The woman working was helpful and nice. The tea is very pricey and not very tasty. We tried a maple tea, an almond tea, a breakfast tea, and a blueberry tea. All but the blueberry was so-so. While in Bar Harbor, we ducked into this tea shop to see what they had to offer. The location is super convenient, right on the downtown square, and surrounded by convenient parking if you came by car. Inside, the place is packed with teas and tea accessories. I love having the opportunity to smell all the different teas, and this store has quite an extensive selection. They have fruit and herbal teas, green teas and black teas, super caffeinate options, and holiday/special event teas full of spices and special flavors. I was delighted with the jasmine tea and the almond tea, and also left with some tea mints and some yummy maple sugar candies. Prices are a little high for the quantity, but I know it's a markup based on the exclusivity and the area adding to the cost. The people working there were helpful but not very friendly, but I chalk that up to being super busy with a store packed with customers. I loved the teas I bought and definitely would return to buy more next time I'm in the area. read more

I didn't want to write a review until I've had a chance to seep a cup. I just called it quits after work and am now sipping this delicious blend. It's delicious! I taste the blueberries and I love fruity teas. This also came in green tea but I like a little more caffeine in my teas because I'm not a coffee drinker but still want the caffeine. I'm really enjoying this tea and now I'm wishing I had bought a larger supply. But they do ship so that's a possibility. read more

They don't even have anything brewed to offer you a sample off, lots of them are flavor oils and not only are the teas way of market prices compared to most other places for the weights but so are all the mediocre cheap type of assorted accessories. There about a year ago. The store was fine, very pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very nice to us. Prices are pretty steep, though. Bah Hahbah is a pretty hoity toity place, and I'll bet the rent is through the roof. Unfortunately their own website doesn't allow ratings. I bought several teas (I was there, after all and figured they'd be nice things to remember our trip). The wild blueberry is AMAZING, IMHO. I'd love to order more but again prices pretty steep, as is shipping, and while an excellent tea, given all the other options out there, it just hasn't been worth it, to me. On the other hand, their Citrus Early Grey (they have a couple Earl Grey varieties) is seriously "meh." To me, it's not much more than a very standard, middling black tea. I taste NO bergamot at ALL. And I'm drinking a cup of it right now, so it's quite fresh in my mind (and tastebuds) as I write this. Nice shop, if you're ever in "Bah Hahbah" and you like tea, I definitely recommend stopping by, just be prepared for the price shock! read more

Bar Harbor Tea Company was more a shop than a cafe. Only their most popular teas are sold individually. They did have one tea available for sampling and a honey. That did it for my companion, as she probably wouldn't have bought that jar of raw honey if they hadn't let her have that taste. I was looking forward to trying either their blueberry iced tea or chocolate chai, both of which were not available by the cup that day, so I was a bit disappointed, and thus the 3 star rating. read more

Adorable tea shop! I am a tea lover and so I couldn't leave here without buying a few things. I bought two once ounce sizes of their Cape Cod cranberry loose tea and the Maine Blueberry. They both smell absolutely amazing. I also left with a sloth tea cup brewer and a few honey sticks! The lady that was working at the shop was a delight. The blackberry honey sticks are so good, I ate them like candy, so fresh tasting. I can't wait to try my tea and new brewer! I would have bought a lot more tea, but it is pricey, to be expected from a smaller local the shop though in a tourist spot and also they have high quality tea. Great shop! read more

Stumbled upon this shop while I was roaming through bar harbor. They've got a variety of nice teas but the ones you really want are the blueberry teas, since that's what Maine is known for! They also sell tea cups and other accessories needed to enhance your drinking experience. Unfortunately they ran out of the 1oz ($8) pack of the blueberry herbal tea I wanted. Very cute tea shop and friendly folks. I have my 4 lb chihuahua with me and was about to ask if they were ok with me brining him in. I didn't see the sign that said "Please leave pet outside" at first, so when I saw, I immediately turned around to go outside. The shop owners stopped me and said to go ahead and come in since I had my chihuahua bundled up in my arm. I can understand that some shop keepers cannot allow pets in their shop due to what they are selling (food/drinks etc) and/or simple preference thing. So I really appreciated that they allowed for me to bring my little dog inside. They had very interesting selections and beautiful tea sets. I was looking for a cup and tea pot in one type set and found it in their shop. We also saw 'tea bricks' which was very interesting. read more

I came to Bar Harbor on a cruise and walked into this cute little tea shop. It has a lot of selections and they have testers for you to smell the scent of the tea. I particularly liked the peach one but they don't make them with tea bags which is a bummer. I decided to buy a box of the Maine Wild Blueberry Black Tea. They do have Blueberry Green tea, but I think the black tea smells the best. When I came back, I tried the tea and it was really good. The tea is not strong and you can taste the subtle blueberry taste but not overpowering. The tea bag is this nylon type so it's sturdy and looks like quality tea bags. I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tea and I would get more variety next time. read more

I felt like I should have been walking into my grandmother's parlor after walking into Bar Harbor Tea; however, despite the animal mugs, floral mugs and other kitschy gifts, they actually have top of the line tea products including filters for kettles and to-go mugs as well as steepers with fun key-chains on the end. They also have a variety of tea flavors available for purchase from travel size to jumbo size (and they all smell amazing). Their range of themed mugs were beautiful, their kettles top of the line, and I even picked up a stainless steel shell-shaped tea steeper (try saying that 3 times fast) to bring home with me. My mom and I are HUGE tea fans. We stopped in this shop while wondering around Bar Harbor. They have tons of different types and flavors of tea packaged in really cute tins. I love the little magnetic tins filled with the tea above each variety that you can pull off the magnet, open, and smell. What a clever marketing tool. The store is very bright and inviting, and so was the girl working. My mom stocked up on a bunch of different teas for Christmas gifts, but I was too cheap, the tea is a little on the pricey side. read more

This is a little cute tea shop in Bar Harbor. They sell tons of teapots, tea cups, tea accessories, etc. and a good range of tea. (As a tea addict, it was a pretty small amount of tea.) The tea is prepackaged into set amounts and the packing is probably the nicest tea packaging I ever seen in my life (the tea packaging has changed from what the yelp photos are showing). Very tasty tea (Earl Grey Extra, Wild blueberry Green and Black Tea). I kind of had to take a star away for the guy who works at the store - he seems to be lacking knowledge for the tea in the store. When you ask him a question about individual tea, he can't really give you a straight reply. So, if you are not familiar with tea, he's no help. But, he is friendly! read more

We found the staff there to be knowledgeable and courteous. They helped when needed but also let us look around the store and smell all the teas. One of the girls working there informed us that Bar Harbor Tea Company also Blends their teas right in Bar Harbor. It's a fun store to spend some time in. This is not a tea room and too bad that they don't serve tea to drink. However they have a nice selection of teas and many flavors that were quite unusual. Ever try Chocolate tea? How about Chocolate Chai? We ended up buying more tea than usual because the flavors were very nice and worth trying. It is a little pricey and costs more than I am used to paying in Seattle. But since we were travelling we really appreciated the reasonable charge for shipping so we did not have to carry anything back. read more

I'm a tea fanatic, so I was so happy to discover this place. They have jars of the loose tea so you can smell it to see if you'd probably like it. The Sweet Almond smelled so heavenly that I had to get it. It was tasty as well. I also bought a tea cozy. The tea pots they sell are expensive, but I didn't need a new one anyway. I really appreciate a good cup of tea, but I'm not a tea snob, so while I can't speak for the quality or sourcing of the tea leaves, I think it's a great little shop for tea-lovers. I bought 3 teas here - Citrus Earl Grey, Chai and a small tin of Christmas Tea. I have only tried the Earl Grey so far, but it was really pleasing and I have never come across a citrus variety of this tea in all my tea shopping. It is a natural pairing.
