    Smoothie Special and Blueberry Muffin

This was my favorite breakfast while visiting Bar Harbor. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, and we had a lovely table under a shady tree on the patio. I had one of the smoothies and muffins on special, along with a breakfast BLT. Everything was fresh and delightful. My wife's breakfast sandwich bagel came out burnt. She didn't want to send it back, so that's on her, but it shouldn't have been able to leave the kitchen that way.

Food was fairly priced and we were seated quickly for how crowded the restaurant was. The pancakes were good (as advertised) and the portions were large... but the service was a miss for us unfortunately. After we ordered, the food came out quickly - but our server was never to be seen again. We even had to flag a different employee down to close out and even then we did not see her again.

Delicious breakfast spot with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Loved how the restaurant is close to downtown but was still quiet and quaint in the morning. The blueberry pancake had crispy edges which was unique and we loved it and their Bloody Mary was perfectly spicy. Our server was kind and quick with the food.

Nice staff. Attentive and fast. The food was good. The grilled muffin had sugar baked in on the top making it very sweet. I'm not a breakfast person, but my husband said the monte cristo lived up to it's popular reputation. The syrup was really good. The ham was surprisingly very thick. Many, many tables and very popular breakfast location.

Beautiful little restaurant! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu items. Food was yummy! I had the Eggs Benedict and a side of potatoes. The potatoes were nice and soft in the inside and the outside had the perfect crunch. The eggs were delicious! My mother in law had the blueberry pancakes and I can honestly say it was the most I saw her eat all trip. She absolutely love them! If you're in the area, it's definitely a must stop!

Highly recommend eating here. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Turn around time is fast so wait shouldn't be long. Best blueberry pancakes I had in the area!

If you are looking for an incredible breakfast spot in Bar Harbor, Cafe This Way is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with friendly and efficient service. The lobster Benedict was outstanding, but the star of the meal was the blueberry pancakes, which were the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had. Thanks again to the staff at Cafe This Way for such an extraordinary breakfast experience. We will definitely be back (every morning) the next time we're in Bar Harbor.

I loved Cafe This Way! It definitely lives up to the Bar Harbor hype. I got to the restaurant around 8am on a Sunday morning in the fall, and only waited about 15 minutes to get a table. They had a comfy waiting area nearby the host stand. The host also did a great job of making sure you could hear your name being called. We sat in the outdoor seating, which was covered and really a great Maine experience. Service was friendly, and the food came out very quickly. It felt like a Gilmore Girls/Stars Hollow-esqe scene. I ordered the benedict, coffee, and the blueberry pancake. The pancake was one of the best things I've eaten in Maine. It was a perfectly crispy on the outside, thin and absolutely delicious pancake. To top it off there were real Maine blueberries and real maple syrup. It was simply delightful. If you find yourself in Bar Harbor, make sure to go to Cafe This Way.

Our group of 6 came here for breakfast before a tour and all enjoyed our meals. I had one chocolate chip pancake that was really good a scrambled eggs apple juice and my wife had two eggs over easy with toast and like her breakfast. Emma was a good server making sure we all had what we ordered and coming back to make sure all was good during our meal. The prices of food here is very good and with good food we'd definitely recommend it to all visitors to Bar Harbor.

My husband and I shared: - Lobster Benedict - Maine Blueberry Pancake - Home Fries - Atlantic Brewing Blueberry Soda The food was absolutely delicious. I expected to like the Benedict more and it was so good, but the blueberry pancake blew me away. I don't love pancakes, but this one was thin, crispy, and had so much flavor. It was the best pancake I've ever had. The portion sizes are on the smaller side and prices are fairly high, but that's typical of lobster in Maine. We arrived a bit before 11 and didn't have to wait too long for a table.

Ordered breakfast and had a few drinks after our morning hike. Food was great and service was quick! They had a lot of different specials throughout the weekend and holiday! Try a breakfast cocktail!

Ask the Community - Cafe This Way

I don't see it on the menu anymore- does this place still have lobster eggs Benedict?

Yes. They have a different menu, like a seasonal one, physically displayed inside the cafe.

    Are the home fries fried?

I believe so--I've posted a picture of them with the blueberry pancakes for you to see.

The view? Lovely. The vibe? A little... off. The place has that "it could be nice if someone cared just a bit more" feel -- not bad, just lacking that spark (or maybe a good interior refresh). My husband, on his noble quest to sample every lobster bisque in Maine, declared this one the worst of the trip -- and trust me, the man takes bisque seriously. My beet salad with picked lobster was actually quite good, fresh and nicely balanced, which saved the meal from total disappointment. Service matched the décor -- polite enough but not exactly engaged. It had that subtle "we're doing you a favor" energy, which really pairs best with... no one's martini. Speaking of which, I had to remind our server to actually add the olives to mine. Small details, big impact, friends. In conclusion: go for the view, not the vibe. There's potential here, but it needs a little love -- and a lot more attention to the bisque.

As always not enough meat if you're only eating lobster. Corn was tasty. I have mine to my husband, he was still hungry. The clam chowder was ok. I feel like it had been sitting in the pot for a day or so. Really thick and kind of concealed. Not the rich-creamy flavor I was hoping for. Kind of bland. Needed to add hot sauce. I tried a couple bites of the Blueberry pie. Very thick pie filling. Sweet and tasty. Felt like the crust was store bought. Not really flaky or buttery. Overall, good lobster. Touristy. Clam chowder: super delicious and passed the spoon test! (I like my chowders thick so a spoon should float on top) Bangin Shrimp: seasoning and sauce were bangin! Great stuff and the buttery grilled flamed pita added a beautiful touch Cadillac fries: crispy fries with melty cheese, hot sauce, bbq sauce, chipotle mayo and toooed with bacon. We inhaled these. Mac + rac: fall off the bone rips and the Mac was killer. Mixed in with street corn added a great change up and all went so well together. Larger shells cooked perfectly and super cheesy, this was a great dish. Highly recommend, wish I could have tried the Blueberry Pie because that looks insane, was way too full after crushing the other dishes and washed down with a blueberry beer and an extra dirty martini!
