This is one of my family's favorite places to eat at and it's hard to get everyone to agree lol It's a cozy and friendly atmosphere operated by a great family and we've been coming here for years. The spicy Chipotle pork chops are my favorite and the Medina salad is excellent! Lots of great Mexican dishes as well. Definitely worth a shot in a great environment with good food! read more

Horrible! Do not come here if ur expecting anything more than mexican food! I came here and ordered a full pound of shrimp for $21 and it was frozen and the owner continuously told me that the food was "fresh" which i knew was a lie considering I had flakes of ice in my shrimp. The potatoes were close to raw. The owner made me pay for a meal that I ate less than half of (what I could that wasn't frozen), I expressed to him that it was frozen, and he denied and chased me out of the parking lot after I paid for what I received. If I could give them zero stars I would. Worst service I have ever had. Waiter couldn't keep anything straight waited over 30 minutes for a margarita and finally when we asked about it was told the machine was broken. Multiple other things went wrong. Just terrible overall. read more

The place looks closed and it really should be. I returned the food because it wasn't a pound of shrimp nor a pound of crab legs. I didn't touch one bit of it. The boiled corn was dark dirty brown. Shrimp looked cold and hard. Nothing looked fresh at all and the portions were wrong. I eat shrimp nearly weekly to know how much is a pound. The manager came out looking greasy, dirty and unkempt. He challenged me and tried to compare the size and quantity to another local establishment I've dined. The funny part was he told me if I come back I wouldn't be able to return food and have to pay. To which I told him don't worry because I have no plans to ever return. I don't go anywhere to waste food.... ever! Not even AYCE places. And the water tasted like it was mixed with the Sprite machine. Dirty little place that needs to go out of business for good with dirty attitude management. Ordered two meals to go one with dbl fries and got dbl rice then we asked for it to be corrected and got double rice again finally I got a single side order of fries.. requested a refund because no food had been touched. They refused so called Mr. German and he told me to basically f*** off. Do not give them a try unless you wanna call the cc company to get a refund. read more

My Dad and I came to Bandera Grill to grab lunch before a SHSU baseball game. The staff was very friendly. We both had the Chicken Fried Steak which was REALLY good. The mash potatoes were pretty good too. The macaroni and cheese I had was a bit watery unfortunately. We didn't have any desert but the pies that were on display looked really good. I placed a to go order: the grilled tilapia entree, which came with two sides and a dinner roll. I chose cole slaw and fries as my sides, and I also ordered a garden salad. The best thing I can say about my meal is that it was all edible. Unfortunately, everything was also thoroughly unremarkable and unmemorable. The tilapia was a bit soggy and not very flavorful. The way it was placed by itself in a separate container was, in fact, a little depressing. When I saw it lying there, I got the feeling that this was a restaurant run by people who have basically given up and are just going through the motions. The salad was basic and boring, with store bought croutons. The dinner roll...also store bought and basic. The cole slaw was forgettable and probably bought pre-prepared (I worked in restaurants when I was younger, so I saw a lot of large containers of pre-packaged cole slaw). I guess the fries were the best part of the meal, and even they weren't all that great. They were just typical french fries, but they were fine. Restaurants like this confuse me. I can't understand why people run their business with so little interest in what they're doing, and I can't understand why people frequent them. Ten or twelve years ago in Huntsville, there were few decent dining options. But the city has grown, there are a lot of way better places to eat at, and I wonder if such mediocrity is going to fly for much longer. read more

I went to eat here after hearing they had the best "crawfish in town" on the radio. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR ON THE RADIO. This was the worst crawfish I've ever had. The crawfish looked dirty and was way over cooked. It tails would tear and split when I would take them out. It was mushy and bland. Eaten here several times and food always good. Today had fish and shrimp first time, delish! Hubby likes their chicken fried steak that has won Best Of in the local paper several years in a row. Their prices are very reasonable and our waiter Brendan gave great service. read more

Today was my first visit, called in a to go order. I order a cheeseburger basket......upon arrival order was not ready so I waited a good 15 minutes no biggie. Server was scratching her hair as she checked me out before bringing my food..... that was the first ewwww! While I'm waiting for my order to be ready I decided to use the bathroom.... big no no!!!! It smelled so awful I couldn't even stand to use the bathroom. Second ewwwww!!! Open my burger basket and the lettuce is old and limp..... fries are soggy and disgusting. Beef patty was good. My wife and I had lunch here today. They have specials everyday. My wife had the 7 oz. Ribeye, I had the fish and jumbo shrimp. Both were great and plenty filling. If you haven't been there in a while I ask you to try it again. We will be back soon. read more

I ordered steak and it was well cooked but had absolutely No flavor to it, no seasoning at all. I got the mac and cheese, it was watery and obviously came from a box. The fried okra had a decent batter. My husband got the chicken fried steak and said it was bland and "average". We won't be going back at all. The service was good however. read more

I wish i could give this place 0 stars. Horrible. We went today for their "best in town" crawfish and the crawfish was mushy and either way overcooked or they had already been dead. Super hard to take out without it either falling apart or not coming out at all. The corn that came along with the crawfish was gummy and did not at all taste good or like real corn. And as a side piece when you walk in you're slapped in the face with a horrible stench. I do not recommend this place. read more

Heck yeah, the best food we had on an otherwise culinary failure. Travelling from Dallas to Galveston obviously precipitates getting food on the road, and my lady and I try to stay away from the chains. This comes with a substantial amount of risk, and more than once we have gotten up and walked out of restaurants because the atmosphere/smell/service just warranted it. Not so here. We both had the chicken fried steak ($8.95) and it was done just right, not greasy and deliciously creamy country gravy. The food came out fast and the waiter was very curtious. Not our cup of tea sorry.Not the best place in Huntsville and quiet honestly not worth what we spent. Chicken was a bit burnt, you have to pay for chips and salsa which many other restaurants just give. Good at what they do, but the crowds compromise the quality and service at times, especially at lunch. Chicken fried steak is the mainstay. Their carrots and green bean sides are excellent! It is sometimes hard to find good vegetables to go with an entree, and they're good here. read more

I had the Bandera burger for $6.95 and the Carne Asada for $13.95. They were both really good, but the carne asada was a bit pricey. The restaurant is small but it's really country. I recommend this place. read more

Went here on a recent trip to Huntsville. We actually reservations elsewhere, but decided to go cheaper. Glad we did. The service was excellent (thanks to Kiara). We wanted to order to go today but there is no menu available online. I went over there and sent pics of the menu back via text so they could decide what they wanted. The only thing on the express lunch menu was fried chicken with 3 sides so not much choice there. Then I had to wait 15 minutes while it took 3 waitresses at one register to check people out when 2 of those waitresses weren't actually needed to do that. When they finally got done with that, I had to ask if I could place my order. About 20 minutes later I finally got my order. The service was not good. read more

I was leery of going do to reviews but had ceasar salad fresh and cold but ask for dressing on side it was a bit to much dressing for my liking... They claim to have the best chicken fried steak in town, but my hubby, who loves a good chicken fried steak has tried it twice here now and said it's nothing special and tough. I thought my food was just ok. The service was terrible though. Seemed there was nothing but a bunch of young kids running the place, horse playing right next to the customers tables. And I personally hate going to take a bite off a plate and a waiter's arm flies right over your plate in front of your face to grab something or refill your drink... happened twice last visit... Each time we've been, the menu has several pies and cakes listed, but there is only ever 2-3 pies available. Probably will not be returning unless they get some more professional staff. read more

Horrible. I must say we used to love this place and recommend it to others BUT today we decided that we won't be coming back. My plate of food was delivered to me COMPLETELY COLD. I admit that I ate some of it but only because I was starving. Our food was taken from the buffet instead of cooked fresh like we ordered it.
