CHICKEN SOUP DUMPLINGS (6PC) PAN FRIED PORK SOUP DUMPLINGS
    Michelle L.

Stopped by Bao with my cousins to share some dumplings, and we all thought it rocked. We had the chicken and beef dumplings, the pan fried pork dumplings, and a side of rice. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. I've only had soup dumplings once before in San Francisco, and these were just as good. We'll definitely be back. :)

The food never disappoints. Their fried rice is delicious and a must side dish to order with the dumplings in my opinion. We got the black truffle dumplings, pan fried pork, steamed chicken, and chocolate dumplings. It was really cool seeing the chiefs make the dumplings through the kitchen window and servers were attentive.

Slightly obsessed with this spot in OKC The dumplings slapped, the fried rice was perfection, and the staff delivered. The restaurant is very clean and has plenty of space inside. 10/10 recommend

Ordered their pan-seared Pork Soup Dumplings, they were okay but they weren't as amazing as last time for some reason. I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen. Their new Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup was pretty good. I will come back to order that again. Several uncleaned tables left by patrons. Not sure why they can't promptly clean them as they were only 1/3 busy and had a full staff. Service is friendly.

Adding another review from a recent visit, their black-gold truffle soup dumplings are bomb. Their bento box is also pretty good, but maybe they should add a noodle dish (perhaps they have one and I just didn't see it). Still the best XLB specialty shop in OKC (and maybe only one)! Check it out and recommended!

Bao is an excellent spot. The vibe was informal but good. The service was attentive for a walk up. The food was delicious. Really well priced. Definitely will be back soon.

SURPASSED EXPECTATIONS. I would def come back. Probably my favorite dumpling spot now. You do have to ask for ginger. Wings were small and nothing special. Cream cheese wontons could prob use some green onion in them but they were good. THE DUMPLINGS THO?? TOO DAMN GOOD. I didn't even take a pic of the pork soup dumplings cos I gobbled them up. Portions are on the smaller side and the service was lowkey bad BUT the food was too damn flavorful! I'm coming back, had me thinking about dumplings for the rest of the day

The soup dumplings here were so delicious I couldn't not give this place five stars. I will point out that the ambiance is a bit jarring compared to the food in the sense that they had equipment like a ladder and cleaning supplies just left out in the dining area.(Random side note but be careful of the sinks in the bathroom, the water pressure is very high and sort of splashes on you). Soda comes in a can and I think next time I will have to try their other refreshments. Why then with these observations did I give this place 5-stars? Because the food was top tier and my mouth waters just thinking about how good their soup dumplings were. The people and the food are 5-stars. The staff was very kind and constantly stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our food and promptly took our dishes away when we were done. The dumplings again- were delicious, filling, and perfect. I know I will be back again!

I liked Bao Soup Dumpling when I went to visit this week! We went for lunch and there were plenty of tables open and the restaurant was very quiet and calming. The food was fresh and tasty. It did take a while to get our food but the portions were great and the food tasted pretty good as well so overall we were happy! We didn't try the bao buns this time but we'll be sure to get those next time we come!

Wow. Best soup dumpling and biggest I've ever had and I've had many. The variety of soup dumplings is also very impressive: pork, chicken, beef, shrimp&cheese, crab, black truffle just to name a few. What pairs very well with the XLB is the cucumber salad. Chopped finely and well seasoned, they were so crunchy and flavorful. So refreshing.

My husband and I split the wings, pork soup dumplings and beef soup dumplings. Both dumpling options were steamed. The wings came out first. The dry rub to coat the wings in was delicious. Unfortunately I would not recommend buying the wings because they were the tiniest things I have ever seen! Then the pork soup dumplings came out next. They were really delicious. We ate both items and then sat there for quite some time before the beef soup dumplings came out. They were good but we preferred the pork. The service was friendly but it really appeared as though one woman did almost everything at the front of the house. Sometimes another person would come clear a table but that was it. The main woman delivered food, brought drinks, and refilled drinks all while taking orders at the counter. Not sure why but the space seems loud. I would try again but probably to go.

I've had this spot bookmarked for a while, and I'm so glad my friends and I finally got to try it. Their soup dumplings are honestly some of the best I've ever had. We ordered the pork, beef, crab & pork soup dumplings, and also the pan-fried pork version, my friends especially loved the pan-fried ones. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day for takeout and tried the chicken and pork soup dumplings, along with their fried rice. Everything was a solid 10/10. Also, their chili sauce is amazing, super spicy, but we loved mixing it with a bit of soy sauce and vinegar for the perfect kick.

Because I would genuinely go back just for that. I kept telling myself "one more piece" and then suddenly half the basket was gone. The only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for our food felt a little longer than expected. Nothing crazy, but by the time it arrived, we were definitely checking the kitchen door every few minutes lol. Other than that, everything was great. They have outdoor seating available, but we decided to sit inside where everything was neat, tidy, and running like a well-oiled machine. The staff throughout the restaurant were friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Unfortunately, our first table felt like it was sitting directly under the Arctic Circle, so we politely asked to be moved. Thankfully, that wasn't a problem. Once relocated, we landed in Ms. Jemara's section. Ms. Jemara was a sweet young lady with a warm smile, a friendly personality, and excellent customer service. She was attentive, welcoming, and checked on us throughout our meal without hovering. For drinks, my sister ordered a Coke while I went with a glass of water and an Orion beer. For appetizers, I ordered the Chicken Karaage and a side of Gyoza. For my main course, I chose the Vegan Miso Butter Corn Ramen and added a Nitamago egg. The Chicken Karaage was nice and crispy and made for a good starter. The Gyoza was enjoyable as well. As for the ramen, it was decent--certainly not the best I've ever had, but far from the worst. What surprised me was learning that the owners are from Okinawa, Japan. I was expecting a broth packed with rich, bold flavor, but this vegan broth came across a little milder than I anticipated. To be fair, this was my first time trying a vegan ramen broth, so that may have played a role. Since I don't eat pork, I've sampled quite a few different styles of ramen over the years, and while this bowl was good, I've personally had more flavorful versions elsewhere. Even so, the restaurant was clean, the service was excellent, and Ms. Jemara helped make the experience an enjoyable one.
