Very disappointing experience at Bambi Dessert and Drinks (Bellaire location). This has happened more than once recently although their posted closing time is 10:30 PM, no one seems to answer the phone after 10:00 PM. Today, we arrived at the store around 10:15 PM hoping to order a drink. We were told they were out of some items, so we asked what was still available. The employee simply told us they had nothing available. If the store closes at 10:30 PM, customers arriving at 10:15 PM should reasonably expect to be able to order something. If the kitchen/drink service stops earlier, that should be clearly communicated and the posted hours should reflect it. We have enjoyed coming here, but unfortunately the customer service and consistency near closing time have become very disappointing. read more

Bambu has been around for quite a long time! They're a great dessert place, I like coming here for their shaved ice. Plenty of customization options from Chocolate, Coconut, Coffee, Durian, Green Tea, Mango, Red Velvet, Strawberry, Taro, Thai tea, and cheesecake variants! With much more topping and syrup addons. My group got the Strawberry Cheesecake with Condensed milk, mochi, and graham cracker crumbles on top and loved it. The texture of the shaved ice felt great, very solid if you enjoy a thicker shaved ice treat. Pandan Waffle I haven't had one in years and I loved it. It's not overpowering and at the end of a day, still a waffle but it's great. Now combine a Pandan Waffle and the shaved ice? Oh man even better! I remember trying Bambu when they used to have a location in Dallas. It has long since closed so it's been awhile since I've had their che. I tried my aunt's order, the taro lover, which included taro, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. It was pretty good and refreshing. She recommended that I get the smashed avocado to go. My son and I just ordered the most ordinary 2 & 3 colored bean drinks. They cut corner by using what tastes like diluted whole milk instead of coconut milk. I've been in this plaza countless of times, but only recently made my way to this Bambu location. I was pleasantly surprising with how large and clean the interior was! As for the food, I'm personally not the biggest fan of the options they have, but my family seemed to enjoy everything that they ordered! I used to frequent the Austin location and get a pandan waffle, which I did here as well, and found that their waffle wasn't as chewy or flavorful as the Austin one. But it was still good! I looooove Bambu. It is the highlight of my visits to the bay area, and if I'm lucky I'll get through there a couple of times during a work week, so I was jazzed to see one here in Houston. Even though I was stuffed from the Vietnamese food buffet next-door, this was a necessary stop. I've been here twice. Once on a weekday after lunch at Duy Sandwiches and the other time on a Saturday. Both times there was a steady stream of people ordering. The vibe was really chill with people sitting indoors and outdoors. The menu is easy to navigate and the staff is helpful if you have any questions. I ordered a Jasmine Mango Tea and the Smashed Avocado Chè the first time and only the Smashed Avocado Chè the second time. The Jasmine Mango Tea was really good, refreshing and not as sweet as I thought it would be, which is great to me. The Smashed Avocado Chè is exceptional! I enjoyed this chè so much. It is not too sweet but it tastes just right. I'm not a huge fan of boba itself but when combined with the jelly, avocado and ice, everything blends well and makes for a very balanced dessert. I'll be back for the ca phê sữa đá and salted caramel coffee soon and some of the other teas and chè at some point in the future. This is a cute little place to get Vietnamese dessert drinks! Everything I've tried here has tasted fresh, so it's up to your personal preference which drink you want. Don't be afraid to ask them to add/remove certain jellies/beans too if you don't see a drink that has the specific combination you want. The entire gang came here to fulfill their urges for dessert, following a UYE event. Bambu is located at the Kim Son plaza, right next to Kim Son itself. Their is plenty of parking available. We ordered a few items and shared them amongst ourselves. We got the mango smoothie, yogurt with berries, chocolate cheesecake, Taro shake, berrylicious, and the Tuxedo. My personal favorite was the Tuxedo and the chocolate cheesecake was delicious too. The best way I can describe all the items is "sweet". There was enough sweetness in them and I'm sure they were packed with sugar. Its ok to indulge in carbs, once in a while. This was my cheat night. Although it's usually a bit too sweet for me but I think you can adjust the sweet level. A variety of toppings in each che cup and good portion. On my most recent visit here, I noticed they had shaved ice. Of course, I have to try it. We ended up getting four different kinds: thai tea, strawberry cheesecake, berrylicious, and mangonada. My favorite has to be the cheesecake. It had two layer of strawberry and cheesecake shaved ice. The cheesecake portion had a very nice creamy taste. It went well with the combination of strawberries. Mangonada was also good with plenty of flavors from sour to spicy. You can really taste the strong flavors of each shaved ice. It comes in three sizes. Getting just the regular size was plenty to share with 2-3 people. The second size can be shared with more than 3 people. We didn't get the family size but I would expect it to be humongous.
