Great pizza, like probably the best in the south sound. Service is top notch. Great bar program with some killer unique cocktails.

This place is the perfect example of do not judge a book by its cover. It looks blah from the outside, but inside, the vibe is everything! Great lighting. Great ambiance. Music. Pizza smells. The whole works. I ordered the El Jefe cocktail and it was delish! The bartender was super nice and patient and attentive. He makes a mean drink! I ordered the clam and guanciale pizza and it was really good! Just wish it was a bit more saucy. My friend ordered the calabria pizza and that was my fav. The lemon ricotta with chili honey was the perfect balance. Again, it was a little dry and wish it was more saucy. Would def come back!! read more

Delicious (!!) wood fired pizza in a cozy atmosphere. The staff here is lovely, have opinions and are knowledgeable about the wine and spirits list. I really love the cacio pepe pizza with a side of sauce, the large salads and the Amaro list. Get a table or sit at the bar - the vibe is right no matter where you are. Great date spot and a great spot for a cocktail and a book. read more

Upon further reflection and after multiple visits, although I'd love a vegan cheese option, this pizza really doesn't need it. It would be a much appreciated, added bonus but we've since visited a handful of times and it just hits no matter what. It's so good. The thinness of the crust and slippery toppings took some getting used to but now that I know what I'm in for when I order this, I love it. Still wouldn't be mad about vegan cheese but for now, it's still a stellar vegan pie. read more

The vibe is casual yet classy here. Good for date nights; not for families. Be prepared to cut your pizza with scissors. Luckily, it's all delicious so the effort is worth it. Passed this place going to 1111 and my friend told me it's so delish so i took my girlfriend here for our anniversary. Best pizza we have ever had. Amazing service, clean huge bathrooms, and it's so cute in there. I don't drink but my girlfriend told me the drinks were some of the best she has had and they were so cute! great food. usually lovely people. I've never had a bad experience here until today and it felt off. server sat us then ignored us for over 10 minutes. I got up and asked if we could order, then the waitress asks for ID. I came in with my 16 yo daughter. she is obviously a teenager and I clearly didn't see the tiny peeling sign on the door that says no minors so that's on me. however the waitress was just rude. After waiting for a solid 10 minutes and then having to leave with a hungry kid was really disappointing. So many ways this could've been handled more gently. they could've carded us when we walked in, there could be a real visible sign saying no minors allowed, but the saddest part was how rude the waitress was after we waited so long for my favorite pizza. Just left a bad feeling and taste. Well no taste of pizza tho. read more

Let me preface by saying, "I love Tacoma"! As such, I'm a bit biased. Met some co workers here. Appreciate the location, and the interior is nicely done, and structured for conversations. Ordered brussel sprouts, Salumi pizza, and an "adult" beverage. I enjoyed each. They were solidly executed and tasted good. The pizza was wood fired. Crust and toppings were tasty--not too much cheese (but I love cheese). I don't think I've found "my drink" there, yet, but I only tried one. The service was attentive, fun, and a great menu guide. Fantastic pizza. It is a little spendy. Two 12" pizzas and tip was over $100. It is very dark in the area and parking is very limited.

One of my new favorite spots. Absolutely love the pizza. Shroom is my favorite! Delicious and creamy, but not too heavy. The perfect char and chewy to the crust. The whole roasted garlic cloves are my favorite adding the perfect sweetness to it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and modern. It's a definite must. read more

I've been waiting to come here and I'm glad I finally made it. The atmosphere was welcoming and the customer service was fantastic. It was a little chilly inside as the doors were open but I loved the dim lights and darker ambience once the sun went down. Their liquor availability was limited but there were still good options to choose from. We chose to share the Shroom pizza and it was delicious. Can't wait to try more menu items when I return. Excited to try this place out- my experience was meh. Ordered an arugula salad and olives - both were tasty. The atmosphere/style was very pleasing. The server seemed disengaged, when I was considering a second drink- did not offer a menu or any suggestions. Both cocktails I had were watered down. Server gave us our bill without asking if we wanted anything else- and seemed to be rushing us out to close an hour early. I might be back- but there are many restaurants/bars with super engaging, friendly staff, and tasty drinks- so probably won't be back. read more

I had the vesuvio.... It was delicious! That wood fire pizza was on point ... from the crust to the firey smoke aroma. The only thing is the bottom of the pizza was thin... which is a wonderful thing but the ingredient was too heavy and soaked right through making it soggy. I'm sure if it was a diff topping style pizza it would hold up but that's just something to keep in mind. Ambiance was great. I sat in the patio area... it was so pleasant to have a whole pie out on a sunny day enjoying their wall plantation. It was a real treat. I really want to come back and try their other pizza variant. It pains me to write this review. First of all, the PIZZA. Oh my. The pizza is so good - perfect, blistered, chewy crust, exceptional toppings, creative combinations. And the cocktails - so GOOD. It was such a revelation to find this spot, which is open for lunch on weekends. Last Spring, our first two visits were excellent, the food and drink were matched by perfect service from a happy team member. Since then, we've been back 3 more times and sadly, each time the service was subpar. Visits 3 and 4 were marred by low energy, slow, unfriendly service - which we were willing to overlook because the food and drink were just so good. This last time, we arrived at opening to a team member who dropped the door she'd just unlocked on us when we entered, didn't make eye contact or greet us, left us at the door with dismissive instructions to access the menu via QR code. We were a party of 6 and would have been spending more than $300 on our lunch, and apparently, we were not worthy of her grace or attention. We left, and on departure she shouted a cheerful "Have a nice day!" It was disappointing, embarrassing for us and our guests and just frustrating. We will not be returning. Sad for the community, for the owners - a missed opportunity for a great restaurant. read more

We've been here twice, once when they 1st opened & once recently. The ambiance is cool & the service is good enough, but the motto of the kitchen seems to be the more the better, but not in a good way. The 1st time we came we had a potato pizza that had too many potatoes so it made the crust soggy & a Caesar so garlicky I felt like I had it coming out my pours the next day. -We chalked it up to them being new. This visit we had beet salads that had literally 8 squares of beet but enough dressing for 50 & the Cacio Pepe pizza that had so much cheese it was almost too salty to eat. It's unfortunate, bc we really wanted to like it & we love supporting neighborhood restaurants, but we spent over $65 with only sparkling water, 2 salads & a small pizza that neither one of us enjoyed. We've returned time and time again to Bar Rosa. Without even thinking, we always get the burrata. The actual pizza is actually difficult to choose but their flatbread makes all choices a good choice! The later in the evening you go, to more it has a romantic vibe. During the warmer months, the patio is open to take in the sunshine. I've also really enjoyed their cocktails. When I asked our waiter (who said he invented half the menu) about the pizzas I was told to I could see them with the QR code. Ummmmmm if you invented half the menu you should be able to tell a new customer about the menu and make some recommendations right ?? Went out on an early valentines date tonight with my hubs. Y'all... this place is we had olives to start, margarita pizza, drinks, panna cotta.. it was all SO delicious. I can't wait to go back. I've been wanting to try this spot close to our neighborhood for a bit & let me tell you, getting a baby sitter and doing the whole thing was SO WORTH IT. such a fun spot, so cute inside. Yet still that Tacoma grunge vibe haha. The pizza was bomb though, the sauce!!!! Don't take my word for it. Go!!! Drinks were amazing too. Yum yum yum. I love pizza. One of the best around. Travel 40 minutes to eat here! Their salads are amazing also. Nice fresh produce. Generous portions. But their pizza is why I come back. Tried numerous. Have not had a bad one yet. read more
