I got the #10 Che it was coconut milk with red tapioca, grass jelly, and pandan jelly and I really liked it !! Service was decent and my drink came out fairly quick. I went around 1-1:30ish and it was quite empty with only a few other customers behind me. I have yet to try other menu items since I'm currently addicted to the #10! The line was out the door when we came here. It went by pretty fast, the orders were taken quickly, that by the time that I got to the front I still didn't know what I wanted... I just played it safe with things I knew I wanted in my drink. I'm not sure if you can customize it or not but i did add some coffee jelly to my red bean and coconut drink which was reallllly good. The hubby played it safe and just got a vietnamese iced coffee with coffee jelly and our friend got the bambu special. The drinks were all pretty good but it did take at least 15 minutes for us to get the drink from the time we ordered. There is a lot of people making the drinks in the back and a lot of the specials are already pre sorted and you can see the ingredients in cups in the fridge. I saw a lot of people asking if their drinks were ready too, so it was not just us who felt it was slow. But all in all, I would come back to try more if ever in the area or in San Jose. They were refreshing and tasty. The place is really cute and you can chill and watch the flatscreens playing KPop concerts (which didn't make sense to me, but hey whatever floats their boats, haha). read more

This is my FAVORITE place for strawberry smoothies so far! I just love the way the drinks taste! Real fruit and milk, and the texture is so smooth too! I love my drink every time I come here! The shop is pretty small, but it gets goodf business! Also, this place is CASH ONLY! The only sad part is half of the times I come here for drinks, I forget that they're CLOSED ON MONDAYS. /sadface/ I usually end up going to Tap Ex when that happens. This is just about the customer service today, sadly. Went in at 11:40 today with a friend to indulge in a little sweetness to wrap up a little hang out time and took a peek inside before we entered. The first thing I think is 'oh hey, it's pretty empty! This is going to be fast!' Was it? Yes, but we had some trouble with the actual service. When we walk in, there's only two girls at the counter, looking at something and a table with four customers who already paid and gotten their things. There was no greeting from them, but eh, I guess it's typical of an Asian place but I expected more since we -are- customers and the other times I've been here the girls were much friendlier. I have no idea what they were looking at, but I did have to stand at the register for a bit before one of the girls actually realized I was ready to order. So, I made my order and moved on so my friend could go next. She ordered a coffee latte ($3) and the girl who took my order put in something else that wasn't what she ordered ($3.25). "No big deal" my friend tells me later, she just rolled with it and picked something off the menu that matched the price. This was where that girl messed up badly and where I feel pretty indignant on behalf of my friend. As soon as the order went through, she turned around to say something to the other worker, and when she turned back around she had literally asked "didn't you already get your change?" while giving my friend this 'why are you still standing here' kind of look. I am forever stuck on that facial expression because it was out of place. Um. No. She, in fact, -DID NOT- give her the change and she was still there so that she could receive it. My friend played that off too and said that she was just missing the coins because she didn't want to be mean and pushy. I didn't learn until we were gone and far away that the worker didn't give her any of her change at all before she turned to talk to the other girl. It would have been understandable that she could have missed that if the store was as busy as it usual is, but seriously, how do you mess up like that? It wasn't like there was another customer in her face demanding something, just one order from each person during a dead quiet time and to top it all off she was treating a customer who had already paid rudely. Normally I would be happier but the way the cashier (both of them, really) acted ruined the experience I had today. Dessert was as good as usual but the coffee was meh and not to my tastes when I sampled my friend's. read more

Came to see what all the hype was about this place. Overall, it was meh... Nothing to get all crazy over. Maybe I just didn't order the right thing (#6)? Based on the reviews this place had, it seemed like it would be a good choice but I thought it was ok; fruits and jelly mixed into a cup. I also tried their taro milk tea. Really watered down and no flavor. I'd rather go across the street to Houng Lan to get their taro milk tea; at least theirs has some actual taro in it. I probably wouldn't come back unless a friend wanted to stop by or had the time to give it another shot. read more

Hands down, best place for bubble tea. Bambu beats Tapioca Express, Lollicup, Quickly, Boba Tea House, and even Fantasia down in San Jose. The store is really ugly inside and has year-round Christmas decorations hanging from the ceiling, but the drinks are great. At least they finally got rid of this disgusting, worn out side chair that looked like there was a dead cat trapped underneath the fabric. read more

I love these drinks!! For experienced bobba drinkers this place is heaven! They have a large varity of flavors and amazing red tapioca. For those who are less experienced or trying this place new i would suggest picking and sticking with one flavor. When i bring my niece i get the Three Colored drink with extra red tapioca and passionfruit however for my niece i get her the Peach Catalina smoothie or the Honeydew smoothies. And my last suggestion is to ask for less or more sweetness to your taste. Hope this helps, they have amazing drinks! read more

Came in to bambu needing my coffee fix so I ordered several drinks to take back to uc Davis medical center was greeted by the friendly cashier ordered 6 drinks she even offered to make a custom drink that wasn't on the menu. Our drinks came out very quick!! Tasted great and definitely will be back !!!! I love bambu!!!!! read more

My friend took me there two weeks ago and I tried their dessert (No.1) and that was delicious, went back the second time and ordered the same thing and my sister and I got sick. It's ok...... I've had better. Pearls is a bit pricier but you get what you pay for. Bambu is super clean and fast service. I think all the drinks are already pre-made, so maybe that's what they're fast and ok drinks. Other places make them on the spot and blend. I didn't see any of that. Nice to have a place that can make some quality drinks and desserts in Sacramento. I'm not real picky with che drinks, so the ones here are pretty good to me, refreshing and filling too. I mainly go here for the cold drinks though; they might be a bit pricier and lack that typical cheap boba milk tea deal, but quality here is better, the only place that makes a good coffee milk tea. Maybe because they actually pull a shot of espresso into the tea instead of just mixing it with instant mocha powder (cough, Lollicup, cough). Get refreshed. Bring cash. I heard about this little treasure from a close friend and have been a fan since the first day I went. Its conveniently located next to SF market. Which is awesome because you can get all your shopping done across the street then go rewards yourself afterwords! Even from the outside the store is eye catchin and the inside is well decorated and inviting. I almost forgot I was in SouthSac, thats how nice it is. They have a good amount of seating (quality and comfy seating too!) for the size of the store, but often a lot of the seats are taken just because its so busy. Aside from all that, Bambu specializes in Vietnamese dessert which is definitely not something I'm qualified to critique [seeing how I'm a white girl]. However, my boyfriends and his family are Vietnamese and they love their Che [Vietnamese desserts]. I'm a big fan of boba drinks so I feel much more qualified giving an opinion on them. The reason this place stands out from the rest of the boba places in the Sacramento area is because they use fresh ingredients as opposed to syrups for their boba smoothies. I personally love the lychee, which I would suggest to anyone who likes lychee or is willing to try something new. Their milktea has a strong taste of tea as opposed the the creamy ones others might be used to from other local boba places. I have no complains about their tapioca [boba balls] because they've always been made perfectly, which is super important to a delicious boba drinks, in my opinion. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys che or boba drinks. They have good customer service, delicious drinks, and a very inviting atmosphere. If you're not Asian you might feel out of place at first by large number of Asians and Vietnamese music videos playing inside, but dont worry about it! The coconut boba is my favorite in town! Love it and how they put the slices of coconut in your drinks!! My auntie got the avocado drink (can't remember what else it had in it) and it looked like guacamole. Wasn't super sweet either so it kind of threw us all off. This place is Hip for the younger crowd to just sit and chill. They have over 20 different desserts to choose from. My favorite ones especially is the #4&#6. It has jackfriut, coconut, jelly etc... there's pictures for you, if you get a little confused. It's.very refreshing. I came here for the black milk tea. Out of all the milk tea spots I've tried, i truly fell in love with this black milk tea, and adding the clear crunchy pearls was a plus for me. Service was fast, cashier woman was nice & helpful. I would come here often to get my fix, but at $5 for somewhat a small size drink is a little too much out of my budget. Chè sng sáo ht lu - Grass jelly, red tapioca, pandan jelly, jello, mung bean! The number 4 dessert, it has everything you want! Trust me. Avoid the taro, beans, unless you really love that creamy texture, its delicious but I could only get a spoonful of the taro but couldn't finish the rest. Also the girls are really sweet here, I was being a piglet, I admit and slurped up all the coconut juice and got a refill. I tipped $2 just because they had every right to say no. read more

Bambu serves some pretty decent Boba drinks. What earns it a high grade however, are the more exotic Vietnamese dessert drinks. My personal favorite is the Bo Dam (Avocado Smash). This biggest let down of Bambu at this location is that it's cash only. Unfortunately not accepting plastic as a form of payment has prevented us from patronizing this place more often. Considering we don't really live too close to the shop it feels like a waste when we are nearby and we aren't carrying cash. read more

Mmmm mmm good! My favorite place to grab Asian dessert. I am so glad that Bambu came to Sacramento! Normally, I would have to go to Vietnamese restaurants to get my three color dessert but now I can just drop into Bambu and quickly get my dessert on the go without the hassle of having to sit in at a restaurant. Bambu is a favorite of many of my friends and family members and a must-go anytime I am in the area. There is something for everyone! If you don't want to have a delicious traditional dessert drink, then you can order a coffee or a milk tea or a smoothie or one of the million other drink choices available. This review is for service only. Drinks were decent but they need to work on their service. Especially to the cashier girl who work on Saturday at 3 PM。i ordered a custom order of longans with coconut water and i clearly repeated my order twice saying WHITE longans. The order came up with yellow longans and the cashiers said in a very rude manner saying i repeated the order with yellow longans。she doesnt speak good english and maybe she heard what i said wrong. I would be fine with that and maybe an apology. But not a reply in a very rude tone. read more
