Last minute late lunch today, and we were not disappointed. The shrimp and lemongrass soup was amazing. Red Curry dish was tasty and comforting. Lots of raw onions added to salad and beef appetizer. Without question the best Thai restaurant in the area. The owners treat the regulars like members of their family. The food is delicious!!! Having just spent the month of May in Bangkok Thailand, I feel justified in saying that this restaurant provides you with not only a delicious Thai meal but excellent service as well. The Tom Ka Gai soup was as good as if not better than some of the offerings in Bangkok itself. I say this because in Thailand they are not as prone to removing bones or grissle from a soup or stew, and this restaurant seems to take the American tastes into account and removes them leaving you with select slices of tender chicken without the annoying surprise of a hidden bone. Their Pahd Sea -Ewe was also another very pleasant surprise. I ordered it with pork and , I am still basking in the afterglow of havimg had a good genuine Thai meal. The service was attentive and immediate, up to and including the sincerest of Thai smiles. The only thing that could have made the meal more authentic Thai would have been giving me a big spoon instead of a fork for my Pahd Sea-Ewe. That is how it is done in Thailand. Found this spot by accident when we were in Geneva for something else but needed to eat lunch. The restaurant is small and has a family ownership feel - do not be put off by the noisy tv programs, just tune them out. The food was excellent. I had the fried tofu appetizer with cucumber and crushed peanuts. This was some of the best fried tofu I've had - dense, flavorful with a nice crust, but not greasy at all. My entree was tofu with spicy peppers, straw mushrooms, Thai basil and onions. The dish was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat to order - I went with medium heat - and again nothing was greasy or drowning in sauce. My other half had spicy seafood soup to start and the Pad See Eew with chicken. He said they were both wonderful with loads of flavor and the right amount of spice. We would definitely go again - the food is well worth a repeat visit. read more

Their prices are also very reasonable, and have not gone up in the years that I have been going here. This location is perfect, right downtown in Geneva. It is the ideal place to get lunch after spending the day walking third street. The owners are also very nice. Was there years ago, and the restaurant hasn't changed, still dirty looking. Family owned. The old man was somewhat rude. The atmosphere was awful. The food was very good. I would never go there again and never recommend it to anyone. When I went to pay with my credit card, the waitress asked to pay the tip in cash. I had no extra cash and they had to accept it on the credit card. This probably violates their agreement with the credit card companies. What is more concerning, are they trying to hide income from the IRS? Since there are no other Thai places in Geneva, they survive. Used to frequent this place often and thought the food was pretty good. Service is sometimes too slow and if it's busy, then it's really slow because they do only seem to have one gal taking orders. Normally, before today, I'd give this restaurant 4 stars, but I CANNOT STAND when I go into a business and they ask me if I have cash instead of paying with a debit/credit card. If you want to sneak money under the table and not report it to the IRS or if you don't want to pay the credit card transaction fees, then don't offer to take cards AT ALL. Amazing authentic Thai food! Great prices especially considering the freshness and quality. We have tried most of the menu and never had a bad dish. It is a small family run hole in the wall kind of place but that doesn't matter once the food arrives. I have never eaten any other Thai food that measures up to Bangkok! These are not Americanized versions of dishes. We have been going here for over 15 years and have NEVER had bad or rude service. The food is what brings my entire family back time and time again. I don't know why people are complaining about the service, I think some people expect to be treated like royalty sometimes! Ordered takeout from Bangkok the other night and we were terribly disappointed. My husband and I each ordered the tofu pad thai- my absolute favorite dish. I have eaten this same dish at nearly a dozen different restaurants around the country and this version was by far the worst. The tofu was completely flavorless and undercooked, and the noodles were extremely dry and also without much flavor at all... so much so that I thought they must have forgotten to add some ingredients. It was a serious bummer to dig into my fave dish to find it in such a sad state. The other items we purchased were better- the Thai-style egg rolls were tasty and the chicken fried rice was approved by the children. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. Great authentic food and love that you can customize the amount of spice on their dishes and I'm a spicy kind of girl.. Lol The place is tiny but service is great and I'm a big fan of seeing grandma in the kitchen cooking so you can't get any more authentic than that! Again just my observation; seems to be the smaller the place the better the food?! I don't see how they get four stars. It smells musty and moldy. The staff is aloof. I ordered 2 apps and I've had much better elsewhere, but my entree was horrible. Squid smelled. The rice had no flavor and seemed old and reheated. The other entrees were not fresh looking or tasting at our table. BYOB did not appeal to us . I came here for lunch today with a coworker. I had the Pad See Ew which was without a doubt one of the best Thai noodle dishes I have ever had. I asked for it spicy and the dish packed some heat, but not enough to make it overpowering or overwhelm the other flavors in the dish. The chinese broccoli was fresh and the noodles were perfect- just cooked through but still with a bit of chewiness. I expect this place to be a frequent lunch destination! read more

Every time I come back to town I factor in a visit to Bangkok. This is the bar that I set for all thai restauraunts. I have never ordered anything off the menu that was anything less than excellent. If you are in the mood for searing hot, you can get it. If you want medium, it hits the spot. Generous portions, inexpensive and excellent quality. I want to start out by saying that I like the gal who typically "runs" the place (She is not the owner). It's always clean and that younger gal is always ready with a smile. Usually we really like the food there, the place is clean and pricing is reasonable. Lately though it's been a little hit or miss. Sometimes the Basil fried rice w/chicken (my husbands usual order) is moist and tasty, but sometimes of late it's been kinda bland and dry. My "usual" dish is Pad Thai and I used to love getting the shrimp pad Thai but there were a couple of times I don't think the shrimp was very fresh and it didn't "agree" with me. Just to be on the safe side, I've gone to getting the chicken Pad Thai. But again, as of late its been a bit hit or miss...sometimes it's moist and has nice flavor but sometimes it's just meh. I don't know if they have a different chef certain times of the day/evening and maybe that's the reason? I think overall it's fine, most of the time is a "hit," and I like to support local "mom and pop" business so I will continue to go. read more

Yuck! We got the spring rolls and they were OK but I would have rather had Sushi. The pad thai was bland and full of sprouts! I think there was more sprouts than noodles. My husband got the fried rice combo, very meaty tasty with very little fried rice taste. We will not eat there again. I would rather drive the extra 20 minutes for carry out from Vino Thai then eat there again. Price was good since we didn't like the food. read more
