    Cashew nut chicken

With something like 15 years, I believe, of coming here, this place, like many, has had ups and downs with employees, and the parking lot can be challenging, but the food has ALWAYS been spot on. Three words: Cashew nut chicken. It is the sauce. 100% heaven sent. Each time I order, eat and go to leave I feel I am forgetting to hug the chef. They could have had 20 in the years I have been bringing mainlanders in as part of an Oahu melting pot culinary experience, and everyone if them makes it magical.

We missed this place and glad we came to have their pad that which is so ONOLICIOUS! Their summer rolls are packed and the sauce so creamy. Then the chicken basil with lots of bamboo shoots so good! Desert is Giuse delight Mango ice cream with sweet sticky rice, what a nice ice sweet treat to end it all.

Ordered all of our same favorites including tapioca cups. The spring rolls, yellow chicken curry and the tapioca's were still awesome. Few things that didn't go well: As I was waiting for my food, the worker was putting my order in their paper bag with handle. Informed her that I brought a bag so she took it out and passed the food to me to pack it myself...no customer service. The food was really hot so I took the bag she was going to give me so I could put the tapioca cups in to separate it from the hot foods. She told me the bag cost $.25. Wha?! My order was almost $50 AND she was planning to give me the bag in the first place but yet she wouldn't mind upsetting me now by wanting to charge me for the bag??? WOW... When I opened the yellow curry containers at home, it didn't have the sticky rice I ordered. I looked at my receipt and thankfully, she didn't charge me for it but was disappointed because I really enjoy eating the curry with sticky rice. There are a few Thai restaurants close to where I live but I choose to travel almost 10 miles away to pick up from Bangkok Chef because the food is GOOD but since the customer service was BAD, I'll try again. If no improvement, will look for another place and won't return.

We ordered takeout from Bangkok Chef for dinner and everything we got was solid. We had the chicken pad Thai, chicken satay, and chicken larb. I only had a bite of the pad Thai but it had good flavors. The chicken satay was very good I'm glad they used chicken thighs because it made the meat juicier and more flavorful. The larb was tasty too, full of flavor and herbs, though it seemed like they forgot to include the cabbage or lettuce to eat it with. Overall, not a bad spot at all to get your Thai fix. Would order from them again!

Love this place! Its clean, spacious and welcoming. The owners are so sweet and always have smiles on their faces. The food is ono (delicious) and the service is great. The prices are worth it and I love going there day or night time. They also have good Thai tea! I travel from Waimanalo to go there.

Wow, this restaurant made me love Thai food! Their beef noodles tasted other wordly!! And their beef yellow curry was amazing too! Definitely recommend getting sticky rice with the curry. Fish paties aka cart and the bamboo chicken where good sides to add diversity to the family dinner but out of all the dishes I'd say the yellow curry with sticky rice and the beef noodles are must tries!! Plenty of tables and seats indoors. You have the option of being seated and the server will come to take your order or you can order straight from the cashier's counter. Staff were all very friendly and food came out within 15 minutes of ordering. Would definitely come here again!

Food is warm and tasty. I added broccoli to panang curry with chicken...potatoes, and red peppers. Good combo, $3.50 extra for a good amount of broccoli. Of course, chicken fried spring rolls was excellent. One serve and very attentive, insisted I tried mango ice cream with sticky rice. I asked for no sticky rice...good tasting! Ambiance was average noise...echos because high ceiling.

Love their dishes here and prices are reasonable too! Love their curries and other stir fries come with rice in the same container. Perfect for lunch!

Thai food can be spicy and my tolerance level is on the lower medium level. I want to enjoy what I am eating without sweating ( it rains down perspiration when it's really spicy ) and swearing. First visit to the N. Nimitz Hwy locale, situated on the ewa end of La Tour Plaza. I requested takeaway on my initial visit and got the Yellow Curry with tofu...you have a choice of tofu, vegetables, chicken, etc. I asked for a mild spice level and I was thankful that I was cautious, as it was hot enough to enjoy and not pour down the perspiration. On this second occasion, I picked up the Papaya Salad. This was a bit spicy...I was not asked about the spice level, so I think there isn't a customizable level for salads. It was ok...I think I've only had a couple of green papaya salads and can't say I am big fan, just to throw that out as a caveat. Wait time was very good on both occasions. Dining area is spacious with a high ceiling. Bench for customers waiting to pick up their takeout orders at the left. Parking...it's La Tour Plaza...but there are a few dedicated stalls for Bangkok Chef in front of their entrance.

If you're looking for authentic Lao food, this place definitely delivers. We ordered the Soop Noor Mai (bamboo shoot salad), Lao-style Som Tum, Beef Red Curry with jasmine rice, and Seen Haeng (beef jerky). The standout dish for me was the Soop Noor Mai. It was unlike anything I've had before, with an earthy, herbaceous flavor and plenty of texture from the shredded bamboo shoots, toasted rice powder, fresh herbs, and greens. Every bite had something different going on, making it both interesting and deeply satisfying. The Lao-style papaya salad was fresh, vibrant, and packed with bold flavors. The beef red curry was rich, creamy, and fragrant with tender beef that paired perfectly with the jasmine rice. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the Seen Haeng. While the flavor was good, the beef was cooked a little too long and ended up drier than I prefer. I personally like Lao beef jerky with a bit more tenderness and chew. Everything else was excellent, and the relaxing garden setting made the experience even better. If you're craving authentic Lao cuisine in Honolulu, Olay's is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu.

This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I guess that was the best thing about this meal-remembering where I could get really good Thai food-so that the next time I'm having a craving, I can go back over there...I hope it's still there.

We couldn't decide what to eat until my wife finally said, "Let's go get Thai food at that place my sister and I tried about a month ago." I responded with a "K we go." I figured they were probably getting ready to close, but we lucked out, Siam Garden Café is now open until 10:00 p.m. on Sundays! Awwwwwriiite...!. Since it was later in the evening, there were only a few tables filled, so we were seated right away and had plenty of time to check out the menu. My wife already knew exactly what she wanted--the Thai Beef Salad. I had my eye on the Thai Fried Chicken, and we added an order of Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). We requested it mild spicy--and definitely not Thai spicy, because we know better! There were a couple other things we wanted to try but we didn't want to overdo it with just the two of us. The food came out fast. First the Drunken Noodles, and wow... that was ono. The thick, chewy noodles reminded me a little of a chow/look fun, tossed in a a sauce with tender beef. Every bite was packed with flavor. Next came the Thai Beef Salad and the Thai Fried Chicken. The salad had that classic tangy dressing with vinegar and fish sauce that paired perfectly with the beef. If I had one small kine suggestion, it would be to add just a little more beef, but the flavors were on point. The fried chicken was cooked to crispy perfection--lightly seasoned so you could actually taste the chicken. Dipped into the Thai sweet chili sauce, you know the one, it was the perfect combination of crunchy, savory, and sweet. Even though we were pretty full, there was no way we were not going to order dessert. We shared the Mango Sticky Rice, which was the perfect sweet and tart ending to a great meal. Last but not least, one Thai iced coffee to go. Yeah it's late but wanted to stay up and binge watch a couple of episodes of a K-drama, don't judge. Overall, Siam Garden Café delivered. Great food, friendly service, quick turnaround, and now with later Sunday hours, it's an even better option when those late-night Thai cravings hit. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.

We arrived shortly before 11:30am, and thankfully we were seated immediately (in a booth!) as there was only 1 group dining (this would be the antithesis when we departed as the restaurant was packed after 12:00pm). We got settled in our booth and looked over the menu. Collectively, we ordered/shared: Spicy Eggplant Pad Thai with shrimp Papaya Salad Siam Jungle Curry with chicken Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce I honestly couldn't decide which dish was my favourite, as I thought they were all a generous portion and flavorful. My mom complimented the eggplant and steamed fish repeatedly, and while I also favoured the eggplant, I found myself gravitating to the curry throughout the meal. My SIL also liked the fish and eggplant, while my brother had many good things to say about the pad Thai. We did take some leftovers home, and as we packed up the food I wondered to myself why I hadn't returned to SGC sooner. SERVICE The staff friendly, patient, and very polite.
