitude. I thought since it had been sold, it may be better. Nope! I hadn't been in a long time, and had questions. However, I was greeted with huffy noises and irritation. I have other allergies, too. It's a concern. First getting attention, I asked if there were "day old" items since yesterday was Easter. "NO, we don't do that." Well, both my lemon bar and whoopie pie were probably two days too old. The taste was good, but the textures were off. Here's to hoping the cupcake I got is good. It's for my birthday tomorrow! I won't be back any time soon. read more

Walked in and was immediately greeted. They have many options of sweets to choose from but only a few vegan and gf options. All their vegan cupcakes are chocolate based so that was a bit of a bummer for me. They were ready to answer any questions we had. They've got a freezer of take n bake items. Freshly baked breads and some t shirts for sale. They are lots of rainbows posted throughout if you catch my drift. A bit much for those of us who don't care who you sleep with but they're just proud I guess. Adorable bakery located in the heart of Brunswick,Maine. They literally have everything you can think of as far as desserts and breakfast pastries go including cakes,cookies, cupcakes, muffins, donuts, quiches and more. My boyfriend is allergic to wheat so he was in literal heaven. You can get freshly made delicious recipes or even pre made mixes to make your own Glutten free yum Yums. They also sale their own fresh loafs of bread which are great alternatives to non fresh gluten free frozen bread at the grocery store. We ended up ordering tons of baked goods and I got ice coffee with coffee ice cubes. I love that because ice coffee can get watered down by ice. We don't live here and we wish we did! Nice to have a dedicated gf bakery. I purchased a liaf of their multi grain bread. A pan loaf, it still had a decent crumb and remained moist over a few days. Too much gum in the bread to be superb, but a nice loaf that sliced easily. read more

For me, Wildflours is a 3.5 star, but I'm rounding up. The good... 1. Their COVID precautions are fantastic! They leave your order outside on a table in a bag with your name on it at the time you say you'll be there to pick it up. Totally contactless! 2. I'm not gluten-free, but I do appreciate places that offer options for my GF friends. 3. The quiches are SO GOOD. $9 for a six-inch pie, but they're *so* filling. Probably because they're packed with ingredients. We got a spinach, mushroom, cheddar quiche and an artichoke, goat cheese, sun-dried tomato quiche. 100% I would get the latter one again, and I'm super interested in trying their "Jalapeno Popper" flavor in the future! The not so good... 1. I was a little disappointed with the cinnamon rolls. $14 for five "take and bake" buns. Despite having professional baking experience (no, really, I do!) and following their instructions ("let thaw in the fridge overnight, then place somewhere warm for an hour to rise"), our rolls stayed quite small and quite condensed. Each mouthful was like biting into sand. And they come with a reeeeeeeeeeeally small amount of icing which is a bummer; icing would have definitely added some much needed moisture! 2. This might be my fault, but when I called to place my order late one afternoon the person who answered wasn't very warm. It was my first time calling in and I was confused by/fumbling a bit over their menu. The person on the other end was very short with me. Not a great first impression, but again it was the end of day, and maybe I could have called earlier or been more prepared? REALLY enjoyed what we purchased. It was a little off the beaten path so parking was easy. I'm Celiac and I try to avoid eggs and dairy so I bought mostly Vegan- a chocolate/chocolate cupcake a chocolate/vanilla cupcake, a banana chocolate chip muffin and a regular lemon bar for my non Celiac dad. The cupcakes were THE BEST purchased vegan/GF cupcakes I've ever had! The muffin was delish, had a little cinnamon which I didn't expect but enjoyed. I did taste the lemon bar which was legit! This place has a great selection of gluten free baked goods-- breads, pastries, cakes, etc. We tried both a chocolate and vanilla cupcake. The cupcakes themselves had a great texture, but I felt like I was eating a cheap cake that I could've bought at a grocery store. The frosting, in my opinion, was inedible. It was supposed to be buttercream but it just tasted like crunchy powdered sugar and was way too sweet. Frosting does not usually contain gluten, so they have no excuse for the terrible frosting. I would have given this place 4 stars because they do have a great selection of decent gluten free items (something that is typically hard to find) but unfortunately the service was terrible. If you're not gluten free, you can still enjoy these treats immensely. The vanilla doughnut was the best I've ever had - so fluffy and moist. The muffins are hearty and huge, but don't order one if you don't like crunchy tops. The coffee is excellent, especially for pot coffee. I give Wildflours four stars because lack of good service. Looking for a GF option while driving isn't simple for my wife. The GF-Near Me-App on her cellphone is marginally useful as you can't look ahead as your driving but must use a circle around your location, meaning half the hits are behind you already...I'm not inclined to reverse my direction on a long drive. This App desperately needs a "map view" option and should be able to figure out you are moving at automobile speed and not look behind. I decided to park and brute force it using Google Maps and clicking through to menus, make a few phone calls to query GF. When you zoom in, Gmaps starts to illuminate businesses and certainly restaurants. I spotted "Wildflours Gluten-Free Bakery" a half mile ahead: no brainer, and no need to look at a menu or to call. Off we went. She settled for a couple of Blueberry Muffins but I was eyeballing the single serving quiches on the counter, 3 or 4 different types to choose from. I opted for the Spinach and Mushroom. This was served to me at room temperature and I decided not to ask to have it heated. Wow, excellent. The egg was of a custard texture and consistency, fluffy too if that makes sense. I think plenty of cream in the egg mix. Plenty of ingredients and plenty of cheese within. I couldn't eat it all and saved about half for later. We ate our vittles on the road and mine did need a dash of salt and some pepper which I keep in my road kit. Interestingly the quiche's crust border didn't crumble and land all over me (typical of GF crusts) but held together nice such that it wasn't too challenging to eat while driving. I held it like a slice of pizza. Nice find. Friendly staff. I highly recommend the quiches. My wife enjoyed her muffins. Note it is just a stones throw from US Rt 1: easy off directly onto their street and easy back onto the the highway. read more

When you are gluten free it is very hard to find places around Maine, that are local, affordable and good for you! Wildflour's is an amazing Gluten Free Bakery that never disappoints. I have ordered gluten-free pizza dough and it was so delicious we ate the whole pizza! Wildflours offers a variety of rolls that a baked to perfection along with many other treats such as donuts, bars, pastries, muffins and much more. My favorite is their dream bars, if you like chocolate and coconut, this is your bar! It can be very rich, so you can always eat pieces of it at a time! read more

We stayed near Brunswick July 13th - 16th 2022. Being celiac this bakery was on our list of places to go. Best muffins, cinnamon buns and bread we've ever had not sure how they do it but it was all incredibly delicious. I bought a loaf of cinnamon bread on July 15th and just made the last slices of toast today July 25th. Thanks to everyone at Wildflowers what a great place. read more

Amazing bakery! They have such a wide variety of baked goods from cupcakes, to pizza. I have yet to have anything from there that isn't yummy. Don't leave without getting the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin - WOW. Did I mention the scones!! Hazelnut chocolate chip scones!!! To make it even better - the staff there is super! This bakery is one of my very favorite places. The muffins are AMAZING--particularly the low sugar blueberry oatmeal and the raspberry coconut. Two things that I think could be improved: 1) sometime in the past couple of years, they started putting sugar crystals on top of all the muffins--they used to put these only on some flavors. I don't like them on any of the muffins, particularly the lemon poppyseed. 2) please please please find a way to ship to other locations! This is a lovely gluten-free bakery. I'm staying with family who are gluten-free so we come here often for baked goods. I enjoyed their cornbread muffins and their bread is tasty. Their baked goods tend to be a little on the heavy side but that's normal for items that don't use wheat flour and I don't mind a hearty muffin or bread. My one suggestion is that they start carrying 1/2 loaves of bread as it's hard to eat a fresh loaf of bread in only a couple of days. read more

Sadly, the building this lovely bakery/gluten free market was in burned down and the owner decided not to go into a storefront again. She does sell her goods to all the local health food stores though, and at the farmers markets and they're definitely worth finding! GREAT "twinkie" and "whoopie pie" along with brownies, pies, cookies, muffins and breads. Unfortunately for me, I avoid dairy and eggs too so am limited to just one or two selections now, but when she first started her store I was a gluten-free omnivore and can vouch for how yummy her baked goods are.
