Not the best customer service. I don't understand why they don't allow an outlet drop off. Are they not partner stores. I had to drive to another location to do a return. If they want to have an outlet store they should at least make it convenient. To do returns. This is just making it harder for people to shop. If they are going to have an outlet they should at least make it convenient to drop at either locations. Also i called customer service and they said I couldn't drop it off anywhere then. Lost my own belt when I was in the fitting room. Called and they said they would look for it - I came into the store next day just to double check and they still said they couldn't find it. My family insisted on checking the fitting room and once they saw that they immediately brought out my belt saying they had double checked and found it. LOL...what a coincidence.... read more

One of my least favorite BRs but the fact that it's inside a mall is convenient so we end up going often but always return disappointed! Google says they open at 11am on Sundays and they were having a team meeting even at 11:50am and the doors were locked! They should either update the hours or make sure their team meetings are done before the store opening time. read more

This is the weakest of the BR store locations in the south bay due to it's lack of inventory and variety. I've been a cardholder for many years and I shop at BR less and less. I stopped coming to this spot when the Valley Fair renovations were going on and recently went in for their Labor Day sale and I was amazed at what little clothes they had in stock. It's a very large store and it looked like they are trying to clear the shelves. I even asked if they were closing. I recommend the Great Mall location even though it is an outlet as they keep it well stocked. The other location that is better is it n downtown Los Gatos. Skip your trip here! read more

I've recently been promoted to a manager and besides acting like one I needed to look like one. Dress code at my work is very informal and probably business informal is a stretch for most. Nonetheless, I have always dressed a bit more savvy, even as a project manager. My wardrobe was a bit outdated, classic fit dress shirts and pants. I desperately needed to make it more modern, meaning something more body shaping. I believe first impressions are important and that includes how you present yourself physically. I was shopping around for a new wardrobe last Friday; accidentally and luckily I came across the new Banana Republic store (now across from Apple store). I've been to the old location and this is a huge improvement. It's no longer cluster-phobic and the men's section is probably the biggest improvement from the old location. The store is well organized with four main sections one would expect: women's, petite women's, men's, and combined sale section. The store shelves are kept very tidy, including the fitting rooms. With limited time on Friday, I was able to find a couple of items. I requested to have them placed on hold and handed them off to a sales representative with my name. On Saturday, my items on hold were actually there, which was a great start to my shopping marathon. I looked around for a sales rep. who was dressed fashionable, as they typically provide the best tips and suggestions. I was assisted by Sean, who was amazing. No pressure, just awesome service. He was exceptionally helpful and knowledgable with suggestions on how the different styles tend to fit. His fashion suggestions were familiar to me, which told me he was definitely a fashion expert. He was also quick with finding sizes and holding my clothes as I chose them. I spent over four hours there and walked out with over $1,500 of merchandise, for two reasons: clothing is high quality and the service was on par with Nordstrom. They also have a great rewards program for loyal customers. On Sunday I managed to go back for more and Sean was there again, as helpful as the prior day. Looks like I have found my new brand and plan on asking for Sean when I return. The manager at the register was also super nice and helpful. I'm a big fan for sure. read more

The last few collections have been pricey but a delight - materials used, style and cut - top quality! I have to give it to the team! Organized, polite and cheerful, always ready to help! I needed the dress shipped to my address in Texas. She spent a lot of time making sure the dress was exactly what I wanted and shipped the dress the same day. I bought some pants which ripped at the butt. The cashier said they were more than 60 days old, so even having the receipt didn't matter. Two months?? Is that the life expectancy of their clothes? The cashier than informed me that BR clothes "degrade in value really quickly, so these pants really aren't even worth anything." I asked to speak to the manager. My months old Banana Republic review was removed for a lack of details! ARRRRGHH! Maybe next time. As for Banana Republic, let me try and write a review that is a bit more on the thorough side this time. I've given this place a few shots and every single time, it left something to be desired. The staff doesn't never shows me care and concern, and when you're paying $40 bucks for a shirt, you would imagine you would be treated like royalty. OK, that might be a little too far fetched, but at least show some genuine interest in the wants of your customers. You're mainly paying for the Banana Republic name, but then again, isn't every place like that? This location is a bit larger than you might think it would be, and I don't have any qualms with the quality of the product, if I'm able to find something that actually works for me. This place is nothing special and I'm not sure why I would shop here again when their are so many better alternates in the mall. I remember when the mall first expanded, this was a two story establishment... and it was uber cool! Almost as good as the BR in South Coast Plaza. Unfortunately over the years, the quality of the materials have gone down hill along with consolidating the merchandise downstairs. Bleh! Good items are now far and few in between. They used to have 100% cashmere scarves and goodies. Now they're all blends. And yet they still charge an arm and a leg. FYI as a reminder to BR. You can't label something as "Cashmere" if it is not the largest percentage in the fabric!! MISLEADING!!! Customer service here is hit or miss. Sometimes you get lucky and you find someone who knows where the stuff is. Others ignore you and pass you off to someone else. I remember when the BR stuff here used to last washing after washing. Nowadays, you gotta dry clean otherwise it'll last about 10 washes before it mis-shapes. read more

First let start with the price, have anyone see the price on some of this items. I saw a blazer jacket the quality/material it not good but they want $500 dollar for it, are you joking me, it not a higher end brand name. Any way I bought it because it fit good and a about one week after I ran into problem with the jacket and return it but they giving hell and they will not give me my refund but exchange only. I told this issue up to the manager and he not much help eater so I have to do exchange but they don't have the same jacket and end up getting a store credit. I'm starting to convert some of my wardrobe to BR. I don't usually get stuff regular priced (it's 25% off full priced stuff now) because I find it in the sale/clearance section months later and get depressed about the fact that I could have waited those extra months to get a better deal. So I usually make my way to the stuff that's marked down. This BR is huge compared to the usual ones I go to. There was even a whole square room dedicated to straight up clearance. I'm in heaven! There's even an extra 40% off on already reduced items for women right now so go check it out! There's an extra 25% off for men's clearance now too. Man, I was so surprised that this BR has a bathroom in it too. And it's not even a dinky one person bathroom. It was legit with at least 3 stalls. Outside, there's even 2 plush chairs for someone to wait for you, if needed. How cool is that? The check out line is a bit long but it goes by fast. This was my first time walking into a Banana Republic store. We came here on our Valley Fair Mall adventure for my cousin from London. The store layout was nice, it's bright inside. The customer service here was slightly below average, the most I got from an associate was a smile from the girl that was in the fitting room. No worries though, I knew how to navigate on my own. The clothes here are pretty pricey. I found a beautiful maxi skirt that was around $130. Soon I'll be able to afford it when I get further into my career/life. I am not sure if I would come back here now. This place is good for basic (pricey) clothing like plain t-shirts and jeans. I may have to find my piggy bank to get enough to to buy that skirt. read more

I usually shop BR online but occasionally I stop in this location (fingers crossed there's a sale!) & usually find something cute. It is located just outside from Nordstrom's cosmetics. Today I purchased a super chick wallet for my friend's birthday present. It was on sale for 30% off plus another 10% off for BR cardholders. The team members behind the register are always pleasant and the ladies working in the dressing room are very accommodating. I shop here for all my work pants & skirts. Thank you for quality clothes! This was a small store and I'm glad to have gone. The best thing they had were the chairs, where I could sit and wait for my sister to shop. I love the clothing, the layout and so on. The problem isn't that the people who worked there were mean. They were super sweet and totally helpful. Unfortunately, they didn't know where things were. I remember asking someone for a particular coat in another color. They told me that they didn't have it. Then they told me that there were some other colors - only the fabric, style, closures, etc. (entirely different coat). They kept trying to pass a furry coat off as a pleatherish orange number that I liked. Also, each color of the furry coat was different. I wish they would have understood that. They were so busy trying to get me into a coat, that they didn't realize that I wanted two of the same coats in different colors - twinsies if you will. They were wasting my time and I lost interest in my coat. read more

I stopped by the Banana store at San Jose Valley Fair Mall on Monday, February 25, 2019, to return a jacket that I had bought online and received the Friday before. The first time I wore the jacket was to work on Monday, and I noticed in the morning that there was a hole in the fabric. When I got to the store and went to the register, a nice woman offered to process the refund for me. She took my receipt, looked up the purchase, and just needed manager approval to process the return. The manager, a young guy with dark hair, came over and briefly inspected the item. Imagine my surprise when he said, "We can't take this back. It is very worn." I had literally purchased the jacket the Friday before and worn it for about 2 hours on Monday morning. I work for a technology company, so it's not like I was outside on a construction site or something. The jacket was brand new. When I explained that to the manager, he snapped and said: "Nope, can't take it, manager's discretion." He then walked away and the nice lady at the register apologized to me. I left the store extremely frustrated as I am a VERY loyal BR customer who has spent thousands of dollars at the store. After leaving the mall, I drove 45 minutes out of my way to another Banana store, where the item was returned right away and the refund was issued with no questions asked. I don't know if the manager was having a bad day or if that is how customers are typically treated at this location, but I have never experienced anything like this at a retail store. read more

That place is a worst place for shopping since the store manager is changed, I am banana card holders and shop 2 days ago from that storei bought 2 shirts which never tried them at store, so I try it last night since one was too big the other one too short I decided to return it even though I would lost my coupon, So after long wait in the line manager refused to accept my return and she said it is not on the recipient, after I got frustrated and insisting checking the camera or ask your sales associate or sales rack, I have been accused that I change the tag on that shirt and after I said I will record this conversation they called the security on me and threatened me by being humiliated more!!!?? BR is my place to go to just like Express for Men when I am looking for a nice outfit for work or for going out. What I like about the place is that now that I have lost weight, the clothes actually fit! It is great to know that the quality of their clothes are top-of-the-line, but with quality comes cost. But hey, this is the high end of the Old Navy, Gap, BR relation...basically, you get what you pay for. I assure you though, you won't be disappointed when you're wearing the clothes and people notice you because of it! I really love the dress pants there and the Merino wool sweaters...if I can buy all of them, I will! Kudos BR for having great clothes that I can feel myself at! read more

HORRIBLE! So although I love the clothes, customer service there is terrible! I bought a pair of pants in the petitie section and turns out- as short as I am I still needed them hemmed- great. So i pay the $10 to have them altered. Bought on Aug 25, pick up date Aug 27. Didn't go to pick them up until the 7th or 8th of Sept. I ask the lady at the register for them and she takes forever! She busily runs around the store asking other people to help- turns out my pants had not returned. Ok so my 2-day pick up is not ready even over a week later? She says can you come back in a few hours?- Uh no. I ask to have it shipped. She agrees, for free too! She says that she will have it overnighted and sent out the same day. Ok- so then I call back 4 days later- someone else tells me that the pants are in the store. WTF? So I explain everything that previously happened, he apologizes tremendously and said they will have a coaching meeting with the chick and have my pants sent out. If I don't get them tomorrow or Tuesday, someone will be in big trouble. I would give them negative stars if I could. Grrr! read more

So I went to two different malls for a specific color that I was looking for a nice dress shirt. I came here and found it within fifteen seconds. They didn't have my size, (I just lost 50lbs, booyahhhh..) but whatever, it still looked good. The thing that irritated me was that there were two sides of the store with registers and only one side was open. Of course I came here on Black Friday and the place was inundated with retarded (not trying to offend my special friends) shoppers. This place took good care of me. Very helpful employees. Even though they were quite busy several employees still happily gave me their opinion on something I was interested in. I also appreciated the overall organization of the store. They had one of the most organized sale sections I've ever seen. Very impressive. I also have to comment on the young man who works here who was wearing heavy eye makeup. I applaud this store for being so progressive that they would let the employee express himself this way, and support him in embracing who he is. Also, I am proud of the young man for being brave enough to express who he is at his workplace. Things like this are a step in the right direction for equality. As such, when I go shopping, BR will be my FIRST stop from now on! read more

BR in three words: Overpriced. Pushy. Low-quality Over the years BR in general have steadily increased their prices, but the quality has decreased significantly. Notice the pic above. I mean $25 for a plain men's white tee is a bit steep, but then you realize it easily rips in the places it's supposed to be the toughest is concerning. But this store has a bit more problems: pushy sale people. I know they're doing their job, but it shouldn't be part of their job to ask everyone in a 20 feet radius is they need help and telling me their name every 2 minutes. In a span of 15 minutes there, 5 people tried to help me. It's a bit much. If you like to shop in peace, avoid this store. But the one time I asked for a stock check, they were rude and it took just over 15 minutes (and they didn't have it). This store in particular is also a bit messy. Things are sloppily folded, dressing rooms can be a bit messy, and why is the same shirt found in 3 different room? I find that there are other stores nearby that are cheaper and at least on par when it comes to quality. Also, they have an employee turnover rate of about 2-4 months, so obviously the people there don't like it there either. read more

I really only shop here during Friends and Family time as I can't justify the prices otherwise. I do like their clothing selection, however I've noticed that a lot of the pieces have started falling apart shortly after purchasing them. I really only get to wear them a half dozen times before I notice seams unraveling, wear in the fabric, etc. And everything does have some special care requirement. However, if I do shop at Banana, this is the location I go to. It's massive, has tons of dressing rooms, and the wait for said rooms is pretty short as they have so many and the staff direct the traffic. The low star rating though really is for the prices that just seem to keep going up and the quality of the clothing that is going down. read more

I have had a love hate relationship with Banana Republic. Today, I came here to buy some lounge pants. I was struggling to find my size when an employee named Andrei swooped in and helped me. He scanned through the entire store and managed to find what I wanted. He was very courteous, efficient and simply made my experience at the store fantastic. These days, when customer service at retail stores is dying the slow death, folks like Andrei are a fresh breeze of wind. Do not come here on the weekends. You will stand in line for at least 20 minutes. Is it the fact that they are slow at cashiering or are the customers just beezys? That being said, come here on the week day when there is no one in the store. Walk right up to the registers and pay- tres nice. Wow, this has got to be one of the most inefficient Banana Republic stores I've ever been to! Every time I go, there's a ridiculously looooong line for the register. It doesn't matter what time of day (day or night) or year (holiday shopping blitz or the winter retail lull), I kid you not, I wind up waiting in excess of 20 minutes in line to pay. It's ridiculous! For some reason, the store managers choose not to open the other registers to ease customer wait times. It's frustrating when you're in a hurry--once I simply left because I couldn't wait any longer, and Banana Republic lost a $200 sale. If this weren't the only store outside of San Francisco with a good selection of Banana's Heritage and Monogram lines, I wouldn't even bother setting foot inside this store. I guess that's the dilemma: deal with the traffic getting into the city or the traffic in line to pay at Valley Fair--honestly, I don't know which one's worse. Ugh. read more

PART I: MAD MEN WEDDING SUIT Last March I came to look at the latest Mad Men collection. I came here with a purpose - to find a suit to wear at my sister's wedding, which is late August. When I found the suit (navy, plaid, wool suit) I knew that was the suit I wanted to buy. Luckily I found out there was 40% discount any items purchased (I ended up saving $200 when I purchased the Mad Men suit). I wanted to try everything that was a Mad Men brand. Even the white, tailored slim dress shirt was a Mad Men brand. The only thing this store did not have was the Mad Men tie. For the jacket I tried 2 sizes: 42R and 44R. The 44R was too big for me, but the 42R was slightly tight on me. I asked several employees for their suggestion and they recommended the 42R. The tailored, white shirt was really tight on me and one of the employees suggested I should get a regular fit shirt, but it wasn't a Mad Men dress shirt. I decided to get the Mad Men tailored dress shirt and gave me an incentive to lose weight before my sister's wedding. Why not a 5-star rating? Well this was my fault. I'm not an expert in suits so I assumed the 42R jacket was the right size and I didn't ask if they carried a 42S. Several months later I regretted this decision. Was I able to rectify this mistake? You have to read Parts II and III from other Banana Republic stores I visited. Overall I was pleased to purchase the Mad Men suit. read more

I particularly like this store at the Valley Fair because they're a huge store with a good size & clothing selection. They always have nice trendy clothes & dresses for going to work and/or a party. But i feel like their prices keep going up every year. I guess this is what you pay for your money with better quality. Kind of a cluster-f during the weekends because there are so many shoppers and such long lines for both the dressing rooms and the cash registers. But if you stop by after work, it is much cleaner and the ratio of staff to shoppers is much easier to navigate. The staff are almost always friendly and helpful. They have spent the time to dig through sales racks for me to find just the right size. I really appreciate that. But their sales racks are usually pretty messy, so I can only stand to visit once every couple of months when my work clothes need a new addition. Also, they often run in-store promotions where everything is 30% off! I think the last time that happened, I stopped in on a Tuesday. read more
