Very surprised this place is still open and has 3 stars. They completely took advantage of me and overcharged! I called my order in and asked if they had any kind of family bundle. I mentioned which entrees I was interested in.. 1. Chicken Chow Mein 2. Shrimp Fried Rice 3. Beef and Broccoli 4. Sweet and Sour Chicken 5. Fried Won Tons 6. Hot and Sour Soup The lady that took my order said that bundles don't come with soup but will make it a side order and bundle everything else. She never told me a total until I arrived to pick up the food. My total came out to be $90.63!!?! I asked why it was much and a lady came out of the kitchen and said "you should have ordered a bundle and it would have been much cheaper but it's too late now. Next time, just tell them." Ummm.. what?! When you say "them" don't you mean, "you?" I was completely mislead and taken advantage of! The one that came out of the kitchen said it's too late now and can't change anything. Stopped in to pick up dinner, Chow Mein & Orange chicken. $34 . I understand inflation but for 2 items .. this better be some amazing Chinese. Edit: Well worth it! Portions are huge. Pre-Covid this place never failed to disappoint but after a recent visit in the fall of 2024, don't bother. Really felt like the food was pre-cooked and then reheated again. In fact, they served walnut prawns that were half cold and half heated up. They no longer serve you hot tea nor do they serve beer. What Chinese restaurant doesn't serve hot tea? What was also weird is that you did not hear them cooking at all in the kitchen, which is the reason why we were led to believe the food must be stored and then just reheated. Sadly, no one in our group had a good plate to speak of. Really shameful that this restaurant has gone downhill. Noticed as well that the prices have increased anywhere from 5 to 7 dollars on the items that we purchased regularly. Higher prices for bad food. We will not be going here again. read more

My family and I just started eating at this restaurant after my husband picked up their sizzling rice soup. We are super picky when it comes to soup and this soup is perfect when you're feeling under the weather. Since trying the soups we've picked up lunch specials. The portions are big and while some items are bland it's easy enough to doctor up with a little soy sauce and chili paste. The Chinese Chicken Salad; fried chicken unedible, overcooked, and dry. Fried rice; had no flavor and it looked like instant rice or the rice used in sizzling rice soup. We each had one spoon and tossed the entire container. Kung Pow Chicken; is dry, has no spice, lacks flavor, and doesn't taste like Kung Pow. Chow Mein; again no flavor and noodles overcooked. War won ton soup was flavorful and had a nice broth. Total came close to $90. Full but not satisfied. Service was pleasant. They only offer take-out. read more

This place is delicious!! I understand the main lady that answers the phone might not be the warmest but she's efficient and the food speaks for itself. Hands down one of the best Won ton soups we've tried. Our top favorite plates that are delicious are Combination chow mein- Has a good amount of chicken,beef, prawns. Other favorite plates are Kung pao Prawns, mongolian beef has spicy kick to it. This was our go to place for Chinese food. Hands down they HAD been the best place in Gilroy/Morgan Hill. Unfortunately this is the second time it's been awful. This last time was the final straw for us. We drive from Morgan Hill for takeout. They gave us spaghetti noodles in place of chow mein noodles! Its mind blowing to think they thought boiled spaghetti noodles would be acceptable in place of stir-fried noodles. It was just gross. First time eating here and I was a bit nervous based on the reviews. We had a really great time here. We went for dinner around 4pm on Sunday (Mother's Day). The place had maybe 4 other tables being used. The service was fast and very good. Our waitress was really great with our 3 year old. The restaurant was clean, lots of seating as well. The food tasted pretty good. We got dinner combo A for 24.95 that included egg roles, pork fried rice, chicken chow menu and sweet and sour pork. Everything was flavorful and tasted pretty good. The food did have a lot of oil but it didn't impact the taste. One thing I observed which I thought was pretty cool. This place attracts regulars. There were several patrons the staff called by name. There was even a gentlemen who ran into the restaurant just to deliver flowers to all the staff (who were moms) for Mother's Day. That is pretty telling about any establishment. This place is pretty cool. The food here is authentic, but it's unique in that they specialize in Hunan food. And that's super cool because it reflects the reality of Chinese cuisine being regional in China, which adds to the authenticity of this location. And specifically, the west Hunan province. The hallmark, I guess, is that the food tends to be spicy. You may not know, but Chinese food is not monolithic. Now, she might've been having a bad day but she should not be that nasty especially to loyal customers. If an employee is coughing and sneezing, they NEED to go home. When I was a kid we would always come here but the problem with this place is that they are so darn greasy. With the fried rice, the bottom is a puddle of grease which is pretty nasty.
