Haiku has a great lunch menu! I usually order my go-to, the lunch sesame chicken, but this time I wanted to switch it up and tried the sesame shrimp with white rice and broccoli. It also comes with soup or salad, and I always choose the salad. The food was fresh and tasty, and the restaurant is clean and pretty spacious inside. Service was okay--my server didn't check in until I was almost finished with my meal--but overall it was still a pleasant experience. If you work nearby and have a lunch hour, this is a great spot to grab a quick bite and even squeeze in a little shopping since Haiku is located in a shopping plaza with LOFT, Chico's, and a sneaker shop. We have been to the other location over on Mamaroneck Rd in White Plains. We love that place so naturally it will be hard not to compare. For starters this place is smaller and feels a little bit more crowded in on one another. The food however was very good. I think there is a slight language barrier today because I asked for my Crispy Shredded Sechuan beef extra spice but they left out the heat and made it extra crispy. Nothing that some hot sauce didn't cure. But it was excellent. I'll know better next time to make sure that they get my request correctly . This is not an inexpensive meal. Not what we expected. Food poor quality. Unfriendly service. Let's start with the wonton soup. Diluted broth with little taste. Three tiny wontons. Five dollars. Then both the fried rice and lo mein were soaked in soy sauce. All you could taste was salt. The basic rolls were good which saved this from being a one star review.. The service? This has always been my favorite Asian fusion in Westchester, with the best food and service anywhere. My recent visit was no exception, my son and I had chicken pad Thai and Malaysian chicken curry - both were amazing! We also tried the lettuce wraps and cold sesame noodles. Everything was wonderful! On Monday my friend and I ordered lunch from Haiku Scarsdale (which is actually in Eastchester. We ordered two lunch specials of Pad Thai one with vegetables and one with jumbo shrimp, both with wonton soup, plus the salt and pepper squid and the lettuce leave wraps. The order was placed at 1:22pm for delivery to the backyard apartment. I was told that the food would arrive in forty five minutes. At 2:25pm we called to ask how much longer it would take and got a very nasty sounding man check and tell me, "it was delivered, go check your front door." I told him that we were disabled and repeated that it was supposed to be delivered to the backyard apartment. He practically snarled to check the front four and said "miscommunication" a few minutes later my eighty one year old friend who had hurt her leg went upstairs to my son's house and got our order, at about 3:00pm. All the food was tepid and cold and even after reheating was not worth what I paid for it, which included a $7.00 tip. The soup was cold, the salt and pepper squid was totally soggy and the once jumbo shrimp are now a misnomer. I calked and got snarled at when I asked for a credit. I was offered 20% off my next order and I just told him that unless I was given something now there would not be a next order. I grudgingly was told he would apply the 20% tip this order and I hope he does. Very sad as this was once a favorite restaurant but now the service is not good and worse the food is not as good or the portions the same size. Staff made a price adjustment on my order to include their own tip without consent, even though I had fully planned to tip with cash for delivery. Made it seem like it was for an extra accommodation to justify the added charge. I used to go to Haiku, an Asian fusion restaurant, when I worked in Mamaroneck in 2008. The food was decent, and I never experienced an issue when I went there for lunch. So last Friday, October 3, when my friend, who is of a different complexion, suggested we go to the Haiku in Scarsdale location for lunch, I said sure. When we arrived, there were customers at almost every table. The wait staff was very attentive and checked on us several times during our meal. The food came out very quickly. The entrée arrived before I finished my soup and salad. The presentation was very good. The food was hot, and you could see each eggplant, each piece of chicken. It looked appealing to the eye. It tasted good and fresh. This is why I had no problem going there, on my own at 5:30 pm, for an early supper before my appointment nearby on Monday, October 6. Due to my experience just a few days ago, I anticipated that I could get my order in, eat in 20 minutes, and be on time for my appointment. I would have rather they put a sign out front that read my kind is not welcome there. It would have saved me the time I cannot get back, and the feelings of being reminded of my skin tone and how unjustly we are treated in some establishments. When I walked in, they offered me a seat at the bar. I told them I would rather a table. Only one party of three was finishing up their meal. I was the only other person in the restaurant. I told them I already knew what I wanted. I placed my order, soup, salad and I wanted a lot of vegetables. They had an eggplant and garlic sauce entrée. I wanted to add broccoli, string beans, and carrots. They told me it would cost an additional $3.00 per vegetable added. That seemed ridiculous, so I told them to add just the broccoli. I received my soup and salad right away. Then one lady customer came and sat at the bar, another two people sat at the high tables near the door. A couple sat to my far left, and a family of three were seated. There were several waitstaff there, so I thought nothing of it. I finished my soup and salad. To my surprise, my entrée had not been served yet. Ten minutes later, I saw the appetizers served to the party of two and the entrees served to the two parties near the bar. I asked the waiter why people were receiving their meals before I received mine and they arrived after me. The waiter said oh, they ordered teriyaki and the chicken is grilled. It is prepared at another station. Your order will be out in a minute. Ten minutes turned into 15 minutes. My order still had not arrived. I asked the waiter, and he said oh we had a lot of take-out orders to prepare. Your order will be ready in a minute. Then the time I was anticipating finishing my meal so I can be on time for my appointment was approaching. I asked the waiter how much longer I had to wait for my meal. He said just another minute. I said you told me that three times already. Then after waiting 25 minutes after placing my order, it arrives. I was so upset. The food did not resemble anything that I had just a few days prior. The plate was dirty! And there was a hair on the white plate! I was so upset, after waiting for so long, that I told the waiter about the dirty plate and the hair and said I did not want it. I should have taken a picture of the disgusting display. I would not serve that to a dog. The waiter took the plate. He returned and said I will give you the check. I asked for a manager and told him about the long wait, the dirty plate, and the hair on it. He said he would take care of the bill. They did not seem remorseful about their behavior or how I was treated. This must be typical for them. I will not be returning to that establishment. I have been to restaurants, south of the Mason-Dixon line, that refused to serve me. Ultimately, I left as I realized I was not wanted there. I had no idea this would be my experience at a restaurant in Scarsdale. read more

They just reopened this week after some renovations and seating was only outside still. However outside is set up beautifully with string lights and barriers in the parking lot. Service was great. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and even helped us pick our food. The vegetable spring rolls were good. It is a very small portion with only 2 rolls cut in half. The shashimi was good and fresh and came with tuna, salmon, and yellow real. At the suggestion of the waitress we narrowed down our rolls to the pacific and jungle. Both were delicious but the pacific roll was just a hit. The sweet potato paired with the crab salad and tuna flakes just went together amazing. I sat first at the bar to wait for my party the bartender was pretty cool and made yummy haikutinis. They have an awesome happy hour Sunday - Thursday 4-6:30pm 8$ cocktails , $4 beer and other bar food deals. My fiancé ordered hot sake that was also very delicious taste like white grapes. For appetizers we got a variety of things that I do not recall the names but it was very good. For dinner I got the jungle roll very deliciousness my fiancé got the sushi regular which was cool as it had a variety of sushi. For dessert we got lava cake and ice cream. First let me say this place use to be my favorite place until my last experience last week. I will begin with theambiance is beautiful. Food is great especially the rolls and chicken with broccoli delicious. The steamed dumplings are so gooooodddd, the service is quick. However my only complain being that I order all the time and because of this I stopped going there because the older Asian woman at the cashier yelled at me because I only gave her a $4 tip. She made my husband and I past an embarrassment by yelling out tip tip $4 NO. I was so upset. This is not professional at all and honestly if I was the manager I would've sent her home w no pay. Haiku is an excellent restaurant. Great food and Great service. Staff made sure all Covid precautions were in place. Had sushi rolls and shrimp fried rice which were on point and refreshing. There are a number of Haikus located throughout Westchester county, but don't associate the multiple locations with lower quality food. I've had many enjoyable meals here; the food is tasty and high quality. This particular location in Scarsdale is located amongst a number of stores in a small shopping center on route 22. The restaurant itself isn't big but they do a great job with the layout and decor - low lighting, dark woods and warm browns and silvers. Part of the kitchen is open where you can see sushi chefs preparing dishes. We started with some yasai gyoza (pan fried veggie dumplings) - they were very good, just enough crisp so that you can bite into the dumpling without encountering gummy dough. My go-to dish at Haiku is pad thai (which they do very well), but tonight I went simple with jumbo shrimp and broccoli in a brown sauce with brown rice on the side. I was really impressed; the shrimp were substantial - big enough that I needed to but them with a knife to make bite-size pieces. The broccoli was crisp and the sauce was tasty - great dish. Service was good and the staff was friendly - we were greeted warmly upon entering and exit; I'm sure to be back! read more

Plenty of parking in front. Food is always delicious. Staff can be hit or miss on the friendly scale. I'm always pleased and full when I leave here. I love the special roll with the fried soft shell crab in it. Sashimi is also always good. I enjoyed my takosu and for dessert they have green tea ice cream which is fantastic along with plain vanilla and 1 other flavor. For dinner it gets really loud sometimes so loud I cant hear the other person talk who I am with. But at an early lunch its quiet enough you wont need advil after. They offer lunch specials which are always good. I've never been unhappy with a meal from here. The shredded dried beef is a good choice. Always delicious! Giant, delicious prawns. Big chunks of pineapple.The side of sweet and sour soup was great and surprisingly well done (sour, spicy, not overly peppery I so often encounter). Was nearly packed by Friday 1pm with grandmas, families, couples. My question is don't ya'll have to work?? Was expecting emptiness but I liked it being packed. Was loud enough, no one could overhear each other's conversation. Staff is all Asian and curteous. I haven't seen this many Asians congregated in one place ever in Scarsdale. Diner beware: This restaurant used to be much better - the food has gone downhill and the service is quite bad. The most recent visit was our last - we had to wait a very long time for the food, not common in Asian restaurants, and the Shiitakke mushrooms were cold and hard - tried eating them, but fortunately stopped after 2 bites. That evening I became very dizzy, which lasted through the next morning until about 1PM. Never had this before, so suspect it was the mushrooms. I have no proof but I didn't eat anything else after leaving Haiku. The room was spinning - something I have never before experienced. I had to hold on to keep from falling. It lasted well into the next day. I do not take meds or drugs, so I can't think of anything else. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and I seriously don't recommend eating there. Too many negatives this last time. I am no longer dizzy, and hope never again to experience this.
