Upon many other visits, I've decided to lower my ranking of Sweet Mango. I've found that outside the T4, there aren't many amazing options. The fries come in a tiny portion, the rice crepes with sauce were alright. The black seasame paste was good. I didn't like the fried spicy tofu, it should have come with a sauce. Ultimately, I think you need to be careful with what is ordered inorder to avoid ordering over-priced items such as the fries or rice crepes. read more

Today being the last day of historical spring heat wave in SF, and with UberEats 40% off, Sweet Mango Dessert & Cafe is my must have. The egglette deluxe is the bomb, cold food but just the right amount of fruits and sweet, perfect to have a good lunch but not adding extra heat to the body. I ordered two of the rice balls, mango juice because it is that good and I want an extra for tomorrow to enjoy during a milder weather. I love the mangos here even though they are not most ripe. Eating healthy (less ripe with less fruit sugar) with less sweet is also important to me. Not shown here but I also like their black sesame & bird nest cold dessert! Great dessert spot and I appreciate that it stays open until late into the night. The pictures are a bit deceiving though. We ordered the taro, red bean, mochi with coconut milk dessert, which looked really big in the picture but it ended up being a small bowl, which didn't seem worth it to me considering the price point. The fruit toast castle however was really tasty. The toast was perfectly crispy while still being soft on the inside. The menu is expansive and the desserts come out pretty timely. I love the variety of Hong Kong desserts they have. If he doesn't pay for your dinner and dessert, let that SWEET MAN-GO!! I've had Sweet Mango a few times, and I'd say this is a solid dessert café that stays open late. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is nice because there's easy parking, plenty of open seating, and they serve savory snacks too if you don't have a sweet tooth.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My first time trying Sweet Mango was through a delivery order. The delivery wasn't too far -- it's located right across from Chinatown. I ordered the Mango Sago, Bubble Waffles, and a drink (I can't remember which one). The Mango Sago was great -- it came in a decent-sized to-go container, and they didn't skimp out on anything. The mangoes were perfectly ripe, fragrant, and soft. The sago mixed in so well, adding an interesting texture. What I love about these fruit sago desserts is that you can finish them without feeling guilty or bloated. Ordering the Bubble Waffles for delivery wasn't the best decision. By the time I got to them, they had completely cooled down, which made them chewy -- kind of like mochi waffles. Still good, but not the same. Dining in person makes a huge difference here because most of the food is best served fresh -- and that all comes down to one thing: temperature. No thermometers needed here, just trust me. The second time I tried Sweet Mango with my sweet man, we had the Strawberry Sago, which was disappointing. Yes, the strawberries were beautifully fresh and red without a blemish, but for some reason, strawberries tend to be hit or miss. Most that you find at local grocery stores are very acidic -- almost like tomatoes. They're not very juicy and are rather firm to bite into instead of melting in your mouth like ripe mangoes do. The Bubble Waffles tasted totally different hot and fresh. The outside is thin and crispy, and the inside is soft and light. The Bubble Waffles even taste sweeter when eaten right away, so that's what I recommend. The fried tofu comes out piping hot, and no matter how long I waited, every time I bit into a piece, the outside was light and crispy while the inside was soft and steaming hot. I had no patience to wait for them to cool down, so I ended up chugging my water while huffing and puffing from the heat inside. Overall, I enjoy snacking here, but I will let you know that for some reason, Venmo is the preferred way to close the tab -- and I don't really get why. So make sure your SWEET MAN is prepared with Venmo or cash. read more

We got the popcorn chicken and durian mochi. The durian mochi was really good. I tried to eat it all in one bite but found myself needing to, as the kids say "savor the flavor". Visited a Thursday night with a group of friends. The spot was empty, so we were able to grab a table immediately. It was a single employee managing the whole store, so the service was a bit slow, but worth the wait. We ordered the glutinous rice balls in mango juice, the bird's nest mango, coconut juice & black glutinous rice, and the honey toast castle to share with. The rice balls in mango juice were delicious, the combination of the rice, the juice, and the ice cream was phenomenal! It was my first time trying the bird's nest and I wasn't a fan. It doesn't have a lot of flavor and it's gelatin-like but chopped. The flavor comes from the rest of the "toppings". The honey castle was delicious! The toast was very crunchy and buttery, so with honey and ice cream it made the perfect combination between sweet and salty.
