My dog has an ear infection and I mistakenly took her a day prior to her appointment. Front desk staff heard my concerns before turning me away. She asked for a few minutes to consult. She came back and said Dr Quiroz can see you today we will see your dog today. I was so happy because my appointment was so out due to being booked. Please note this place has moved to Albany. This is a review for that company. We have been trying to get a hold of them to get a prescription so we can go to Costco to get it filled . They put you on hold for at least 20 min to 1hour , if it doesn't say, they're closed, even during work hours. Then when they get ahold of them they put you on hold again. This has been going on for two weeks. They are rude and condescending when you are able get them on the phone. I'm going to find another vet Wish there was a way to give a negative review. We have been here quite a few times. This one is ours despite one in Albany which is closer to home. However, this one is very near and dear to us for personal reasons. They are very friendly, and knowledgeable of what they are doing. I would find it hard to take our extended family members anywhere else short of an emergency. They offer many different services, as week as being inside the PetSmart which they also offer a discount for when shopping there. You can get your extended family groomed, checked up, and restock got them asking with extra toys and zoom zooms and wham whams all in one spot. read more

I've been with this pet hospital since I had my dog, so about 14 years. Over the years the staff has changed but they have been really good to my pet and I. Also forgot to mention that I have a wellness plan with Banfield like having pet insurance and I pay monthly but it's worth it because vet bills and visits can get expensive. Sometimes when you have an appointment the wait can be long due to how many other pets they have during the day. I recommend to go to Banfield and also look into the wellness plan. read more

I've really enjoyed them so far! They are up front and honest. Never once did they say that the preventative care package was insurance, in fact they clearly explain that it is in fact, not insurance. They have been able to see my sweet penny on short notice and have laid out a care plan to get her caught up on things that we have neglected to do over the last year and they have never chastised or been judgmental. The vets and tech have spent actual time with us explaining things and we have never been rushed. They have worked around our financial and scheduling needs the best they can. I've never really been thrilled with Banfield as a whole but now I know there is much better out there. I got a puppy the day of the Shelter in Place was out into place, and called to set her up with her shots(mid-Mar). Receptionist advised they're not taking any new appointments until mid-Apr due to the quarantine. Started to get worried because my puppy would need her next round of shots at the end of March. I called El Sobrante Vet and happy I did. I got a similar speech about how they're not taking appointments BUT my puppy needed her shots and that was considered essential so they squeezed her in. I was literally shocked. That's the type of care my puppy needs. Hello new vet!! I've always used Banfield (been to their other locations as well) for my other dogs because that's all I knew but never really been happy with their services. Extremely disappointed and furious with today's carelessness to detail. This is the second time in six months that I have had an issue with them. Today, my dog went in for a comprehensive exam and a dental cleaning. We picked him up and didn't realize that he still had his IV catheter in his arm!! This has NEVER happened before. And I didn't know what to do; it was already after hours. Luckily, one of the vet techs is one of my former students and I immediately texted him. He had time to come over and remove it for me instead of having me wait until the next morning to take my dog back. I'm extremely pissed about this carelessness! I'm lucky that I knew someone who could take care of him right away. THANK YOU JESUS! The last time I had an issue was again for his comp exam six months ago. When we picked him up, the vet tech complained that our dog nipped at him and that they were going to label him as "aggressive/biter" and I was like, WTF?! Do you not know my dog?! He is so the opposite of aggressive. And when we went home, he did not want us to touch his shoulder. I immediately called Banfield to find out why. Other than him nipping, there was no other incident. I again had messaged my former student and he said he looked up my dog's records and saw that he received a few shots in that arm. Then I realized that he probably nipped because he was mishandled and was hurt from the shots. Any dog would do that. I told them to remove the aggressive/biter label. I am so disappointed at Banfield right now. I have been with Banfield since February 2012 when I brought my dog, 7 weeks old, into their care. We have been loyal Wellness customers ever since. Banfield services were amazing during his first year. The doctors were nice and helpful. But my interactions with the vet techs were always amazing. You can tell they really cared about the animals and were very courteous to the humans. I and my dog were able to establish a relationship with them. This is why I enjoyed vet visits and remained loyal. But I noticed the customer service start to deteriorate around 2014 when many of the vet techs and doctors kept changing. I no longer had that familiarity with everyone and vice versa. And on top of that, the wait times were getting bad for appointments; we would be checked into a room and wait an average of 25-30 min before someone came in! But since I didn't do that often, I just brushed it off. Now we only take him twice a year for his comp and dental. And even that is starting to get bad. I want to be loyal to Banfield but my loyalty is with my dog; and Banfield isn't doing him right anymore. We made an appointment for our dog to have her teeth cleaned, ears cleaned and nails clipped. We were told to drop her off at 7:30am and they'd call when she was ready. We expected a call to pick her up in a few hours. They finally called at 2:30pm to say they hadn't gotten to her yet because the two dogs before her took longer than expected. We were told she was just napping and watching them the whole time. We were finally called to pick her up about 6pm. So our dog, who wasn't to have any food after midnight had been caged (we do not crate her) for close to 9 hours without water or a chance to relieve herself. To say the least we were very upset! When they called to see how how she was I let them have it. She was traumatized by this for 2 1/2 days. She was with our dog boarder/trainer for 2 days after this and can attest to this. Our dog suffered because of their poor scheduling practices. This is totally unacceptable! read more

My dog was bitten on the ear by a dog in PetSmart( the store in which Banfield is located) and the bastards at Banfield turned him away as he bled all over my husbands hands and arms. They wouldn't even provide basic first aid so we could transport him safely to emergency care in Berkeley. They handed him a towel. That's it, a freaking towel. They refused to even examine the injury. They shouldn't call themselves a hospital. This is the closest pet hospital to my home and nearby grocery shop, restaurants, and Target are walking distance away. The staff are friendly and helpful, but when they do get very busy, I find their phone ringing and ringing and waiting for someone to pick up the phone to help their customers. I have been a member for about a year now, and I come here to have my dog for his regular checkup and for any vaccination due. My pug has had a bad skin allergy for almost a year now. My pug had been recently been taking medications for his allergy. In addition, a blood test was drawn to confirm what type of allergies he has. So my pug was given a new allergy medication based on the blood test result. Unfortunately, my pug reacted to the medicine and caused him to lose weight, lost some hair from his neck, chest and head area. Informed the Doctor the condition and had my dog go back to his prior medication. Doc's advise was to dilute his new medication since my pug reacted to the new medication. I am currently monitoring my pugs condition to see if the advise would work. I am a bit skeptical currently, but am giving Banfield a chance to see if they can really find a BEST treatment for my dog. If not, I am taking my dog somewhere else where he can be treated with the right and best prescription for his skin allergy. I don't want to see my dog go through discomfort and trial and error in getting the right prescription since I have paid enough money for his blood test and with all prescriptions given. read more

The wait times are unbearable at times so you might as well remember there is most likely a wait unless you schedule for the MORNING. 3. Feel free to take the estimate home and do some research. Make sure you are doing the right thing for your pet. 4. Take advice from the professional, that being the DOCTOR. Sorry pet nurse. BTW the receptionist is a receptionist in scrubs, please be advised they have no medical training. 5. Keep in mind that they are a hospital within a store so they do accept walk ins. There have been cases of emergency so anything after lunch is a wait. 6. The cost for an exam is $44.95 the rest is extra. Here is the thing about Banfield the Pet Hospital in Richmond, they do care about your pets, but they do care about money too. Be careful ANYWHERE you go, but keep in mind a pet is one of the family. Each day is different as much as each experience. But follow my tips and you should be ok. Other things to know They have a thing called wellness hours where they take care of vaccines for healthy pets and they wave the exam fee. That is only for vaccines and not for urgent care. Also Dr. Murray sees exotic pets like birds, rabbits and hamsters, the rest do not. Try Dr. Chege or Dr. Murray they will make your visit a good one. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with Banfield. Since last night, my dog Yoda has been shaking and has very little energy. Yoda has been a loyal Wellness patient since 2012. Every single time I try to make an appointment, they never have anything available until weeks out. Which is extremely frustrating because they seem to have the time constantly call me to remind me to make preventative appointments. I've called 4 other Banfields within my area and none have any appointments available. What is the point of paying every month for the Wellness Plan if I can't even get an appointment when I need it? The only reason why I've continued being a Wellness member is because the times we have been seen we've had a pleasant experience with the staff and doctors. My husband and I brought our 8 month Lab, Ryder, for a repeat check-up regarding, what we thought at the time, was a sore paw. The vet (different from the initial visit's vet) told us that she recommended xrays as she noticed Ryder showed pain in his right shoulder and elbow. We agreed to the xrays as we felt his limp was not getting any better and we were told if he had elbow dysplasia and/or shoulder Osteochondritis Dissecans (OCD) he has to be treated right away. The vet told us when we showed to take Tryder home that the xrays showed he had OCD of his right shoulder and might have a little in his left and they could not ultimately rule out elbow dysplasia in his right leg. We were given 3 numbers for hospitals to schedule a consultation for arthroscopy. We decided to go to UC Davis (UCD). UCD was great, they got Ryder an appointment within 3 days. Ryder had a consultation with Dr. Kim who agreed with Banfield's xrays that Ryder did indeed need arthroscopy of the right shoulder but they needed to repeat the xrays for a better view of the left shoulder (the shoulder bone could not be viewed properly as another bone was overlapping it) and both elbows so they repeated the right shoulder xray as well. My husband and I along with Dr. Kim decided to leave Ryder at UDC for surgery in the morning. We hadn't even arrived home before we got a call from Dr. Kim telling us the xrays were perfectly normal and Ryder didn't need surgery and was ready to go home :o Ryder did NOT have OCD and did NOT show signs of elbow dysplasia on the xrays, Banfield's xrays were underexposed!!! There was NO reason for us to go to UCD and spend another $600 on vet fees. We spoke to the vet who initially referred us to UCD as well as the hospital manager and they keep on telling us the xrays were fine and they lost some clarity with the transfer to a disk. I work in an emergency department and this is NOT true!! And what does that matter when BOTH the Banfield vet and Dr. Kim saw OCD and possibly elbow dysplasia on BANFIELD's xrays and NOT UCDs' xrays!?! The visit to UCD was a great experience but totally unnecessary!! It looks like we're going to have to get ready for a huge debate with Banfield :( read more

Not happy! My Mom is recovering from double knee surgery. I agreed to take her cat to the vet for her. I was told appointment was at 3:30. I arrived at 3:35. Receptionist said we were wondering when you'd finally show up, and we'd have to make another appointment for another day. This upset me greatly! 5 minutes. She then told me the appointment was at 3:15 not 3:30. I said you can't accommodate me coming 20 minutes after you say the appointment was. She quickly rolled her eyes and said 25 minutes (cause by this time it was now 3:40 after I waited and spoke to her some). Don't roll your eyes with me! I was done talking to her after that. She said maybe by 6 I could be seen. The vet came and he was a pushy know it all that made me feel like an inadequate pet owner (it isn't even my cat!) for not wanting to pay hundreds of dollars when I just wanted the cat to get her shots. Some of the things he said about the cat had merit, but it isn't my cat and I am not authorized to spend that much so talking down to me was not apreciated. read more

I have never encountered any of the behavior stated in these reviews, it has been nothing but smooth sailing, and that's with any vet. (Dr. Sybil Murray is a great doctor at this Banfield, but that has nothing to do with this review. She is knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and careful to not squander your money but this whole business otherwise is a cartel. Dr. Perpetuo does not even know how to talk, forget communicate with clarity and the incision she performed on my pet for her spaying - I am medically trained too - looked best done by a student who would FAIL in the vet school. I hope the surgery inside is OK.) If your pet is perfectly healthy, you don't need a vet. And then Banfield is good. But in the other case, you need a vet. and then you get looted. This is a great place if your pet is completely and totally healthy. They're great with treating fleas, getting shots, having your dog groomed, stuff like that. Never take your pet there if it has anything not considered preventative or considered "wellness." I first brought my dog there in May 2010. He couldnt walk on his hind right leg. They told me it was an allergic reaction to a flea bite. I paid around $300 for that appointment. My dog's situation never improved. I brought him back, they did more tests (xrays) and then told me he may have cancer--they werent sure, but they wanted to give him these really expensive meds that only they sell and see how how he does first. That appointment cost me $600. My dog's situation never improved. I took him back, they gave him yet another examination, another round of xrays and more meds. My dog never improved. That appt cost me $200. $1100 and my dog's situtation has never improved. Hell, I dont even have a diagnosis yet. But they still want me to bring him in for more xrays and more meds. The moral of this story? If your dog has any sort of semi-serious issue, dont bring him here. They are only interested in taking money from you. They give you a lot of talk and say things like "I'll have a specialist review this case" and they don't. I later found out the meds they sold me for $80, I could get from Wal-Mart for $15. This place is a total rip off. And, yes, it sucks that every time you go there, you get a totally different doctor and each doctor has to start over. Wow, I can't believe some of these reviews that I'm reading. yes, pets can be expensive and their can be a long wait time but come on people, it's a pet hospital! That's whats wrong with people, they have no patience and always want something for free. My experience with this hospital has been great. They are very informative and they care for their animal that they treat. If you're going to get a quote about their wellness plan, it's your responsibility to read it over and ask questions. I take my cat's here in the early morning and pick them up in the afternoon. I'm afraid to think how some of these people who are complaining would turn out as parents. HORRIBLE. I will say that the staff is nice and friendly. However, I have had several issues with Banfield at this location as well as at another banfield pet location. I've been called from the Pinole location saying my cat is due for a certain shot, I hadn't been able to make it in for a while and so I called them to finally schedule the appointment and then they said " It looks like she is up to date with everything" so I was like well than what had I been called about saying she needed? They replied with " I don't know, our records show that she is all up to date." This happened again when I recently took her to get spayed, when I was dropping her off at this Pinole location, they said "she is due for such and such shot, do you want to do it today after her surgery or another day?" I decided to take her another day so that she wouldn't have to go through so much in one day. I just called them right now to schedule that appointment for the shot they said she would need, and AGAIN, they tell me " Our records show she has everything" WTH?! ALSO, I initially signed up for the kitten 1 year plan. The year is up and guess what they do, they automatically renew you onto the next plan! I was not told this in advance. I've been with Banfield since I had my cat in the late 90s. After he passed I've stayed with Banfield with my first and second dogs. I've used Banfield in San Leandro, Daly City, Pasadena, Washington DC and now Pinole. In all the years I've been with them, I had a couple of unpleasant experiences, mostly around leaving my dogs there all day because some Banfield's just get too busy. But overall, my experience with them has been awesome! I've had wonderful vets who have gone above and beyond, Banfield keeps incredible records, and it's great to have a pet hospital that focuses on preventative care. They've helped keep all my pets very, very healthy. I recently started working with dogs full-time and have recommended Banfield to many clients. Every client has had great experiences with the Banfield hospital they have gone to. No place is perfect and Banfield hospitals certainly do get busy but I've always felt that my pets were in good hands and that the front desk staff, nurses and vets have consistently been caring and attentive. read more

Regardless of how much money or "time" you're saving by going here, do not. I would rather spend twice as much and drive twice as far to take my pet anywhere else. It's going to end up costing you more time than you could imagine, and more grief and stress than anyone should have to endure just trying to care for their pet. The people working the counter don't care about you or your pet, and, due to their overbooking, the vet will not have time to get acquainted with or care for your pet. Imagine your own "vet from hell" scenario, and this vet will assuredly be worse. I called to make an appointment to have my dog's nails trimmed, teeth cleaned, vaccines administered, and, most importantly, to have the vet look into why my dog was laying down during walks. I arrive at 730am to drop her off. They tell me no one scheduled a teeth cleaning so it wouldn't happen (they called me an hour later saying they could). Later on the phone they say that even though I dropped her off early, she was put on the end of the dental list so it'd be awhile. BS, but okay. They said "4pm" (8.5 hours from drop-off). At 4:30pm I hadn't heard from them. Irate and worried, I made the somewhat long drive to them in rush hour. I said I had waited nine hours and had gotten no call. They offered no apology and told me only that she was done but was still sedated so I needed to wait an hour. Then they said, "Come back in an hour and a half or we'll call you if it's sooner." I walked around for an hour and a half and came back. They said she was ready. Nobody had bothered to call me at all. After my dog was there for 10.5 hours, they still did not apologize. They also tried to have me leave without talking to a vet. When I asked to see one, they sent out a "vet tech" who hadn't even seen my dog. I asked about what they found regarding her laying down early during walks - she told me that they hadn't even checked into that. They also told me she had to come back in a week for more vaccines - something they hadn't told me until just then. A couple days later, I noticed that they completely neglected to trim one of my dog's nails. Post-appointment, she had several sticky spots on her fur, presumably from the teeth cleaning. Banfield assured me that they'd call to check on her in the next day or two, but they did not. She didn't eat for two days, but luckily got better after that. She continues to have the problem with walking. This was not my only bad experience here, but was, by far, my worst. read more

First they cancel an existing appointment, I get them to put me back in, then they cancel again because Dr. Sheriff did not see the urgency. Well it is urgent for my pet and I. It is urgent because we are paying for the Banfield wellness plan. It is urgent because without patients, they would be out of a job. We are cancelling the plan. Do not take your pet here. Banfield gets one star because Dr. Murray and the nurse staff are really sweet and great. Unfortunately, that's the only star they get because they employee other vets who bring the average down. Especially Dr. Perpetuo. She's the worse doctor ever. I don't know why she's a vet, she doesn't really like animals. We've been going to Banfield for over a year now. I've always known how overpriced it was, but Dr. Murray was a great doctor and we went for her. Not Banfield. Above being expensive, it was extremely inefficient. And on the occasions Dr. Murray wasn't there, I wasn't a big fan of the doctors we received. So let me start with, last August (2008) we had a litter of 9 labrador puppies. We own mom and day and decided to hang on to two of the puppies. We took all nine puppies (plus mom and dad) for treatment at Banfield. When 6 weeks were up and they were adopted, we recommended Banfield to everyone-but only Dr. Murray. I'm saddened to think of the pups who didn't receive treatment from her. We had three of our four dogs on Wellness Plans, took our dogs in for shots all the time. The staff there loved them. We never complained and never caused problems. Last week our big dog (Cooper, the father) did something very stupid that ended up in a trip to the doggie ER in Berkeley. They wanted us to go in for a follow up test to check his blood in a few days. The doggie ER let us know that it would be about a $60-$100 test. They encouraged me to visit my regular vet since they were almost positive the visit would be cheaper than them. I scheduled an appointment with Banfield and unfortunately couldn't get Dr. Murray. When I sat in the examination room, I saw on the screen, Dr. Perpetuo. I immediately grabbed my Blackberry and read Patricia D.'s review. I hoped for the best, expected the worse. My hopes were shattered very quick. The nurse had said she was going to give us a quote before anything happened. Perpetuo came in, felt Cooper's body for all of 4 minutes and informed me I was in for a $280 test! My boyfriend came back and was asking her why the test would cost so much when they ER clinic had said it was only $60. She was very curt and rude with her answer and told us to go over to the ER clinic then. Then she tried charging us the full $45 for the office visit. When my boyfriend stated, "But we didn't do anything yet" she yelled, "I GAVE HIM A PHYSICAL, MY TIME IS WORTH MONEY!!!" and my boyfriend calmly said, "You spent four minutes with him. You were supposed to give us the quote beforehand." And she yelled, "YOU HAVE ALWAYS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE." Really? We have spent over $4,000 at Banfield in the past year and have gotten along with everyone in the office until her. I let her know we've never been trouble, we've had three dogs on plans and have always gotten along with everyone. Then she told us to just "GET OUT" so we did. Banfield just lost the business of four dogs. Again I say, in this economic climate I would think they would be more customer service oriented. No stars. This won't post unless you give stars Poorly managed. Today was one of many horrible experience with this location. I stay with Banfield because of their Wellness Plan but I am reconsidering this decision. This location cannot control their doctor coverage. Today I arrived for a doctor appointment to be told it was a "drop off" appointment because they had no doctor on site. My dog would wait until a doctor might come in. A "drop off" appoint means the dog is caged for hours sometimes all day until she/he can be seen. Drop offs are the norm for wellness check ups. I try to pin them down to a short time limit Today this was not that kind of an appointment. When a doctor finally shows up all the dogs are in cages and I have had my dog in a cage up to 5 hours. For a company in the business of humane treatment 5 hours in a cage is cruel. Even dogs with emergency have to wait unless life threatening. My take o this location is bad management. The staff constantly changes including the doctors. Up front staff is usually in training and they are unfamiliar with functions. When I call ahead for refills on prescriptions I have to spell out the drug and explain what it is for. I know it is in the computer system but can't be found. I ask do you have a supply,as I have arrived to find they are out after calling, again a wait and I'll check. Assured they do I tell them when I'll be in. When I get there I'm asked again the same questions as on the phone. And the need to check with a doctor. Why didn't you check when I called. They're is another location I have used but they have missing doctors and few meds. My complaint is with Pinole they need corporate do an evaluation of management. If you want to be ripped off without an effort, go there inmediately! Prices here are so high I felt offended! I had to go there because it was Sunday and they were the only ones open in the area. One of my dogs had a night vomiting pretty bad and was getting dehidrated. I got an appointment for 3:00 PM. We got there on time. The Vet assistant came into the room around 3:40 PM. Ashley was really nice and sweet to my dog. Nice young woman. She took his vitals and asked the routine questions. The dog was pretty much perfect, other than the vomiting nothing else was wrong. Then she left the room, 15 minutes later the Vet came in. She checked the dog for 15 seconds and decided that she needed more tests. She went out and 2 min later Ashley came in with the estimated list of tests. Total of all procedures: whaming $786.00!!! What?!?? I told her: I can't afford that! All I want is to pay for the office visit, something to stop the vomiting and a therapy to aliviate the dehydration. - She went out and came back with a second plan. Notice that the assistant was the one giving the face. The vet had to be rippen off another victim... The 2nd plan was the visit + the a shot+ plus the therapy :$156.96!! Better but still pretty high. All I took was the shot+office visit. Total bill $79 + tax . The receptionist super nice, advised me to give him Gatorate or Pedialite to hidrate him. We went home, I gave him water and a soft home made diet. The puppy is perfectly fine now. Wow! These people are there to make business ripping you off. Grab your wallet hard if you go there!! If you want to go to a pet care place, I can't say that this is a decent one. On several occasions, the people who have helped us have made some terrible suggestions on how to care for our dog. All of the products that they state as being recommended specifically by the vet can be found on the internet for much less. They need to train their staff on basic animal science and courtesy. One salesperson recommended something that casued our dog to choke because it was not intended for him. read more

I been taking my dog here and now that I have a second dog decided to enroll him. I scheduled his neutering appointment over a month ago. I requested my days off specifically for this and now they cancelled and can't even accommodate me for the next day or the day prior. Mind you it's tuesday and my a got was Friday. So furious. If you are going to cancelled on me at least accommodate me and schedule me asap but not they don't care. Horrible !!!!! read more

There really is a reason that people have given this place low stars. This place is ridiculous! I bought the wellness plan to which I had NO idea was really a one year contract, no matter what. I had to rehome my pet and in turn needed to cancel the wellness plan. But guess what? I'm still responsible for paying for services that my dog has received...even though I don't have her and the monthly should have been covering that. No one at this location broke it down that way. Aside from that, every time I went in I was charged at lease $150 extra for medications she "needed." There were a couple of times I was given advice that was not good - such as telling me to get a prong collar for my high energy dog (I don't believe in those). I'm so glad I won't be dealing with this company anymore. They are only interested in the money for crappy service. The wait times are long even with appointment and they "don't know what's wrong with your pet." So they make you spend hundreds on medicine. Don't come here. Go to other vets. El Sobrante Vet and Richmond Pet Hospital are both excellent choices that won't overcharge in the long run! I have them an extra star because some of their staff was really engaging and caring, but other than that, I'm not thrilled. read more

My family and I have taken all of our dogs to Banfield. They have all been on the insurance plans they have available, from the puppy plans to the more comprehensive senior plans. They have always been wonderful to us, provided our doggies with great care and referred us to specialists when needed. One of our older doggies recently passed, we called and came in right away, they had the room and doctor ready for us. They were wonderful during a difficult time. read more

This place is horrible! I started bringing my jack russell to them as part of their wellness program when she was 8 weeks old, and it took me 3 years and many, many, many second chances before I have finally said enough is enough. The customer service is horrible, and the workers spend more time goofing off in the back than they do caring for the pets. I inquired about something that was to be done, but did not show up on my invoice, and overheard the conversation with the Doctor and two assistance about whether or not it actually did happen or not. It sounded like three unsure and uninterested people joking about something that I take very serious.... MY PETS HEALTH! The last straw was when I arrived for an appointment, waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to the front counter from the back, was told that I'd be called when my pet was done, which was to be a couple of hours, and then 6 hours later after calling to check on things, was told that they didn't even start yet. When I got there, the lady who was waiting at the counter told me that they fit her in for her appointment and that she was told that they were "slow". When I confronted the person at the front counter, I was told that the reason for my pets delay was that it was very very busy. Hmmm??? This place is horrible. Maybe I will try a different Banfield until my annual plan runs out but for now, I will never go back to banfield in Pinole and I'm also considering not going to PetSmart either, just because they are guilty by association as far as I'm concerned. My dog Khaleesi loves this place. They know her by name and always call or email with reminders about her appointments whether routine or not. They've waited with her at times I got off work late and couldn't make it in time to pick her up before they closed, only to greet me with a smile and a "don't worry about it", assuring me that she's always in good hands. read more
