But on the downside the boba wasn't good at all. Maybe because it was late at night. I felt like the boba has been sitting for way too long and is not fresh at all. Minus 1 star for boba failing! I love Bambu and it's a good break from all the regular milk tea spots for a sweet drink. Whenever I come here, I always get the avocado smoothie with tapioca pearls. But I'm yelping because the most recent time I was there, the avocado smoothie was really bitter and gross. I went to purchase another drink and he noticed I had barely touched my smoothie and when I told him the problem, he offered to switch my drink immediately at no cost. He was very very nice about it! And then when he got my new drink, he brought out another avocado smoothie! The lady in the back accidentally used the wrong avocados it turns out. The new avocado smoothie was delicious :) This place is delicious and it offers wonderful customer service which can be a rare find these days. Loved this place. I ordered a coconut almond milk tea with grass jelly. Amazing. And the prices here are the "hook up" meaning Not expensive. My friend ordered a smoothie with jelly and together I think it was like $7 they tasted great. The environment. Modern comfortable couches. Pretty lively light green walls. Inspirational art on the wall. Buddhas, and of course, lots of beautiful bamboo. The guy at the counter was soo friendly and mixes what you want together for your personalized drink. I recommend trying the one I got, written in the first paragraph. People seem to love this place, once we got there there were a few people then more came in. It has a few table that can accommodate maybe like 8 people each. Separate bathroom, clean, nice smell unlike your basic public restroom, key required. So, so good. Bambu is the first of it's kind in San Francisco, and a great addition to the city. Bambu a great place to go if you are willing to try something new. I have been here a few times and have made it a goal to try everything on the menu in order. Bambu is a cozy place with trendy chairs, tables, and comfy sofas. I don't really like getting the Che (sweet dessert drinks) and eating it on the sofa because it gets really messy! But the other drinks such as their Boba is fine. Every time I have been here, the staff has been very friendly and helpful towards ordering the Che. I have been to the bathroom in there once before, and it is really clean and tidy. I have gotten a few of their Che drinks before, and a Jasmine Tea Boba. My favorite Che is #17 (coconut milk, pandan jelly, and taro paste). It has just the amount of sweet and the drinks themselves are quite large. Bambu is also a great place to sit around and talk with your friends. Bambu puts care in everything they make, and I absolutely love that. Just tried Bambu for the first time!! But I actually didn't try any of their specialty drinks so this is just a review on their milk tea. I asked for a Mango Milk Tea with Lychee Jelly but I noticed the cashier forgot to write down the Lychee Jelly on my order and halfway through drinking it I realized I didn't get any jelly in my drink. So...yeah, it was only okay. But as someone who is lactose intolerant, I did notice it didn't affect my body like milk tea normally does so that was nice! read more

Had agreed to meet up with my friends Daisy L. and Diane C. to work on an assignment for class at Purple Kow, but changed plans and came here instead because the line at Purple Kow was out the door and out of the question. I'd been craving chè trái cây for the past week, and I'm glad that Diane suggested this place! I had such a bad case of Mad Purple Kow disease that Bambu completely slipped my mind. From the outside, Bambu looks jank as hell, but the interior is amazing! The layout makes it a great spot to chill. They have Viet vibes scattered everywhere that give the place an oriental feel. They also have a TV that plays various channels at their discretion. No idea why another review said that this place is dirty, but this place is actually spot on clean. There weren't too many people here, but then again, almost everything on Geary is crickets. At a glance, the chè trái cây looked almost too beautiful to eat. After many Instagram and Yelp photo-ops, I finally went at it and fell in love at first taste. My cravings were raving, but my love can only last for so long. It got more and more sickening and fruit-heavy with each spoonful and I couldn't take anymore of it midway. The chè trái cây definitely didn't have enough milk to balance everything out. It had a lot more fruit than what I'd prefer and the pandan jelly was seriously undercooked. Most of it could probably be just my personal preference, but I probably should've went with something less chè-intense. It could also be that the chè portions are large and could be shared amongst two people to level out the playing field. Make your visit count and get a stamp card! The lines are crazy here and today it took a whole hour from waiting to getting my drink..ouch!! They have to have a better ordering system - think of jamba juice system..just saying. Plus, they need another cashier. I did like the smoothie better cuz coconut juice does not agree with me. I googled it and I guess coconut juice does not agree with some people. Finally! It's open! I have been waiting for Bambu to be open in San Francisco. The opening date kept being pushed back for some reason, but YAY!! It's open now! I used to drive all the way to Century Mall for my Che fix, but now it is here in San Francisco. I went there last night. Came at the right moment, because quickly there was a line of about 10 people behind me. The place has many sofas and seats, and it was already full of people enjoying their Che and smoothies. I was greeted warmly by the nice lady at the register. After five minutes, my order was ready, packed to go, with shaved ice on the side. Totally enjoyed my Che at home while watching Korean drama!! I ordered the #10 but didn't enjoy the red tapioca (can someone explain to me why they have a crunchy texture?! What is it made out of?) The space is nice with some tables and couches for lounging, but once school lets out hoards of teenagers fill every inch of the place. I admit that this place makes drinks that are a perfect balance of ice, sweet, and things-to-chew-on. Another positive thing is that they accept card, and other types of payment. I also appreciate that they have a large menu, ranging from specialty drinks, to coffee beverages, and smoothies. The atmosphere is also very nice. Very homely, but the furniture is extremely modern, and a great atmosphere to talk and even do work - although it would be a little bit rude since it does get very busy (I mean out of the line). Aside from the horrific parking situation that cost us 30 minutes of circling and resulted in a 3 block walk, this place was almost exactly what we were looking for. I wanted a quiet, sweet, and comfortable experience and Bambu delivered. We walked in around 7pm on a Saturday evening (hence parking sucked) and two workers looked relieved to see some business. The tables looked new and the purple flower accents made the place fresh and lively. I spotted some boardgames in the corner and knew we would be here for a while. (Monopoly, connect 4, jenga, scrabble and playing cards.) we ordered two hot milk teas (one oolong one black 1/2 sweet) and a waffle. The waffle was a pleasant surprise with bit of coconut and the perfect amount of sweetness. I wouldn't recommend ordering a sweet drink to accompany it though because my friend got an instant stomach ache with his 100% sweet drink. Next time I will order a regular unsweetened tea and two waffles because they are delicious. Or maybe I'll try a more creative dessert option. Either way, I enjoyed my experience here. The desserts are giant cup fulls of ice, coconut milk and a variety of jellies. Really good if you like asian desserts! My friend and I got #2 and #3 which were essentially the same thing. We both got less sweet which is still pretty sweet. The ice on top is refreshing but feels random. Definitely needs to be mixed in when you're eating. All those yummy toppings swim in fresh coconut water and topped with ice. The only reason why they got one star taken off was because my number 1 had a very frugal helping of coconut meat. I only had one slice :( Sometimes I'll get the number 5, which is really filling. It's avocado smashed with coffee jelly, tapioca pearly, and other jellies.
