No surprise you could get a bar seat here on the 4th vs. other establishments on the North Shore that were packed. When we arrived here there was a total of 6 people at the bar with dirty glasses in front of all of them. (They were all seated at a corner of the bar) After waiting 10 minutes we tried to get the bartenders attention only to be greeted with a rude snarky attitude and frustration that seemed as though we interrupted her from doing nothing. A great spot near Stage AE. We went after a concert to have a couple drinks. There was a live DJ on Friday night, playing good music, and plenty of seating options. Service was good and attentive. With plenty of options for drinks, a couple NA options that I appreciated. We decided we were hungry around 11:30 p.m. and were pleased that we could still order. Great service by Sky! 10 people in our party. Restaurant wasn't busy. Took a long time for kitchen to produce our orders. Everyone enjoyed the nachos, truffle fries, calamari, pretzel bites, wedding soup, and donut holes. My guest and I split a reuben and a "caprese-like" bacon grilled cheese with fries. Nice size portions. Would order again. Parked behind the restaurant ($12) and used the nicely paved well light patio to go to the restaurant. We came to Bar Louie North Shore for Thomas Jefferson High School's 25th Reunion. The place was spacious enough for an event like this. The service was good and servers checked us in and took care of our drink orders. The reunion included a buffet. I visited on April 12, 2026 before a concert at Stage AE. I couldn't believe the great service. The bartender, Jessica, was so nice and personable and made everyone feel so welcome. The food came out so quick and was absolutely delicious and of the highest quality. I got the salmon with the shrimp add on and it was like something from a gourmet seafood restaurant. We asked more than once about our food and was told "it's coming". Just as we were going to cancel our order (since we had already paid) our to-go bag came out. I was very disappointed. My family and I have had 2 prior Birthday celebrations at this restaurant and it was awesome until June 11th. My family had a reservation to celebrate my Son's Highschool Graduation. An argument ensued that we were unaware of in kitchen. Management escorted a female out. After ordering our food the female entered and was separated from the other female server. After our food arrived to our table literally the females started to fight right in front of our table(neither was our server by the way-who was excellent.) Due to this altercation, we all lost our appetite an my Son's even was ruined. This was a ridiculous occurrence that could of been resolved by management not letting the previous escorted employee back into the establishment. We as patrons should not know that the females were fighting over a man. Not only was my family affected but also the persons with disabilities trying to enjoy their dinner after a Pirates game and the couple in the area trying to enjoy their date night. Food took 30 min+ to come out, waitress was too busy being the hostess to check on tables, when food finally came out my chicken tenders were burnt to a crisp and my side salad tasted like dirt or dirty water. Not a lot happening on the north shore tonight so lots of seating for happy hour. I want to start by giving huge credit to our server -- they were absolutely amazing. Attentive, kind, and doing everything possible to make the experience enjoyable. If this review were based on service alone, it would be 5 stars without hesitation. Unfortunately, the kitchen completely ruined what could've been a great night out. Every single plate that hit the table was cold. Entrees came out missing sides, and when we asked about them, it felt like they were forgotten entirely. To make matters worse, my entree never even arrived. The kitchen either forgot it, sent it to the wrong table, or claimed it got "ran to the bar" -- none of which made sense, and none of which got me my meal. It's disappointing, because our server was clearly working overtime to make up for the kitchen's mistakes, but there's only so much they could do. Cold food, incomplete orders, and missing entrees aren't things good service can fix. Until the kitchen gets it together, I wouldn't recommend this spot for anyone hoping for a reliable meal. read more

I visited this place this weekend and let me just say my experience was horrible 0 stars!!!! First we were told that it was a 30 min wait for table, fine whatever but then people were just walking in and seating themselves and nothing was said to them. We ended up waiting an hour for a table. After that experience we told that manager and all he had to say was we don't have many waitresses and that he couldn't do anything about people seating themselves. So we decide to order, my menu was completely different from the girls I came with (I guess I had an old menu). I proceeded to order a vodka sprite with well vodka and a well done cheeseburger, the drink didn't even come out till the food came out which was 45 mins. I cut into the burger and it was completely pink in the middle but it would have been another 45 mins to get a new burger. Finally our checks came and my vodka sprite (well vodka) was $14 almost as much as my burger which was $16. This place has horrible service, food and drink prices!! This place was a shock! I've had drinks here before and wasn't blown away. But we stopped for lunch on a Sunday and wow! It was very slow (typical on an off season Sunday). Our server was very sweet and pretty quick. I got a spicy margarita which was good but nothing incredible. The food was the standout. We got the soft pretzel and fried pickles as appetizers. Both were incredible and we loved the jalapeño honey mustard. My lunch was a burger (can't remember which one!). It was absolutely delicious. Bar Louie's happy hour is one of the best deals in the North Shore! All martinis are $7.50 and flatbreads are half off which is amazing as a broke grad student. It was pretty busy on a Friday evening when I came in and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for a table without a reservation ahead of time. I didn't mind waiting but after we were seated, it did take an unusually long time to have a server give us the happy hour menu and take our order. Besides that though, we had a good experience! I tried the chicago ave and effen good martinis, both of which were delicious! I also got the hot honey bacon flatbread to eat and loved that as well!
