Ok, 3 stars for the restaurant but an extra star for our waiter who was freaking hysterical and made us laugh the entire time without being inappropriate or pushy!! So this was definitely a greasy over priced bar food type menu. Came here to grab a drink with a friend and had zero expectations to eat which was wise, because if you have celiac, you won't eat. Anything that could be made gluten free seemed a little bit high likelihood to be cross contact but our freaking awesome waiter knew exactly what could be altered to be "gluten free" so he may had been willing to work a little with the cross contact measures if I was legit hungry. Happy hour was limited on selection but the martinis were great for $10!! The patio was lovely and there was going to be live music which we missed but the warm up sounded great. I'd definitely go back for happy hour. I should have knocked on wood when I wrote the review for Bar Louie because barely one week later, I brought a celebratory of 7 in at 4:30pm on a Friday, and the "positives" were SO much NOT. My thought was the group could get tasty Happy Hour food (such as the Salmon sliders I raved about in the first review). Nope! The Happy Hour menu has been "edited", so now they have a Happy Hour menu pretty much the same as every other pub-style bar/restaurant. They didn't even wait until they had new menus. It was pretty embarassing to take guests to a place that had printed out menus (hand-cut that looked like a 1st grader did it!). Come on, Guys! In addition, service was slower than usual, particularly our large cocktail order. The server explained (20 minutes after we ordered) that someone gad dropped a tray near the drinks, so they had to dump them and make new ones. Well, Ok. I didn't hear any glass break, but okay. Haha. The place is now...meh. I will definitely knock on wood next time. read more

This place is fine for what it is. It's got plenty of TVs so good for watching sports, indoor and patio seating, and can accommodate big parties. The food and drinks are decently priced and definitely do the trick. Service is a bit on the slow side but it's nice not to feel rushed. They will turn on the audio for the "game of the day" too so that's nice. Came in for March madness final 4 and it was definitely lively. My biggest complaint is the bathrooms are gross here. Every time I've been here the restrooms are not very clean which leaves me wondering if the rest of the facility is. read more

Easy to get a table on a Saturday. We came for drinks before going to Activate so can't review the food. The drinks were ok, as expected from a chain place like this. I had 3 of the same one, they were decent but not very consistent (even color between batches). For my 3rd one I had to specifically ask for the listed garnish, since for the 2nd the bar tender just didn't bother. Biggest reason this is a 3 star, is why keep the drink prices a mystery? Neither the website nor THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL MENU in the restaurant bothered to have any (they did list calories, since that's required for a chain of a certain size, but apparently not prices). You will need to park around the location but there is a lot of parking around the mall. We went for a work party. The happy hour was amazing. So many great items and larger in size. I think we easily ordered 1/2 of the HH options and all were tasty. Beers on tap were also on the HH menu. They took great care of us. We missed that they auto charged us a tip and tipped over the "pre-tip" but even with that due to the HH it was a great deal for all we got. Came to Bar Louie for dinner with my family. We ordered the Steak Frites, the Crispy Parmesan Chicken, Chicken Wings. It wasn't very busy since it was right after a holiday, but the food still took quite a while to come out. The steak came out more medium-well than medium--good portion size, but a bit tough for me. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken was flavorful, but not as crispy as I expected. The Wings Bone In were the highlight for me--really flavorful and crunchy. Overall, the meal had its ups and downs, but I'd come back to try other items on their menu. read more

Great food...had a chicken caesar salad, fish sandwich, and Trio Dips & Chips (guacamole, salsa and cream dips are very tasty!) Sat outside on patio w our dog (super happy they allow dogs on their outside patio) near the warm fireplace (they also have heaters if desired) & watched game as inside screens face outside patio which is nice. Had the cheesecake & that was super delicious. And, if you like cheesecake, their cheesecake is definitely a must try for dessert! It is super yummy! Great spot here at the District. Good food, great service, and plenty of TVs for all the games. Might honestly be one of the best sports bars I've been to. I'm in town for work and wanted a place to catch a little MLB (even though my Padres are out of the mix ). Came with a few coworkers and we all had a great time. Our server (name to be added) was awesome -- super friendly and on point the whole night. They had burger specials today, and I went with the mushroom burger but swapped the chicken for need. Perfect size since I wasn't looking for a huge dinner. I subbed a Caesar salad for fries or tots... but next time, I'm definitely going tots. Grabbed one of the beer specials and added a little sauza shot on the side -- total win. Great vibe, good crowd, and an easy place to hang out and watch a game. What can I say. BAR FUCKING LOUIE is a good name. Catchy. And not just 'cus it's my name in the Caucasian version. I probably came to Bar Louie randomly throughout the years, mainly at this Tustin Legacy / District location, but once in Downey, CA after having dinner at Lazy Dog. I typically would only come here to drink -- not 'cus I was avoiding the food, but because I usually ended up here post-dinner and in goblin mode. The last couple of times I was there (Sunday and Monday), I finally spent a little more time and realized it's a really cool and chill spot. The food is actually not bad at all. I like places with happy hour and some deals, and Bar Louie delivers on that front. And honestly, I'll just leave it with this: I understand now why Bar Louie (at least this location in Tustin) has such a high rating, especially considering the high number of total reviews. I think it fairly deserves a 4.5 and would leave that exact score if Yelp actually allowed a more granular, detailed, and specific grading scale. I like keeping it real here. But the reason I'm rounding up is because of the customer service and hospitality I received nights in a row, back to back. Tony Z, the bartender in particular, was awesome and so much fun to talk to and order from. His partner in crime who was there was great too. I forget her name, but she referred to herself as a certified bigback -- which resonated with me and basically means we're probably related. Cheers. So I tried this place again, years later, to see if service had improved. I'm disappointed to see it did not. The food was subpar and pricey. The chicken strips were super dry and overcooked so we asked for additional sauce to try to eat them (since what we received barely made it for 1 piece). When the bill came we were charged extra for the sauce. When I questioned the server she ignored me and just asked if I was paying by card. Service was slow with only a few tables filled. There were definitely more workers than customers. I definitely won't be back and would recommend you walk on by and find another place to eat and enjoy. read more

We started out with drinks and ordered spinach artichoke dip, cheeseburger sliders, and bacon hot honey flatbread. Spinach Artichoke Dip- It was served warm with creamy cheese and a good ratio of spinach. The tortilla chips they came with were cold, however. Cheeseburger Sliders- These were a good choice if you want a taste of burger instead of having a huge portion of it. The burger patty was a little on the dry side. Adding extra ketchup helps. Bun was nice and soft. Side fries were hot and crisp. Bacon Hot Honey Flatbread- This was my favorite! The dough had a good texture, bacon had a good mix of chewiness and crisp. Bar Louie is located in The District shopping center in Tustin. This is a very busy shopping center, but there is a good sized parking lot behind Red Robin and The Winery restaurants which are across the driveway from Bar Louie. The inside of the restaurant is quite spacious, with high ceilings and a good-sized bar at its center. They have a good variety of seating options inside including seats at the bar, a mix of high-top and low-top tables, and booths. They also have outdoor patio seating with umbrellas and heat lamps. We sat inside in a booth which had a good view of the whole restaurant. The two-sided menu has a wide selection of drinks on one side and a good variety of appetizers, soups and salads, and entrees on the other. We started out with the fried pickle chips. They had a nice layer of crispy batter on them and the portion size was pretty good. The roasted jalapeno ranch dipping sauce had a nice light heat. The drink menu has a list of 11 signature martinis so I decided to try the Beach Bum. The list of ingredients including white rum, Grand Marnier, Amaretto, orange, pineapple, pomegranate, and cherry is what attracted me to this one. It was good but it the Bacardi Superior rum was very strong and washed out many of the other flavors. I would try a different martini next time. I was in the mood for a good burger and they have nine different varieties to choose from. I like spicy so I decided on the Blazin' Burger and had potato chips for the side. You can also choose fries or tater tots. The burgers are a good 1/2 pound size and the bun was nice and fresh. I ate the first half and the burger had great flavor and the combination of toppings worked well. It didn't really strike me as being very spicy, but once I started eating the second half, the heat really started to creep up on me. The potato chips were made fresh and were nice and crunchy with a nice light seasoning. This was a solid burger and chips. She ordered the salmon sliders with tater tots. There are three good sized sliders with the same fresh buns. She said they were good but that the salmon could have used more seasoning. The tater tots were good with a nice crisp on the outside. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated by Madi. Should ended up being our server as well and was very friendly and provided great service. All food arrived hot and timely. This is a review of happy hour. Signature Martinis are $11 during happy hour, regularly $16. I had the Midnight Berry and it good. It had a berry, peach, and pineapple flavor. It was half rimmed with sugar, thank goodness. It would definitely be too sweet and inconvenience if it was fully rimmed. My friend had the Purple Reign and it was well balanced, refreshing, and pretty. The ambiance is lively and it really filled up by the last hour for happy hour. I would have loved a glass of water offered too. But the service was extremely fast. And the girlie pops are going to love this, they definitely host Love Island watch parties here. read more

My party and I had a good meal here with sliders, burgers, tots, and drinks. Everything was delicious, fresh, and most importantly clean. The burgers were cooked well the way we liked, and our tots were hot and crispy. The only downside was the tots were a bit more salted this time around. I would prefer a light salt as it is always good to have customer salt it themself if it's not enough salty for them, because once its too overly salted you cant go back! Other than that, everything went well and we had a good experience and good service! Restrooms were clean and we consistently got our waters refilled without asking! No cutlery brought over when we did have food. While I understand things may have been slower than usual, we were told the kitchen closed at 12:30, yet last call was taken at 12:11, and by 12:30 the lights were on and we were being ushered out. If you advertise being open until 1 a.m., stick to that--or update your online hours to reflect reality. Also, a birthday shot was offered for our guest but never delivered. Would I come back? We were in the area for a warehouse sale and had some time to kill afterwards so we decided to come grab a few drinks and a small bite before heading home. The bar was pretty empty when we arrived so hubby and I decided to sit there since we just wanted a beer and chips. It took a while for the bartender to acknowledge us so I went to use the restroom first. When I came back, hubby said he already ordered a beer for himself and asked what I wanted. I decided to get a beer and the trio dips and chips. It took a while to flag down the bartender and when I finally got his attention, he asked what I wanted to drink and started walking away after I ordered my beer. I had to shout after him that I also wanted the chips. The bar started to get busy but our drink order was pretty simple so it should've been fast and easy. So tell me why did the people who sat after us get their cocktails first? We watched 4 couples get their drinks while the bartender completely ignored us as we tried to flag him down. He finally came over to us after serving all the other people and went "oh right, your beers!" After we were served our beers and chips, he did not come to check up on us at all. Meanwhile I can see him trying so hard with the other guests and chatting with them but we didn't even get a "how's everything going?" With that said, I don't think we will ever return to Bar Louie again just because their service was so bad. read more

My date even said, "What was that?" She didn't acknowledge us and just walked away after we payed the tab. I said "she probably dealt with difficult customers or something it is late." just so he doesn't get upset for the attitude. The food, though, was great. Cool bar situated in the Tustin District. It's got lots of seating and a big patio. We've only done takeout from here. They have a good variety of bar foods and entrees. We usually try to take advantage of their offerings through the Louie Nation app. They have occasionally BOGO offers or rewards. We really enjoy their boneless buffalo wings. Very good portion and the flavor is so good. The buffalo has a really good kick and tastes way better than the big wing chains out there. We also like to pick up the cobb salad whenever we get a birthday voucher from Bar Louie, it's usually a $10 reward on their app that you can use on anything on their menu.
