This creative bar experience is going to pop off! I just know it, but they should refine a few things first. The good: + one of the few SF bars that give you a little show for some of the drinks! So cool! My favorite show was the Rosemary drink and the bear fire drink that our neighbor got lol (we tried to order but got the smaller version). + omg the bar food was so good, which makes sense because they are from Merchant Roots + loved the speakeasy experience getting into the bar and all the cool little rooms they included. You can tell it's set up for influencers down the line, so very intentional. + personal favorites are the Pacific martini (the forgot to put in a seaweed garnish I saw other people have...) and Rosemary drink because they were the most interesting! The meh: - we ordered 8 drinks between the 4 of us (we are all hardcore speakeasy lovers) and all agreed that the most of the drinks were one dimensional despite an impressive list of items. For example, - the clear burrata just tasted like the sake listed on the drink and when I asked about the salt rim listed, they said their dehydrator wasn't working so no salt? Lol - they mixed up the mocktail and the cocktail version of the duchess drink for my friend... which could have been really bad if my friend wasn't chill about it. Overall, it was a great experience and they're just starting out so will likely be tweaking their program for the better!!! Excited to come back!!!

    Get this.

This is what is great about San Francisco. So weird, and so cool. Mocktails with liquid nitrogen, bears with homade fernet. Yes please. I'll have 2.

I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

Recently tried to go to Elements…read moreonly to discover it was closed or at least closed to additional patrons 45 minutes before closing so made our way to a couple other bars instead, including Blind Pig. It takes a lot for me to consider a return visit to a cocktail bar. Most of the time, I just begrudgingly go along with my friends to a mediocre bar, but Blind Pig is a place I would enthusiastically return to again and again. I first got the namesake cocktail: Blind Pig. It was incredibly well-balanced, and the flame presentation upon arrival was an epic mini show. Later during last call, I decided to risk it all and roll the dice to order from the secret menu. I rolled a 5, which got me a wine & Japanese beer concoction with Sichuan peppercorn. Totally feel like this cocktail was made for me, as I rep the 川渝 region. The drink was strong, but that made it all the better. Can't wait to come again and explore more of the menu behind the password-protected iykyk entrance.

I'm personally over (and too old) dealing with sloppy drunks spilling drinks on you, getting pushed around in a crowd or end up in a middle of a brawl Blind Pig is that perfect spot, well at least on a weeknight: chill, low-key, and moody. And, most importantly comfy seating AND solid AZN inspired craft cocktails ($18-$19). Cocktails with black sesame, taro, pandan, mapo tofu, tea, and hot pot flavors? YAS! D R I N K S * Hot & Sour: Tanqueray Gin w/ Iichiko shochu, aloe, rose, hot pot paste, basil, citrus, peychaud's ($18 x2) The sichuan hot pot inspired cocktail was silky smooth from the milk-washed gin, nicely balanced - sweet (but not too sweet) and sour with a subtle málà numbing spice. Stiff yet easy to drink. The manager/bartender, Leo was awesome with great hospitality. Background lounge-y music is not too loud so you can yap and catch-up with friends. Overall, Blind Pig is a great place to unwind after work or start the night off. If it's too tamed for you, you can always go next door to XEX to make bad decisions - no judgement cuz we've all been there! ;) O T H E R I N F O * Walk-in only. PW to enter is on IG. * Blind Pig originally opened in Chinatown in a larger space but they're now in a more intimate space on Polk. * Blind Pig is under Mins Group (Sushi Sato, Sushi Hon, The Roll, The Buoy, Dento Piano Cafe, Dragon Horse, and more.) * No snacks/food but plenty of food options within walking distance.

Seeing that it was named one of the top 50 best bars in North American, we had to check it out! We came in a Thursday night in mid-April about 9:45 PM. They have security outside thar checks IDs & also manages the queue in case the bar gets too crowded. We had no issues getting in, but there were zero indoor seats available - both the bar & table seating. Thankfully, they have a really cozy & well-lit patio area. The waitress let us know that even the outdoor patio has table-side service, so we made ourselves comfortable on the outdoor bench & within seconds she had brought us waters & cocktail menus. Weather outside was really nice, so I'm glad we actually sat outside. Each cocktail is $20, which definitely is a little steep, but I think the creativity, quality, & prestige of being named a top 50 bar supports the price. Each part of the menu is organized by liquor ie whiskey, vodka, brandy, gin, etc. We tried 4 drinks total. I only took menu photos of the pages we ordered from but they have a lot more selections. We ordered the Kung Fu Pandan, Silky Street, Rice Rice Baby, & Tropical Gangsta. We had some favorites over others, but all were very well crafted! The drinks came out pretty quickly considering how busy it was. The only hiccup was our final drink took quite a while. Turns out the ticket machine malfunctioned & deleted orders put in & caused a back-up. The waitress was so apologetic & ended up comp-ing 2 drinks, which she definitely didn't have to but it speaks volumes to the high standards they hold themselves to & their customer service. Overall, highly highly recommend checking this place out for a fun night out or post-dinner treat! Glad we made the decision to stop in!

Once it was 11pm, the bouncer started to let everybody in, so I'm guessing they only let people inside every 30 minutes to prevent overcrowding, even though once we got in it wasn't that crowded and there was plenty of open space outside too. Having to wait only gave us about an hour inside. It says they close at 12am and that is exactly when they close--you can't stay any longer than that. I'm used to bars typically staying open about 30 minutes to an hour after the listed closing time to allow customers inside to finish up. As soon as 12am hits, the bouncer starts going around and constantly telling you to hurry it up because they are closed now. The service was also pretty slow, which did not give us much time at all to sip and enjoy the drinks before they closed. We started off ordering two drinks, then our waiter came back about 10 minutes later and asked for last call so we ordered another one (this was before our two drinks even came out yet). After about 15 minutes, we got all three drinks and the waiter apologized and said he didn't charge us for the third drink since it took so long. This gave us only about 10-15 minutes to finish our drinks before we started to get told we had to leave. At least my drink (apple bottom beets) was good and I was able to chug it, but I would rather be able to take my time and enjoy a drink. Their menu is huge, and they have a wide selection of different cocktails categorized under which type of liquor is used (rum, agave, brandy). The ambiance is dark and romantic.

The ambiance was perfect for a nightcap. I visited Holy Water with relatives who live in the area but hadn't visited the place themselves before. Drinks we ordered include: * Mexican Firing Squad - Our favorite of all. We are classic paloma cocktail lovers, and this drink provided everything we enjoy in a paloma and more. Tart, smooth, and all-around divine. * Southern Exposure - The celery in this really awakens the senses. Very refreshing. * Zombie - Boldest drink we've tried yet. Haunted us the remainder of the night (in a good way). * Poinsettia - Wish this wasn't just a holiday menu item. It's fabulous. * Caribbean Snow Day - The playful kid's cup this came served in had us fooled. This eggnog sure packed a punch. Can't wait to be back and check out what other rotating or seasonal drinks they provide. Lastly, major shout out to the hard-working bartender last night who provided kind, prompt and attentive service on top of greeting all patrons coming in, taking orders and bussing tables. You rock!

Despite how busy it was, the staff was super friendly and bartenders were moving fast through the requests. Sometime at a bar you can feel ignored but it was not like that here. Cellphone signal is not great but they have wifi inside as well.

Reservations are highly recommended as we observed many walk-ins but there was a 1+ hour wait. Also, must be 21+. It's not an extensive menu - more like small bites. Appreciate the selection of Zero proof drinks. Hubs happy with the NA Suntory. I went with the Dashi Apple which was quite refreshing. Kiddo ordered the Miyabi which was quite floral. We ordered food items to share. Started with the Tebasaki (chicken wings). Kiddo liked these so much she ordered another one. Next, the pork jowl - some pieces were just fat but the meat was seasoned well. Loved the pear and pineapple kimchi - would've liked a bowl of that. The Tori Nanban Sando was another good one. The Shoji Burger is what hubs came for. Fork and knife definitely need to eat this. Pillowy soft bread, melty cheese, and the pickles all made for a tasty burger. Hubs would return for this alone. Ended our meal with the Hojicha Affogato - so good and such an enjoyable way to end our meal. We weren't rushed at any time. Service was good in that they checked on us often. I'd like to visit during the day time to check out their cafe offerings. Also, although not right away, we'd definitely return again for dinner.
