    Pork chop

Cute French restaurant in Islip with very nice ambiance, comfortable seats and attentive staff. I've been here before but wanted to review it because it was a great experience again. I came with 2 girlfriends and we shared the Greek salad and scallops on special to start. Both were prepared nicely and it was the perfect amount for us to share. I got the pork chop served with sliced fingerling potato's and topped with the bacon. I enjoyed the dish but I felt the bacon took away from the juicy and tender pork chop I wish I was prepared a bit more simple. will def try something new next time. For dessert we shared a pumpkin something I can't recall but it was delish as well as the chocolate peanut butter soufflé: cocktails are also well made and delicious.

Another great experience. This time my husband tried the Dirty Gibson (don't recall the real name) but he said it was excellent, one of the best cocktails he's had. He never had a Gibson. He liked it so much, he ordered two. The Mixologist here at Bar Clementine definitely has a keen eye for detail and palate is spot on. I had the signature Bar Clementine cocktail. For me, it's the perfect drink. Not too boozy and just sweet enough for me. My husband loves it too. We ordered the Fritto Misto as an appetizer and it was perfectly seasoned. We can appreciate that. Very yummy with the capers and lemon aioli. Quite delicious and I would order again. We both ordered the steak which I ordered the last time. My steak was overcooked but they came back very quickly with a new steak. Our server was very apologetic and comp'd my cocktail, which I appreciated. I love that Bar Clementine is so crowded and popular and has such kickass food. Compliments to the chef, Mixologist and management.

Was looking for something different and definitely found it here! The food was outstanding from start to finish, the deviled eggs with fresh crab were packed with flavor, the crispy duck confit was perfectly cooked and generously portioned, and the grilled oysters were simple yet incredible. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the ambiance struck a nice balance between the modern bar area and the warm, authentic dining space. Every course, from appetizers to dessert, was a 10/10. This place is a true hidden gem, and I'll absolutely be back again and again!

    Mussels and tuna tartare

The tuna tartare is just like the lakehouse which i love and is why i came. The clementine drink was quite literally the best tasting "orange creamscicle" drink i have ever tried. The food was phenomenal!

Small, intimate, and beautifully decorated with a menu and staff that matches the aesthetic. Superbly made cocktails and impeccably crafted food with excellent service makes this spot one of my favorites!

Come before 6 p.m. on WTF! (Wed, Thurs, Fri) because it gets crowded fast. I dined here twice in two weeks. All portions are ample. For example, the Chicken Liver and Foie Gras Pate has enough Pate to feed two people. A hearty appetizer, it is velvety smooth and rightly paired with a pistachio topping. Perhaps my favorite appetizer is the Trio of Dips: Roasted Tomato White Bean, Truffled Honey Ricotta, Caramelized Onion. The latter two are so good that I am going to Google the recipe so I can make them for an upcoming BBQ. A shoutout goes to mixologists Tamra and Shannon for making the menu's amazingly creative cocktails. I recommend the Clementine Cocktail, which tastes like a boozy creamsicle. I promise to return to try some other items on the menu. I give Bar Clementine five stars way up!

Girlies come together! Bar Clementine has become my absolute favorite place when I want to lean into being a girl. The decor is warm and ultra-stylish, with irresistible pops of color. I am happy just from walking in. The bartenders are the most fun and friendly women ever, who make you feel like you are coming in to visit old friends. When you think things can't get better, the food and the drinks...wow! Small plates packing obscene amounts of salt and fat--the closest thing I can imagine hard drugs feeling like. But there are enough of these incredible small plates to choose from that you can share with your friends or eat them all yourself and still be so happy from being at Bar Clementine.

Nice, relatively new spot from the owners of the Lakehouse in Treme's old space on Main Street in Islip. The interior is well decorated, but with not a lot of seating, and the bar is beautiful. It's a little dark, which I like, but is not for everyone. Service was ok, nothing to write home about. No happy hour specials when we went, which was a bit disappointing, but the food we tried was pretty solid! The trio of dips was ok, and the arancini was savory and very good but could probably have used some sort of sauce. Drinks were ok, although the price for a non-alcoholic cocktail was more than a regular drink. Not sure I would've ordered it if the price had been displayed on the menu. Glad I checked this box, and has a nice array of French-inspired dishes I'd like to try, but not sure I'll be back any time soon.

This place is adorable! We felt comfortable the minute we walked in. The hostess's was so sweet and sat us for our reservation right away. We of course had to try their signature Clementine drink. It was a nice change up from a glass of wine. Sweet but not overwhelming. It was very good. Definitely worth a try. We had the fritto appetizer which was rock shrimp, artichoke, zucchini and it was great. The simple salad was not as simple as we expected but in a good way. It was the perfect amount of dressing, tomato and corn on top. I know most people love a good truffle fry but my friend and I do not. Our waiter was so accommodating to get us regular fries even though he disagreed with our choose. lol He was very helpful and friendly our entire time which was a plus. We finished with the peanut butter dessert which was amazinnnng ! The colors and decor they picked really make it so warm and inviting. The detail in their plates, cups and menu did not go unnoticed. They have a huge bar with TVs as seating as well. They also have weekend brunch during the day which looked really good. Overall this was a great girls night or date night spot.

This place was so cute for happy hour or just for dinner. They had a lot of options of wine and cocktails. appetizers were delicious. We went there kind of late so we just got appetizers this time but I definitely want to go back and try their dinner. We had garlic fries, with crab filled deviled eggs, and a calamari fried mix that came with vegetables fried as well. We also got a dessert. We got the crème brûlée that came with a sugar cookie.Everything was amazing, for a drink of choice, we got the Clementine, which is their signature cocktail.

First time visiting this establishment. The decor was on point and beautifully set. Ordered a few cocktails and all were very good. The yellowfin tuna tartare was excellent, a must to have. For our entree we decided on the grilled marinated skirt steak frites which was prepared to perfection. The pan roasted sea scallops with tomato confit & butterbeans , delicious! The selection of cocktails, apps and entrees are a nice selection. Looking forward to going back.

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not. The servers are all well versed in the menu items, including the oyster selection, which is always a plus for me. Each time I've visited I ordered a few different oysters and have never been disappointed. You really cannot go wrong with what you order. The fritto misto appetizer is outstanding, perfect for 2-4 people. Also had to try the oysters Rockefeller which are always delicious. My first visit (NYE '26) they had octopus on their specials menu. I PRAY they bring it back because it was memorable, even 6 months later. My first visit I tried the barramundi which, at the time was a special menu item. It seems they added it to the Mains but with a different preparation. This time I tried the salmon which was excellent. If seafood's not your jam, they have plenty of menu items to choose from. In addition to the food, they also have great cocktails and a stellar looking happy hour menu I can't wait to try. I recommend making reservations, especially if you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday night. Both times I went here the restaurant was packed, particularly the bar area. My only real critique is that the restaurant gets a bit loud, making it a tad difficult to hear but it's also a sign that the place is doing consistently well.

However, the seating in my opinion is on a tight spaced sidewalk where people and cars pass you by. It was crowded and our waiter was fine. The food took way too long to come out. It was like they forgot our order. It was happy hour for clams so that could have played a part. However, others had received their food before us. When the food finally came, the oysters were sad. Such small oysters for a place that's on the coast and bases it menu off the ocean. Our tuna tartar tacos were great. Best I've ever had. The flavor is towards the bottom of the taco so take a big bite to get all that flavor. IMO this is a nice place. I would not make it a go to spot for their oysters. But I would return.
