Reviewing for a friend: Typically I rate on a 11.5 point scale. However, I will shoehorn my rating into this 5 point convention for the sake of "mainstream media". My ratings consist of four criteria: bread to ward off the gnawing hanger, cocktails to ward off the soberness, appetizers as conversational pieces, and mints. Mints are the most important palette cleanser for any meal. That being said here are the ratings: 1. Bread: garlic knots were slightly underdone and super doughy. Great garlic and butter coverage over whole knot. +3.41 2. Cocktails: lychee martini too good to pass up. Martini comes with a real lychee which is impossible to come by in northeastern nj. +4.76 3. Appetizers: flavorful and juicy meatballs, but the best part was the server brought over a full dish of Parmesan cheese to pour on top +1.72 4. Mints: no mints. I prefer butter mints. Perfect amount of chalkiness. None were provided. Very dissapointed. Left crying. Hospitality lacking. +0 Final ranking: 9.89/11.5 Converted to 5 point scale= 4.3/5. Been here a bunch of times mainly because they make really good food. The decor, furniture and menus themselves need some serious updating and reupholstering but the part that counts most is the food and they get that part right. Big and family friendly and the owner is always around and appears to be friendly with locals. I recommend it over most chain Italian spots. read more

We're from Astoria so finding a solid Italian restaurant has been some what tricky in our new town of Nanuet. Last night we ate at Banchetto for the first time and it did not disappoint. Every item of food was delicious, from the bread accompanied by oil to the sangria and of course our main course. Absolutely delicious! read more

Haven't eaten here in quite a few years but was in the mood for Italian and wanted to sit outside with my dog. My sister, niece and I went and easily got a table. It was early on Saturday night. We got some cocktails which were good and started with plain cheese pizza to share. The pizza was good. We also ordered a chicken parm panini and Oscar's chicken banchetto. The panini was dry and niece ate less than half. The Oscar's chicken was also just a dry plain breaded chicken cutlet wrapped in a lasagna noodle with dollop of ricotta and covered in melted mozzarella and some vodka sauce. It was not very cheesy and underwhelming. Service was also pretty slow though I think our waiter was working too many tables both inside and outside with a large party inside. We were there 2 hrs. Took about 25 -30 min for pizza, then another like 40 min for entrees. Then waited about 20 min for check. I probably won't go back based on the dry chicken. They are not inexpensive and for $24 entree you should get more that 2 small dry cutlets wrapped in a noodle. read more

I must say I used to frequent this restaurant about 3 times a month per COVID but man has it changed since. I visited on Father's Day and my experience was horrible. I made a reservation which I must say they were good at however we were seated outside (our choice) and around the corner (not by choice) we waited about 20 minutes and no waiter came. We approached staff who apologized for the miscommunication. Once again we wait 15 minutes and no one approaches until knee again we go in and the waitress claims she was not told that we were seated outside. Waitress with an obvious attitude comes around the corner and takes our order. The owner comes out apologizes brings some of the best salad I've had and has a chat with us. After telling him I've been coming for years and I wanted to brag about this location he leaves and the waiter comes with bread, almost slams it in the table and walks away. Waitress comes back with attitude and although cups were empty we never got our beverages refilled. The food came and I thought as always it was fantastic. My brother in law says enough is enough goes inside and asks for a refill and also complains about the waitress attitude. She comes out and approaches our table and says I hear someone here says I have an attitude. After a conversation discussion we try to get out point accords but to no avail. I have never been more embarrassed to recommend a restaurant to anyone and this will be the last time I visit this location. read more

Whatever you do, DONT order steak if you would like it cooked medium or medium rare. My filet mignon came back well done and the Chef told the waitress to tell me it was done correctly!!!!. The waitresses was very nice but The chef needs to go back to chef school. If you want good steak done right, go to a steakhouse instead!! however my family members who ordered pasta thought it was wonderful and the lamb chops apparently were also very good... eat at your own risk!!! read more

My girlfriends and I came here for dinner and we were not disappointed! I honestly wasn't expecting to be very wowed but I have to say everything was just perfect from start to finish. Eddie, the owner, and our waiter were very responsive to us. I have food allergies and Eddie went over the menu with me recommending what would be safe for me to eat and alerting the chef to my needs. The fresh fig cocktail was amazing! The fried calamari we had for starters was done right! I ordered my favorite entrée-Chicken Francaise. I always get this when I go to an Italian restaurant. This is how I rate my restaurants. Lol! I've had good ones and bad ones. This one was very good and a bit different because it also had hearts of palm, which I had never seen on a Chicken Francaise. It was definitely tasty! We had a dessert assortment and cappuccino to end our evening. Eddie made us feel very comfortable and at ease here. I have been to this establishment a few times and it never disappoints. We were shown to our table by our server (Katherine), where we looked over the menu. My sister chose the South African lobster tails, potatoes in a rich garlic sauce. I chose the Cavatappi Flourentine with Jumbo Shrimp in a creme sauce. There was so much food in both of our orders that we couldn't finish and took the rest to go. Everything was savory and delicious.Our server came to our table to make sure that everything was satisfactory. She was also very knowledgeable with wine and spirits. Took my wife and parents here to try and it didn't disappoint. The portions were generous and the price wasn't bad. We started with the meatball sampler which came with 6 meatballs (3 types) which were all delicious, and the hot antipasto. I got the sunday sauce for my main course which was delicious. The rest of the table got chicken parm, salmon and a burger which they all loved. I will definitely be back to try some more things on the menu. read more

Terrible! We haven't been to Banchetta in Nanuet for years and decided to have lunch there. Oh wow - soon as we got in we were told to just sit anywhere by the man by the front of the dining area.... No eye contact even but ok, not the end of the world... My husband and I were actually happy to see there were a lot of people, that business is good! And so we ordered...appetizer, and for main course, as I pointed to the pizza choices, I asked our waitress if (while pointing to the menu page) if the NY cheese steak pizza would be good for 2 - she just asked "Oh you want to share one? Sure" I even told my husband...hmmm, she couldn't have given me an attitude just because my husband and I decided to share a pizza (?). So the appetizer (salmon & pastrami crostini) came - but the wait for the pizza was wayyyy too long. I kept on thinking, the place is very busy, we are not in a rush anyway...then finally!! Our order came - cheese steak sandwich with fries. I started to say very calmy "This might be for another table, we wanted the pizza.." and the waitress rudely interrupted me with "No, that's what you ordered.." Nope, I did not bother to argue, and told my husband we waited for so long anyway. Here's the deal-io...The sandwich was cold, the meat was "gum-chewy" and bland. I didn't even bother to finish half of my half. And the waitress even stopped by after some time to ask if everything's ok, lol! Wow! Quick memory loss? My husband also noticed that another customer from a nearby table got the wrong order but just as we did, opted to eat his. Well, we are not bad people, we still left a 20% tip, as our "farewell" token to this place. Yes, it may have been a busy time, but it only takes one time and one time only to make that good impression on customers especially if your business relies mainly on customer care/service. I am sure we will not be missed there, and by the looks of it Banchetta seems to be doing well. One thing for sure, we will not miss not going there either. read more

I've been to this restaurant three times to dine in and ordered out a couple times, each time we dine in we've noticed that all the black people are seated in a cluster together to the right side of the restaurant towards the parking lot. At first I thought it was purely coincidental, but after having experienced it three times I am convinced that this restaurant is promoting seating segregation. The food was good and service was ok, and the food was a bit overprice. This racial segregation is enough for me to stop spending my money there. read more

Banchetto Feast Well located near The Shoppes at Nanuet in Rockland County is this large Italian-ish style restaurant. The ambiance is pleasant enough with a nice, albeit catering hall, aura. The menu is expansive (DINER expansive), with pastas, seafoods, steaks, burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc. etc etc. The salad was the highlight of the meal, fresh, crispy, well dressed greens with pears, cranberries, walnuts and cheese. It was a very tasty salad. The pizza was pretty good (crust was a bit hard to chew and burnt). The pasta vodka was also pretty good. The service is not unpleasant but IS haphazard, not polished, and mixed up. (A completely incorrect entree was brought to our table and was promised to be corrected in 5 minutes. The entree was was still not served 30 minutes later (after everyone else had finished eating) so one of us left without eating.) While staff appears to be running everywhere, there does not seem to be anyone in charge. There is certainly no one to check on your table, your orders, your food (or lack thereof) etc. Maybe we would have enjoyed Banchetto Feast more IF we all received our entrees (we did not) OR, if someone, anyone, tried to rectify the situation (they did not). Banchetto Feast needs a manager on duty to help things run smoothly. With a myriad of food options, a good location and ambiance, Banchetto Feast could be better than just okay if it was well run and more organized. read more

DONT EAT HERE ! Quality sucks and is gross !!!! I really did love this place at some point , but this place has fallen off. I ordered a Grilled Calamari Salad for lunch which I have ordered about two dozen times in the past. The past two times I have ordered it, it was awful but this time it was so bad that I had to take a few pictures to share with my fellow yelpers. The salad looked so bad I was afraid to eat it. I even poured it into another container to get a better look. The salad was discolored and on the verge of going bad. Spoiled vegetables such as tomatoes or maybe they were canned I'm not 100% sure but they were definitely NOT edible. They gave me a few pieces of grilled calamari that was rubbery and over cooked. Definitely not worth the $14 I paid. In the past they used to give so much calamari . If I hadn't been here before and never had their food maybe I would have let it slide. I know how good the food here could be and ONCE WAS that is what makes this so disappointing. I'm going to recommend that you DON NOT DINE HERE OR ORDER OUT. Sorry they really let me down. We were visiting from NYC and had a lovely Saturday evening dinner here with our teen and tween daughters- we tried it on a whim looking for a place that had pasta the evening before a swim meet. We sat outside because it was an unseasonably warm (November!) night and they have lovely heat lamps. The inside also looks really pretty. Our order included brussels sprouts, short rib hero with fries, mac and cheese, butternut squash ravioli, a grilled chicken salad and some mini cannoli -- everything was really delicious. Oh- and how could I forget the bread basket, which included warm dinner rolls and Italian bread, plus olive oil. The menu is huge so it's great if you have people with different eating preferences. Would definitely return. The staff was lovely too- we didn't have any issues with our order or long waits. read more

I made a reservation 5 days in advance for 5 people. We all arrived together. 3 employees were standing as hostesses but not one of them would make eye contact with me. After several minutes I stated that we had a resevation for 5 and that we were all here. It's like they thought I was interrupting and they took us to the very back of the restaurant, to a booth by the kitchen door. The service was equally poor, as if we were an afterthought and they came when they had time. The waiter never told us the specials. He never offered us a salad with our meals. The dinner took a long time and had no vegetable. 5 at a booth with coats is crowded, so I took our coats to the front and asked if there was a coat rack and the hostess pointed OUTSIDE the restaurant. I was confused and asked again where, and again she pointed. I asked "Outside"? and she said yes. Sure enough, I look outside the restaurant into the foyer and there is a coat tree with 2 coathangers. Mind you, this is an unsupervised area and right next to the outside door. I will never go back to this restaurant again. They were rude and did not know how to serve their patrons with dignity and grace. I can get better Italian food at many other places too. read more

Racism. When we arrived 4 tables who arrived after us got their food before us. Our waiter barely checked on us and when I received my steak it was ice cold. Also, they did not box our food leftover food, however, they boxed every other table besides ours. Only difference between us and the other patrons was the color of our skin. Portobello mushroom wasn't what we expected and wasn't that great, but the Chilean sea bass was outstanding and they listened and didn't use dairy - didn't have to A the wine sauce was a great touch. What a let down... for a Monday evening and it not being very busy at all, service was incredibly slow. A table was sat down beside us about 15 mins after we arrived and they received all of there food well before we did. I guess they had a better night then us. The atmosphere is very nice, looks fancy, too bad the service and food didn't match. The cheeseburger that I ordered to be medium well came out well done and completely flavorless. I couldn't even finish half of it. The fries were ok, they kind of saved the day. My fiancées tap beer was warm.
