We woke up on Sunday Mother's Day to find our 12 yr old chiweenie possibly not going to making it. I called frantically at 8:30am and the man answering was kind and helpful. He got us in at 11:30! We showed up an hour early because we didn't think she was gonna make it..they immediately Put Us in a room for privacy. They took our little one directly to the doctor to do a quick evaluation. In the end she came home with us to live out her remaining time. The dr was so nice and helpful, she spent so much time explaining things and making sure we understood everything!! Mia was back to herself by evening and is doing well on the medication prescribed! I highly recommend this vet and the staff! Great people who are great at their job **Mia has since passed away having to be put down at Banfield. The process was incredibly painful and heartbreaking. This Clinic was wonderful and I can't say enough kind words about the veterinarians they staff. They are kind, caring and wonderful. read more

I took off work to travel from Aurora to Brighton. Banfield just sucks all around, I have a sick dog and can't get an appointment 30 miles away from my house. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE WELLNESS PLAN. I consider my dogs my babies, They are one of the most important things to me and my family. This place I was VERY HAPPY WITH! They were very nice and friendly with our first visit. They seem very interested and concerned with any worry you may have with your pets. The front desk was very welcoming, and helpful with any questions. They were clean and so nice and gentle with our babies. We've been going there a year now and I don't think I'll trust anyone else with our fur babies! They also have great insurance's plans to fit any of your needs with your pets, which I consider very helpful since some things and health issues can happen when your not expecting it and can be expensive. So this has came in handy. They seem to want to do anything to help. I highly recommend them! read more

What a scam! MAKE SURE YOU ACTUALLY GET WHAT YOUR PAYING FOR! After this event, I'm starting to believe this office don't administer vaccinations in the back like we are led to believe. I took my 14 week old puppies in for their second round of parvo shots, this occasion, I requested to be present with them while they administered the shots. The vet technician said she would would check with the doctor to see if it's fine, and the doctor said due to covid they can have me watch from the door window instead, as they administer the parvo shots. Which was perfectly fine with me. The puppies go back into the room, as I'm waiting with them looking through the glass door, a different technician comes out and tells me " sooo were afraid were going to have to bring the puppies to the back to administer the shots, as the doctor doesn't feel comfortable with anyone hovering over her as their administer their shots". I said I am outside a door of an office room that's closed looking through a window, I don't see how that is considered hovering??? I'm thinking to myself, first excuse was health related and now a second excuse of not feeling comfortable? Give me a break! The technician started to argue with me, trying to convince me theyll get them without me watching, and then asked me why it's such a big deal if I had to see them getting their shots? This same office had previously gave parvo shots to my mothers family dog and it of course caught parvo, and died. This same office also gave me a false diagnosis on my last dog Roxy, saying she had arthritis when she really had cancer, and she also died. So yes! Gee surprise! I went to write a bad review and they already have a 1.5 star rating. I went in last night to get an e-collar and some bandage material for my dog, she just had her dewclaw removed. (she hurt it digging in the rocks). I could not find the things I needed in Petsmart so I asked the Banfield associate and she was very rude. She told me that I would have to find a Petsmart associate. Petsmart didn't have any bandage supplies so I went back to Banfield and asked her if there was any way they could sell me some or give me enough for one dressing. She again was rude and said no we cannot give out medical supplies. Oh well I guess I wont be going back there again ever. read more

I am reviewing Banfield again, as my last review has changed. Yesterday we went in to Brighton Banfield, we had an appointment scheduled (mid-afternoon) for a small case of vomitting. Then, things took a turn for the worse when we discovered he had a large rock in his tummy. He immediately was taken back for emergency surgery, I was so scared. Dr. Decker is an amazing woman and you can see her passion for the animals. I haven't worked with other vets yet. The vet assistants are always really nice to us and my puppy. He is a nervous pee-er and also has anal gland issues ... and he made a huge, HUGE mess while they were taking x-rays. I apologized so much, and I know they weren't happy (cause who would be, come on), but they NEVER ONCE said anything negative and were very sympathetic. On top of reviewing Dr. Decker specifically, I will also review the Front desk assistant (I don't remember their title) who we adore, Kara. She is always so helpful and loves animals, my puppy gets excited to see her and we always make a point to go there whenever she is there (we purchase things at Petsmart and he takes puppy training classes there as well). With everything that happened, I am glad we started with them as our vets, despite a few bad reviews. People will rarely write a GOOD review, everyone just gets pissed off and goes straight to the internet to voice their opinion. We absolutely love it here, and more importantly our puppy does to. We feel valued and not just a number or wallet to them. Thank you guys! read more

I have been taking my 16 year old dog here for 10 years. I originally started taking her here when we moved out here and was on the health plan that included the teeth cleaning which seemed like a good deal. My dog was always relatively healthy and besides the usual vaccines and teeth cleanings, she didn't need much. As she got older and we started dealing with more health issues, it was apparent that Banfield was a poor choice. They can't keep a doctor on staff here. Every time you go, you are asked the same questions over and over by a new vet. They were clueless about an allergy issue my dog had and I ended up having to take her to CSU. They didn't update their system so I also had issues getting her groomed as they said she wasn't up to date on her vaccines even though she was. I have gone in to Banfield on several occasions as she has gotten older with urgent issues and they have ALWAYS told me they are too busy to see my dog who has been a patient here for over 10 years. They always refer me to an emergency vet in the westminster area which is very pricey. I have even tried calling around to all the other Banfield's only to be blown off by them too. Today I called to see if I could get an appointment for tomorrow and the person that answered the phone very rudely said no they are all booked up. So I asked when the next available appointment was. She then asked me what I was making an appointment for. Not sure why she didn't ask me the first time, she clearly didn't care and just wanted to get me off the phone. She acted irritated and put me on hold. She then came back to the call and told me she talked to the vet and miraculously they could get me in tomorrow. All I know is when my contract is up I will not be bringing my dog here anymore. I will also tell everyone I know to find a better vet. It may cost a bit more to have teeth cleanings, but having a vet that doesn't turn over every 6 months, that cares for their patients and isn't just a pushy corporate factory looking to get as many in and out as possible will be worth it. read more

At first when we arrived thought that the place was wonderful but we ended up staying there for three and a half hours and had to listen to a stupid desk clerk who didnt know what the hell she's talking about snd alway has to go back and ask everything because she knows nothing. Usually we've had good experiences at this Banfield, but I'm not sure what's going on with them lately. Our pup would always come back to us enthusiastic and as happy as can be but lately, when we pick her up, she definitely does not act like her normal self. Now, we had to drop her off because she wouldn't stop vomiting and they've only called us one time within 7 hours to see if they could run another test on her. Really? You can't call with updates? I called around 12:00 and they said the doctor was out at lunch and the test results should be in when he returns and they will call to let us know what they found, if anything...2 hours later and still no phone call. My husband called and the receptionist said that the doctor is in surgery and the tech is out at lunch....so I guess the hell with the dogs and they have to wait? This is completely unacceptable treatment to dogs....especially ones who go in with something wrong. This place has seriously gone down hill. read more

We took our 2 dogs here to update their rabies and DAPP vaccines. We also ended up getting a leptospirosis vaccine. Fast forward six months; as we plan on going on vacation, we made a reservation at a kennel. As part of the kenneling process, they ask for vaccination records. When the kennel requested the vaccination information, Banfield said they had no records of our dogs being vaccinated. When I went in to the store to ask for their vaccination records, they said that the DAPP vaccine had expired because we did not bring our adult dogs in for a booster. These are adult dogs (4 and 10 years old) who have gotten yearly DAPP and rabies vaccines since they were puppies. Since they needed to be vaccinated for bordatella anyway, we brought them to a competent local vet. They told us that the new guidance from the American Vetrinary Medicine Association was that the DAPP vaccines are good for 3 years instead of just 1, and that they should be fine. After bringing in our receipt to the kennel, they agreed and accepted our dogs. Alone, this would only warrant a rating of three, maybe two stars. However, after we had gotten back from vacation, we brought our older dog in because he was falling down and obviously in pain. He could not stand up on his own and was having accidents in the house. Banfield REFUSED to see him because they were "kinda slammed right now." What is the point of having a regular vet when you can't bring them in (during their office hours) for an emergency. Long story short, 3 x-ray films, blood work and 2 weeks worth of pain/anti-inflamatory/muscle relaxant medication cost LESS at an emergency pet hospital than their original rabies and DAPP vaccines, and they saw him within 5 minutes of our arrival rather than having to wait "in case someone no-shows." We will not be returning to Banfield or PetSmart. I found out I can get their food at a feed supply store that is closer and cheaper than PetSmart. read more

My rottie Daisy has been going to the Broomfield Banfield for a couple of years now. I have been super happy with the service they've provided. It's the first place that Daisy started feeling more comfortable and now we can go and she doesn't exhibit any nervousness (which is really nice since she tends to throw up when she's nervous). She'd had a really nasty cold/sneeze thing for some time and the doctor worked with us to figure it out - even going as far to call another doctor outside of Banfield to check the price of a surgery. In the end, she suggested we try a steroid and it worked brilliantly. She gave us tips for avoiding the sickness in the future and we haven't had any issues since. I can't speak to the other reviews but we've had a very positive and pleasant experience. After visiting a few other vets in the area, we are grateful for the vets and vet techs at Banfield. read more

I'm not sure they even did one thing right! So I just bought a new 8 week old puppy and I wanted to get him checked out to make sure he is healthy (like a normal pet parent) well maybe not too normal cause the nurse acted like I had no reason to be there unless it was to only get shots and if I didn't get him shots then he didn't need anything else according to her. I kept telling her he had just gotten the exact shot he needed and even had all the paperwork on it, even the labels from the bottles. And all she kept telling me is "but it's included in the plan for him to get it today" 20 minutes long is how long this conversation was about how its included but I don't want my puppy to die or have life long problems just cause "it's included". So when she finally couldn't push me into killing my dog then she starts saying he needs the deworming, which he just had 8 days before, I felt like that was too soon, but I'm no doctor, so I kept asking her but she never once gave me the answer and just kept asking me why I was here if I'm not getting anything done. I kept telling her the only one thing I didn't want was the shot he had gotten 2 days before and I don't know why they couldn't even check him to make sure everything was and was going to be fine. I think she kept tuning that cause she kept going on about how I want nothing done to him. Then she brought up another shot she could give him (which I wasn't going to give him anyways) luckily I said no cause when the doc finally came in (after having to wait 30 min after having to deal with the "plant" nurse, I call her that cause thats the only kind she could be cause she knew nothing about shots in humans on animals. She said they never give that other shot to any puppy under 6 months, and he dosen't need the other shot cause yes he did get it 2 days before and it is too soon to deworm again. I don't know if I was on some weird TV show about how much they can push you into mistreating your animals or what but they nurse was out of this world! So really I paid $90 for them to weigh him and check his temp. Not one other thing at all, no checking his hips or joints which should be priority with great danes, no one checked his teeth, I'm assuming they would normally do that. Oh wait she did look in his ear once, but even that was something I could do and tell they were healthy. After having such a horrible conversation with the first "plant lady" I was so overwelhmed with everything I couldn't even think about what they actually needed to do (you would think they would know what to do themselves) but not this place, the computer is their god, if it says do it they will, if it doesn't specificly say than they wont even attempt to do it. Where did they hire these people? How to I know more and I've never been in any medical field? They didn't even to a fecal test (which is not a shot) just cause I wanted no shots, just cause I didn't want to kill my puppy. The one thing bad about the dr, besides having the worst background check on peoples actual experiance, and letting things get so out of hand that the dog doesn't even get checked is she knows nothing about what different breeds require. They should at least have a little knowledge about different breeds of dogs instead of just putting all dogs in one catagory. Great dane puppies can NOT have puppy food, even large breed puppy food they amount of fat and protien will cause them to grow too fast for their bones and then they have even more life long problems (along with the too many shots killers are trying to put in their bodies). When I told her the facts about the protiens and fats, she looked at me shocked "but he needs fats and protiens" well duhhh but not too much. She needs to do her reserch and the nurse needs to get fired for being a animal hater and trying to kill them. DO NOT GO! They are just for look and for people that don't truly caring about their animals or assume that the vets went to actuall school and should know more than the general public. If you do have to take your animal their make sure you know what is healthy for your family member and don't just let them push you over and cause you years of pain or years of medical treatment to fix what they have done. read more

If only I could give negative stars. I am so angry I am fuming. I have been taking my dog to this "vet" ( I use the term very loosely) for several years and paying the ridiculous "insurance" costs faithfully every month. My dog never gets sick, but has, for several years, been on a prescription drug (which she will be on for the rest of her life), which, if I buy through them is about 4 times more expensive. So last year, I began to order it through an online pharmacy and the first few times, I obtained a prescription which I faxed to them. Good. Worked great. Several months ago I took my dog in for her yearly shots, etc. which they always force me to drop her off for all day even though this traumatizes her every time (I think this is so we can't see what they are actually doing to her). A couple of days previously, I ordered her drug online, only this time I had them fax in the prescription request knowing I would be there and make sure they faxed it back. I spoke to the gal who took her in for her visit and told her the fax should be there. I told her I needed the drug and to make sure they did whatever they needed to do to get the prescription refilled. So I pick up my dog and take her home, but the drug never arrives. Then I get an email from the online pharmacy saying they never got the fax from Banfield. I call them and they tell me that Banfield ALWAYS ignores their requests because they want to extort more money from me. I call Banfield and what does that SAME person tell me? Oh, we never got it, she says. So I call the online people and tell them to re-fax. They do. Again another week goes by and now I am down to a couple of pills. I call them back and they tell me no answer from Banfield. So now I am REALLY angry and call Banfield and they have the audacity to tell me that the doctor will not refill the prescription without a visit to the vet. I am barely able to breathe when I tell them they JUST SAW her and had her for an ENTIRE DAY and I told them to do what they needed to do. She says she will have the vet call me. He doesn't. My husband calls them and they say the vet will call him. He doesn't. This goes on until there is no more pills left. I call them and tell them I will be by to get the pills from them even though I am furious. She calls me and tells me THEY ARE OUT!! Then she refers me to another Banfield who agrees to fill the rx. I drive 40 minutes to get there and they give me the pills with the bottle showing 3 refills. So, I have a week left and GUESS WHAT? They did the same exact thing and ignored the request. DO NOT TAKE ANY PET TO ANY BANFIELD. JUST DON'T. read more

Ugh it's making me give them a star. But please believe they DO NOT deserve this 1 star!!! This is the worst place to take your furry friends! I took my pup here last year because she was losing hair and had sores on top of her head and eyes, the doctor said she didn't know what it was and they could try some pills and take samples, which ended up being expensive for a doctor who had no damn clue what she was doing. She came back after the test and said "well it wasn't that, we can do other tests" finally I said "No, I will go some where else" she then promised me a free visit for next time I wanted to come in. So today I figured I would try them out again since it had been almost a year just maybe they had a good doc in. So I called and spoke with receptionist, what a joke that was!! She couldn't pull me up by either telephone number and couldn't get my last name right! FINALLY she has the file. she says "there is no where in here offering you a free visit, let me talk to a doctor" 4 mins later she comes back and says "Nope, I'll have to talk to the office manager tomorrow." I don't have until tomorrow I work and she has a hurt foot and needs her rabies shot. THIS PLACE SUCKS even almost a year later!!! read more

The Doctors and techs are all very kind, however, every time my pets are seen, regardless for what, they need to send out the results (labs, x-rays, etc.) to get a "second opinion". We will no longer be going to Banfield when our current contract year runs out. We have been going there since the boys were 13 weeks old. They are almost 4 years old now. Since they lost a well qualified Vet and brought in 2 young (read inexperienced) vets instead, the quality of service has gone down. These 2 seem to be more intent on selling more services than actually taking care of your pet. One of my dogs has a cracked tooth that they would charge $700 to remove OR I could pay more on a monthly plan, $300 more per year, and pay only $200. Really? $500 to remove a tooth? Then, 1 of my dogs has extreme seasonal allergies. His throat gets infected and must be treated with steroids. This has been happening for a few years so we know exactly what it is. I took him in and asked for a prescription renewal that had worked the previous times and while I received the prescription I only received enough for half the length of time as before with the information that if it didn't work he would have to come back for Xrays that would cost $200. Needless to say, it didn't work. Almost cleared it but since the medication ran out so soon the infection came right back. I have already had his throat Xrayed at another Veterinary Clinic. Only cost $100. They will not accept my word that there is nothing there. So it has been over a month since his last round of Steroids that was insufficient and they agree with each other that they will not give the dog what he needs to make him well unless I agree to $200 for Xrays. His records are there. they just want to make more money and sent a sick dog home with no medication except take Benadryl for the allergies.....that won't help with the infection. I would not recommend this place. Both vets seem intent on selling products which make me think that maybe they are on commission? read more

Loyal customer for years.. will never go back!! I take my two dogs here religiously. They are both on wellness plans. I made an appointment to have my cat medically groomed. The appointment was rescheduled twice because two vets needed to be on staff. Get to the appt (Friday).. scheduler did not tell me that blood work would be required for a medical groom. Dr. Perez left the room to talk to another client and never returned. I had to work directly with the tech. Rude. But fine - I didn't have to hear her say "my love" 34 more times. They make me reschedule and I somehow ended up getting roped into a wellness plan (my own fault). Show up to the rescheduled appt (Monday) and the vet tech tells me that they may not be able to groom because my cat is not up to date on her shots. That they should have gave her her shots at my last appointment. How is this my fault?! Tech (Sheila) gave attitude that she's going to be the one to have to go to the doctor and pay for the shots if she is bit. Again, not my fault this was scheduled incorrectly A SECOND TIME. As Sheila is leaving with my cat she dropped the cat and carrier!! She started cursing behind the door. Later Sheila calls and apologizes for the morning. Said the cat is doing fine and she strolled around the clinic. Not ok. Vet later calls and says that a tooth need to be extracted. How did I know that was coming? They will ALWAYS try to tack on extra charges and fees! Vet stated that anal gland expression was not required with the medical groom because she excreted while they were grooming. Cat did it herself. As I was picking up my cat I was charged for gland expression. I questioned it. And they pushed back. Whatever. Get me away from this place. They hand over my cat and tell me that I need a new carrier because this one broke open "after an incident this morning". I was still there for the incident! I carried her in in the carrier! Not my fault Sheila wasnt supporting her and flinging her around. Awful scheduling! Awful vet experience! Waste of time! Extra fees! Unprofessional staff! Constant vet turnover! I will NEVER EVER take my dog here again. I took him for his heart worm test and to ask about his allergies and what i could give him to control them. The doctor barely made any connection with my dog, so cold, it made me and my dog uncomfortable. He also tried selling me a bunch of unnecessary products (including their wellness plan). I'm not sure how many times i can tell the doctor and staff "NO i do not want your wellness plan. I have insurance and I get all my money back every time." It was after the fourth time of me saying it that they finally got it through their heads. Tonight i went and asked the doctor (different doctor this time) about a suggestion for my dogs cracked paw (a minor crack). The doctor told me he might need sutures! Are you kidding me????? For a minor crack! Also it was if she couldn't be bothered with my questions. Jeez I'm sorry you are so busy being a great doctor NOT. Banfield has terrible customer service and hires a bunch of salesman. I will be suggesting to everyone NOT to ever go there for their veteranary needs. read more

I had heard horror stories from my neighbors but decided to give this place a shot. I was not able to get an appointment so they offered to have me drop him off in the morning and they would call with information. When they called I was informed of a fee for keeping my dog that day of which they said nothing about when I was trying to get an appointment. My dog went in for an infected paw and they quoted me 500$ for all the treatment and surgery, when they were not sure what it was in his paw. Then looking over the dosing for the medicine they had it all wrong. It would be $70 more for the correct dosage. Don't fall for their wellness plan stuff it is much more expensive then just paying for your dog to go to the vet when he needs to. Assuming he is healthy. We went here for about 4 years and I have switched my two dogs to Horizon Vet Clinic. We are very happy as they told me to try Epson salt for my dogs paw and the swelling has gone down and is almost completely normal in one day. read more
