I have been taking my fur babies to see him since I was a teen. He is so smart and so amazing with the fur babies. He really knows his stuff and is caring and compassionate. We brought our elderly cat here when she got sick, for follow up after a visit to urgent care. Let me be straight forward, we knew going in that she wasn't well. We didn't expect a miracle. I think we went back 2 or 3 times, for testing, med changes etc. The staff, while we were on site, was lovely. Friendly, kind. Would explain what was going on so we could understand. Even took the time to teach us how to give our girl fluids at home so we didn't have to bring her in every day. And quickly signed the form sent over so that we could buy her prescriptions online to save money. We were able to keep her pretty comfortable at home. My one and only problem, which is a big one, is that when it was time to put our sweet girl down, we called them before we drove over. We knew it was her time. And during that call, we were told... "call back tomorrow, maybe we can fit her in then." Tomorrow? She is suffering now! I didn't like being turned away, by the people who had been treating her, who we had come to think of as good people, that would care for all of our pets in the future. We ended up taking her to the animal emergency room. Where they got her in immediately. But then had to pay emergency room prices as well. But she was worth it. So, was our initial care good? Yes. But the last interaction we had with them will forever be a memory that we have, of how they didn't care, in the end. Of how we were left, in tears and with a dying cat, to figure out another option. So, I wouldn't recommend Advanced Veterinary Medical Center. We won't return with our other pets. read more

I had a routine appointment scheduled and arrived on time, only to wait an hour before ultimately leaving without being seen. This is the second time this has happened. What was most frustrating wasn't the wait itself, but the lack of communication. Nobody called ahead to let me know they were running behind, even though that would have let me come later or reschedule and avoid wasting two hours between commuting and waiting. Once I was there, I had to proactively check in multiple times to get any updates, and it was only after a full hour that staff suggested rescheduling -- still without being able to give me any estimate of when I might have actually be seen. I understand the clinic is understaffed and prioritizes emergency cases, which may make it a reasonable option if you're facing a true emergency. But for routine care, I can't recommend it based on this experience. The paw was clipped and cleaned, and I left with antibiotics, steroids, ointment, and an e-collar. The visit cost $381. Over the next several days, it became clear that the real issue appeared to be a toenail that was coming off. I called the clinic to ask if they would provide a complimentary recheck since I was concerned the underlying problem may not have been identified during the original visit. The staff told me someone would call me back, but I never received a return call. I understand that veterinary medicine isn't always straightforward, and I wasn't expecting perfection. However, I was disappointed that no one followed up after I raised my concerns, especially after spending nearly $400 on the initial visit. Even if a free recheck wasn't possible, a simple phone call to discuss the situation would have gone a long way. This business was taken over by another Vet. Our dog went here for years. The previous owner was one Vet. He was very practical. There was no upselling. We kept going here once it switched owners. Recently, I felt like expensive labs are ordered and there is no clear information about results. We would get $1,000 or more Vet bills and had no idea what information they got from these labs. One lab was "inconclusive." Sometimes I wondered if labs were even done. We left this practice. Our dog is getting older and needs more care. The quality here is not what we needed. read more

Remember, pets are here for exam and consultation which we PAY for the doctor's professional, not opinion or exam from the assistant, why the rush with a booked appointment??? MAKE SURE you clearly agreed with any treatment before they take your pets in or it will be too late (which my other vet do everything right in front of your face, injection, biopsy, testing, or scanning etc), this vet seem very in rush and not letting you to think! Do not gimme excuses that more customers are waiting outside, I paid for an appointment with professional's opinions, not just a literally couple minutes visit and leave, if you are that busy do not take more appointment booking!!! After service that we paid for? NO! Called to follow up because they never call back, the staff was extremely rude, unprofessional. What in a world they asked me to diagnose my fur baby's health by myself when I paid for this extra after service? After that rude call, no response no nothing, I had to pay extra to other two vets for follow up, other two vets never get any medical records from them too, and both vets found out AVMC wasn't doing the right job for what I paid for! Pet owner, please reconsider if you have to come here if you really love your fur babies. I called the office after I left to get price of antibiotics which I didn't fill at office because I wanted to compare with CVS for I have spent a GREAT amount of $$$ on all 3 of my dogs there and money is tight. EBONY answered the phone and after I requested to know the cost of meds there her response was "I have 4 other things I'm trying to do now & I can't check now. I haven't loaded your paperwork in yet". . I ended up going back to office to have prescriptions filled for I didn't want to go to Cosco to get (more time). 1-Star Review - Outrageously Unprofessional and Not the Same Clinic Anymore I've been a loyal client at this pet hospital for years, and I cannot believe how far downhill it's gone since the new vet took over. The difference is shocking. I brought my dog in for a basic flea issue, yet I was handed a pile of overpriced products -- all items I later found online for a tiny fraction of what they charged me. It didn't feel like medical care; it felt like a cash grab. The trust I used to have in this place is completely gone. And the worst part? They refuse to return my calls. I've tried multiple times to get a simple explanation about the bill, and they won't bother to call me back. Not once. After years of bringing my pets here, this treatment is insulting and unacceptable. Since they clearly have no intention of addressing this, I will be reporting the situation to the relevant veterinary oversight authorities, including the American Veterinary Medical Association and any additional consumer protection channels available to me. No pet owner should be ignored, overcharged, and dismissed like this. This is absolutely not the same clinic it used to be. Our small dog began scratching her ear a couple of days before returning from the East Coast. We were able to get a 6 pm appt the day after getting back (having later hours is very helpful). The front desk people were friendly and efficient. Alyssa, an aspiring vet herself, was very gentle but thorough in her assessment of our dog's condition. After a short wait, Dr. Linelle examined her, gently and with care, and was as happy as I was that her inner ear was clear. After another short wait for the results of a cytology test, we left with the appropriate meds for her infected outer ear. This was a very positive experience. Our dog hardly ever squirmed on the examining table and I'm guessing that when we go back for a follow-up appt, our dog will drag me the office's front door for more kind attention--and treats. read more

My husband and oldest daughter took our 6 month old puppy, Luna here after she had been limping and we had a not so good experience with a previous vet. Everyone here was so accommodating and supportive with Luna and her anxiety about being at the vet. I wrote a previous review which was excellent- the vet that tended to us there proposed a course of action for an old cat that had gotten into some terrible tangle. The instructions were clear with initial steps rather than rushing to surgery- which worked. But this trip with my 15 and 1/2 year old dog not so good- a mere eh- The staff at the desk super helpful and making appointments easy. The tech that started us was helpful but when I asked if my pup stunk (have been noticing an odor lately) she just said- "he just smells old". The vet was attentive and obviously knowledgeable but presented us with a slew of things with no real recommendation of approach- more the costly and potentially invasive machine gun approach. He recommended some pain meds (perhaps for arthritis but hadn't seen my pup walk or anything) but then didn't follow up...he also made a number of odd remarks I thought such as "he looks much older than 14" when he is in fact 15.5 and what an odd thing to say even if he got the age right. And another one- "he is not all there" ....hmmmm.... I don't know- results were inconclusive- no real course of action for the few issues my pup has developed in age. I feel it was largely a waste of money and not sure what to follow up with- read more

Unfortunately, this clinic has suffered what most businesses are suffering these days. They are too busy and mistakes are being made. Information is not being conveyed amongst the Vet and the techs and/or the front desk. Recently a judgement call to sedate my dog "mildly" was made without my knowledge or consent as to what type of medication would be used and unfortunately, my dog paid the price. He was "strung out" and would not settle when I got him home. He would just pace around the house, whimper, pant and was "out of his skull" with what looked like anxiety. He is 14 and nearly blind and had to deal with this unrest. My husband and I took turns staying up with him because my poor baby could not sit still... ALL NIGHT. No exaggeration...ALL NIGHT! The other issue is some of the front desk staff, specifically Ebony, act as though they are doing you a favor by just showing up. Absolutely NO people skills, let alone customer service skills. I am very disappointed because I followed Dr. Linville from Vallejo to El Sobrante, and the quality of service has diminished. I do believe Dr. Linville is a gifted veterinarian, but I can't continue to put up with all the other issues. read more

Very professional staff and vet who explained things thoroughly and understandably and also listened to what I was saying. For whatever reason, my dog does not do well with the Kind Care/No Trauma new approach to vet care and was getting stressed out at a different practice that began implementing that. Here they used the type of approach I was used to (and my dog was used to), which I find is faster and less stressful in the long run for all concerned.
