    Calabria

Delicious pizza, great thin crust that enhances the flavors and lets the sauce shine. The tartine app was very good, nice rich + creamy goat cheese on an open sourdough toast concept with crispy prosciutto and sweet chili honey. Pizza was so full of flavor, I can't wait to try the other specialties! We got the Calabria and thought it tasted like an elevated margherita pizza. The lemon ricotta was not overpowering, could barely taste the lemon but not in a bad way: it kept the pizza savory.

Bar Rosa is one of my favorite go-to spots in Tacoma. The cocktails are thoughtful and distinct and the food is simple, fresh, delicious, and nicely presented. They've got a great mastery of their pizza oven because their pizzas and flatbreads are always perfectly prepared -- with the right combination of crispness and chew. The Burrata they serve is fresh and creamy and the greens are always crisp. And if you like espresso martinis their Troop Leader is one of the BEST. So is the For Rosa cocktail, which brings a perfect blend of sweetness, tang, and bitter to whiskey. The service is great, the inside ambiance is pretty mellow and comfortable and you can sit outside -- which is nice on pleasant night even if the street itself is a little Tacoma Gritty.

Good food, chill and moody vibe, but pricey. Service is friendly. Wine selection is super limited. Two things I didn't love so much was the lack of proper wine glasses, and then no ice bucket for my bottle of white wine. Other than that, the seasonal salad with squash was top tier. So was the tiramisu. Cute little date night spot for sure.

    Burrata and flat bread

We had the most delicious dinner at Bar Rosa last weekend! I started out with the Mexicali Blues cocktail and we shared the burrata and flatbread appetizer. Both were fantastic! The flatbread is phenomenal! We also had the foraged pie. It was just as delicious. Maybe one of the best pizzas I've had in Tacoma. Foraged Pie: rosemary béchamel, mozzarella, fontina, provolone, adam's mushrooms (shiitake/oyster), garlic confit, flakey sea salt. The ambiance is dark. There are candles lit and the whole vibe is super cool and very relaxed. The service was great. Everyone was so friendly. We did have to wait a little bit for a table, but it was well worth it.

My mom ordered a pizza and we were expecting it to be very good when Meghan the manager gave her terrible service. To start with the pizza was VERY oily and the whole pizza was dripping grease. So my MOM went to go exchange the pizza for a new one. When she went to exchange this pizza Meghan the MANAGER gave her a huge attitude and slammed the pizza box on the counter because we wanted a new pizza. The after she proceeded to walk away and make my mom stand for 30+ minutes on a new pizza. But all in all the service was terrible, the first pizza was very bad but the pizza they exchanged us for was good which is what we were expecting from this place.

After a long day of moving, we decided to grab a quick lunch and found Bar Rosa on Yelp! My boyfriend is a pizza snob and loves wood fired pizzas so we thought we'd give this a try since we're new to the area! We got the margherita and the calabria pizzas. We also came during happy hour and I got the passion fruit cocktail and he got a beer. The cocktail was way too strong for my tastes so I gave it to my boyfriend. The pizzas were tasty and the dough was nice and fluffy. The scissors it came with was different and my boyfriend liked his a lot! Mine was a little sweet for my liking with the lemon ricotta and it was definitely interesting but I think I'd try a different one. It was on the pricier side and ended up costing around $70 for the two of us. The waitresses were nice and they leave a carafe of water so you don't really interact with them much. The restaurant wasn't too busy when we went and there was plenty of parking on the street!

Bar Rosa is the perfect spot for a date night without kids (no kids allowed, can't recommend takeout because it's so inconvenient). The food is good, the service is ok. Parking on the street (not hard to find) We ordered a salad, two pizzas and tiramisu. The citrus and fennel salad was delicious though lacking fennel (mostly greens). We liked the spiced greens pizza (plus sausage!) and the gabugool pizza! We ordered enough to take home nearly a full pizza (yay us!) and the tiramisu was great. We probably would've been in and out with more responsive service but they also don't rush you so just depends on what you'd like! Will go again at some point when we get a babysitter, so maybe an update in 3 years.

Bar Rosa was recommended by several friends so I thought I'd give it a try. I got there for happy hour and enjoyed one of their drink specials, a delicious passion fruit margarita. I was warned the Diavola pizza was spicy, and it was - just the right amount. I'm not ashamed to say I ate the whole thing all by myself lonesome. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

    Two Ronis and Brocolinni...mmmm
    Rene D.

Oh my another great meal! We had two happy hrs, passion fruit Dacari, and a Modelo, one brocolinii on happy hr, 2 Roni's... cause WE don't like to share lol!! The broccolini was perfectly roasted with crunchy bits of airy brocolinii with garlic and almonds. Mmmmm and the service was excellent. Also the Ronis cupped to perfection!! I took 3 pieces home. EVERYTHING HERE IS COOKED TO PERFECTION! As we were getting done about 5:30 they lit the little candles for ambiance! Love it! Wanna come back just to drink!!

This place is for my gals who wanna have a good time with good food, or the couples who wanna have their own perfect date night with some wine and pizza. Since it's December they've got their interior decked out in beautiful Christmas decor. Let's talk about the main course, the pizza, of course! It's ideal for fans of thin-crust pizza--crispy, light, and oh-so-satisfying. We tried the Margherita pizza, a classic with tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil, extra virgin olive oil, and a sprinkle of coarse sea salt. Simple, fresh, and delicious! For something more unique, the Vesuvio pizza stole the show. Topped with provolone cream, oregano, chili oil, red onion, wine-roasted crimini mushrooms, prosciutto, pecorino romano, and fresh burrata, it was an incredible flavor explosion worth every bite. Also a special mention to this drink my best friend ordered, it was an interesting blend for me but she loved it so much she got two, it's called Rosa's Mulled wine which had brandy, red wine, Xila Mexican amaro, allspice, orange, cinnamon, star anise. This drink is served hot and it's perfect for the cold season to keep your body warm. Our server was great too! He continuously checked on our table from time to time and didn't rush us to pay our bill.

At first glance it appears super tiny, but the bar goes back pretty far and is a good size. We got there before the nighttime crowds and managed to score the cozy couch in front of the fireplace in the back. It filled up quickly after that, though! The mood is moody and cozy, the perfect spot for making this apart of date night. I can't speak much to the food as we did not order any, but the menu is pretty elevated for a bar. The ambience is definitely different. Quirky, fun, good instragramable place. Unfortunately, when we arrived although cozy there was a strange smell like burnt candle or burnt something. The candles they have are LED so ruled that out. This is my 2nd time. I would give better review but I am a little disappointed by their overall offerings.
