We rented a van from the Charlotte branch for a group outing. The group decided not to go and so we cancelled. It has been a week and no refund of our $100 deposit. I got on the chat line because no one returned my calls and was told it usually takes 3 to 5 days to process a return...funny it only took them one minute to grab the money in the booking process. Now three days before Thanksgiving they are using the "holiday" as an excuse. Folks it is called using the "float" they are using my money at no interest and my credit card is charging interest. They will not refund the money for more than two weeks according to the "support" folks. Color me PO'd in NC read more

We've rented with Bandago on 3 occasions. No issues for the first two rentals. This time we had a mechanical issue. Bandago's customer service tried to find a Mercedes dealer within a reasonable distance of our location to rectify the situation. We didn't want to take any time away from our already tight vacation schedule and the van was operational. I appreciated their efforts to address the situation quickly. In the end, the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. Even with this small snafoo, I would definitely rent with Bandago for our next trip. read more

Normally, this company would rate at least 4 to 5 stars. That's rating is based on your van being fully operational. We experienced a problem with our AC unit and realized there is no plan B with Bandago. If there are issues and your destination is over 2 or 3 hours away from the rental location, they offer very little assistance. They were not willing to replace the vehicle even though we explained that there were passengers who could not be overheated. We spent 4 hours attempting to find someone capable of serving the vehicle, and our other options were to be with no transportation for 2 days. The whole ordeal has been exhausting, not to mention ruined an otherwise perfectly good trip. I'm so disappointed. This is not a small company but it operates like one. If you want a fail proof Vacation I would suggest you go with a more customer friendly company that can replace your vehicle if there are problems. The customer service reps were very cooperative and pleasant but had no authority to change anything about the situation. read more

I utilized this company for a van rental from 20AUG21-21AUG21. Ben was the sales rep who assisted us. Ben was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He took his time to answer all of the questions I had related to the vehicles and some even unrelated to the vehicle, but pertaining to random objects in their office: a large pile of Xbox consoles. All of their vans have access to Bluetooth and allows you to play PlayStation 4. The vehicle we rented was throughly cleaned during Ben and my inspection of the vehicle. I'm not sure what happened to the review I posted a month ago but here we go again. I rented a Sprinter diesel van from these guys to pick my son up from college. Almost 2 weeks after we returned the van we get a letter from what I assume is their insurance claims company that they found gas in the diesel tank and it was repaired for over $10,000. They claim we were the last to rent it. True but not the last to drive it as there was a 7 mile discrepancy on the odometer from when we returned it to when the repair shop got it. The last time we put fuel in it was 10 minutes from the Bandago office to top it off as required. And the time before that was over 120 miles away. A diesel will not run for that long with gas in the tank. Period!! The person who took the van and parked it after we returned obviously didn't find anything wrong with it. So almost 2 weeks later you find gas in the tank? I do not recommend this company read more

Service was great from the reservationist to the store rep that checked us in. Van was nice, clean, comfortable. ONLY negative was the tv on board. Couldn't hear the audio, couldn't see the picture. We simply just turned it off. Pretty disappointing as it could have made our 6.5 hr drive more enjoyable watching movies, playing games, etc. Will consider booking again for sure. read more

Surprised to see a few reviews that are so negative. I must admit I have used Bandago twice for multi day rentals. Everyone one I encountered was polite and answered any questions that I had without a problem. My most recent rental was October 2016. I plan on using them again in the near future and I also have referred a couple friends to them. It is good to see that at least the CEO is taking time to respond and address his customers issues. It seems he cares at least, that's not always the case. A couple suggestions I would give is to buy the insurance even if you have your own, these trucks are expensive and u don't want a accident inflating your insurance rates. Secondly, would be Pay your own tolls it will prevent any surprises down the line. Lastly, walk the vehicle with the rep no matter it could be damage unknown to them that you end up in the hook for. read more

I dont have personal experience with renting of a van here but I do have personal experience with owner of the bussines . Back in winter after one of major snow storm I was at truck stop across the street of the old Bandago location . Everything under snow , I was trying fuel my semi there . Nozzles frozen so had to turn around my truck and was leaving location different way . There was 2 vans parked od street right on corner . I could not make right turn due these vans and pile of snow on opposite side . 2 gentleman's on driveway so I aproched to them to nicely ask I they can move the cars cus I got stuck in snow . One of them very handsome and attractive guy started yelling at me that am not supposed to be there , no semis etc. The sign no semis is from Mannheim rd not from the truckstop . He was suddenly very angry for no reason and aproch towards sayin " get the fuck out of my property Am doing business here :) I went back to truck and tried to get it out of that pile . Without success I want back to them . The guy face was shining with happiness that I cant do anything . I felt his bad energy as an very sensitive empath . He smiled at me with words are You a bad driver that You cant get out ? At that moment i realized that Am dealling with narcissist a overt one . So i shoot back with question if he didn't get laid yesterday night :) He swallowed air and mumbled what ? Am asking You If You didn't get laid yesterday night ? You should see his face . Well now Am not move my vans for sure .! Yeah like he wanted at first moment . I jumped in my truck and plowed somehow trough the pile . There was only couple of inches between trailer and the van . They were watching very closely . I damaged my lower bumper , cost me 300$. But thats ok for lesson how to next time avoid these narcos. Plenty of them around . Politicians , Ceo.'s , actors , cops . This place has CLEAN vehicles, VERY PROFESSIONAL personnel that explain every detail not only about the contract but about the van and toys that the van came with, Bill took the time to explain and very thorough. DON'T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE , We check other places and prices of course and THIS IS THE PLACE YOU want to rent your van. Worst. Experience. EVER!! I rented the 12 passenger Mercedes Sprinter Grand and paid in full on 10/16 for our trip on 11/6. We had 10 girls that traveled from the Houston area and a family member to drive us. We planned a wine tasting tour in the hill country around Austin, TX and then a night in the city for my daughter's bachelorette weekend. I was scheduled to pick up the van at 10:00am. At 9:53am while on my way to pick up the van, I received a call notifying me that the Austin staff quit early in the morning and they didn't have a way for me to get the van. We later found out that the "Austin staff" was one guy. Our first appointment was at 12:30. the staff was very cold and offered me a full refund (which I still have not received). I had to search the area only to find a Ford Expedition (which I paid $300 for at the literal last minute) that seated 7 and I had to take my own car. We were almost an hour late for our first appt and I was not able to enjoy the wine tastings as we had separate vehicles and 1 driver. We spent extra money that evening for Uber since we were going to clubs and drinking and couldn't drive the other vehicles. I was offered a refund and a sincere apolgy (that makes it all better) but that is all. I have one daughter and won't be able to fix the stress and anxiety that ruined my whole day! I would not recommend this agency to anyone! I posted a review and it was taken down pretty quick. read more

I suggest using ANY other rental place! I rented a van a year ago and had an iPass in the van however they have now charged me $46 in "missed tolls" on three different occasions! $1 toll $20 illinois fee, $25 bandago admin fee! Not a single phone call! Only an e-mail that ends up in SPAM!!! I only find out when I see a random $46 charge to my account! Again this most recent charge is almost a full year after our trip!!! Renter Beware....On 10/26/16 our Bible Study group rented a van to go to Lorain Ohio for a Domestic Mission trip. It was a downpour the day we picked up the Van to begin our trip so the representative from Bandago and our Group Leader did not walk around the van to carefully inspect the vehicle. The representative from Bandago assured our leader that there was no damage to the van and had pictures of the van that were taken on a dry sunny day after the last rental, naturally we took him at his word. After a wonderful 5 day mission trip rebuilding and restoring homes for people in need in the Lorain area we returned the van...AFTER HOURS...to Bandago. This was probably our biggest mistake as several days later our group leader received a letter from Bandago telling him that he owed them $1,087.62 because of damages to Van. At that point in time we had no recourse as we did not know what happened to that van in the Bandago parking area after hours, (which is completely disorganized and probably where the damage occurred). It is truly a shame that after 5 days of serving a community in need we had to come back to the Chicago land area to be taken advantage of by this company. read more

This place is amazing! I needed a large van for a bachelor party road trip to Wisconsin, then for use throughout the weekend for our Chicago wedding. The Mercedes Sprinter 12 passenger van was perfect: TV, XBox, Wi-Fi, tons of passenger and cargo space. It even got great gas mileage (17 mpg), and was easy to drive (good handling and acceleration for such a large vehicle). It even has forward and backward sensors to make parking a breeze! Everyone who rode in the van was blown away, and it made everything so much easier. The staff were funny and very accommodating -- I was caught in a downpour, which zapped the keyless entry, and they basically said "no big deal, we'll fix it." If you need to shuttle out-of-town guests around the city and burbs, this place can't be beat. The prices are super affordable, and I'm sure to do business with them again. read more

The Mercedes van was perfectly appointed with comfortable leather seats, a ton of USB and power connections, a TV with games and DVD player, and awesome A/C. This was a great find. Instead of a camper, we rented a sprinter van. Took fishing trip to Canada. 18 hrs! 6 of us had plenty of room. Took out a row of chairs and was able to lay down. Having a TV was great. Oh ya, WiFi inside. I am 6'1 and could stand up. Drives like a regular van and sits high up on the road. Great gas milage. Then there is the back or trunk area. Trying to scam me on damages!! The vehicle was fine and was what we needed for our trip. Price was fair. My issues came after returning vehicle. We took the vehicle on a road trip and on the way back something in the road scrapped the underside of the car. This did cause a small hole in the fuel tank which needed to be repaired. This could have been an easy patch job but Bandago decided to replace several parts that weren't even caused by our incident. This was submitted to my insurance which was covered and agreed to pay the damage. I am now being hounded by this company to pay an additional $1,900 after my insurance covered the damage. My insurance company says these are not valid charges and I shouldn't pay but am getting threatened by Bandago they will take action if I don't pay. Do not rent for this company. They will rip you off after you return your vehicle a squeeze as much money out of you then can. Very unethical company. read more

Just rented one of the 10 seaters for a bachelor party trip. Pricing is very reasonable and definitely better than buying flights and then renting cars on top of the flight. We had 6 guys but could have had 8 seated comfortably. Would definitely recommend to anyone taking a road trip with a big group. read more

Really glad I found this service. I was fairly last minute in making these arrangements and the folks on the line were very helpful, they made it very easy. We were able to rent exactly what we needed, easy pickup and drop off and all registration, rental, payments etc done online. The van was like new, had all the accouterments we needed ( AUX Cord for personal music) would be fun to use for a longer road trip, we used the 15 person sprinter to transport our daughters birthday party from point A to B and back again. We visited Bandago on 7/30/16 upon arriving we were treated like we were intruding on these guys privacy. They were sitting at their desks with their arms folded doing nothing. I felt a prejudice that I haven't felt in a long time, I'm convinced that if we were of the same ethnic persuasion as they were we would not have been treated thusly. They were rude and showed no customer consideration. We were told that they could not tell us anything, that if we had questions we needed to go online for the answers. We were told that we had to make an appointment to come and look at the vehicles, we asked if it said that online and the response was that he didn't know (we did not see anything online that said such or we would have made one). As we were exiting I noticed a picture of a rock star with the caption "NO WALK-INS ALLOWED" or something to that effect, which I thought was very mean spirited and not so customer friendly. Needless to say we were very upset with this treatment after coming all the way there from the south side of Chicago. That evening I called the main office and spoke to a very nice young lady who said that his behavior was totally unacceptable and that she would pass it on to someone in charge. She took my name and number and said I could email in my complaint. I felt no need to since I had spoken to her, she had my name and number and she said she would contact the person in charge. One week later after not hearing from anyone I called again. This time I got a male (who said he was the weekend manager) after going around and around with him to no avail, when I asked to speak to someone else. What he did was stick up for this rude behavior, making excuses for them, telling me these guys are good and nothing like this has ever happened before. Then I mentioned a Yelp to the contrary and he said he knew nothing of it. My concern is that this company has heard of this type treatment from these guys toward other customers and continue to make excuses for them instead of correcting the behavior. My band rented a 15 passenger van from Bandago for an East/Midwest tour of 11 days. In total we drove ~3000 miles in various weather conditions (Feb 28th - March 10th, so not always ideal). The overall experience was amazing. They really do have everything figured out and set up for you so there are ZERO hassles. Everyone I dealt with was great, they even called to check up on the van about halfway through the trip, just to make sure everything was going alright. The van itself was super nice and really comfortable. Gas mileage was exactly as expected, if not better. IPod hookup, TV with a Playstation 2, tons of space - couldn't ask for anything more. Considering what you get, the price is extremely affordable and well worth it! We will definitely be using Bandago for all future van rentals. read more

I have never experienced such terrible customer service for as long as I have been renting from any rental company. I highly reccomned that you do not go to Bandago location in Mel Rose park because of the lack of very rude and poor customer service. We rented a 15 seater Ford Transit from them and although the truck was fine the customer service was very rude and unprofessional. The location manager their Pat Gardell was very rude and gave me attitude throughout the time that I was there. I was very surprised when I pulled up to return the truck and had to park on the street since the cones were blocking the drive way and the location manager Pat came out and said "it's not that hard to park on the drive way". When I asked how am I supposed to park on the drive way he said "shut up and give me the keys as he was getting into the truck when I was returning. I called the corporate office and now we are dealing with an issue. I highly reccomned that you do not go to this location. read more
