I was immediately impressed with the selection and the size of these "sweet rolls". Shop staff were also very friendly and interactive. Our donuts were very tasty and my coffee was better than I expected. This will definitely be a return visit if or when I return.

My hubby has been trying to find a donut shop in the area that has a devil's food with peanuts to no avail. While we were having lunch, he pulled up their website and was delighted to see they do, in fact, offer one! We popped in on a Sunday around 2:00 pm, not expecting much to be left in the case, and were delighted to see a fully stocked case of donut wonders. I wish I had taken a photo, but you can check out others'. The shop is bright, welcoming, and clean. Sadly, they were out of the devil's food with peanuts, but now we know where to come for them! Our daughter got a devil's food with coconut, she got a maple old fashioned for her partner, I got a glazed chocolate with coconut, and my hubby got a devil's food with rainbow jimmies. I presume the owner helped us, based on the glowing reviews here. He was, indeed, warm and friendly. When we got our box of donuts home, I noticed he had put some complimentary donut holes inside, which was a sweet (literal and figurative) surprise. I didn't have a chance to eat my donut until this afternoon. I had put mine on a plate with some plastic wrap, and it was just as fresh and tasty as if I had just picked it up. Ironically, when we lived in the East Bay, CA, our favorite donut place for years was also called Donut King! It feels like the universe is sharing some sweet serendipity with us. THIS Donut King has it all-- fantastic customer experience and service, and a wide variety of fresh and delicious donuts. We look forward to returning!

They are brioche-based donut with a thick, heavy dough instead of being airy and fluffy. Well, they are unique, but they are definitely not my favorite and they are quite expensive. They're known for creative flavors, but creative does not mean it tastes good. The famous Blueberry Bourbon Basil donut was so doughy and cakey (hard type), blueberry jam was too sweet and completely overpowered the subtle taste of bourbon and basil. The apple fritter was the same, just sweet, doughy, and nothing special. We also tried the Cointreau Crème Brûlée, it is a custard donut comes with an orange liqueur pipette. Because the blueberry donut completely lack of bourbon taste, we actually used that pipette to squeeze the liqueur into the blueberry donut. We had the coffee, they're just average, nothing special. Definitely a wrong choice I made.

I tend to pick from the shelf-stable pastries since for some reason whenever I visit it is always hot. That means I have to skip at the cake/pastry case even though the desserts look so tantalizing. My favorites are: Kare pan: House made beef curry inside of a deep fried donut coated with panko. I don't understand how it's possible for this creation to remain crispy even though it's stored at room temperature instead of the more usual warming lamps. The curry is thick and has generous chunks of beef and vegetables. The bread isn't really "donut" per se since that brings to mind something sweet with a tender crumb. It's more of a fried bread dough that's deliciously chewy. Bacon and blue cheese mini epi: Épis de Blé is a bread that looks like a sheaf of wheat that is very similar to a baguette. Their take has a chewier crumb and crust instead of a shattering crispy outside as with a traditional bread of this type. The cheese and bacon make this such a luxurious bread. They don't use the shelf stable bacon; they use the good stuff so it adds a great texture to the bread. It's not heavy in blue cheese flavor, so even though I don't like blue cheese, I still adore this bread.

The only items that were not readily available were the sandos. We placed an order and waited 10 minutes. Those fresh sandwiches were excellent. The server was incredibly friendly and offered us to-go bags. But we finished everything in one sitting. It is a lot of carbs but everything was just too appealing and delicious. The bread was soft and fluffy. The curry was vibrant and distinctive. This was our favorite breakfast for the trip.

This sandwich has Gouda cheese, baby peppers, sweet onion, lettuce and a house bean spread, all on their bakery fresh bread. It has just the right level of zip to light up those taste buds. Paired with a nice cup of java, and I'm a happy camper there. Just the smell of freshly baked/baking bread alone is a nice wakeup. I've had other breakfast sandwich options there as well, and all have been great for me (tastewise!). My only complaint is the location/parking, which can be a little snarly. Absent that, we love this place. Writing this review makes we want to head down there right now!

Their pastries are delicious, they have the best coffee cake I have literally ever had. Their biscuits are also to die for (they make a killer breakfast sandwich). I'm not shocked they are packed on the weekends. Service has also always been friendly and prompt. In fact I now come here regularly for their chai tea lattes
