Portions were on the smaller end but all things were so flavorful. What maybe should have been a more private conversation between the servers was louder than expected that affected my views of their professionalism as one shared his anger and made several comments about a party due to receiving a tip on the lower end of the scale. I understand it's frustrating, but discussing it in front of other customers could negatively impact their experience too. What a great gem on west 6th. Had this on my list of places to go and glad I finally made it in. Made a reservation for 6:45....moved up to 5:45 which was perfect as they have Social Hour between 5-6:30pm daily. Discounted drinks and food. I got a glass of Getrank Gruner Veltlner -$11 normally, $7 Social hour. Also got the Sambal Crab and Chips and Taiwanese Duck roll. Both were delicious I think the duck roll was a tad my my style just due to it not being as rich. The crab and chips were tasty but kinda heavy. You can see the real crab in the dip and that was great. The duck roll came with a soy chili dipping sauce that was spicy! Not my cup of tea, and they were able to make it without cilantro. Lovely! Hey have a parking lot around back, not too big maybe 15 cars or so. Outdoor seating is lovely as it's shaded so as the sun goes down, no one is melting in the sun. This was my first visit to Bar Peached, and I stopped in with my daughter for Social Hour. Since we arrived early, it wasn't crowded. The Margarita De Peached was tasty. For food, we ordered the crispy potatoes, the fried fish tacos, and the Thai noodle salad with shrimp. The fish tacos were so flavorful that I ended up ordering a second one. The crab dip had too much cream cheese and not enough flavor. The Thai noodle salad, while fresh, was on the smaller side and a bit bland, but the shrimp was tasty. One disappointment was that the outdoor fans weren't working. At 80 degrees, a little airflow would have made the experience much more comfortable. I also wish the menu offered a few more healthy options, as many items leaned toward fried. Thankful for the yummy complementary birthday dessert - sticky rice with mango dessert. It was delicious. Bar Peached has been an Austin staple for quite a long time now and the team is also responsible for other great local eateries like the Peached Tortilla. Located off West 6th, the location is in a quaint neighborhood just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown and covered by a series of majestic oak trees. Parking is a little tricky - there's some unreserved parking stalls behind the restaurant that you can get to if you loop around Pressler, otherwise you will have to look for neighborhood parking either on the same block or just north of West 6th. The ambiance inside is cute and rustic and feels like a renovated old cottage home, complete with quirky colored furniture and creaky hardwood floors. The service staff is attentive and skilled at what they do and will give you a great rundown of the menu. I've been a few times, most recently for the brunch in which they often have a decent level of availability relative to some more mainstream eateries which could end up demanding a long wait time. Their menu is relatively concise, but frankly jam-packed with delicious options. For the quality of food, I think Bar Peached is priced quite reasonably and their dishes pack a ton of flavor while also feeling relatively healthy. My favorite brunch menu item is the BBQ Pork Benedict, just be prepared for the scallion pancake and not your traditional English muffin / toast base. They have a good range of both savory as well as light and refreshing menu options, and I'd recommend you try to family style it in order to try as many menu items as possible (i.e. switch between a thai noodle salad and a heavier set of steak and eggs, just to go back to some brussel sprouts before launching into chicken and pancakes). Be mindful that indoor seating is somewhat limited, and a lot of the restaurant is actually outdoor seating. This wouldn't be an issue if Austin didn't have 6-month summers, but here we are so make sure to dress accordingly so you're not drenched if sitting outside. read more

It's charming with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. If you haven't come here yet, then you need to soon. Mapo Bolognese--3.5/5 honestly, I felt that it just tasted like spicier bolognese. The noodles were dense and chewy, but I did not taste the mapo much. The tofu on top was unique and made it creamy though, but it did not add much flavor. It was definitely spicy, so beware if you have a low spice tolerance. Duck Rolls-- 4.25/5 this appetizer was flavorful and tasty. I particularly liked the spicy oil for dipping sauce. I also liked the plating. Malaysian fried rice-- 3.75/5 not bad but not amazing! This dish was on the sweeter side, which contrasted the spicier dishes from the other two. I thought the flavor was okay. Overall cute and friendly place! We made reservations for a Saturday evening (party of 6) and were seated quickly upon arrival in the first floor/outdoor patio area. It was during golden hour, so overall just a really nice vibe. They have indoor seating on the other levels. Service was pretty fast. As for the food, the social hour menu is great and has a bunch of shareable dishes! We ordered: Charred brussels ($7) Crispy potatoes ($7) Spicy pork fries ($9) Cheese corn ($9) Sambal crab chips and dip ($9) Fried fish tacos ($4.50 each) Overall I like the fusion twist that Bar Peached adds to dishes. For example, the dishes feature flavors/ingredients such as sichuan peppercorn, cilantro chimichurri, gochujang, and caramelized kimchi. The stand outs from our visit would be the fried fish tacos, spicy pork fries, and the cheese corn, but you can't really go wrong with anything if you come during Social Hour. The food were nicely packaged - each item, including the sauces, had its own box and was clearly labeled. Bar Peached really pushes the limits in terms of Asian fusion but it's a hit or miss. I appreciate culinary creativity, but they need to refine their flavor profiles to ensure everything is cohesive and flavorful. Pork Buns ($13.80): Vietnamese braised pork belly, cucumbers, green onions, chinese bbq sauce. This order came with two buns, but they kindly gave us an extra one on the house :) The pork belly slices are thick and juicy, but a bit too fatty for my taste. They also could have been braised longer as the flavors were more subtle than I would have liked. Definitely recommend adding sauce for sure. Taiwanese Duck Roll ($16.10): confit duck, shaved cucumber, green onion, hoisin, scallion pancake, soy chili dipping sauce. This was my second favorite dish while it was my husband's favorite. The duck roll was quite compact - almost like a sushi roll - but it's packed full of confit duck. The flavors were good but even better with the soy chili dipping sauce. Taco Trio ($18.40): I saw the bad reviews but still decided to give it a shot because I've been craving tacos. Unfortunately, these were as disappointing as people said - skip these for sure. The sauces, pickled veggies, & slaw came on the side. We assembled them but opted to dip the tacos in the sauce instead of drizzling it on. The ingredients just didn't compliment each other to create a cohesive taco. If you want tacos, go somewhere else. - Brisket on Flour Tortilla: Southern dry rubbed brisket, creamy apple slaw, roasted peach bbq sauce. The brisket was bland and not juicy, but the sauce was good. - Banh Mi on Flour Tortilla: Vietnamese braised pork belly, pickled daikon carrots, sriracha mayo, cilantro. Some pieces of pork belly were fatty while others were dry. I also wasn't a fan of their take on the pickled daikon & carrots. - Sweet Potato/Cauliflower on Corn Tortilla: Arugula, kewpie mayo, toasted coconut, peanuts, watermelon radish, lime wedge; with corn tortilla. I actually think this was the best one, but it was a close tie with the banh mi taco. Whipped Ricotta ($14): Charred tomato salad, thai basil, chili crisp, scallion pancake. I don't think the scallion pancakes paired well with this whipped ricotta. The texture of the ricotta did not survive the car ride - it was thick in the middle yet watery around the edges. In terms of taste, it was interesting...that's the only way I can describe it. Worth trying once, but only in-person - not for take out or delivery. Mapo Bolognese ($17): FIve spice pork, whipped tofu, sichuan peppercorn, wheat chow fun. Surprisingly, this was my favorite dish. It was unique, and the flavor combination worked well together. The bolognese took around 10 minutes to come out after the steaks. I will say the restaurant did an AMAZING job making up for the delays. They gave us free Brussels sprouts and taco trio, both of which were good. My friends really liked the steak, especially the miso butter. They also loved the pesto udon. We got a free dessert of birthday cake bingsu thanks to a super nice server, and that was delicious. The reason I am (sadly) giving this a 3.5 and rounding down is because the mapo Bolognese was SO SPICY. Apparently our server was supposed to give me a warning, and I wish he did because I probably wouldn't have gotten it. I honestly should've sent it back because I was FIGHTING to eat this dish, and I feel like I have a pretty good spice tolerance. My mouth was on fire and I was taking sips of water between bites. We had the mozzarella corn and chips and it was delicious. I've had this at Korean BBQ but nicer like this with tortilla chips. It is my new favorite dip. The chimchurri fried fish is so full of flavor and we wrapped it in corn tortillas. The charred Brussels sprouts were tasty with the peach jam. We also got the Thai chili BBQ steak was cooked perfectly. It went well with the rice and egg. For dessert, we had the crispy and chewy rice doughnuts and caramel sauce. We look forward to coming back and trying other dishes and having binsoo for dessert. We loved everything and the service was fantastic. Really nice and thoughtful people work here. They play great music and the ambience is comfortable and lively. read more
