Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... The entrance of Ying's Thai Cuisine is actually on Keeaumoku Street. I parked a block away and walked over. (I asked my server about parking and she said that they don't have any in the building.) The interior is modern, elegant, and very well air-conditioned. Restroom key is available... I'm not sure how far away it is. Service was prompt and friendly. The worker helpfully asked if I wanted to order rice with my curry. Thanks for your thoughtfulness! She also warned me that the right side of the room is cold... she's correct! She did check up on me a couple of times and offered me more water. I had the Yellow Curry (with potatoes and carrots). I wanted "zero spice", but there was some kick to it. I ate up all of the rice and took some of the pork, carrots, and potatoes home. I also got beef Pad See Ew to go. Two of use only ordered three things . All was a hit !! Pad Thai was yummy , larb was tasty and very soft , and the omelette was good not great only because I prefer my eggs a little runny and not overly cooked, so it was a too dry for me . I would still ordered it again tho because of the crab . Just not for the eggs haha. The service was really good. We came an hour before closing but she was very sweet and accommodating!! Also refil our waters without us calling because my friend couldn't handle the spices. I have to say one of the best on the island . Portions is nice to share as well. My only feedback is their lighting. Very harsh blinding light in the dinner time depending on the table you sit at. I had to ask if I could move because of the lighting . This new place opened about 2 months ago in the former Honolulu hotpot spot. I just found street parking or parked over at Azure. But must say the dishes were a tad salty, bit smaller than expected and definitely not as pictured. And quite pricey. Service was good but took awhile but I am guessing it's because they are still getting the hang of things. Especially their dish featuring fried thousand year old eggs with basil...it only came with ONE whole egg. (Two halves) The picture had at least 3 whole eggs... Fried tofu - tofu didn't have any flavor so you must rely on the peanut sauce for flavor Garlic spare ribs - it only had like 10/11 pieces Pad see you - you can choose other proteins so we picked beef. First thing I ate on ground in hawaii and it was phenomenal. Great green curry. so good. It had a little heat to it without asking for spice. I also had the sautéed cabbage. Really nice food truck maybe 1-2 minute walk away from a number of hotels. It is open late so a great place to get food if you are hungry in the evening. It does get very busy and takes a long time for food to be ready, so prepare to wait. You can also call I. Orders ahead of time. They do charge extra for card, so bring cash. As we were looking down the street at the food trucks, a worker was telling us he really liked the food at the Thai Truck. He has been to Thailand and thought the noodles and curry were very authentic. When our driver was dropping us off at our hotel, he said he heard the Thai Truck had good noodles but didn't have time to try it out yet. A couple work in the truck. We ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai from the wife. It took about 7 minutes. The husband cleaned the wok, threw ingredients into the wok, stir fried everything, and then poured it all into a box. No tables or chairs so we took it back up to our hotel room. The noodles were still warm. The pad Thai flavor is there. The noodles were a bit softer/mushier than we are use to but otherwise it's good pad Thai. See the Pad Thai picture for ingredients. We had a big lunch earlier so we weren't that hungry but we wanted to try the noodles. For $14 plus tax, it's cheaper than a sit down Thai Restaurant. For convenience, it's awesome! read more

Unassuming food truck parked on the side of the street. We came here because our in-laws were raving about it. My first impression was that the man taking our order was not very friendly. I had to wait for a while before I was helped and when I was helped, it felt like I was bothering him. Waited a bit for our food, probably around 20 minutes for one order of pad see ew, but it was pretty busy, which I took as a good sign, not to mention it was a holiday weekend, so we didn't mind waiting on the curb on this nice night. This is a food truck very close to some big hotels. So it's all about access. However, they just take too much advantage of tourists. The food was ok. Chicken, however, was very stiff. Shrimp was better. Spent $47. Asked for a bowl for the soup and she wanted a dollar for each. Got a fork per dinner plate, no extra. And for a $17 entry cashew chicken we did not get steamed rice with it. So for $47 a family of 4 still starved that night. This truck was right outside our hotel. It was absolutely the best Pad Thai I have ever tried in my life. So good. The noodles were perfectly cooked. And while I do like spicy, I do not love a spciy Pad Thai and this was perfect. The chicken was tender. We had this twice while we were here. The food truck game in Hawaii is strong, I am very jealous. We do not have food this amazing that comes out of a truck near me. They seem to cook it all fresh to order. They are open only at night. I was hesitant kn patronizing this place because it's located in an alley behind the Hyatt where we stayed. We are locals, and doing a staycation for winter break. The hot was very uncomfortable for me to eat. The medium was only half a notch down of spice. I haven't had the mild but I would suggest the average person to go for the mild. It came with 7 pieces of shrimp that were average size but it didn't taste fresh to me. Maybe I've been spoiled by the best pad Thai I've ever had which is in Maui. It's a food truck right outside the Maui coast hotel. The portions here were not comparable to the huge portions there. The person taking my order was friendly. Make sure to ask for utensils and pay cash unless you want an extra 4.5% charge added on for credit cards. My total for two..$30. Would I come back? They make the spring rolls themselves and even though it's vegetarian, I don't mind cause it's perfectly golden & crunchy with that epic sweet Thai chili sauce. Honestly pretty good for the price especially since Waikiki is so expensive! The food truck is located in an alley with other trucks. We got a beef pad thai ($12), beef penang curry ($12), and rice ($2). The credit card prices are 4% higher than the cash prices I listed. We split the 2 entrees amongst 3 people and were full after! The beef penang could have been a little thicker, but was flavorful. The medium was spicy for both the penang and pad thai. You may want to call in your order as it can take 15-30 minutes for them to prepare your order. read more
