Small clean Chinese/Japanese eat in/take out restaurant in Staple's Plaza on 119 serving generous portions of excellent quality and taste, all made fresh and never had anything less than great. Also helps that the staff is a very pleasant and amenable. I love Chinese food and very good restaurants are really scarce. After Central Seafood closed it was a chore to find an establishment worth patronizing. This place is the real deal. read more

I ordered delivery to the hotel. The process was quite simple and they delivered to the room. Price was decent but it's not delicious. The hotel staff spoke very highly of this place but flavor was not even close to authentic asian food. The salmon was the best but the sechuan dish I ordered didn't have a little bit of sechuan-ness in it. I couldn't feel any spice. It was a bland mixture of meat and veggies. read more

Was hoping for a delicious meal after a Long Day's work. Was very disappointed in everything I ordered. The wontons in My soup were gummy and tasteless. The California roll was outrageously priced at 6:50 for four pieces and they weren't even good. The crispy fried calamari were the worst by far. I've eaten at this restaurant several times over many years and under previous management. Last night I treated 5 other people to dinner there, and for the first time, I was very disappointed and somewhat disgusted, literally. While eating chicken with eggplant, which was actually quite good, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my mouth and something that felt like a sliver of plastic. It turned out to be a fish bone, along with a few more of them. I showed them to the waitress and the manager, who acknowledged that they were fish bones and apologized. Other than the manager's explanation that they "were very busy" last night, I received no other compensation, and the price of that meal remained on my bill. I was left with a knot in my stomach and could eat nothing more after that, wondering what else might have been in their food. It would be hard for me to return to that restaurant again, considering the sloppy chef and poor management. They made two serious mistakes that will cost them more than the price of my meal, which should have at least been refunded to me. read more

Let me say this is a first, first ever food review and first online review ever. The reason I had to speak up follows: There were three in our party and the ONLY dine-in guests during lunch. Service was good and the atmosphere was ok as well. Room and tables all clean, no issues. Now the food, I am very familiar with Chinese food and Mott St. in the city is the place for REAL AUTHENTIC Chinese food. What we were served at the Bamboo Garden appeared to be food, that is where the resemblance ended. What they said was Chow Mein (in a red liquid) was completely void of taste. It was beyond BLAND, literally NO TASTE. It appeared to be cabbage, etc, but if I was blind and my life was on the line, I could not tell you what I was eating. One person ordered Sushi rolls, and had to cover in wasabi and ginger (not what ginger is for) just to taste SOMETHING. The other person had a veggie soup, yes the veggies had some taste, but the broth was also void of ANY flavor. More like water than any broth I have tasted. Bottom line, if you have lost your sense of taste, go here because the food is void of all flavor. If you want tasty Chinese food, go to Mott St. in the city for food with FLAVOR. Lastly, I thought I had COVID again because I could not taste ANY flavor. After a quick trip to Taco Bell and some spicy tacos, I realized it was NOT me, it was the Bamboo Garden's tasteless food. One Star is for overall, because the service and atmosphere were ok and they do not control the food. ZERO STARS (should be Negative Three stars) for the food. If you can't make it to Mott St. in the city, Taco Bell has spicy tacos or 7-11 Pizza, both have taste. Or go to Popeye's next door. read more

I was in the mood from some really good Asian cuisine and I couldn't help but come up with the Bamboo Gardens, which was a some 20 minutes from me, but I had eaten here at one point last year and was pretty impressed with the dishes that I ordered. This time around I kept it very simple, ordered some pan fried pork dumplings. When they came out of the kitchen, they looked like they were first boiled and later pan fried which is fine, if it wasn't for the burned edges. Not quite what I expected which I found very disappointing. Entrees, I ordered Szechuan Beef with Pork Fried Rice. They were both very good and enjoyed it all. Ate dinner in restaurant. We were the only ones eating inside. But they were real busy doing take out. Nice hot tea brought over. Waitress was very sweet and checked to see if we needed anything regularly. Wonton egg drop soup was flavorful and hot. Fried noodles fresh. We ordered mu shu chicken and bird nest. Both were very good. Nice vegetables. And not too saucy. They gave us pineapple for dessert. Nice touch. We will be back. read more

I went with a couple of co-worker for lunch; they have free Tea and free water. What? In Chinese place, first time i see this, they have a lunch special like other place but this one give you a soup free. I had the sesame chicken he dish is similar to General Tso's chicken but the taste of the Chinese-based chicken is sweet rather than spicy One of my friend had Beef pepper he says that is a delicious meal, served with boiled white rice, that's easy and made from items that I've already got in my cupboards! The other one had triple delight he love this dish that consists of oyster and soy sauce that simmers with the chicken, shrimp, beef tenderloin and some delicious vegetables. Good take-out. The Chinese food is consistently good. The chicken fried rice has a ton of large strips of chicken and one of my favorite places to get it. We like that it also has sushi. Decided to order in for New Year's and wanted to try someplace new. The food was very expensive. The teriyaki chicken was tasteless and so dry no matter how much sauce you put on it nothing helped. The wonton soup tasted like dirty water although the wontons themselves were ok. The sesame chicken was an odd orange color and the sauce was very thick and goopy. This is my favorite take-out Chinese food place. The quality of the food is great and the service is amazing. These guys know what they're doing and I'm sure you will be satisfied with the menu selection. Beyond your standard Chinese takeout, they have a sushi chef preparing fresh Japanese cuisine on the spot. If you're on a diet, try their steamed chicken with broccoli and brown rice and substitute the brown sauce for the hot oil. It's a must read more

Don't order the appetizer butterfly shrimp - all you get is a small shrimp that has been pound to death to make it bigger then coated in so much Panco that all you eat is fried Panco. We've ordered delivery from this restaurant a few times before & were pleased with it so we decided to eat in tonight. We arrived at 5:30 pm. There were 3 tables sat besides us. There is a parking lot which is always nicer versus searching for parking on the street & the restaurant front was well lit. When we pulled up I could see two employees through the window that were behind the counter. It was about 15 degrees outside & we were both carrying a lil kid. The man quickly went out of his way to open the for us so that made a good first impression on us both. We were immediately seated & our server got a highchair & booster seat right away (that's always a Huge help- as the quicker the kids get buckled in, the easier it is to start ordering etc:)) The table was pre-set nicely but not too crowded with dishes, as I've seen at many restaurants. Water was complimentary & the server poured us hot tea & left us for a few minutes to look over the menu. The menu was easy to read, not overwhelming, & very reasonably priced. Our order was taken shortly after. We ordered the Black Dragon roll, the Pink Lady roll, the M16 roll, edamami, velvet chicken & corn soup, & fried rice. We requested for the fried rice to come out as soon as possible because it was for the kids. He said no problem but really meant it... it was on our table less than 5 mins later! :) Looking around I found the restaurant to be very clean. Also, background music was soft & not too loud where you could still carry on a conversation. Only one thing bothered me was where some paint was peeling off the wall. It looked like it may have been from the previous furniture being up against the wall & somewhat adhering to it over time, then moved. It concerned me because the 1yr old with us was picking it off the wall about to put it in her mouth when we noticed & moved her further away. The food was brought out in great time & arranged nicely. The entire meal our server checked on us just often enough, but not too often that it's annoying. Thankfully the kids were very well behaved but even so we usually feel rushed at restaurants when they're with us. That wasn't an issue here. He made sure a couple times that the little girls liked the food & were taken care of. That was a big plus for us both! As the kids started to get a bit restless we asked for the check & he boxed up our leftovers for us. Unfortunately, neither of us caught his name & they weren't wearing nametags either. I'm stunned that this place has any good reviews. We ordered a good selection of chinese food for a large group of people at our house. I expected generic American Chinese takeout, but I was in for a surprise. We first noticed that they had charged us for their Quart sized meals, then sent pints instead. This was mentioned to the cashier, who insisted the containers were quart sized and correct. This should have been a warning for what we were getting into. I'm not sure if they make anything in house, but there was no question that the eggrolls and wontons were bought frozen. The egg rolls were fried until they had gone partly translucent, and when they cracked fryer oil spilled out! The wontons were almost completely raw dough, with a tiny piece of frozen meat in the centers, completely inedible. Most of the entrees were just sub par, especially the Hot & Spicy items, like their General Tso's, all of which were clearly tossed in corn syrup & starch slurry. There was no flavor or heat to be found. Far and away the worst however, was the mu shu pork, where the meat was rotten. I'm not saying it smelled a little off, it was full on rancid. There is no way the cook could have missed the smell and look of rotten meat, and the fact that they decided to serve it anyway should tell you all you need to know about this place. Very glad I took a chance and ordered from Bamboo Garden--and even MORE glad that I didn't read the one star reviews. The guy answering the phone was obviously very busy, given it is a Saturday night; however, he was MORE than adequate and expertly took my order. Imagine my surprise--the food arrived FIFTEEN minutes EARLY, still piping hot! Our full order: Egg drop soup--DELICIOUS Shrimp Shu Mai--small but DELICIOUS Scallion pancake--a little thicker than I'm used to, but crispy and DELICIOUS Singapore Mei Fun--plenty of chicken and good quality bbq pork in it and DELICIOUS Szechuan String Beans--DELICIOUS Kung Pao Chicken--minor criticism here but there was more diced carrot than peanuts in it, but it was still DELICIOUS Total: $49.12. VERY GOOD VALUE. VERY pleased with our first order and look forward to ordering from them again. read more

This is one of our favorite Chinese and Japanese restaurants in the Elmsford-Tarrytown area. The food is always of the highest quality. I usually order the steamed mixed vegetables and chicken dish, with brown rice on the side. My husband usual dish is the sesame cold noodles with peanut sauce. Another favorite are the sushi rolls!!! They always offer a generous portion with each roll that is served. We have been known to dine in and order take out. Both options are wonderful. read more

It was bad as in "what the fuck did I just eat?" - it tasted like a combination of ass and my balls. The people were nice, but good lord they make some terrible food. I figured I'd be safer there than going to a diner or Burger King (My other dining choices in that town) and boy was I wrong.
