I was visiting my friends in the area, and there were many Bambu around where I live (CA), and honestly, this one gave me the best experience of all. The others I went to look really outdated with just one or two drinks that I considered worth to come back, but this one is quite decorative, clean, and modern which I really like, especially compared to other places in the local. I decided not to try my favorite #1 that I always had and tried different drinks since they have many options, and they were great!! instead of the bland taste I'd got from other Bambu. I was so excited for this place to open up but this place has disappointed me. The first time I went, I went on their grand opening and took about 15 to order and 25 minutes to get my drink. I got a black milk tea with boba but the lid wasn't properly sealed so it ended spilling everywhere. Also the milk tea was not very good. It was not a good experience; however, I wanted to give it another try so went again in the evening on another day. I ordered a mango yogurt with mango jelly and mango bursting boba. When I got my order, I realized it was missing both jelly and bursting boba, so I went back to tell them. After couple minutes, they came back with my drink but instead of making a new one with the toppings on the bottom, they placed it on top and forgot my mango jelly again. I am very disappointed at this place and won't be coming back for a while. read more

I heard great things about BAMBU but never had the chance to try it out for myself until the grand opening in GR! I didn't get there until 9:30pm and the line was still busy! I figured it would be because it was the grand opening. Even though it was still busy, it didn't seem chaotic. The staff were friendly and efficient and greeted me with a smile. The decor was beautiful, modern and everything was clean and updated. The menu was presented in monitors at the front but there were also a few drinks posted on the wall to the left that helped me make a decision. I ordered the Fruit addicts Ché. It was a risk for me because I've never had many of the items in the drink suck as pandan, jackfruit, lychee and even the red tapioca. However, I was pleasantly surprised!! The coconut milk tasted fresh, I had plenty of fruit in my drink and it was delicious! I love that they have so many dairy free options for those who don't drink dairy or are vegan! It was worth the late night trip and I can't wait to try the coffees, teas and the pandan waffle! Since this place isn't far from where I live, I'll be sure to be back! read more

I've been to other Bambu locations, and this one is much bigger than the one in Uptown Chicago! The staff was very friendly and fast, even though it was quite busy. My mom and I loved the Che, but we also tried the Pandan waffle which was amazing. It was served warm, was a dark green color, and perfectly sweet to compliment the Che. Yes it's a chain, but it is very unique for the area, and it was nice to see it be so busy. read more

Ordered 5 bambu specials... which tasted completely different from the ones I had at other bambu locations. I've been to many. It almost tasted like bleach....I brought it back to let them know... they questioned me if I ever tasted bambu before and were giving me a hard time. Come on people, for Grand Rapids or even West Michigan this is the best place for Boba. Not a fan of their prices but I don't really have another choice. I always get the classic Black milk tea with boba. I think their boba is good quality. I also tried a lychee smoothie with mango jellies and that was delicious. Taste like those jellies you get at the asian market that you eat out the little cup. I'll give them credit for the taste of tea and pop corn chicken. They were great. But you should not wait for 20-30 to get 2 orders of bubble tea okay? I went to MI for a business trip and was looking for a boba place to grab a drink, but there was nothing near by. I'm a SoCal girl so I gotta have my boba!! Lol I saw Bambu on the way back to my hotel and was super excited..so I went in to check it out. I think they just recently open this place, since I didn't see it on my last trip. My first impression... I loved the decors!!! This would be a great place for hangouts and meetups. Second impression...the staffs were very nice and friendly. Last, but not least... their drinks...... I got the Bambu Special because that's my favorite drink when I go to Bambu. I really liked how they made my drink because it was not too sweet. The Bambu near my house, their #1 Bambu Special is a little too sweet for my taste buds. I came back again the next morning to get the Vietnamese coffee before my flight back home. awesome place!! been looking for a good boba place in grand rapids for a while -- cafe boba is good, but this place is amazing!! there are tons of different options and sooooo many mix-in choices!! the tea is a bit more bitter than what i'm used to, but still delicious nonetheless!! my only complaint (if i'm getting really picky) is the size of the ice - small chunks can get sucked up the straw and mix in with my boba. but other than that, love this place!! really excited now that there's a reliable place where i can try tons of new things:) can't wait to visit again! read more

Today I went to bambu for the first time. I had ordered the passion fruit tea and not only was it too sour, they had not properly sealed the top. The plastic popped off and ended up spilling in my new car. I had high expectations for Bambu but my drink overall was too sour and the seal job was not done correctly. I've had friends tell me that the milk teas are under average and too expensive for the taste they give. I expected better. The only good thing was the customer service as they were nice. read more
