This place is legit. It is old school bowling at its best. There are lots of lanes and music piped through the building, too. I immediately was in a great mood as soon as I put on my shoes and saw the pins drop. If you get the munchies, be sure to visit the snack bar. I enjoyed something I haven't eaten in quite a long time, a chili cheese, dog and fries. The fries here are not the standard, but more like sliced potatoes. And, they are absolutely delicious. This place is a no frills establishment that is definitely fun for the entire family, good for a birthday party, and great for team building outings. Not to mention how dirty the lanes were, scraping up my bowling balls. We have bowled there a few times. The staff is friendly. One of the guys that work the snack bar knows what we want to drink and when he sees us he gets it ready for us. Yeah, some of the lanes, ball returns, and the thing where you put your names in, need to be replaced or updated but it's a great place to bowl. read more

Did not buy food. We were a large party and most did not know what they were doing do took a long time. Several of us decided not to bowl a second game for which we had already paid. Instead of getting our money back we were given vouchers good until 5/30/24 fifteen days. Will never come back due to very poor customer service and receiving a voucher rather a refund. Really hit and miss with this bowling center. We first started going when Covid started and we loved going - the workers, the atmosphere, the fellow regular bowlers made it really fun. We met another couple there and joined a bowling league with them. Bo and Matt in the shop are super friendly and helpful, and got us the right bowling ball and shoes. I had a lesson with Bo and it completely changed my bowling game! A few of the workers - AJ, Elijah, Chris, Bob, Zeb, and Raul were always so friendly. They would always greet us by name and ask us how we had been bowling lately. Most of them have left and the new staff is not nearly as friendly or personable. The longer we we bowled there, the more uncertain we have become. Bob always did a great job making our food. They've started charging $1 for water refills which isn't expensive, but .. it's water.. We've ordered burgers twice - once the meat was cold and the other time the fries weren't fully cooked. The lanes are rarely oiled properly, which isn't noticeable unless you bowl regularly and understand how oil works. The staff will walk down the middle of the lane (again, doesn't seem like a big deal unless you're a true bowler) The wait to get a lane is insanely long during the weekends and their open bowling hours have dropped due to leagues. Overall, yes, this is probably going to be one of the cheapest bowling centers you're going to find around San Antonio. Is it worth it in my opinion? -- NO! I reached out to the Bandera Bowling Center via Facebook and chatted online with an employee in regards to booking two lanes for my son's informal birthday gathering. They re-assured me that the date/time I had chosen would be no problem to book two lanes however I would have to wait 24 HOURS before the day in order to book. I called Bandera Bowl literally 24 hours in advance the day we wanted to book two lanes. I spoke with Jennifer, she stated that they wouldn't be able to accept a prepaid reservation for two lanes because they require 48 HOURS notification. Even after explaining that I had already been talking with someone at the establishment via Facebook a few days prior, she still refused to accept a prepaid reservation. She said it wouldn't be busy and there would be no problems the next day with me coming in and booking two lanes. I showed up with my family just last Friday and thankfully we were able to secure two lanes. (However if we had waited an additional 30 minutes, we would've had to wait for lanes!) The guy running the front counter was pretty nice and friendly. Booking was a breeze and he got us our shoes quickly. This is when problems started occurring on both of our lanes. During the course of 1 hour, we kept having problems after problems after problems. The guy at the front counter was helpful and fixed them for us but it was very irritating for the bumpers to keep falling off, balls not to be returned to us, computer machines not functioning/working, etc. It made the experience bowling with my kids very disappointing as I kept having to run back and forth due to constant issues with our lanes (lane# 47 and 48). Also, I ordered food as soon as I arrived from the cafe inside at 1:00PM. The poor guy running the cafe was extremely overwhelmed. Literally I walked up asking how he was and he didn't even respond to me. Then the food took about 45 minutes to be made, so by the time our hour of bowling was over, our food had just come out. In addition, when I went back to the cafe to pick up our food, I stood there for a good 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the only guy who was extremely overwhelmed working alone in the cafe. Overall yes it is a cheap which is what I was looking for. However, after dealing with the incompetent staff who are not on the same page whatsoever, the crappy lanes, and the extremely long wait for food... I would definitely not return to this place. I can think of so many other places that you pay a little bit more and you'll have such a better experience. Also, the BAR was closed! Disappointing! read more

This is a reasonably priced bowling alley located on Bandera Road with many lanes, a restaurant, and an enclosed bar by the front doors. It feels like an 80s bowling alley. My main complaint is the cleanliness and dilapidated equipment. The chairs have seen better days, and the pinsetter frequently messed up. We were feeling restless and ready to do something social. My husband, friends and I came across this place. The reviews were all over the place but we decided to give it a try. They had a bowling special from 4-6 where the shoe rental and a game was 2 dollars each. We bought two games and shoe rental for 4 people. The place was a little empty when we arrived. We did asked to be moved a little further from the crowd. The experience was good. I haven't bowled in awhile and my score showed it. Lol We ate pizza, fried pickles and had a couple of pitchers (dos x) to drink. The staff is friendly. The only thing I would comment on is the shoes. They really need to replace some of them, mines looked that they had some secrets to tell- torn up with holes. The place is clean and there is a good amount of food, drinks, and entertainment. I tried the claw machine and walked away with two stuffed toys. Would recommend just be mindful that it does get packed quickly and social distancing goes straight out the window. read more

They have hourly rates as well as rates per person per game played- figure out which is more cost effective for you. Shoes could probably use replacing as they are quite worn out. Bowling balls are just like every other bowling alley i have ever been to - not the best in the world and well worn. They have a bar and also a food counter for typical fried food and bowling alley burgers - YUM! You have to admit you crave this from time to time! The alley is smoke free EXCEPT for the bar and you can def smell it when you walk in the front doors of the alley. But this shouldn't affect your overall visit. If the location is convenient to you and you don't want to fight the crowds and wait for a lane, this is the place for you. I will return for sure. read more

Bandera Bowling Center located in San Antonio is a great spot to do some bowling! The lanes are a little older, but the convenience and number of lanes helps to look pass that. The workers are friendly and helpful with great service. I forgot to buy socks and they have a vending machine which saved my feet from the rental shoes (: As for food the pizza was delicious, although a bit on the oily side! Terrible experience, My daughter and I went today 9/26/23 to have some fun bowling. This was our first time here and as we were getting ready to play, I asked the attendant if she could put up the bumpers. She came back and before she put them up, informed me the woman at the front desk was making comments about my child being special needs. What on earth does needing to use bumpers, have to do with being special needs? It was completely inappropriate, and we were horrified at what we were hearing. I spoke to her and the manager separately, who both talked in circles, talking about teenagers abusing the bumpers, which had no correlation to us or special needs individuals. We were both so embarrassed, that we left not even completing our first game, even though we paid for 6. I will never return to this establishment. Do better read more

Let us begin our adventure of buIIsht: Reserve your lanes 3 weeks in advance with a deposit only to have them CON you with higher prices. Then you'll get told to call 48 hours before the event but no one will help you. Then you'll get told to call the day before the event. The lady will tell you she was supposed to call you but she didn't. Then she'll SLITHER you further by telling you the party room wasn't going to be available because their level of LAZINESS and DISORGANIZATION is far too great. Then they assign you a real champion named ZEKE that gives you tables that are on the opposite side of your assigned broken lanes that don't even return the bowling balls. You'll even have to teach ZEKE how to refill drinks by going back and forth to get it done for him. The worst part is he won't even tip you for doing his job. It'll take an ETERNITY for the pizza to arrive which will be worse than a LUNCHABLES pizza. Oh yeah, they'll also tell you no outside food. Yet everyone there will have outside food. I guess that rule only applies to you. You'll lose at least 1 hour trying to get everything organized. So they basically RIP YOU OFF with the 2 hour time slot. When you ask for some sort of compensation, they'll practically tell you to SCREW-OFF. OVERALL THIS WAS A SHT SHOW. We asked for bumper lanes just to find out that only certain lanes have bumper capability. One of the workers told us that she would move us to another lane with bumpers but she never came back. We just decided to let the kids play without bumpers. 2 hours later we just asked what happened with getting us moved to another lane with bumpers... We were told, it was our responsibility to ensure we got the lane changed. What great customer service. I brought my kids here for some summer bowling. I found this place on the kidsbowlfree web site. Kidsbowlfree.com gives each kid 2 free games a day through the whole summer. Which thought was cool, and worth the try. My older son likes bowling, and I don't have anything to do on Tuesday afternoon. My first impression about the place was that it was a little run down; I have seen better. I gave the clerk my kidsbowlfree coupons, and another one I downloaded from there website. In total we got: 6 games of bowling 2 each 4 hot dogs 2 sodas 2 shoe rentals all for $14. What a deal I thought, you can't beat that for bowling. Lane 33-34 messed up two of my wife's bowling balls. Both balls were taken to the front desk then to the pro shop. Balls were bad enough to be replaced. Pro shop told me to speak the manager. Talk to the manager. He tells me I need to speak to the GM. Just poor service by the front desk and manager. Act like they could care less and now my wife is out 2 bowling balls.
