On my recent trip to Houston!…read more When I was searching for dowtown bars and dancing, Behind Closed Doors popped up. It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go. So, we walked down the dark hallway and pushed open door #3 (hence the name) to find this super cool speakeasy bar. Dim lights, really modern decor, comfy suede chairs and best of all, some really great cocktails. If you are ever in Downtown Houston, I highly recommend you coming here. I promise you will have the best time. We did not stay for dancing.

The drinks were solid, and the overall atmosphere was definitely a vibe. We went on a Saturday evening, so it was pretty crowded, but once we found our spot in the Gold Room, we stayed there most of the night. Great music, great energy, and a unique concept. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something different for a night out. Not sure how it took me this long to stumble in here. Parking is what it is downtown so, there's that.

The way I love an espresso anything! This place is all kinds of cute aesthically! Coffee shop by…read moreday, bar by night ! My type of time! The place was pretty empty when we arrived with there being a small party at a table. Notables there were dirty plates left on a table for quite a bit. The bar tender was very friendly and makes a heck of a drink but as the evening progressed and more people arrived at the Cafe the service became extremely slowwww. This is also why tables weren't cleaned quickly. There needs to be atleast 2 personnel there. Now as stated the bevs were great and they had a lot of unique cocktails I'd like to try but I didn't want to have to wait all night so we left! Will I be back though?? Absolutely!

Wow, what a let down. A couple of my friends and I were in the neighborhood and did a quick search…read morefor spots with reverse happy hour and Sunday Social was one of the first results. Reviews stated that they offer $10 Carajillos starting at 10pm and both Yelp and Google Maps showed them open until midnight. We showed up just a couple of minutes past 10pm to find active construction underway inside. There was a gentleman working on the flooring, furniture being disassembled and lots of construction equipment outside. The seeming owner or manager reassured us to come in, however as soon as we took a seat we learned that they closed at 10pm. Ironically there was a young man assembling a large sign that states "open until 10pm" to prop outside. The bartender offered to make us a drink and since we had driven here just for this spot (I would call it a coffee shop and not really a bar), we agreed. The Carajillos were $15 and sadly, batched. Disappointing for a cocktail with only about two ingredients. We asked if they could add an orange peel garnish but unfortunately they were out. Definitely a one and done. Will not be back.

Let me start by saying that this spot is located on the Northside in the Airline 45 freeway area in…read morea plaza. They have PLENTY parking. My friend and decided to drop in on a Saturday night. We heard it was and R&B Saturday and the crowd was 25 and up. Upon arrival we were greeted by the people in tents in front of the club. Each tent was selling something different (crawfish, rib tent, chicken and soulful sides). Inside the place it was cute and clean. Liked the creative artist wall so the ambiance was chill. I thought the drinks were just okay. The drinks are in really small plastic clubs. I ordered a Sidecar which was a bit watered down. I also want to say that ALL tabs have automatic gratuity so if you get ur bill you will be adding an extra gratuity. I tipped which wasn't a problem but making you aware. The bartenders/waitstaff were very pleasant with great attitudes. Now the music wasn't very non vibey. They promoted 90s and 2000s but they were playing very slow music for a while like Sitting up in my room (Brandy), Monica "why I love you so much", and another sleepy song so we left. I think overall maybe had I stayed after 10pm it probably would be more turned up. My friend ordered from the Rib spot ordered ribs, rice, and macaroni and it took 40 mins and she stated it was cold. Overall I would be back maybe well after happy hour or after 10pm.

Real R&B playing , great ambiance, hookah flowing, and dancing. We ordered drinks and a hookah and set up At a table. We only planned to be here for a couple of hours but the DJ kept us here for 4 hours. Would have stayed but I have obligations in am. New hot spot in Houston ! Check it out !
