I didn't have much of an expectation for the little store but was pleasantly surprised They are open late it was 10 pm and they were still open, big win on that department. We ordered two slices one of the Dulce de leche and a traditional slice. Both were creamy, not overwhelming sweet just the perfect balance and absolutely cheesy and fluffy and the creaminess was beyond perfection. This is one of the best cheesecakes I've had. If you like a heavy dense cheesecake this isn't it. The Dulce de leche wasn't overwhelmingly caramely but slight hints of it. There is an obvious difference though to the traditional. This is, hands down, the best cheesecake in the valley. I first visited about two weeks ago and have already demanded that no less than half a dozen of my friends also visit, and everyone is in agreement that Banham's is flat out amazing. My favorite thus far has been the lemon curd, which is delightfully tart, but everything I've tried has been fantastic. I love that it's neither super dense nor super sweet, and you don't feel physically ill after consuming it. You know who I'm throwin' shots at here. Seriously though, everything is so so so good here. I have very quickly become a regular, and I don't see that changing any time soon. This is an easy in and out sliced cheesecake place. The have a pretty good selection of different flavors and they also have seasonal favorites as well. I chose the lemon curd, and my husband had the dolce de Leche. The Lemon curd was sweet and tart just how I like, and it was a thin layer on top of the cheesecake. My husband said flavor of the cheesecake itself was pretty good. However, he felt the dolce de Leche was a little lacking wasn't caramel enough. Honestly this is one of those times where the Yelposphere let me down. I'm really disappointed because seeing Banham's has 5 solid stars with multiple reviews got me super excited to try it out. Plus cheesecake is my absolute favorite dessert! I actually live down near Scottsdale Fashion Square, so this was a bit out of my way. But I didn't care. I had to try it out! I actually happened to come across it in Yelp during their opening weekend, so I figured it was the perfect time to go. I was underwhelmed when I walked in. There was an associate approaching the case and she didn't greet me at all. I was excited so I tried to ask her some questions about the flavors. She'd answer in one word responses and seemed annoyed with me. Terrible customer service (especially for a grand opening weekend!) And mind you.... I was the ONLY customer in here. I could see if they were swamped and super busy. But there was no one else in here. She wasn't helpful at all. I asked if they had a peanut butter one and she said "not anymore." I asked her to describe the cheesecakes and I figured the Oreo one would be a good backup to Peanut Butter. I couldn't wait to devour my cheesecake later that night. But after digging in, I was underwhelmed. It's not sweet or creamy enough to deserve 5 stars. It's honestly very average cheesecake (at best) and the interaction with the employee makes them drop to 2 stars for me. Also, you could barely taste any Oreo. It just tasted like regular cheesecake with small sprinkling of cookies in every other bite. All told, not a fan. It was the day before I was set to have my baby and I needed a birthday treat to celebrate my husband and my baby in the hospital because they were about to be BIRTHDAY TWINS! How sweet is that? I had heard so many incredible things about Banham's and decided that it would be the birthday treat of choice. I ordered two slices; a slice of their Oreo and strawberry cheesecakes. They came in the cutest little boxes that made it easy to transport them in my hospital bag (and keep the surprise)! I froze them overnight and then by the time we were ready to celebrate the next afternoon, they were PERFECT! So creamy and decadent--definitely some of the best cheesecake that we've ever had! I love that you can pick up slices versus an entire cheesecake as well. It enables you to try multiple kinds! I brought candles and birthday napkins and it truly made for the most intimate, special celebrate with my husband and our newborn baby boy in the hospital. Yes, I agree with all the reviews and probably can't add too much, "new" to the conversation. I stopped by today and had the Coconut slice. Ummmm, yummmy!!!!!! I liked that it was lighter than most Cheesecakes. I find most Cheesecakes too heavy to enjoy more than a few bites. I will definitely come back and try the other types. They opened in January. Can you imagine right before Covid hit but I think they will be Okay. Is it weird that my inner NY came out over the fact that I got more excited with their hours than their dessert? TL:DR - Cheesecake is really fluffy, like REALLY fluffy. While I don't like dense cake either, I do wish this was a little more dense. The oreo cheese cake was lacking oreo. The oreo in it was primarily centralized in the crust. The tres leches cake didn't taste like much, but that's kind of on us in regards to that expectation. While I wasn't blown away by my visit, especially given the rave reviews already on here, I do think this place warrants another try. --------------------------------------------- When you're a small time outfit and literally serving just one thing on the menu, you need to REALLY good at it. While this place does get a ton of love, I myself wasn't in as much awe, but I do think that this was more of me not necessarily getting the right cheesecake? Maybe? The cheesecake itself is very light and way more fluffy than dense. While I'm not the biggest fan of the really dense cheese cake, this one was a little too much on the fluffy side for me. Almost crumbly. It's more a preference than an issue with quality or anything else. The other thing is that we got the Oreo cheese cake and tres leches cheese cake. Oreo anything is usually a winner for me, but this barely had any oreo in it. I was hoping for big oreo chunks in the middle of my cheesecake, but really it's just tiny specks here in there with an oreo crust and a chocolate top. The tres leches cake didn't taste like much, but when the cake itself is really just three types of milk and you're eating a cheese cake, it's hard to really fault us for expecting anything crazy. That being said, I haven't completely written it off, the red velvet cakes looks amazing as well as the coconut cake. So while the first visit wasn't the best, it wasn't enough to prevent me from coming back for another chance to try the other slices. read more

Ok, all the great reviews are right. We tried the brownie, banana cream, and lemon flavors and holy smokes. The lemon was INSANE, so good and the tart from the lemon wasn't overwhelming with the tart you normally get from cheesecake, very well balanced. The brownie though is my favorite!! I love, love, love brownie and cheesecake but it's almost always way too sweet for me. The brownie used is delicious but doesn't overwhelm the cheesecake and they just marry so beautifully.
