Lots of gluten free options when we went. They were pretty cleaned out of everything! We did show up 20 min before closing. Husband loved it all. Boston cream cupcake, brownie w Carmel, ginger cookies (i loved these)!

Peanut butter cookie, eat with a drink

Little local (vegan!) baked good shop with a heavy emphasis on Scandanavian goods like semlor and rye breads. I was surprised by the varieties of both sweet and savory goods. I did end up getting the semla, which as a little dense and dry at the same time but the cream was so, so good. The chocolate on the peanut butter cookie I got tasted as good as it looked: delicious, but very melty. I really appreciate a cute spot like this that's located within walking distance of the train station. A great hangout spot/shop to grab a picnic snack.

What an amazing spot! Great location right in front of a cute park. Staff were so friendly, even had some furry pets in there who were adorable. Everything we got was fantastic. Savory- the biscuit sandwich is so unique and bursting with flavors like cheezy, plant based protein, pesto, and a perfectly cooked biscuit Sweet- We got cupcakes, cookies, peanut butter bites, snickerdoodle cookie was great! More savory- sausage rolls, a Smorga which was very authentic! Our first time trying Scandinavian food. 1000% recommend to support this local shop! They cook with love you can taste it

I specifically asked for a Heart shaped cake when placing my order last week on Thursday 11/20. I was told the job could be done and picked up today 11/26. When I pick up the cake, it looks nothing like a heart shaped. When i complained about the cake i was told by their manager that everyone in the bakery believes this looks like a heart and its all about one artist eye vs another artists eye. When it comes to shapes, there is no such thing as an artist eye. Its a shape. If i said to think of a circle you wouldnt think of a triangle Another thing was the finish of the cake as well, the icing was not smooth, pretty rugged if you ask me and she told me its not possible to be smooth. I've seen cakes have smooth finishes so thats not true Lastly, the manager told me i rushed them in making this cake because i placed the order so last minute, i didnt realize giving you 6 full days was rushing you I'll include pictures of the cake I received and what a heart shaped cake really looks like

Ask the Community - Carina's Bakery

Do you have Finnish Rye Bread?

They had a pumpernickel rye bread and I was quite excited. But it was gluten free and not what I considered "real pumpernickel". They had Swedish cardamom rolls which were delicious.

    Do you make pumpernickel bread?

Hi, James! We bake gluten-free pumpernickel bread, yes. Please call the bakery at (503) 339-3187 to order in advance.

Hej! Vad kostar en medium princess tårta?

Hej! The cost of a 6 inch princess cake would be $60, an 8 inch would be $80. Tak så mycket!

Do you have non-vegan options as well?

Hi Michael! Thank you for your question. All of our food is made 100% vegan. Carina's Bakery does not use dairy, eggs, or soy ingredients, but I have many non-vegan friends who enjoy our treats! There are all kinds of sweet and savory options.…

What is the Beaverton Restaurant Week Special?

    Do you make cannolis?

I'm sorry, we currently do not offer cannolis, as we are a Swedish - themed bakery.

At this point I've tried a number of things here and every one of them were delicious! The Japanese pancakes were so fluffy and fun, called ahead just to make sure they could make them right after opening but couldn't get through. THEY CALLED ME BACK IMMEDIATELY!! I have never had a food place care enough to actually call back if they miss a call. I was so happy with the pancakes too, nicely made and yummy. Their tiny cakes are all perfect too, I'm in love with each one especially the PDX rose! So bright and flavorful, with a beautiful outside that matches its taste! Can't forget the Japanese Cream Cheese Bun, it's soooooo good and the price matches the taste (aka good price for a good dessert). Not too sweet but still delicious! Just gotta make sure you eat it fresh, forgot to eat my last one for an hour and it got dry but still had its yummy taste. I super recommend this place!!

I added breakfast to this place while they visited me for a few days. We called in our order as instructed on the website. Unfortunately no Boba was available for on the pancakes. When we arrived I was disheartened to find the place rather small either intense heat of a bakery, which made the lone table inside with a meandering fly the least bit welcoming. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

I thought we'd go there for some to-go, and hubby found a parking spot, just around the corner, in the shade. As he was turning right, I also spotted a 'bakery' written on the window. I was thinking of waiting for him, in the car, and just grab a chicken sandwich. But, after he left, I decided to go inside the bakery to browse. He was standing at the corner, reading the menu of the shop, when I called him to 'Come over here!' I didn't know what I just walked in. Ooddles & oodles of cookies, cakes, pastries, sandwiches, like a one-stop bakery, cafe to-go. I started to take a video, of the whole shop, but sadly, as I turned it off, I realized I was just turning it ON! Instead of buying one sandwich for each of us, we ended up buying 4 of our 'look scrumptious' pastries that could fill us up. (Photos are not good quality, because I thought I was video-taping it. That's the result!) We each shared everything! We both agreed, it was probably one of the best lunches we've eaten. The pastry were still warm, the cheese in our ham was melting in your mouth. The spinach was just out of the oven. Everything was just wonderful! We will surely stop by here again, and buy twice as much, should last us a week. My family came in needing to buy slices of cake we were ready to purchase and a line was forming and we were the first in line yet the workers were just standing in the back behind the cakes chatting. But maybe at the end of the day they don't look towards the door or maybe the tea was just too good to stop chatting about. Either way, hope they get trained to know when customers are lined up and ready to buy that they should try to get them taken care of so that lines don't form behind them.

I tend to pick from the shelf-stable pastries since for some reason whenever I visit it is always hot. That means I have to skip at the cake/pastry case even though the desserts look so tantalizing. My favorites are: Kare pan: House made beef curry inside of a deep fried donut coated with panko. I don't understand how it's possible for this creation to remain crispy even though it's stored at room temperature instead of the more usual warming lamps. The curry is thick and has generous chunks of beef and vegetables. The bread isn't really "donut" per se since that brings to mind something sweet with a tender crumb. It's more of a fried bread dough that's deliciously chewy. Bacon and blue cheese mini epi: Épis de Blé is a bread that looks like a sheaf of wheat that is very similar to a baguette. Their take has a chewier crumb and crust instead of a shattering crispy outside as with a traditional bread of this type. The cheese and bacon make this such a luxurious bread. They don't use the shelf stable bacon; they use the good stuff so it adds a great texture to the bread.
