Came here on a chill Wednesday night. The place is literally filled with plants everywhere (living up to the name). They even have Lunar New Year decorations up, which was a festive touch. I really enjoyed their "Call Me When It's Over" mocktail, it was sweet & refreshing. There's also a special Lunar New Year menu, which was fun to explore. The music was so good I ended up asking the bartender what playlist it was, turns out it's their own on SoundCloud, which honestly tracks because the vibe was on point. Great bar with creative drinks and garden vibes! My friend and I stopped in on a Friday around 8pm and were able to grab one of the last open tables. If you come with a larger group, you may want to come earlier to get a booth. They had a special tequila cocktails menu going until 9pm, but these were a bit too creative for our taste LOL so we ordered off the regular menu, which honestly was also quite unique compared to other bars. - Yesterday is Gone: tea-based cocktails aren't super common in the US yet, so I was super excited to see this. It was so good and refreshing, and the salted sesame added a little twist to the flavor profile. - Sticky Situation: a mango sticky rice inspired cocktail! Loved the concept, but it was a bit too sweet, especially toward the end. In this economy, it was refreshing to see drinks priced reasonably at $16 too. They also have a selection of mocktails, though it's hard for me to justify non-alcoholic drinks costing the same as cocktails lol. It was pretty dark inside and the music was quite loud, so just something to be aware of if you're sensitive to that. Might not be the best for a first date because it was a little hard to hear, but def a good spot for friends to hang out. Others have mentioned the location in the tenderloin isn't the best, but honestly as an SF native, it's on the edge of the neighborhood and not that bad compared to other streets - don't let that deter you from coming! Since I was here on a Tuesday, it was quite empty so I can't speak to how busy or loud it would typically be on a weekend night. Cocktails are typically $16 unless you're here for happy hour (Mon-Thur 8-10pm or Fri-Sat 12am-2am). I tried the pho cocktail. It didn't really taste like pho to me but I found it to be delicious. I ended up at Propagation by chance when the bar my friend and I planned to meet us was overcrowded with a long line out the door and thankfully she suggested this bar which was just a couple of blocks away! I really enjoyed the ambiance here, especially in the past week, Propagation has put up some wonderful holiday lights and decorations all over the bar, they did not spare a single nook or cranny, it was beautiful! When we came in, there was just light music playing and a couple of people inside around 5:30pm. I felt like I was in a quiet town's town square (but indoors) right before Christmas, it brought up some old memories of my childhood hometown. A cool fact about this swanky locally-owned and LGBTQ+-owned bar is that it used to be a corner laundromat and if you squint hard, you can see it in the checkered flooring and some of the piping along the walls. The bartenders and managers of this lovely establishment were nothing but kind and courteous, even when the bar began to fill up and get really loud, they were very patient with each and every customer. The one drink I had was strong and a tad sweet, but honestly, I was really vibing with the bar and people itself (I also loved that my senior pup could come along and everyone was very welcoming of her!). Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would love to come back again, especially for their Lunar New Year's decorations in the next month! read more

The inside is really beautiful, there's plants all over which helps provide some sort of privacy wherever you're seated. We ordered Loyal to the soil and one hell of a something. Can't go wrong with anything you get here. We usually ended up here right before bed (during the week) late in the day so it was never really packed. I came in on a Saturday and they had chill music playing with all their Christmas decorations still up (before New Years). It is beautiful inside...seriously stunning. The owners put so much work into decorating, and when it isn't Christmas time, there are still so many beautiful (real) plants everywhere! They have bar seating, chairs, and a couch! My wife and I both had the "Going Out on a Limb" drink and it was delicious! $30 even for 2 drinks is a great price! They are LGBT+ friendly, a safe space for BIPOC, and pet friendly! Propagation is pretty much my perfect cocktail bar! I visited on a Monday evening with my sister and immediately we loved the vibes. The bouncer at the door was inviting and told us to sit wherever we wanted and go up to order at the bar. The holiday decor was innovative and gorgeous - gifts and upside down Christas trees hanging from the ceiling, wreaths and lights everywhere, gnomes on the bar shelves, etc. We picked a cozy table near the window, surrounded by house plants. For drinks, I ordered the Maximize Your Pleasure, my sister chose the Spice Spice Baby, and we both got Fa La La La La Shots off of the holiday menu. It was hard to decide on a drink because so many sounded amazing. There was only one bartender working, but the place wasn't busy on a Monday so we got our drinks pretty quickly. Both cocktails were absolutely fantastic! My sister said the Spice Spice Baby was one of the best drinks she'd ever had in her life. We also enjoyed the Fa La La La La Shots and although I hoped the presentation might be cuter, they went down smoothly and the peppermint gave us a nice warm/fuzzy feeling. We stayed for about an hour and I ended up also trying the Night After Night, which was like a (better) shaken Pina Colada. It was delicious, but there wasn't much cocktail in there with the massive ice cube taking up most of the glass. The bar also appeared to be dog friendly, which we LOVED. I was in the area Labor Day weekend for a family reunion and on Saturday prior to dinner, a few family members wanted to find someplace to have a cocktail or two and vibe out. While the hotel we were at had a bar, the vibe isn't what we were looking for so I searched my trusty worthy Yelp app and Propagation was at the top of the list. After checking out a few reviews I decided this was the place to go and we quickly made our way there. Upon arriving, we were not certain we had made it to the correct place as the signage on the building stated, 'SF Coin Laundry'. That said, we took a chance and ventured inside. As soon as I stepped inside, I knew we were at the right place and had made the right choice. We were promptly greeted by the mixologist, and she instructed us to sit wherever we wanted. There were a few open seats at the bar, so we planted ourselves there. Promptly we were handed beverage menus and served water. After placing our orders, she quickly went to work preparing our craft cocktails (I wish I could remember her name as she was excellent). As she prepared our cocktails, we had an awesome conversation where she shared some insight into Propagation. The one that stood out to me is that it is all women owned and all their staff are women. For me, that just added to the amazing vibe the place has. In addition to the bar seating/level, there is an 'upper level' (a couple of steps up) that contains some bench style seating along with some comfy chairs in a corner (making for a great spot to have a little more privacy). Also, the inside contains numerous plants which added to the vibe. Also, to add to the vibe, there is background music playing; on the day I visited they had a playlist going that primarily consisted of jazz fusion which was perfect. Based on what I read in other reviews, the music varies based on the vibe of the people present. Considering all that, one probably wonders, 'how were the cocktails?'. The menu contains 15-20 cocktail choices, all unique combinations with even more unique naming. In addition, the craft cocktails, there is also wine, beer, and mocktails available. They also have a bar mix snack which can be ordered. If none of that meets your needs, you can always describe to the mixologist what you are wanting, and they will craft a drink to meet that need. If I remember correctly, the main cocktails in our order were: Thriller Spiller Filler, Hidden Agenda Night After Night, and Feelin Good...Knock On Wood. All that said, our cocktails were amazingly tasty!! No one, and I mean no one, was disappointed with their beverage (if you knew my family you would realize how rare it is that no one finds something wrong...LOL). Propagation will be a must stop for me on my next visit to the area. If you are in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. You will not be disappointed. read more

The bar is located in an old coin laundry building off Post street right on the border of the Lower Nob and the TL. The SF Coin Laundry signage is actually still on the building. It's not much to look at from the outside, but once you go inside, it's like a different world. Never judge a book, y'all! My friends and I had a wonderful time here. We loved it so much that we literally stayed for almost 5 hours! We were in our own little world just enjoying the amazing drinks and vibes. Speaking of drinks; they are simply incredible. Unique cocktail combinations with interesting names that are strong and absolutely scrumptious! This is precisely how I'd describe their drink game. Plus, they ain't so bad to look at either.
