After touring The Edge during the Urban home tour we stopped in Bao Soup Dumpling for lunch. I have driven by Bao a hundred times but had never noticed it. It's located on walker on the east side of the Edge in the small retail area. You order at the counter, they give you a number and deliver to your table. It casual dining. The food is good. The prices are moderate-high. We ordered dumplings soup, General Tao's Chicken and shrimp and pork wontons. The dumpling soup was very good. General Tao's chicken was OK as were the shrimp and pork duwonton. Bao's is a good place to catch a casual, fast lunch or dinner. read more

Parking is difficult here. They have street parking that is shared with the apartment complex and other neighbor businesses. It is a bit small and due to the front door location they always have a lot of leaves in the main entrance. The staff is ok nice. They'll politely take your order and clean the restaurant. Not particularly visiting tables frequent enough to ask for refills or sauces. The dumplings are addictingly good. They get them very crispy at the bottom and full of flavorful soup on the inside. We say by the window to see people making the dumplings. But it must've been to late at night because the staff wasn't making any at that time. read more

Stopped by Bao with my cousins to share some dumplings, and we all thought it rocked. We had the chicken and beef dumplings, the pan fried pork dumplings, and a side of rice. Ordered their pan-seared Pork Soup Dumplings, they were okay but they weren't as amazing as last time for some reason. I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen. SURPASSED EXPECTATIONS. I would def come back. Probably my favorite dumpling spot now. You do have to ask for ginger. Wings were small and nothing special. Cream cheese wontons could prob use some green onion in them but they were good. THE DUMPLINGS THO?? TOO DAMN GOOD. I didn't even take a pic of the pork soup dumplings cos I gobbled them up. The soup dumplings here were so delicious I couldn't not give this place five stars. I will point out that the ambiance is a bit jarring compared to the food in the sense that they had equipment like a ladder and cleaning supplies just left out in the dining area.(Random side note but be careful of the sinks in the bathroom, the water pressure is very high and sort of splashes on you). Soda comes in a can and I think next time I will have to try their other refreshments. Why then with these observations did I give this place 5-stars? Because the food was top tier and my mouth waters just thinking about how good their soup dumplings were. The people and the food are 5-stars. The staff was very kind and constantly stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our food and promptly took our dishes away when we were done. I liked Bao Soup Dumpling when I went to visit this week! We went for lunch and there were plenty of tables open and the restaurant was very quiet and calming. The food was fresh and tasty. It did take a while to get our food but the portions were great and the food tasted pretty good as well so overall we were happy! We ate both items and then sat there for quite some time before the beef soup dumplings came out. They were good but we preferred the pork. The service was friendly but it really appeared as though one woman did almost everything at the front of the house. Sometimes another person would come clear a table but that was it. I've had this spot bookmarked for a while, and I'm so glad my friends and I finally got to try it. Their soup dumplings are honestly some of the best I've ever had. We ordered the pork, beef, crab & pork soup dumplings, and also the pan-fried pork version, my friends especially loved the pan-fried ones. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day for takeout and tried the chicken and pork soup dumplings, along with their fried rice. Everything was a solid 10/10. Service was better the second time we visited, since the staff were more attentive.  They probably have the juiciest soup dumplings compared to others. And the meat fillings were indeed flavorful. The dumplings tasted very fresh. I did notice that the pan-fried beef soup dumplings were juicier than the pork dumplings. The dumplings do stick to the paper so it requires a light hand to pick them up.  Their hot wings were great. But it's not spicy though, the dipping sauce was sweet, almost similar to ketchup.   Now that I have come here twice, I'm not sure it is my kind of place for dinner, but if we need something light we probably stop by. read more

Brand new soup dumpling place in OKC. The servings are about 6 per portion, which is about average. I'd recommend getting two different types if you're hungry. There's a window on the side of the restaurant where you can look in and see the chefs making the dumplings. When we got there, it was pretty busy and fairly long line, but they were good about getting our food fairly quickly . We got the crab and pork as well as the pork and the beef. A fun experience! My husband LOVED it, I liked it. He likes Asian soups and dumplings better than I do in general - so if you're a big fan of those, you'll love this. It was ok. We came during a lunch rush and the place was packed. Kinda difficult to find parking and seating. We ordered multiple menu items. Regular beef soup dumplings were good. We got the cheese angels and the filling was creamy and sweet. We tried the pork soup dumplings and the truffle dumplings. All were tasty! The dumplings I didn't care for were the pan fried. They were greasy from the oil they were fried in to create the flour crust and edges tasted burnt imo. Maybe that's how they're supposed to be? But I wasn't a fan. If I could give 10 stars, I would! We were greeted the second we walked in the door. The service the entire time was phenomenal! They explained the menu and gave us tons of great recommendations. Every item we tried on the menu was delicious and flavorful. I loved that you could see them making everything as well. We found out that not only are the dumplings made in house, but so is the chili oil and condensed milk(for the golden mini buns). The manager was so sweet and checking in us during our meal to make sure everything was good and of course everything looked and tasted better than we could have imagined. So I had no idea what the concept of a soup dumpling actually was. I thought soup + dumpling but separate. What a nice surprise! Unless you have an extra large mouth I would not advise the whole bit method. The soup is either going to shoot out of your mouth or down your throat. We went back to this restaurant and gave them a second chance. I haven't seen any bugs during the entire time and the restaurant is really clean. They clean the tables very fast between customers. What I like -the soup dumplings, fried or non-fried was very delicious probably the best in the city -You get a number whenever order they bring you your food which I like because it is faster than waiting on a waiter. -the inside was clean and had all the things you needed. -Simple menu so quality should stay the same. Hopefully they don't add more items like Empire dim sum and ruined the fresh quality that they had. What needs improvement -take a little more pride in your cucumber salad that was just cucumber with the sauce over it and not even cut well for $7 dollars -You need to change out your sinks in the restroom because I can only use one hand at a time to wash my hand because you're stupid sensor so far away. -a second cashier when you're busy will be ideal as well and make sure you have change to give when someone's paying cash. I like this place a lot but a few things can be better. I will bring family back for some delicious soup dumplings. read more

Soup, filling, and dough of the dumpling itself were perfect ratios. Service was so kind and attentive! We got the fried calamari, crab & pork soup dumplings, and the pan fried pork dumplings. Our favorite was the crab & pork dumplings; the soup was delicious and it was a real crab filling too! Just these three items had us very full. Their wait staff or at least the people taking the orders should prolly not talk to customers. Service can be better, most of the time i cant hear them when they place food down & it's usually placed on the opposite side instead near me which can play part on why I can't hear them.
