My husband and I are very happy with the work done by Banuelos Landscape company. They transformed our front and side yard into a beautiful and functional space. We worked with the business owner, Angel, throughout the entire process. During our consultation, I showed Angel a quick sketch of what I wanted and he provided a quote the next day. The quote was reasonable after shopping around a bit but what sold us was how easy it is to work with Angel. It would have been several months until they started the project, but in the meantime, Angel was kind enough to have the crew cut down the overgrown weeds for us. The actual project didn't take more than 5 full days. They installed pavers and turf exactly how I pictured it. Angel communicated with us regularly, and finished the job on budget. After the job was done, we noticed a defect with the turf. It was an awkward situation but Angel was able to problem solve and kept us informed of the warranty process. Professional, reasonable, personable, above all, Banuelos Landscape does fantastic work. I've had huge birds of paradise trimmed, and recently 6 trees removed with stumps ground out. Angel listened carefully to what I wanted, explained how he would work, and during the process continuously checked in with me on my satisfaction. It would have been faster and easier for Angel and his crew to mow down the trees all at once--instead he carefully cut back slowly so that I could decide up to the last limb if I wanted the entire stand removed. He also makes sure that the project is done, and done right. If he needs to go over and beyond what was promised, so that he's satisfied, he will. The work area is cleaned up completely. I haven't had masonry work done by Banuelos yet, but Angel showed me a bunch of photos and I know they'll be working on hardscape for me soon! read more

I needed a company that will put ficus plants in my front yard . I called them and right away Angel came and look at my front yard and did some measurements . He quoted me $6200 to put the plants to cover the entire side and front of the yard . I said I can't afford and how much will it be if just the front of the yard for now and he said $4100. I asked "why that much ?" Bc in my head it's basically planting about 25 Ficus plants and that was it . Now Angel explained to me and use exaggerated words to make me believe that this does not require only planting the plants in the soil and lining them up . They would have to redirect and sprinklers and change the valves if need be . So basically he made me believed that yes it's not just a simple job and so I said I'll think about it . I called and called different landscapers company , until I got a quote for $1000 for 25 ficus plants including redirecting and changing valves of my sprinklers . Please to homeowners like me , please please be careful to crooks out there who will overprice you and tell you exaggerated words and make you believe the price should be that much. I am happy I did not believe Angel. When you talk to him , yes he seems very knowledgeable of his work but he's not honest with the pricing . I understand that business should earn money of course but not fool and overly change people. That's not right. read more

We contacted Angel, and he responded right away. He came out during the Super Bowl to examine our yard and prepare for an estimate. We wanted his company to remove some citrus trees, remove a play structure (including the concrete anchors), remove some planters, install some concrete, repair the failing portion of a brick patio, and adjust and add to an existing irrigation system in the backyard. He was very confident and assured me that all of the work was easy for his company. "This is what we do," was typical of the responses he gave when I asked whether they could do certain things -- such as whether they could expand on the existing irrigation. For the most part, his work matched what he said he would do and the quality and details he said were so important to him. 1. Removal of citrus trees - great job here. 2. Removal of play structure -- mostly good, with one really upsetting exception. When I reinspected the work for this review, I found a sharp metal post sticking just above the soil line. After digging a bit, I realized that it was one of the metal support poles connected to a concrete anchor. Someone from Angel's crew cut corners big time here. Rather than dig it out and remove it, they just sawed off the metal pole at the soil line. It was at the back corner of our property, and they must have thought nobody would notice. It was left in an extremely dangerous state. I shudder to think what sort of damage would have been done if my 2 or 4 year old had fallen and hit this. As the head of this company, Angel should have inspected the work of his crew. He took responsibility for that when I shared what I found today. 3. Removal of planters and installation of concrete -- all good here. The concrete they laid looks great. 4. Repair portion of brick patio -- okay. They repaired a section of the patio. When I asked Angel how long we should stay off of it, he told me a few days. As he was saying this, one of his guys was standing on it, and our camera system showed members of the crew stepping on it frequently in the hours after the repair. Not surprisingly, it began to separate from the rest of the patio the next day. Angel took full responsibility for it, and his crew came out and repaired it. 5. Adjust and add on to irrigation system -- so so. Before agreeing to have him do the work, I asked him if our system could handle extra sprinklers, and he essentially said that because we had rotors, we must have good water pressure, so it would be no problem. After all of the work was done, it turned out that we didn't have sufficient water pressure to support the new sprinkler station. We had to pay an additional $3000 to our plumbers to extend a copper line from our water source to the irrigation system in the back. Had we known that it was going to cost an additional $3000, we probably wouldn't have tried to add the extra station. The mistake I see here is that our existing system/water pressure should have been inspected by him before he gave me a quote. As the expert, he should have done that. As the home owner, I should have ensured that he did. **Overall: Angel prides himself in being detail-oriented and providing high quality work. He works hard to have good communication with clients before, during, and after the work is done. I'm not sure what happened during our project. Maybe they were very busy. A lot of the work was done well, but there were a couple of major exceptions. Would I recommend using Angel's company? Maybe. It depends on what you need. I would recommend that you ensure that he thoroughly inspects the area that he'll be working on before giving you a quote. I would also recommend that you put it in the contract that you want a day or two to thoroughly inspect all work before paying the final installment. read more

Angel and his team just completed a complicated hardscaping job on our backyard and I could not be happier with the results. They had a much quicker turnaround than all the other companies I quoted and they were very close to being the lowest in price. We asked Angel to research several upgrades for us (steel edging instead of benderboard, bluestone instead of plain flagstone) and he sourced and quoted everything, no problem. Although it stated on their website that they were closed on Sunday's, Angel came out Sunday morning to give us an estimate! He came at the scheduled time, not a minute late! I've got about 5 really large (30+ft), bushy trees at the back of my property that I need trimmed and topped every year or two. I usually don't have much loyalty when it comes to trimmers, usu whatever is cheapest. Angel offered a fair price, so I went with him, expecting the usu work. When he got started, I blown away to see how much work he was actually doing. I usually get folks that come in and do just enough to get out of here. Angel and his brother stayed all day. Safe to say, they at least doubled the work other guys have done. Thinned out thr trees evenly and gave them shape. He's also conscious of proximity to power lines and structures, so there was some thought put into what he was doing.
