Beef fried dumplings are rare but here they are so delicious will definitely be coming back. Also had bulgogi japchae and it was really good.

    Japchae Noodles Box
    Krystyn P.

This review is for their delivery service only, which can be found under Uber Eats as "Just Add Soju". I ordered Jap Chae with Bulgogi, and a side of kimchi. The jap chae and bulgogi was very good .... But OMG, the kimchi! That was some of the most flavorful kimchi I had in a while and my mouth is still watering thinking about it. Definitely recommend ordering from here if you're needing some quick and easy food delivery in Arlington or DC.

Bulgogi Kimbap, Honey Garlic K-BBQ Wings. Korean Rice Cakes
    Eric Y.

Simple original tasting Korean food! Finally they have rescued DC. Welcoming owners and easy to order with a elegant modern inside ambiance. 떡볶이 Korean Rice Cakes, 양념치킨 Boneless Fried Chicken, and 김밥. They have wine and Sapporo Beer and will have 소주 (Soju) and Korean Beer shortly. We will be back often. Prices are good but most importantly food tastes great! 감사합니다! Life Savers

    Rainbow bibimbop
    Elaine S.

My first carryout order from here! I tried the rainbow bibimbop and it was very fresh and delicious. The bulgogi was warm and flavorful and the brown rice at the bottom of the dish and the fresh vegetables (red cabbage, kale, carrots) & steamed vegs (corn, zucchini) that decorated on top were fabulous. This place satisfies my Korean craving here in Brookland while at work and I am excited to come back and try their other dishes. Now I don't have to run to Arlington or Centreville Virginia for a weekday Korean craving at work!

Inside Spicy Pork Banh Mi - lots of pork
    Akande S.

I used uber eats so can't speak to service but flavor was a GO! I got the spicy pork banh mi which came loaded with pork and a nice balance of fresh toppings to offset the spice and YES! There was spice!! The bread was a bit hard on the outside (think french bread presentation without french bread flavor or chew) and i requested extra mayo which must've been missed in the notes. Still satisfying.

    Pork Belly Bossam Special Set
    Taj M.

I ordered takeaway and got the Special Pork Belly Bossam set (for two), which came with sides of rice, japchae, and kimchi banchan. The tray was neat and could have easily served as an immediate centerpiece the way that it was packaged. The lettuce was crisp, the pork was tender and good cuts of meat that weren't overly fatty. The japchae was light and a little sweet and savory--addictive. The kimchi had great flavor, and this was more than enough food for the two us. This was my first time having bossam where it was accompanied by lettuce instead of pickled cabbage leaves for wrapping, but the lettuce added a nice texture, and I just piled on kimchi from the banchan, along with the sauces, jalapeños and garlic, and it was delicious. We'll definitely get this again, and I'm planning to try the Traditional Bibimbap next. I'm so excited to find this nearby!

    Vegan Brownie
    Moni T.

I saw this place on Yelp's Instagram page and since I was working in the city decided to go here for lunch. I thought it was a place I can order my food and sit down to eat. I was wrong. Once you enter the building there's a kiosk with the bangbop sign. You place your order and wait for it to come out. There are two other establishments in the building as well. The food I order was good. I wished my brownie came in one of those plastic trays, it probably would've tasted fresher. Also, I didn't get the correct drink I ordered, instead of the Korean lemon-lime drink, they gave my American Sprite. I probably wouldn't come back to this establishment.

Korean Fire Chicken Pizza -- ITS HUGE
    Rafia R.

OMGGGG ASGDJFGHKLLJAJSJA I've ordered from here just once through Grubhub, got two things their Korean fire chicken pizza and their gyopo (chicken) bibimbap. I literally just only had maybe 1/3 of their pizza and I had to write this review right away!!! THE PIZZA IS SOOOO GOOD. It has Korean seasoned chicken with kimchi and cheese. The taste is so authentic and so flavorful. It is truly a fusion pizza. The size is huge (definitely two meals worth). And the price??? Just $13 for this pizza?? My dudes PLEASE CHECK THIS PLACE OUT FOR THE PIZZA!! I will report back when I've had the bibimbap but I have a high expectations! This is definitely a spot to check out.

This was a great portion size of food to share among two people. The pajeon was my husband's favorite part of the meal. I enjoyed the vegan jigae the most. Overall there was no weak part of this meal and we did not leave a single morsel of food behind. I will note that the vegan bulgogi tasted almost identical to the bulgogi you can buy at Trader Joe's. We love that bulgogi so that is not a problem. It was just funny to taste something very familiar to us. The rest of the meal was new flavors for me, and reminded my husband of his 4 years living in Korea. My husband has not had authentic Korean flavors made vegan before so this was a major treat. We saved room for dessert and enjoyed this soft nutty sweet treat. It was the perfect finish to a delicious lunch. Thank you Onggi for being so vegan friendly! Also, one of my close friends is vegan, so fairly challenging to find a nice spot for her. She enjoyed everything that she ordered, and it made us both happy. Went with jeyuk bokkeum as a main. The sauce is just how I like it--tasty zing, very light consistency, not on fire, pleasant. Sampled some of the jabche and split a vegan kimbap--all delicious. If this is considered extraordinary Korean fare, I couldn't say, but think their cooking is pretty darn good. Once inside, it's hard to tell you're in Dupont Circle, with all of the horrible construction that's perpetually on-going in the neighborhood. It's an escape of sorts. Onggi is a keeper.

I've had better. 3. Lobster steamed egg (1/5) - the lobster was rubbery and I'm not a big fan of mixing sweet and savory together and for me, the sweet peppers ruined the entire dish. For me, the dish as a whole was less than the sum of its parts. 4. Ssam (5/5) - this dish saved the rest of the meal. The meat was tender the pear was nice and refreshing but to be honest, I consider this hard to mess up as long as the meat is good. My wife said that she wishes we just ordered two of these and nothing else lol. 5. Drinks (non-alcoholic - one was yakult and the other I think was passionfruit) - my wife really enjoyed both drinks so I guess I'll round up the review to 4 stars. If I lived in DC, I would probably go back here but since we're from out of state and visit DC once a year for work, we probably wouldn't come back here.

My husband and I dined in for the first time today, and we were both very impressed with the atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Hayden was our server, and he showed exemplary hospitality skills. He made us feel welcome, checked in on us frequently without feeling overbearing, and made sure we knew the AYCE menu is double-sided. Speaking of, the AYCE is such a great deal! I used to live in Vegas, where AYCE sushi is very common. Unfortunately, for most of them, since the focus is on quantity, the quality suffers. This is not the case for Toryumon! Maybe it's because it isn't strictly an AYCE place. You can absolutely order items a-la-carte from their regular menu (as I had done previously for take-out). The items are exactly the same whether you order from the regular menu or the AYCE. Same quality, and, this is important, same size! Yes, you will receive a FULL-SIZED bowl of ramen if you order it from the AYCE menu. Not all of the menu items have descriptions, and I was surprised by some of them (not in a bad way, just wasn't what I was expecting), such as: The avocado salad. I was expecting it to be cubes/chunks of avocado tossed with a dressing. What came out was a lettuce salad with sliced avocado on top. The dressing was good, slightly sweet. It was a good salad, just not at all what I was expecting. The sweet potato sushi roll is served warm, the sweet potato is deep fried, and there is eel sauce on top. The sweet potato rolls I had other places were not fried, and served cold. I really enjoyed this one! Everything seemed very fresh, not a hint of wilting greens or brown avocado to be seen! I am so grateful to live right down the road from this amazing establishment. If you enjoy ramen, sushi, and other Japanese items, def give them a try! There are bathrooms available for guests. What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. Someplace I would love to recommend to tourists, and visit myself again and again. 4 is great, somewhere I'd love to return again and again. Back-up recommendation for tourists. 3 is good. A solid option if I am in the area. I may recommend to locals, but would probably leave it off my list of recommendations for tourists. 2 is ok, but only because it a great value, unique, and/or convenient. 1 means I would not return.
