I had to follow up four times because they kept sending the prescription to the wrong location. I should have known they were incompetent. The front desk girls gave me the wrong paper and also included someone else's information, and Driver license to me . I had to tell them this is t me - laughing and goofing off the entire time. Every time I called, it was so unprofessional. I can still hear them laughing and having side conversations which highly likely why they got it incorrect multiple times. It's horrible. When we first walked in, reception greeted us right away and was genuinely friendly. We had set an appointment the night before, so check-in was quick and easy. After that, we were taken back for his vitals and then moved into another room, and that's where I really noticed how thorough they were. I've honestly never had an urgent care be this attentive. They didn't rush anything, made sure every concern was actually addressed, and kept us informed the whole time. They were quick, communicative, and incredibly kind throughout the entire visit. I was recently hit by a car, and dealing with doctors and scheduling appointments lately has been nothing but rude interactions and people acting like they don't care. So coming here was a breath of fresh air. Even if you're busy, customer service still matters -- and this team absolutely delivered. Overall, I'm very pleased with our visit. I had an appt secured for 9:40 am today. I received email and text confirmations and I just got one now. The issue....they're closed. There's an old sign on the door and no one is there. Google says open, and the customer contact phone number on the urgent care website for customer care isn't the right area. They're trying to help me because I keep getting texts saying to check in and my appt might not be held but there's literally no one here and the doors are both locked. Another patient came to be seen too and was disappointed it's closed. When we have truly urgent issues and we schedule an appt and the site is closed and we could be charged for "not checking in" that's a huge issue. Now I need to find another "in network" option for my urgent health matter. This is unacceptable and inexcusable. The sign on the door isn't even valid for today. It's the morning. Update: I was told by Banner customer care to call this location tomorrow. That's more time wasted on something that shouldn't have happened. I got another text saying I didn't make my appt and I'd be removed from the queue. Again, not true. It's insulting to get a text like that when this is 100% the clinic and management's error. Now I had to find which other urgent care wasn't too delayed, set up a new time, drive there, waste more time and money when resources are valuable and expensive these days on top of having a painful urgent issue. The ER isn't a proper alternative either. Additionally I saw people continue to get out of their vehicles trying to go in for their time slots and turning away, including two parents and their small son. I went to Banner Urgent Care at Southern and McClintock on November 19, 2025. I had the worst healthcare experience I have ever had, and that is saying something. The nurse practitioner (if that was her credential, she never introduced herself) had to have the worst "bedside manner" of any healthcare practitioner I have ever encountered. She acted as if it was a bother that I was inconveniencing her by presenting myself for care. I went for a cold and she told me to go home and take an antihistamine with no suggestion of specifics, even though I told her I was already doing that and it wasn't working. She kept asking me what I "was worried about" since I insisted on more information (which I didn't get). I must have been a real bother to her. She was rude and dismissive. She should not be in the healthcare profession, although her behavior is all too common, I've experienced. I came to this location after another Tempe location did not open on time so my "reservation" was not honored. The desk assistant was pleasant and efficient. I was checked in quickly and escorted to a room with a few minutes of waiting. This was great and kept me out of the waiting room, even though there was no one there. The waiting room chairs are socially distanced (probably more than 6 ft. apart). It was spotless as well. Masks are still required (yay!). I waited a maybe 10 minutes before the PA arrived. She checked me out, did a quick procedure, prescribed an antibiotic and I was on my way. They could restaff the facility with competent knowledgeable office and medical personnel. It was better as a children's facility . Back then they had the same overall staff for years with friendly experienced providers. BUT if staffing is an issue, then CLOSE it. The current crew are walking around going through the motions but are simply useless. Four days ago I went for a simple test and waited an hour and a half before they called my name. The provider finally came in and did his thing . He told me what he thought was wrong and said he would write a prescription and send it to the pharmacy right across the street The next day I called the pharmacy who said they did not get the script. So I had to drive back to the facility, pick up a paper copy and take it to the pharmacy myself. That was another two hours of time . Then 3 days later, still sick feeling wobbly, cold and downright bad. the urgent care calls and said I did not have what the provider said. So I asked, "what was it, do I keep taking the meds, what do I do now? " The rep simply responded, "I don't know. It's not written in the paper work." They didn't care that I have a family to care for and could barely get out a bed.,Didn't even try to come up with some suggestions to fix their mistake. I reserved a spot online for 11:45, I showed up 10 min early as requested and I was out of the office by 12:05 with a doctor note and all my prescriptions sent to the pharmacy. They were very fast, listened to my concerns and addressed them properly. I was seen by Davina Grant, NP and she was great and got straight to the point. On 5/14/24, my adult daughter's reg doctor couldn't see her for a few days, she had felt ill for 3 days, so she decided to go to urgent care so she could make sure she wasn't contagious before she went back to work. I'm not gonna lie, I yelped several urgent cares and they all had low ratings. I also work in customer service so I know the majority of people only post/rate when they are mad, so I do take it with a grain of salt. This one I chose because it was a Banner and because they could get her in today. Very easily made an appointment for this afternoon. Came in and ahead was immediately greeted very professionally and nicely by the woman at admitting. I had brought a book to read because I assumed since we were coming to Urgent Care, there would be a wait. At the time we came in we didn't wait very long at all. I started reading my book while she went back and don't even know if I got through an entire chapter. She got a strep test that was negative so they gave her some antibiotics and let her know she wasn't contagious to go to work, which was her concern. As we left, and I noticed as everyone left, the front desk always stopped what they were doing and said goodbye and I hope you feel better. Very good experience here. Disclaimer: (1) I'm a physician (2) I actually work at Banner Desert. No, I did not tell them this because I usually don't "pull rank". I came because I got a bee sting that has become infected, and needed to get antibiotics on a Sunday. I initially tried to make a telehealth appointment, but of course the system didn't work, and I kept getting told to call customer service (who don't work on a Sunday anyway) and so I rescheduled an appointment at this location in person. The front desk was lovely and efficient. I was seen by Irene, one of the nurse practitioners. Like I said, I did not tell her I was a physician and she was extremely condescending, did not listen at all, and I'm surprised she didn't just pay me on the head with "it's not an infection, dear, it's just an allergy". She made no attempt to review my past medical history or ask me, or I would have told her I had diabetes before she gave me a dose of steroids (she came in afterwards to say "you have diabetes? You need to check your blood sugars.). I told her I have a history of mrsa cellulitis which failed outpatient therapy and require inpatient hospitalization - completely blew it off. I'm already messaging my PCP asking her to call in antibiotics in the morning. Unfortunately the average person who doesn't know what they have are not goin to be so lucky at this location. read more

Came here with a broken arm. Had a great experience, everyone was nice and friendly. I was here for about an hour. I would recommend this place and wound come back If needed. Reading other people's reviews, I'm surprised how much people expect from an urgent care facility. Try going to your own doctor if you don't want to pay for immediate help, and you should expect a wait.... you never know what is going on behind closed doors. If the staff feels like you have a life threatening emergency they will see you right away, so you may have to wait if it's not that bad. Overall great experience. read more

I was charged $75 since my insurance card doesn't have a listed copay/coinsurance amount on it. They could call and verify coverage like any other doctors office I've been to, but instead they take the $75 as a holding payment. My insurance processed the claim within 2 weeks of my visit and finalized an EOB which says I owe a grand total of $1.83. It's been 2 months and I have yet to receive a statement from Banner, or see a reimbursement of my $75. I've called twice now, the first time my name was misspelled so they couldn't find my account, the second time my date of birth was 'off by a couple days.' Are you kidding me? You took a photocopy of my ID and insurance card, and I have meticulous handwriting. I was told my account is going back to review again to verify my information; and I can call back in another 7-10 days. Maybe then I can get my $75 refunded. The care team was fine; not super professional but it's urgent care what do you expect. But this ongoing issue with billing is enough to prevent me from ever going back to a Banner Urgent Care. read more

This is the last time my wife or I will ever darken the doors of this facility again. My wife came here this evening for treatment of a yeast infection that she acquired. This is a recurring thing for her. Normally, at this location, she gets 3 doses of Diflurcan for this kind of ailment, but the Nurse Practitioner T. Allen, was only willing to prescribe 2. Concerned that this would not be enough, my wife asked why she was only getting two rather than the usual three. Allen responded that the Urgent Care clinic was not a primary care facility, and that for a full dose, she would have to go to one. She also added, with some attitude, that she was "being nice" even giving her two. My wife felt humiliated by this--she is in pain and needs relief, and can't even get adequate treatment for our money because of some Banner directive to file customers into primary care offices if they want more than minimal treatment for an ailment. Allen didn't even offer my wife a cream to soothe her sore skin. This is really fucked up, and is indicative of the steady decline of quality of service that I have seen at this location. I welcomed the opening of this office a few years ago, but I intend to avoid this place from here on. I would suggest that you do the same. Take a look at the other bad reviews for this pit-- there are alternatives. They may be further away, but for the sake of quality of service, it's worth it. read more

Worst urgent care I have ever been to... and I didn't even check in! I arrived a little before 8:30pm on Friday night. This location closes at 9pm. The lady at the check in desk told me the doctor is leaving right at 9pm. There were four people in line in front of me. I figured it would be best to go to a different location. I ended up going to a different Banner Urgent care that was about 10 minutes away. I was talking to the check in lady at the second location and mentioned that they were making patients leave at 9pm no matter what. She said that the doctor is required to see the patient even if they walk in at 8:58pm. She also told me that this location has had a history of this behavior. She kindly called someone (I assume management or a supervisor) to report it. Don't waste your time at this location. Go somewhere else where the employees actually care about there jobs. read more

My wife had a fall and needed stitches and ended up with Frankenstein staples and now an infection. The wound was not cleaned out correctly and I could see that gravel was still stuck in there. I'm so upset with this clinic. Her knee is infected she went back they confirmed the infection and nurse practitioner gave her another set of antibiotics and send her home. Showed up at 8:58 thinking this was a 24 hour urgent care, well I was wrong. I saw the girl behind the desk on her cell phone jump up quickly to turn off the open signs as I was getting my daughter out of the car. When a young child is having difficulty breathing you don't turn them away. My job is much less important than URGENT care and I still take care of anyone that comes in right before closing because that's what good customer service is all about. I have been to this urgent care a few years ago as well and it was another bad experience. I only came to this one because my child wasn't breathing well and it was the closest location to my house. If the staff truly cared they would have at least checked her oxygen levels before locking the doors on us. We'll never go again. I have been dealing with this pain for 2 weeks now and already been treated for the wrong thing at another clinic. On their website they have an entire page dedicated to the importance of thorough blood testing. My wife and I asked for a full blood panel with cholesterol and thyroid. After being treated with an unbelievable level of disrespect and asked repeatedly "well is anything wrong with you? Then why are you getting this test done?" The physician finally agreed to do the tests we requested. Their turn around was speedy, credit where credit is due. My results were back in 3 days (Saturday-Tuesday). However when they called and informed me of my results they simply said "your cholesterol is at XXX" and got me off the phone as fast as possible. After looking into the testing levels I discovered that my number was borderline on being alarmingly high, something they did not even mention to me. I called back for further questions regarding the LDL vs HDL and was informed that they did not have the break down, just the total number. I asked about my thyroid number and they gave it to me with no explanation and informed me that was all the information they had. Save your money. Unless you are dying just wait it out and see your physician. It's clear that this is an extreme case of corporatized healthcare with no thought given to patient well being or quality of service. Went here during my lunch break (due to close proximity) and will never, ever EVER go back. Ever. This was 2 or 3 months ago, maybe? You see, I had a headache that would not flee my cabeza, despite Aleve, Tylenol, Advil, or ice pack/rest, etc. In fact, the stubborn head pain was going on 2 full days, and I started feeling nauseous and sensitive to light, smells, sounds. I also started to see tiny little stars if I moved my head "too fast" which in reality, was barely moving. I consulted Google on all of this. Google results yielded signs pointing at a migraine. Migraine? This would explain the OTC-resistant pain. So, I drove my myself over to the clinic (donning sunglasses because even sun behind clouds was way too bright). I only wait 10-15 minutes in their waiting room which was smelled of a very strong and aggressive Pine-Sol. Or, maybe the cheap, Mexican brand, Fabuloso. Anyways, the overly-dominant scent angered my head pain further. I slumped down further in the pleather chair and scowled. I go back to a room, and the PA knocks and walks in. I can't remember her name, but her overall body language and tone of voice wasn't appreciated by me, bc I felt like she didn't believe me. She asked me questions regarding symptoms of migraines. Some I had, some I didn't and I told her so. I mean, why would I be untruthful? What's the point? Maybe she didn't like the fact I didn't happen to have all symptoms of the classic migraine, and therefore concluded that I must be a drug seeker that is wasting her time!! As the questioning increased, I started feeling like a meth-head or heroin junkie sitting there. It was almost like when I told her I did have a certain symptom and further elaborated on small details, she wanted to ask, "Are you sure?". I didn't like feeling uncomfortable and honestly almost got up and left - even though my head hurt so bad. But, I did stay and kept telling myself that it shouldn't be much longer. Fast fwd about 20-30 minutes, prescription for Imitrex in hand and $30 copay coughed out, I flew the coop fast. And will not be returning. **NOTE: I am convinced that I did have a migraine truly, as my headache vanished within 15 min of swallowing an Imitrex. read more

My daughter in law went to this urgent care because her new pcp that she has yet to see referred her to go there to get medication and labs drawn before her appt today and said how rude the staff was from start to finish. She had her thyroid removed due to cancer and they had enough nerve to ask "Are you sure it was cancer.?" You are only here for medication?? I've used this place a few times in the past without issue, however tonight was the end of our relationship. Got into a minor fender bender right and was coming in to be seen. Called at 855p to clarify that the close at 9 and asked if they would see me if I got there before they closed. Receptionist said yes. I was at the door at 9pm. Locked. Called back and the receptionist said sorry, but they close the door at *exactly* 9pm. On the dot. I just have missed her standing by the open sign with her countdown timer. I was a few seconds too late and therefore they could not let me in to be seen, even though there was a gentleman in the waiting room who needed to be seen. Ridiculous.
