    Medium Pho with tendon
    Ross T.

Located on the corner of Smith Street & Hotel street in downtown Chinatown. We went there to try the spicy clay pot with pork which was recommended by a friend. My wife ordered her normal when we go to eat at any Vietnamese restaurant the pho with tendon, which when it came I tried the broth and it was on the sweeter side and seemed it was more watery then flavorful which she agreed the broth didn't have the body of a good pho. The spicy pork ribs were okay, but it wasn't spicy, but had a nice flavor. The service is slow and if you don't let them know, you can sit there for a while before anyone comes back to check on your table. They have only street meter parking or public parking. Restroom was okay they have men & women restrooms.

Great spot for a late-night bite in downtown Honolulu, especially since not many places stay open past 9pm. Their vermicelli bowl is fire! I ordered mine with grilled pork and a spring roll, and it was so good. Prices are unbeatable for the portion size and quality, and the food feels very authentic. Definitely a go-to in the area!

I've been coming here with my family ever since I was a child. My dad grew up in Vietnam and this is one of his favorite go-to Vietnamese places in Chinatown. The menu at this place genuinely can't be beat. It has everything: pho, bánh mì, vermicelli dishes, even Thai dishes and hot pot! The prices are very reasonable and I haven't found a single thing here I didn't like yet. When I'm feeling fancy I always go for #61 (vermicelli with grilled pork and fresh herbs, mam bún cha Hà Nội ). It comes in a beautiful plate and always hits the spot! Their Vietnamese iced coffee (#3, ca phê sữa đá) is also the best Vietnamese iced coffee I think you can find on this island. The servers are always super welcoming and love to help me learn more Vietnamese. This is one of my favorite places in Chinatown and I really hope it gets the love it deserves.

Tried Pho Vietnam on a Friday evening. Walked in solo and was greeted with a smile and sat at a shared table that already had a couple sitting at. Menu is full of a variety of Vietnamese dishes that looked great. I had my mind set on Pho and ordered the Pho with short rib and a side of egg rolls. The pho was delicious. Broth was very tasty, so much so I did not add any sriracha which is my norm for pho. Ribs were nice, tender and fell off the bone. The rolls with crispy and tasty with a nice array of accompaniments. The restaurant is a nicer mom and pop feel, very comfortable.

Service was excellent and the Pho was perfect! The large Pho was much larger portion than I expected given the low price, it easily could've fed 2 people. The restaurant was very clean and not too loud even tho it was a busy day.

I'm from Los Angeles where there's a lot of very good Vietnamese places around where I live. Pho Vietnam really surprised us with how authentic their broths tasted especially for Hawaii. I first tried the pho (I was hungover) and I was able to stomach the entire bowl. The other girls in my group ordered the BBH. it was so good that we ended up going back for lunch right before our flight. I ordered the bun rieu just to try it because I prefer bun rieu over BBH. it's solid, but I would still say their BBH was the tastiest out of the 3. Service was good/quick. Now I know where to eat good Vietnamese food when I visit Oahu again!

Had their Bun Bo Hue, pretty good. Good ingredients and tender meats, flavor had depth, good spice level. I'm hoping to try their other dishes next time. It's a spot where I saw a lot of Asians were dining at, also it's recommended by an acquaintance of mine who's Vietnamese, so there must be a reason? Also love how they have a whole page of vegan selections! That's amazing! I'll try some of those next time too. Hopefully it's good. The service was friendly. The food also came pretty quickly. The restaurant was quite spacious and there were maybe 15-20 tables inside. It drew quite a bit lunch crowd during the week. I can't imagine how it's like during the weekend!

Large seating area. Seated immediately. Service was very good. I had Oxtail Pho and it was amazing. I would definitely come back.

Got started before taking g a photo. Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup-$18). Delicious and full of flavor!

Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with large menu that offer dishes not found in many other restaurants such as hot pot and meat plates that you make spring rolls with. I ordered bun bo hue and it was very good; lots of lemongrass flavor which I love. Service was quick and restaurant had a good crowd for early morning. We saw working people coming for early lunch so I bet it gets very busy around lunchtime. This restaurant is in Chinatown so there's lots to browse around before or after your meal.

Never coming back again if I see that lady working.

The lady in picture claimed to be the manager, combined two 4 seaters table for a part of 8 people that came after everyone on the sign up list. She even came out to confirm that we had 4 people in front of the 8. Never coming back again if I see that lady working.

Pho Vietnam Our Forever Pho Spot! Hands down, my all-time favorite place for crab noodle soup (pho)! I've been coming here so often with my son and friends it's our go-to spot for comfort food and good vibes. The crab noodle soup is next level flavorful, rich, and full of love. I'm also obsessed with their fresh spring rolls, nem, and summer rolls so refreshing and tasty. Don't skip the Vietnamese coffee or the house mixed drink with dried longan (I forget the name but it's so good!). The service is always kind and welcoming. We're treated like regulars every time. The atmosphere is cozy and easygoing nothing fancy, just that familiar, homey feel that makes you want to keep coming back. Every visit is a happy one. Always delicious, always satisfying. Support your local pho spot you won't regret it!

This, however, will probably be my first and last visit. The place is cute enough, with a large back garden area where I chose to dine. Service was also great. I appreciate the little button at the table that I could click for service. The food, however, was mediocre at best. My friend and I ordered the pad Thai with tofu, ginger chicken, chicken satay, and pork larb. The pad Thai was the best dish, but it was very tomatoey, which I did not expect. The chicken with ginger had very little chicken. It was mostly julienned vegetables, including celery which I do not care for. The chicken satay was kinda dry and most certainly needed the peanut sauce to make it palatable. The larb was very dry with very bland flavor, served on one lettuce leaf and a wedge of cabbage. How am I supposed to eat that? All of it was quite disappointing, especially for the price point. As I was eating this meal I remembered the Thai food truck at the end of Ward, where Fisherman's Pier used to be. Now THAT was some good Thai food. I guess that was the best thing about this meal-remembering where I could get really good Thai food-so that the next time I'm having a craving, I can go back over there...I hope it's still there.

I just looked today and it is now closed until June 5. Maybe they are doing renovations. We came for Mother's Day. I was a little nervous because it's been years since we have eaten here and it appeared to look like a lot of tourists eating here. I'm Thai and I was wondering if I was going to be disappointed. I remember the food being OK so I kept an open mind. I decided to order something I normally would not which is the clay pot crab with glass noodles. it was OK. The crab didn't have a huge prominent taste and glass noodles are just meh to me. We also ordered the crab fried rice which was exceptional. I would definitely order that again. There was so much flavor in the rice. I also ordered a yum salad with tofu. That was also good. I loved the chili lime dressing and the added cilantro made it taste even more fresh. The lettuce leaves were huge though. I'm not sure why they were the size of a hamburger patty. It made for eating the salad challenging and messy. My kid had the salmon curry. She loved it. She doesn't handle spice so she asked for a level 2. Level two was spicy for her but she was able to eat it. Being Thai I did not feel it was spicy at all. But it did have a little bit of heat. The Mr ordered the crispy garlic chicken. It was a huge plate of it. He said it was good. He also ordered beef masuman. I will say that the portion seemed tiny. He said it was also good. I actually was pleasantly surprised this time around as I remember coming years ago and it was just OK. About the music. I did read lots of comments about their music Choice. It's not classical but jazz. To my astonishment it was extremely loud. The music Choice was not the issue but the loudness of it. I'm not sure if they tried to make it loud to sound like live music or not. We couldn't even talk to each other because we would've ended up shouting. That's really our only complaint.

It was a bit chewy and didn't match the quality of the noodles. The seafood tom yum was the biggest letdown. The broth itself was flavorful, but the seafood selection felt like a frozen mix rather than fresh ingredients. The mussels were already removed from their shells, the squid was chewy, and the soup included canned mushrooms instead of fresh ones, along with fish cakes and fish balls. It lacked the freshness I was hoping for. Overall, I left feeling that the proteins were the weakest part of the meal. The flavors, service, and atmosphere were all enjoyable, but the quality of the meat and seafood didn't quite stand out. That said, it's still a solid Thai restaurant, especially considering the options in Hawaii. Would I come back? I'm on the fence, but probably not

After a recent visit to Siam Garden Cafe, I thought I would post a brief update/review:…read more I ventured to SGC with my mom, brother, and SIL last month for lunch (on a Saturday, no less). We arrived shortly before 11:30am, and thankfully we were seated immediately (in a booth!) as there was only 1 group dining (this would be the antithesis when we departed as the restaurant was packed after 12:00pm). We got settled in our booth and looked over the menu. Collectively, we ordered/shared: Spicy Eggplant Pad Thai with shrimp Papaya Salad Siam Jungle Curry with chicken Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce I honestly couldn't decide which dish was my favourite, as I thought they were all a generous portion and flavorful. My mom complimented the eggplant and steamed fish repeatedly, and while I also favoured the eggplant, I found myself gravitating to the curry throughout the meal. My SIL also liked the fish and eggplant, while my brother had many good things to say about the pad Thai. We did take some leftovers home, and as we packed up the food I wondered to myself why I hadn't returned to SGC sooner. SERVICE The staff friendly, patient, and very polite. BOTTOM LINE We will certainly be back.

Here's some logistics if you're a planner like me: Parking: Free, it's tight right in front of the restaurant and additional parking inside the garage. The vibes inside are very cozy and feels like home, just overall very special. Can accommodate large groups and a small one on one date :) Food comes out fast, takes about 10 minutes. Fairly delicious, fairly priced and then you're on your way home with your Costco groceries! The Thai tea here is very yummy. I'd recommend getting mild for any of the dishes here if you're not a fan of spicy. They're authentic so you'll feel it otherwise. Service is fast and attentive. Very straightforward. I'm giving it a 3 overall since it did the job but I've had a lot better at Brok Da Mout Thai Food. It's better than Bangkok Thai nearby that's for sure.
