We frequent bar basic pretty often and really enjoy it. They have trivia Wednesday nights and a really impressive happy hour. All of the food has been amazing and the staff is sweet. The service can take a little bit longer, but it's usually because they are so busy. Highly recommend this spot - especially on trivia night!

Great Tex mec food with updated twists. Loved my grilled corn & romaine salad, also tasted the kale quesadilla which was out of this world! Service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was a casual bar and a few tables, some in the back outside. There is a opening to the street which gives the place an open, airy feel to it. On seventh Ave in Brooklyn near a lot of other area neighborhood stores. Convenient street parking.

Nice divey bar with great drinks and bar food. We came in before going out to a local escape room a few blocks away and weren't disappointed with the quality drinks and food. Highly recommend the burgers and the drinks. Service is great turn bar tender was friendly and recommended some great cocktails. The bar seating is limited but there are plenty of small tables and bench seating. Overall it's a great bar with nice atmosphere. The decor is a bit all over the place from winter decorations to mistletoes everywhere. Very cozy.

Very casual quaint spot with a nice asthetic. There is bar seating and tables (for singles and larger parties up to eight ). The service was slow, and there was a large gap (about 20mins) between getting bar drinks and ordering food. The restaurant was filled however, so the slow service could have been a sign of busyness. The Christmas drink options are original and full of flavor, I recommend the "Quintini". The food is great for sharing. The standouts were the wings with its complimentary sauce. The Mac and cheese would have been even better without the croutons. The "cheese pull" when it first comes out is nice. The chicken sandwich is made of dark meat and was average. I have had more seasoned and flavorful sandwiches.

Overall rating: 4.5 $7 margarita during happy hour. Sign me up! Very small spot that feels short staffed when I went during happy hour time. Oddly enough I saw someone working at the bar, but the odd part was there's literally no space. I like the deal, but I don't think I could come back solo. This is a spot you catch up with a friend on. Definitely want to come back again & try their food.

If you come here for anything come for the wings. The wings were one of the best I've had in Brooklyn. We ordered wings, fish tacos, the burger, nachos, and fish and chips. The wings were 10/10. The nachos were also really good 9/10. The burger was ok, not great, and the fries need work 7/10. The fish tacos were also ok, not great 6/10. The fish and chips were good, but the fries need work and that's half the dish 7/10. The fries weren't cooked well, tasted stale and unseasoned. Otherwise the fish and chips would've been an 8/10. There were a few things we tried to order and they either "didn't have", were "sold out", or "not available right now". So everything we ordered wasn't our first choice. The service was also not very good here. The food took longer than expected and the waitress was impossible to catch. The overall experience was good but not great. Not sure if I'd come back.

Bar Basic is the best I started going here over a year and half ago and it became my go to bar. The food and drinks are on point and the customer service is the best. Kayla was our bartender when we first started going there and now she's performs the last Tuesday of each month and I must say this young lady can sing!!!!! If you are in the Park Slope area check them out.

I came here years ago when it was a soft opening of a new Gnarly Eats location down from their main location (I written the soft opening review on the original Gnarly Eats review; it seem to be removed now). We had stumbled by chance and loved it. It was never on Yelp or on Google; so we weren't able to find it but knew it was around the neighborhood of Ramen Danbo & Banhmigos. It had cool artwork of Studio Ghilbi everywhere and awesome burgers. So, on 11/23 we decided to come and look for it as we really enjoyed this location. We yelped Banhmigos, parked and walked around looking. We found Bar Basic in the exact location and it still have some of the original artworks. It looked about the same layout but of course new decors. We were excited to try it anyways as it has burgers on the menu. I guess the soft opening failed and now Bar Basic took over. We ordered: Tater tots Fish & Chips jambalaya Very delish!~ Will come back again one day.

It has the kind of cozy neighborhood vibe that makes you want to relax and savor your meal. Our server, Annie S., was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and very easy to talk to. Her service struck the perfect balance and truly enhanced our experience. We shared the Sailor Gin Martini, which was beautifully chilled, bright, aromatic, and finished with a lovely dry note. It was refreshing and absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we shared the quiche. It was so good that we completely forgot to take a photo before finishing it! For our entrées, I ordered the cod and my husband had the burger without the bun. The cod was honestly one of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The pea purée that accompanied it was equally delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger, and I couldn't resist helping myself to some of his fries, which were excellent as well. Every part of this meal was enjoyable, from the drink and food to the warm hospitality and comfortable atmosphere. Needless to say, we both left very happy.

We ordered two appetizers with distinctive sauces, and when our plates weren't cleared after the first course, we made what I thought was a very reasonable request for fresh plates. That simple request seemed to send our server over the edge. At a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect fresh plates and silverware to be brought automatically between courses. Instead, the staff insisted that we keep using the same silverware throughout the meal. Later in the evening, I sat with an empty cocktail glass for quite a while. I tried making eye contact with our server, who appeared to avoid our table by turning her back and refusing to look over. I suspect she noticed me in her peripheral vision because she abruptly said, "I'll be with you in just a moment." I wasn't waving her down or trying to interrupt her. I simply wanted a wine list, which could have been dropped off in seconds for me to browse while she continued helping other tables. Instead, after I asked, she prioritized several other tasks before eventually bringing it over. At one point, my friends joked that "the food is great in Brooklyn, but the service is rude." That honestly made me sad to hear because it doesn't reflect the Brooklyn I've known over the past 14 years. I've always found it to be warm and welcoming. I'm not sure what happened to Sailor, but this experience couldn't have been more different from my first visit, as reflected in my previous review. Before dismissing this as someone being overly critical, it's worth noting that I worked in the service industry for 17 years. I know restaurants get busy, and I don't expect perfection. But basic hospitality, attentiveness, and professionalism should still be part of the experience, especially at a restaurant of this quality.

When I walked in, I noticed two available seats at the bar. A Caucasian woman took one of the seats, and I sat in the other. Moments later, an employee asked me to move because the woman's friend was supposedly on the way. Now, I've always understood bar seating to be first come, first served. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I wasn't even given the opportunity to order a drink or remain seated until the friend actually arrived. Instead, I was immediately asked to give up my seat for someone who wasn't even present. As a Black man, on Juneteenth of all days, the optics of the situation did not sit well with me. The music was Black. The atmosphere was Black. The culture being celebrated was Black. Yet it felt like preference was being given to someone who wasn't even there over a paying customer who was. Maybe that wasn't the intent, but perception matters, and the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment. Avoid it at all cost! Zero STARS

Friendly waitress greeted us and sat us immediately. Menu's came out and they recommended a pizza and burger. We agreed and ordered. Place started to pick up and get busy immediately after we ordered. Food came out pretty quickly. We each had a burger. Not a lot of options on the menu but we all tried the emily burger. It was worth it. Think, juicy and with an amazingly unique taste. The ingredients were high quality, the burger cooked to perfection. The table also split the modern pizza (I think). Not sure what to expect from this one but turns out it was perfect, unique and delicious. The cheese taste really shined through. Overall, we were super happy with the food here. Today however it wasn't pizza that brought me here, it was the famous Emmy Burger. To begin with the atmosphere of the restaurant is dim lighting a few tables with a reasonable sized bar in the middle of the room. They also have an open kitchen concept where just past the bar you can see the cooks working. My server Inda was polite and knowledgeable about the menu. My burger was excellent, normally I don't eat my burger with a knife and folk, but in this case with all the cheese and sauce oozing down the sides, not to mention the caramelized onions, it was necessary. (If I were home I wouldn't mind having burger juices running down my arm, but other people were eating in the restaurant also). The tiny pickles which I can't remember the name of were an added treat to the burger. I decided to order mine with the loaded fries. Just imagine the ground burger with all the toppings covering french fries and add melted white cheese. Since I was alone I didn't order a pizza because how would I eat it all, but next time I will try the pizza. I don't mind paying extra for a burger when it's aged beef and the taste is great. I definitely recommend this location. There is a fast food burger restaurant next door to Emily's but I can't imagine there burgers compare. I will try them another time and let you know. That's all for now, see you on my next review.
