Banchetto is a great Italian restaurant with delicious food and lovely staff. Today we went for lunch. We had the hot antipasto which had eggplant rollatini, meatballs, fried calamari & fried shrimp. All was delicious. I linguine & clams fry diavalo. It was so tasty but I was full from the hot antipasto so I will be eating for lunch tomorrow. The restaurant was PACKED on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and stayed packed until we left. Ive been here before & have had the mussels which were a favorite. Anything Ive ever had here has been really great. I wasn't a huge fan of the pizza but that is the only item I wouldn't recommend. read more

The food was excellent as always yet what caught my attention was the lack of respect, when we got seated it took us longer than usual to be greeted by our server. We came to celebrate a birthday but our table couldn't stop focusing on the waiters poor manors and rude facial expressions. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was hands down the most disrespectful, humiliating and unprofessional service I have ever experienced at any restaurant. From the start, things went downhill. Our waitress seemed visibly irritated that we requested bottled water instead of tap water something any decent restaurant should accommodate without issue. While angrily removing the tap water from the table, she dropped water all over both my mother and my aunt. It didn't stop there. When she came back to pour the bottled water, she was so clearly frustrated, she poured it splashing everything and making a mess. No apology, no napkins, no attempt to fix the situation. I ordered a simple Shirley Temple, and it took nearly two hours to get to the table. Waitress never once checked back on our table to see if we needed anything -- no refills, no updates, nothing. When we finally asked for the check, she threw it on the table like we were bothering her. To make matters worse, we asked to speak with the manager, and instead of taking our concerns seriously, he smiled in my face the entire conversation. It was dismissive, rude, and absolutely unprofessional. I'm not going to make it a race thing but it's not the first being treated like that in there but it will be my last. read more

Great service. They have one of the best tiramisu in Rockland. My favorite entree is the chicken Madeira with spaghetti.

I must say after readIng a review on perhaps a fraudulent credit card that perhaps a waiter might have done . I was shocked to hear based on this one person that posted this review. I personally have been going to Banchetwo's since they opened in the other location ,and have used my card every time with no issues . Eddy the owner takes pride in the fact that he has a loyal and a trustworthy team . The food is delicious and perhaps a tad bit expensive however you get what you pay for . I don't ever pay with a credit car except on rare occasions. This evening was one of those exceptions. I had not used my CC at all in the previous 6 months. Approximately 10 days after our visit, my CC had several fraudulent purchases made in NYC. My bank stopped the charges and refunded the money, but the only person to handle this card was the waiter here at Banchetto. As I said, I don't use this CC. Keep an eye on your charges!! read more

Great food! The ambiance is cozy and inviting.As far as service, I have no complaint. The severs are polite and helpful. I've spoken with the owner a few times. I attended a fundraiser last night; the place is elegant and warm, the atmosphere is friendly and inviting, the staff is courteous and efficient and the food is sumptuous. I don't normally cross the river to Rockland County but I went for this event and it really was wonderful. A small buffet was truly tasteful, particularly a rigatoni in white sauce and fresh poached salmon. We were also served baskets of fresh baked garlic mini-rolls with garden salad. I don't know anything about prices (it has the feel of an upscale menu) since the function was by donation but whatever it is I would venture to say it is well worth it. read more

The evening started smooth. We were seated quickly. We order and then waited and waited and waited . In the hour that we waited for our food the waitress NOT ONCE came by to ask if we needed anything or to apologize or update us in our order. Came here last night in a group of 7. We came at 10:15PM. We ordered relatively quickly because we understood the kitchen was closing soon. Off the bat, we noticed some waiters giving attitude and putting plates on our tables with a bit of force. Whatever. When we get our food, we were eating everything was fine. Food was average, could've gotten the same from any NYC pizzeria. When we ask for split checks, since were a group of 7 different people, we're told the place doesn't split checks. What? What kind of restaurant doesn't split checks lol? Our waiter comes back to tell us that we can split checks if we give a 20% gratuity, and cites that this is what the owner enforces. So now split checks are doable? Lol. At this point, our group is very dissatisfied with the level of confusion for simply to pay. We were obviously going to tip, but enforcing one on us just wasn't right. Later on, the owner comes to us and tells us it's restaurant policy and NYS law that groups of 6 or more are required to pay a 20% gratuity. Never heard of this before. Being a current waiter myself in the Lower East Side, I've had tables of 8 people give 15% tip. At this point he's just lying. Then, he continues to be condescending towards us saying if we don't wanna pay a tip, he can't force us. Making it seem like we just weren't gonna tip at all. We were obviously going to tip, as anyone should when they dine at a restaurant, especially during a global pandemic, but he wasn't willing to understand the principle of letting us know before we dined that there were these policies of "no split checks" and "20% gratuity required if a group of 6 or more." If these are all the restaurant policies, they should let us know that before hand and not just hit us with it in the end. That's all. Service made the experience bad. First rule of hospitality is "the customer is always right." read more

Been here a bunch of times mainly because they make really good food. The decor, furniture and menus themselves need some serious updating and reupholstering but the part that counts most is the food and they get that part right. Big and family friendly and the owner is always around and appears to be friendly with locals. I recommend it over most chain Italian spots. read more
