Finally visited yesterday for a late lunch. My friend arrived first and ordered us some wings for appetizers. I got there later around 2:10pm and they usually close for off hours at 2:30pm so it was a bit rushed. Decided that we were both going to order the lunch combo deal for $19.99 (although adding any protein cost at least $1 more). Been wanting to try their pancakes and brunch menu though, so I guess that will be for another time. Food was served fairly quickly and service was pretty straight to the point. The reason for the 2-star rating was because the sweet chili sauce that came with the wings did not complement the dish. The wings were good, but the sauce wasnt like the usual sweet & spicy sauces we were used to. Onto my pad thai, it had a nice tangy kick to it, but was soo salty. I could barely take a few bites without having to take sips from my thai iced tea, which was quite subtle and not very sweet as Im used to. The spring rolls that came with the appetizer portion of the lunch combo were also vegetarian with only tofu... All in all, I had a lot of leftover food to take home and food was just okay...hopefully their brunch menu is more unique and special. Drinks & the food arrived around 2:25 and we were given the check at 2:42pm, so we only really ate for 15 mins or so. We felt bad for holding up their lunch and felt somewhat uncomfortable & rushed because all the staff were staring at us, so we decided to just leave and pack our food. My delicious scoop of ice cream on Roti was the size of a tennis ball (compared to fancy restaurants that serve 1.5" ball scoops). The Locomoco duck breast was tasty with mushrooms and onions. The warm oat honey lavender beverage was perect on a cold morning. My husband had Teriyaki ribeye bowl and mango sticky rice. Both entree and dessert were "just right" for him. My friend and I decided to grab breakfast here, and the menu was filled with fantastic choices. I went for the Thai tea French toast, and it was absolutely delightful ! The Thai tea syrup really enhances the flavor of the French toast. The presentation was stunning; the way they arranged the food on the plate was just lovely. I've been coming here for a couple of years and Banana Leaf is one of my favorite restaurants. it is consistently delicious! Service is lovely! Since it's a Wednesday and we came right when it opened it was just us, so obviously fast and good service. My family and I went here for brunch this morning and it was great! Even without a reservation, our party of 5 was seated within 5 minutes of arriving at the restaurant. Our order was taken shortly after, and we didn't have to wait long for our order either! For drinks, we got a cappuccino, honey oat lavender tea latte, caramel macchiato, house coffee, and a strawberry matcha latte. All the drinks were really good, with the exception of the matcha latte, which was just okay - grainy and not very creamy. For food, I ordered the kaeng karee gal tod 10/10 crispy chicken, buttery roti, rich yellow curry, with jasmine rice. The food was okay. We ordered the Thai tea pancakes with bacon and eggs and a garlic beef Benedict. The timing of when food comes out could be executed better. My bacon and eggs were brought out first instead of coming with the pancakes. The pancakes then came about 5 minutes later. It was about 5-10 more minutes when the second dish came out. It would have been better for all the food to come out at the same time rather than one at a time. The Thai tea pancakes were a large portion and were pretty good. The garlic beef with the Benedicte was also a large portion however the beef was a bit dry and chewy. The potatoes that came with it were cooked well with a nice crispy outside. We always like trying new restaurants in the area. This has been my second time going to Banana Leaf, and probably won't go back. If you have ribeye on the menu and the only option for cooking temp is well done, why even put it on the menu? If the chef can't cook a steak, please take it off the menu. That being said, I ended up getting a spicy basil. It wasn't spicy but I'm sure everyone has a different tolerance. My partner ended up with the loco moco. He wasn't very happy. It was hard and very dry. He said the sauce was very salty. I hope they figure it out. read more

I understand it's difficult to run a small business so credit to owner for trying to improve. The meat in Teriyaki bowl was cut too thick which made it dry. The sauce was not added evenly so the chef appeared lazy and quickly put meal together. Anyone who had decent teriyaki from Japanese restaurants would know that this teriyaki bowl was made wrong. The chicken sandwich had way too much sauce. The sauce should be thin and spread evenly on the bun. The chicken was also too thick like the teriyaki bowl. Parking in their lot or on the street. We ordered: steak Benedict, mini chicken & waffles, and fried calamari. To drink we ordered hot Thai tea latte, and traditional Thai iced tea. The service was good as was the food. We didn't have long to get our food. Some folks on Yelp complained that the steak in the steak Benedict was only cooked well done. My daughter who favors very rare (the meat is still warm because it was served just after the steer was butchered) steak enjoyed the well done steak. She said it was tasty and tender. It wasn't a cut of meat that would benefit from being cooked rare. It was a lot of food. The mini chicken (nuggets) and waffle cubes were yummy (syrup already on the waffles). The fried calamari wasn't anything special - not enough tentacles, and standard frozen calamari breading. I'd ask if they'd give me only tentacles if I ordered again. read more

I was excited to support a new restaurant and saw their food on TikTok. I came with my husband and daughter on Saturday at 10am. We stood at the front for a few minutes waiting for someone to greet us, with the restaurant being empty we figured we could sit down anywhere. So we sat and waited a few more minutes. The staff was in the back but visible chatting and laughing. I kindly asked for a high chair and if it was okay to sit in the open booth.
